There's a big reason you missed: a lot of English words originated in French. (That's a legacy of the Norman Conquest.) This means that French is relatively easy for Anglophones to learn, and also that learning French will improve your knowledge of English!
Here in Canada all the schools teach French because a quarter of Canada's population is Francophone. (We're officially bilingual.)
Did you know that French was Prince Philip's first language?

Here are my personal reasons for learning French :
    1) It is sexy and beautiful. French is surely a "plus" when it comes to seduction.
    2) Vocabulary. To communicate in English, you need 300 words. But if you want to express yourself properly in French, you gotta learn a few more words. While learning new words in french, you will gain a huge vocabulary in English as well because they are more than similar. People will find you smarter and you'll understand way more things.
    3) French gastronomy has a really good reputation. If you go to a high restaurant, it will most likely be french, so you'll be able to order for yourself and your friends in the native language of the waiter. I assure you'll love doing it and you'll impress everyone.
    4) French women (and men). Before going to France, I didn't know how much a person could be charming. French people are elegant, natural, classy, humourous... You'll like them right away.
    5) French is affluent. If you want to climb in society, speaking this amazingly beautiful language will help you a lot.
    6) Literature. There is uncountable masterpieces written in French. The authors are legends ; Victor Hugo, Molière, Baudelaire, Maupassant, Audoux, Balzac ... And the list is still long. You won't be bored when practicing.

We are 66 million people in France and I don't think the non-French French native speakers are only 8 million. There are Quebec, Belgium, a part of Switzerland, some African countries. . . All of these people can't be just 8 million people.

France isn't among the top ten most widely spoken native languages, but among second languages it has a worldwide reach surpassed only by English. As recently as the nineteenth century, it was THE international language, like English today. (Hence the term "lingua franca.")

    I've got better reasons:
    1. You can become Amélie.
    2. You can read French literature.
    3. You'll be able to travel to a myriad of French-speaking Caribbean-, African- and European countries. And Quebec and French Polynesia.
    4. Speaking French will make it easier to pronounce fancy words in English.
    5. You can teach French in your local town and live off it.
    6. You'll be way more charming to people. Most people find French romantic and sensual.
    7. You would find other romance languages way easier once you speak French fluently.
    8. Your brain will stay sharper knowing another language.

By the way,i am currently learning French Spanish Italian Deutch and Russian at the same time..like when i figure out a word in one of those languages i translate it to the other four.
The verbs are quite a complex, in Russian especially.

      Woah, nice.
My goal was learning those 4 languages i mentioned without French(The pronunciation is difficult).
Then i thought like...it doesn't make sense that i skipped the French...(Its the second most important language and borders the 3 languages i set up ).
My strategy is learning 6 words for each language and learning 2 present simple tenses for each as well.
      Whats your tactic?
Ah and Do you know a good site that pronounces all the French nouns? Thanks :)

i learnt french because my parrents decided to raise me in quebec. and you gotta know how to talk french if you wanna get annything done here. i learnt english as my first language and started learning french shortly after frome some french speaking kids i managed to befriend despite not beeing able to comunicate with them. once i started english school we had french classes. i learnt alot their to. iv been speaking french fore about 20 years now on a dayli bassis. and i still havent masterd it. see french is a gender language. witch means objects are assined a sex. male or female. its important to memorize what sex evry object is. or youll sound like an idiot. and i can never remember whats feminin or masculine. so evry time i meet somone new and have a conversation with them theyll interupt me to correct me. like alot. and it gets on my nervs. french speaking people who know me well dont bother correcting me annymore. in short. i find french to be extremly frustrating to learn. iv only been learning it fore 20 years or so. and im never going to master it. i actuwally get into arguments with french speaking people about how stupid this concept is regularly. but yet here i am speaking this god forsaken language more than i speak english!

As someone who studied French for 11 years in school and lived in Toulouse for a time, I can tell you that your accent is good. But attention: you pronounce "deux" like "de". The vowel in the latter exists in English and is therefore easy for English speakers to produce. But the vowel in the former does not exist in most variants of English and requires careful study and practice. See Wikipedia's article "Close-mid front rounded vowel" for more information.
