Magic Man should be next! Also, for female rockers start with The Runaways, Cherry Bomb for your first taste. It's the band that gave us Joan Jett and Lita Ford. Trust me on this! Peace!
Well said. In the low register it's like a velvet glove, but as she goes up into the upper range it has this penetrating brilliance that just cuts threw everything in its path.
Young dudes....Heart is one of the most iconic rock bands that started in my hometown of Bothell, Washington. Such incredible energy, talent and drive. Ann Wilson, one of the greatest rock vocalist of all time. Nancy, her sister an amazing guitarist. And every band member, talented enough to have their own band! This band blows away ANY band today. This is true talent.
Their story is so interesting. From Heart’s Wikipedia article: “Mike Fisher, Roger's brother, was set to be drafted into the army. Nancy Wilson has stated that when he did not report for duty, his home was raided, he slipped out a rear window, escaped to Canada, and became a Vietnam War "draft dodger". One day in 1972 (or 1971), Mike crossed the border to visit family, and by chance met Ann at a Hocus Pocus (or White Heart) show. According to Nancy, that meeting was "when she and Michael fell in love" and Ann decided to follow Mike back to Canada. Steve Fossen finished his college education before he also decided to move to Canada in late 1972, and Roger followed in late 1972 or early 1973. Along with Ann, Brian Johnstone (drums), and John Hannah (keyboards), the band Heart was officially formed. Ann's sister Nancy Wilson joined in 1974, and soon after became romantically involved with Roger. The group played numerous shows around their new home in Vancouver, and they recorded a demo tape with the assistance of producer Mike Flicker and session-guitarist and keyboard player, Howard Leese. Hannah and Johnstone had left by this time, and soon after Leese became a full-time member. Flicker produced the band's first five albums. This team recorded the debut album, Dreamboat Annie, at Can-Base Studios in Vancouver (later known as Mushroom Studios)”
Gentlemen, the Ann, and Nancy Wilson sisters have been rocking the stage since the early 70s. Ann with her power house voice, and Nancy with her amazing guitar playing, and beautiful melodic sounding voice that completely enhances many of Hearts songs. They began when disco was mainstream and female rockers were just unheard of. They paved the way for many other female artists , and this is just one of the many reasons why they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Nancy produced the whole soundtrack for the movie “ Almost Famous.” Based on a true story by director Cameron Crowe. My favorite line in the movie “ We’re not groupies, we’re band aids.” A must see....
Barracuda next. 70's Heart was rock/accostic rock & 80's Heart was more pop rock. Magic Man is another good one. Their performance of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors of Led Zeppelin was epic.
Totally agree. Magic Man is totally mesmerizing! I prefer the 70's Heart, before Mutt Lange hyper-sexualized them, to keep them "mainstream". They were not happy. -- The Kennedy Center performance was a drop the mic moment. Have a great weekend. :))
All of these "Let's React" Channels give me a huge opportunity to experience music that I've heard many times over with a fresh perspective. Can't go wrong there.

I feel so bad for kids these days - if they want to go to a concert they have to pay around $100 (often more for decent seats). When I was a teen in the 80s, I could see amazing bands for $10 - $20. Even in the 90s it was fairly affordable to go to concerts. Now you have to be affluent to attend a concert. How much does that suck?
In '79, (I'm freakin' 61 !)... I dated a girl that lived a block away from Ann Wilson. Neighbors and friends were invited to a campfire sing-a-long with Ann and Nancy and Howard (guitarist) in her backyard on the lake. Just sang Beatle songs and Carpenters and Motown and oldies and such. Sat next to her (lucky me, Howard asked if I knew basic guitar... duh), and her freakin' voice MOVED MY HAIR !!! (A possible cause of my now baldness.) Have since met them many times, and have recorded many of their shows. (They let me WAY up front, or for perfect zooms). Have many full shows of them on my channel... from a month ago to 10 years ago. Best is The Showbox... and then the Christmas Show... with Sammy Hagar and many special guests.
