It's almost depressing how good the AI is in this game compared to, say, Arma 3. Like, the soldiers act like REAL SOLDIERS, they clear buildings room by room, they execute bounding overwatch, they capture and use enemy vehicles, infantry sticks to the armor and uses it as cover, like, seriously, BI needs to step their shit up for Arma 4!
Red McCloud One time I was playing this game and I was the last man alive in my squad. The Chinese soldiers actually had the smarts to surround the building and flank me from another doorway I had no clue about. AIs would never do that in Arma. It's a shame this game has been left in the dust only because developers didn't set the game to stand the test of time.

I haven't tried it in a while, but multiplayer should still work, you just enter in the hosts IP, and connect directly to them, probably wouldn't hold up too well in a full adversarial match, but coop should be fine. and if you dont want to give out your IP, there are programs like Evolve that lets you create a virtual LAN that people can connect to, and then you just use the LAN option to make a room in-game. Multiplayer should still be very possible here, there just may or may not be the additional hoop to jump through. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN PEAPUL!

shiit I remember this on Xbox 360, I liked multiplayer more than campaign because in multiplayer you could respawn and also command like an 8 A.I. squad lnstead of just 2 dudes (and you can also easily get LAV tank or helicopters whereas in campaign you have to play that level to use those vehicles

bluedrake as far as I know red river is an improved version of dragon rising. not amazing but its essentially the same game, but more polished and fleshed out. correct me if I'm wrong but I actually remember finishing red river while dragon rising got really annoying

Those are my only two gripes with this game, but it's enough to prevent me from playing it regularly. Such a shame, because it really is a good game. Feels a lot like SQUAD if it had a campaign.
you know what's bullshit, one of the DLCs for this game added an "Island Tour" level, that's basically this without the combat. they really fucked up with this game. all they needed was a co-op sandbox like this
