  • The main cause for the pain due to teeth grinding/bruxism is excessive tension in jaw muscles. Pain patients of all kinds are affected by bruxism or teeth grinding. Often jaw muscles feel tight and tense, and there is a feeling of heavy pressure on the teeth. Pain specialist Roland Liebscher-Bracht explains what causes bruxism and what can you do about it without a dental or mouthguard.

I'm not convinced bruxism is a one cause fits all issue. I had been eating homemade biltong (air dried meat) for over a year and a half multiple times a day. That stuff is tough as hell and requires a lot of mastication force. I ended up developing tmj issues, tinnitus, and all kinds of neck and shoulder muscle problems regardless of that input. I might not have been opening my mouth extremely wide but I was for sure sufficiently working my mastication muscles. I think it's very possible nighttime bruxism can simply be a noxious habit developed purely from stress and anxiety, just like nail biting. Many people report that they clench and grind way more during times of stress. The reason put forth in this video could be a primary cause in some or even many cases but it's likely not a fact in all cases.

It’s very connected to subluxations in the spine and atlas, C1-4 especially. We need to get adjustments from a reputable chiropractor. My bruxism was alleviated after regular adjustments and aligning the spine.

      Dear ppl,
I was grinding my teeth and it caused Gum recession and teeth cracks.
The problem was due to sleep apnea .
Pls check if U have sleep apnea.
Wholistic Dentist did sleep test and recommended an expensive mandible device (not CPAP) but I found it not easy to use.
      CAUSE FOR Sleep apnea
      1. Overweight
      2. Thick tongue (again overweight)
      Solution:
      1. Reduced weight by 4 kilos
      2. Slept side ways , to ensure I slept sideways, I held a pillow and kept a few behind to ensure I don't sleep flat.
It fixed the issue for me.

I believe a lot of it is because children are not nursed properly and do not develop the proper size oral cavity. Many children are fed bottles instead of breast milk. This is what my dentist has told me and unfortunately once it happens, you cannot go back and fix it.

Look in to other videos of therapy for joint pain, knee pain, back.. and so on. They also talk about how with some small simple moves on the jawline of the mouth, you can fix bruxism. Pain in the hips will heal, neck.. All of it. ✨here wasn’t that much help... 👀

      Hi 👋
Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately, we can't and must not properly evaluate your individual case from a distance to tell you the cause of the tension and stiffness in your neck. In most cases, it is due to one-sided or insufficient movement that leads to excessive tensions and restricted mobility in your muscles and fasciae. Please learn more about the cause, symptoms, and treatment options of various neck pain conditions in this informative article. 🙂👉 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-neckpain Before you attempt any of our recommended exercises, we recommend you to check in with your physician just as a precaution. 🙏🙂

      Hi Kayoko! 🙂
Thanks for your comment! That's true, unfortunately we don't ship to the US yet. But we're working on it and hope to have this option available for you soon! 🙏 However, don't worry if you don't have the jaw hero, you can always use an alternative item that is similar in size and shape to substitute for it, e.g. a wine cork. 🙂 We hope this helps!