This band is STILL together , touring , selling out shows and Ann’s voice is better than ever. I have seen them over 10 times. Guys, they are crazy good. An LP of theirs that will blow you away is LITTLE QUEEN. Every song is a masterpiece. No filler. ROCK ON !!!!
"Magic Man" is the other hit from this album. Magic Man features a lead intro with backwards recording effects and, as the guitarist revealed many years later, an unknown alternate tuning that drove many 70s guitarists crazy trying to figure it out in standard tuning.
Roger, the true leader of the early incarnation of the band. Broke singer Ann's heart and became her muse for some more incredible, if much more commercial, 80s hits.
I had dinner at Rogers house in 2002, and he was showing me somethings on his guitar. He says "Check this out... Jimmy Page taught me this." I was like, you're name dropping Jimmy Paige on me? Really? OK...
@@metalmark65 Don't mean to rain on your parade. Nancy is the one who went out with Roger Fisher. Ann dated Roger's brother Mike (yeah for real Mike Fisher) who was a draft dodger and literally jumped out of a window to escape the draft. He moved to Canada where Ann followed. The rest of the band trickled over the border and they re-formed in Vancouver BC. I used to live 1 block away from Mushroom Studios where they made their first recordings.
@@MickLoud999 you are absolutely correct. I forgot that Ann had dated the brother. They both wound up booted by the Wilson sisters. Thanks for the correction. I'm always up for a rock n roll education! ; )
I am 65 and so grateful to have grown up going to see bands/acts like Heart, Jethro Tull, Alice Cooper, ELP, Aerosmith, ELO, BTO, Guess Who, Grand Funk Railroad and others performing live in their prime, and now to see others appreciate them is awesome.
sarahzentexas check out Nancy’s acoustic intro in their Kennedy Center performance of Stairway To Heaven - she has lead guitar chops all over the place.
Pat Benatar? She's a freaking opera singer singing rock... How about Janis? Karen carpenter arguably the best voice of all of them. These comment sections get really stupid sometimes. Yes she has a good voice... We all know she did not get the gig based on her looks
You are soooo right. I love that video and never get tired of playing it. But it is one you have to watch to really get the full effect. I love watching their faces and would love to know what they were thinking.
Ann Wilson could sing the phone book, and I'd listen. See, there used to be a thing called a phone book, and it would be very boring to sing... well, never mind.
Having gone through junior high and high school in the 70’s I really appreciate you, the younger generation discovering what we listened to back then. FYI, Heart was not an all girl band. The Wilson sisters were the main singers and face of the band but they were the only girls in the band. Keep up the great reactions👍
You'd love The Pretenders, I believe. The lead singer is Chrissie Hynde, an American who crushed hard on Ray Davies of The Kinks back in the day. The story goes that she moved to England, met him, & they even had a child together. Check out the songs Precious, Message Of Love, Brass In Pocket, & one of my favourite Xmas songs called 2000 Miles.
Back in the 70s we didn’t listen to songs, we would listen to albums. This is one of those albums that flows and would be good for whole journey. I think the oldest sister was like 21 when they recorded this. They were amazing and became instant headliners.
This was arguably probably the best song to introduce Heart to you. Ann's vocal range is incredible ans Nancy kills it on the guitar. Someone else mentioned Even It Up. And absolutely Barracuda, Magic Man, Dog and Butterfly.
Barracuda is great. You have to check out their tribute to Led Zep at The Kennedy Honors....they performed Stairway to Heaven and killed it!!! Also Pat Benatar was great...Hell is For Children and We Live for Love are my faves. Blondie Heart of Glass is great too!
My favorite classic Heart tunes: Magic Man Barracuda Love Alive Dog and Butterfly (not a banger, but still a great song) Anne Wilson is the singer. Her sister Nancy played the acoustic guitar; she also plays rhythm electric. Heart's lead player back then was a guy named Roger Fisher. You should know that there was a huge change in the band's sound in the 1980s. They were losing audience, and switched to a much, much more radio pop sound (with outside songwriters). Some people like tunes from that era, but for Heart bangers, the 70s are the shit. If you're looking for other killer women performers from that era, Pat Benatar is at the top of my list.
