My customer had come in with his new Mercedes with a dent on the right front fender. This dent was caused by something falling against the fender and leaving this crease dent. Now, these fenders on this model Mercedes are aluminum. So it is slightly more difficult to remove a dent from aluminum.
The access needed to get behind the dent on this fender was simple. I was able to just pull back the plastic/fabric liner. This gave me great access to be able to use my PDR Tools.
I used to different paintless dent repair tools for this dent. I was able to start with one tool to get out most of the damage. Once I was able to do that I was left with a sharp crease. This was because of the fender being aluminum and the initial depth of the dent.
I then had to switch to another dent removal tool that had a much sharper tip. This helped me to be able to “pinpoint” exactly where I need to push.
A few other items used were my knockdown tool and also my heat gun to warm the aluminum panel to make it easier to push out the metal. This keeps the paint and aluminum more flexible.
My customer was extremely happy with the results of the paintless dent repair on the aluminum fender of his Mercedes. He was local to the Blaine MN area and was able to come in and wait while the repair was made. I was able to provide an excellent repair in just a short time.