There are so many of them: Heartbreaker You Better Run Hell is for Children Hit Me With Your Best Shot Precious Time Fire and Ice She was killing it for quite a while in the late 70s/early 80s.
Also, Cameron Crowe wrote Fast Times at Ridgemont High after going back to high school to write about the experience. He was writing for Rolling Stone WHILE he was still in high school as depicted in the semiautobiagraphical Almost Famous... a great movie.
Something I love about female rock singers is that they can sing in the alto/soprano ranges without straining their voices. Sounds so good. Nice vid, dudes.
Now we're talking Guys!! I love me some Heart. You gotta check out Magic Man, What about love, Alone, Wild Child and Of course Barracuda. Enjoy your day and the Music.🎵🎶
“One too many choruses” Blasphemy!! I love the outro. Perfect song, and arguably the band’s best...but there’s a ton of great tracks to choose from. “Magic Man” and “Barracuda” are their other two essential songs, but don’t sleep on “Minstral Wind” or “Heartless”. Nice vid, guys!
I'm just coming across your channel & have been watching for hours now... How do you only have ONE Heart reaction!?!?!?! Would love to hear you do more... Magic Man, Barracuda & their cover of Stairway to Heaven they performed at Kennedy Center Honors (in front of the remaining members) will knock your socks off. It's FANTASTIC.
Love you guys closing your eyes and just taking them in. True music lovers. Good for you. I feel so grateful I grew up in a time to hear bands like Heart, Queen, Van Halen, Depeche Mode, Cure, The Kinks, Journey… We were spoiled for choice. Such incredible time for music. No auto tune or back up computer tracks. Just musical artists playing their HEARTS out. ❤
Ok, now you've watch and enjoyed this, you REALLY need to to react to "Heart - Stairway to heaven at the Kennedy Honors" They are honoring Led Zeppelin who are being inducted to the Kennedy honor hall of fame. (the following are not my words, but when worded so perfectly, you have to share) In that clip, you see Rock legends, playing for rock gods, to honor their rock godliness. And noone, could've pulled of, what Ann and Nancy Wilson gave us, that very, very special evening. A few tips upfront (they will make sense, once you seen the video) Bowler hats have a deep meaning, John Bonham used to wear them. Jason Bonham, the son of, plays the drums. Robert Plant, notoriously known to hate it when people sing their music, broke into tears and complimented Ann in person, after the show. (this is a HUGE deal, if you know Robert Plant a bit) Ann Wilson was 62 when she sang this for them, and she showed all the other singers, who sang prior to her, how to actually do it. These are the tips, and reasons to watch that amazing performance, no excuses, the Kennedy Honors are on your "to-do-list" now :P
Well said, friend. The only other performance from Kennedy Center Honors that is as equally emotional, was Aretha playing & singing Natural Woman in front of Carole King. Carole herself was tearing up. Legend honoring a legend.
@@matthewdrake4385 ooh yes, Aretha... that was amazing, both her and Carole are such important figures in music, and that moment was breath taking, especially when you realize that Aretha played the Piano, just for Carole. And i'm already getting positively emotional just thinking about it lol, going to watch it again now, thnx :D
Saw them, 7th row, when their second album came out. They were a Led Zeppelin cover band before they got a contract. Played "Battle for Evermore" during the encore. Later put out by the Lovemongers, which is them.
You're going to hear a lot of recommendations for their harder rock songs, but it couldn't hurt to hear some of their soft rock hits like "Dreamboat Annie" and "Dog and Butterfly".
They're not an "All female group" the acoustic guitarist and lead singer are female, the rest are guys, the lead guitarist Rodger Fisher is criminally underrated, had the privilege to smoke a bowl with him once haha
@TC NY The Fisher brothers, Mike and Roger started the band in Canada in the 60’s along with Steve Fossen. When Anne came around she became the lead singer and Mike went offstage to manage the band and was Anne’s boyfriend . Most of her love songs were about him. Roger was the “underrated “lead guitar player. Nancy joined the band in 74 and the two sisters came to define the look of the band. Roger fell in love with Nancy and these two couples were the bands center as they rose in success. When Roger and Nancy began to break up, he kind of “went crazy on her” with jealousy but it was his frequent dips into the population that were the cause of the breakup. Add in all the extracurricular stuff that went on with successful rock bands in the late 70’s and Roger ended up kicked out and mostly replaced with 2nd guitar player Howard Leese, another underrated player.
Definitely try Barracuda and Magic Man from Heart. Magic Man has a great groove to it and Barracuda is one of my fav songs of all time. For other great female rockers, Joan Jett has great songs, along with Pat Benatar (Heartbreaker especially), and you might like Cherry Bomb by The Runaways. They were an all female teen rock group in the 70s.
I’ve seen others already say this, but I want to echo that their cover of Stairway to Heaven during the Kennedy Awards show for Led Zeppelin is phenomenal. John Bonham’s son joined them on drums and there is a chorus on stage too. Robert Plant had tears in his eyes watching them.
Before they got their record deal, they essentially were a Led Zep cover band. Anne used to play flute on the intro to Stairway. Saw them many times for free at Simon Fraser University pub in the mid 70s
The 70s version of Heart was phenomenal.they were 6 piece.Ann n sister Nancy were the face.the other 4 guys (2 of which were brothers) rounded out the rest of band.they had a dynamite drummer back then to ..live stuff is crazy good.
The first time I heard Heart's " Dreamboat Annie" I was 6 years old and fell in love. My sister's best friend gave me the vinyl. I have it to this day. ♥️♥️♥️
@@johndef5075 Anne and Nancy's versions are the only ones that matter to me.... Some Classic Rock songs just shouldn't be fucked with, and this in my opinion is one of them. Just my opinion, no need to freak out at me about it. 😁👍
Even It Up, Straight On For You, and If Looks Could Kill are probably my 3 faves of theirs, at least for rocking out. Little "Dreamboat Annie" is a nice short tune too, for a mellow mood.
The whole original band was great. Nancy's intro, Ann vocals. Roger Fisher's riff... each part of this song came from a very good musician. Heart has many great songs: Magic Man, Barracuda, Straight on, Dog and Butterfly, City's burning (very underrated single) You should listen to Pat Benatar: Heartbreaker, Promises in the Dark, Hell is for Children, Hit me with your Best Shot (Love is a Battlefield is just her 80s big hit). Great singer. Neil Giraldo is phenomenal on the guitar and Myron Grombacher on drums is memorably good. Linda Ronstadt and Janis Joplin also were big in their own field.
I will put a suggestions for a female rocker. Pat Benatar. She deserves to be in the hall of fame and her video was the second video that MTV played when the station first debuted.
@@elainegahan2110 My personal favorites are "You Better Run" and "If You Think You Know How to Love Me" but those two are probably not the best ones to be introduced to Pat Benatar. John mentioned "Hell is for Children" which would work. This is probably Pat Benatar's strongest song for a message and Neil's guitar work is terrific in this song. But the best song to be introduced is probably "Heartbreaker". Once again, great guitar work and a great song just to rock to.
Peter Frampton’s Do You Feel Like We Do Live from Frampton Comes Alive album, if you want to hear the best combination of guitar and talk box on a live recording.
Sisters tear it up! Nancy one of the best guitarist ever! Ann’s voice, perfection! Wait until you hear them at Led Zeppelin Kennedy Honors singing Starway to Heaven!
when they came out, they were really talked about badly....no one was ready for this, and when I say "this" I mean how awesome they were, and most rock bands had only men, I believe they felt threatened!!
If anyone is interested, the intro on the acoustic was played by Nancy Wilson. The one on the right of the album cover. Ann is of course the one on the left. The singer.
Ann Wilson has the best female rock vocals imo. Pat Benatar is close if you want to check her out. Both from late 70’s early 80’s. Both really clear and powerful voices, with incredible range and tone.
These Dreams would not have sounded right if it was sung by Stevie Nicks. no knock against Stevie Nicks its just that when i think of the song These Dreams , Nancy Wilsons voice is perfect for and meant for that song
Barracuda and Love Alive would be my choices but there are many for sure! Ann’s vocals have gotten maybe smokier or a little less bright but she can still knock down a brick wall
What classic songs have these two dudes heard before? Damn, I want one of them filmed at there next birthday party, when the candles are lit on the cake, I’m thinking they will be blown away when everyone starts to sing, Happy Birthday to you........
Heart was my first concert I attended in '77. Heart, Ronstadt, Blondie, Fleetwood all had great female leads. Others like the Go-Gos and B-52 were just a lot of fun.
However, I do think it's understandable to consider Ann and Nancy to be Heart. They've always been the representative faces of the band, and are the longest remaining members. Of course, even though Ann and Nancy are such a prominent duo, the other members who have come and gone throughout the band's career also deserve recognition, and credit for their contributions. :)
I saw Heart twice in concert in the 70s and they both some of the best concerts I've ever seen and I have seen a lot of concerts. I think you're really underrating this song but I'm still glad you liked it

Excellent suggestion. Great song choices and esp. 2000 Miles. I also love Human and Every Day Like Sunday.
I saw them in the late 1970s, awesome! Love all those songs! Christie Hynde is badass!
Back in the 70s we didn’t listen to songs, we would listen to albums. This is one of those albums that flows and would be good for whole journey. I think the oldest sister was like 21 when they recorded this. They were amazing and became instant headliners.
Some of us still do, don't worry.
Very good point. We would listen to an album from beginning to end, over and over again. What a great experience.
They actually paid their dues in Vancouver and the rest of Canada. I can’t remember why, something to do with the war in Vietnam I think.
Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson are sisters. Magic Man is one of my favorite Heart songs.
Yesss
Magick Man is awesome!!!!
This was arguably probably the best song to introduce Heart to you. Ann's vocal range is incredible ans Nancy kills it on the guitar. Someone else mentioned Even It Up. And absolutely Barracuda, Magic Man, Dog and Butterfly.
Dog and Butterfly is my favorite of there's. Ballad but still shows Ann's amazing vocal range.
I'd also recommend female rock goddess Pat Benatar: "Fire and Ice" and "Promises in the Dark". Her husband is the guitarist, and he's very good.
That note Pat hits in the bridge of Promises is instant goosebumps!
I agree. Pat Benatar!
She's not in the R&R HoF, but they're a joke anyway.
Hell is for Children
Treat me Right, Heartbreaker, You better Run.:-)
Barracuda is great. You have to check out their tribute to Led Zep at The Kennedy Honors....they performed Stairway to Heaven and killed it!!! Also Pat Benatar was great...Hell is For Children and We Live for Love are my faves. Blondie Heart of Glass is great too!
Lauren Smith Hell is for Children is my fav Benatar tune!
My favorite classic Heart tunes:
Magic Man
Barracuda
Love Alive
Dog and Butterfly (not a banger, but still a great song)
Anne Wilson is the singer.
Yeah I always lived Promises In The Dark. Great love rock song thanx 4 your input.
Pat Benatar's - Heartbreaker is the banger that echoes in my brain.
Yeah great one too.
There are so many of them:
Heartbreaker
You Better Run
Hell is for Children
Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Precious Time
Fire and Ice
She was killing it for quite a while in the late 70s/early 80s.
@@lisaw5604 And of course "Shadows of the Night"! Great song!
Fun Fact: In Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the hot chic in the car “looking” at Brad while he’s wearing the stupid pirate getup? Nancy Wilson.
Yep. I think that's how she met Cameron Crowe.
Wasn’t she in a corvette?
Wow, learned something new today. Thanks!
Also, Cameron Crowe wrote Fast Times at Ridgemont High after going back to high school to write about the experience. He was writing for Rolling Stone WHILE he was still in high school as depicted in the semiautobiagraphical Almost Famous... a great movie.
I learned something new today. Thanks man!
Another Great Heart song worth checking out: "Kick It Out."
@@leticiab8789 Calm down.
"Magic Man", yes. A MUST.
For absolute "bangers", as these reactors use, Barracuda is criminal not to have heard. Heartless, tasty selection. Definitely in the Banger class.
Perfect amount of choruses. I also love the addition to the outro. This song is amazing
Ok, now you've watch and enjoyed this, you REALLY need to to react to "Heart - Stairway to heaven at the Kennedy Honors"
They are honoring Led Zeppelin who are being inducted to the Kennedy honor hall of fame.
(the following are not my words, but when worded so perfectly, you have to share)
In that clip, you see Rock legends, playing for rock gods, to honor their rock godliness.
And noone, could've pulled of, what Ann and Nancy Wilson gave us, that very, very special evening.
A few tips upfront (they will make sense, once you seen the video)
Bowler hats have a deep meaning, John Bonham used to wear them.
Jason Bonham, the son of, plays the drums.
Robert Plant, notoriously known to hate it when people sing their music, broke into tears and complimented Ann in person, after the show. (this is a HUGE deal, if you know Robert Plant a bit)
Ann Wilson was 62 when she sang this for them, and she showed all the other singers, who sang prior to her, how to actually do it.
100% have to see it. Incredible.
Matthew Drake Check out Beth Hart Kennedy Center Honors for Buddy Guy
Saw them, 7th row, when their second album came out. They were a Led Zeppelin cover band before they got a contract. Played "Battle for Evermore" during the encore. Later put out by the Lovemongers, which is them.
You're going to hear a lot of recommendations for their harder rock songs, but it couldn't hurt to hear some of their soft rock hits like "Dreamboat Annie" and "Dog and Butterfly".
YES - these two songs --- set to repeat -- hundreds of times.
Dog and butterfly KILLS me
Oh yeah Dreamboat Annie and dog and butterfly.
Both of those songs are delightful and just as masterful as the harder ones. I sing Dreamboat Annie to myself randomly all the time.
They're not an "All female group" the acoustic guitarist and lead singer are female, the rest are guys, the lead guitarist Rodger Fisher is criminally underrated, had the privilege to smoke a bowl with him once haha
If I remember correctly, two of the guys in the original lineup were the boyfriends of the Wilson sisters.
Roger Fisher was a huge fan of Jimmy Page...
Lets not make an overcorrection.nancy wilson also plays electric guitar though maybe not on this track.
Criminally underrated is your favourite phrase I’m guessing?
" Love Alive" best Heart song . Simply beautiful.
One of...for sure. Favorite of course
I was in love with Stevie Nick's... She's a storyteller and has a great rock voice so, I would recommend her...👊🏻👍🏻😎
Have they done Fleetwood Mac at all? That's a tragedy if not.
@@misterkite TBH, I don't think so...🤔🤔🤔
There is no apostrophe in Stevie Nicks last name.
Another jewel fellas. Great band.
Yeah the Runaways consisting of Joan Jett and Lita Ford!! Ah fantastic!!! 🤘🤘
Agree! --- Oh, do you think they're ready for the Runaways? They were rebel punks & metal Riot Girls! Lol (love them!)
@@lisaw5604 It would be a crime not to expose them to that greatness!! 😉🤘🤘
@@lisaw5604 they want more female rockers so of course I'm gonna recommend those badass rocker chicks to them!
@@kevinmarques7716 Lol! ;)
Nancy Wilson is an amazing guitar player. Annie's voice makes you speechless. They rock as hard as any male band. ✌✌❤❤🌻🌻
Good reaction boys...
HEART-BARRACUDA, LIVE!!!!
Ever seen Gretchen Wilsons and Alice and Chains live version? Really incredible.
@@johndef5075
Anne and Nancy's versions are the only ones that matter to me....
Some Classic Rock songs just shouldn't be fucked with, and this in my opinion is one of them.
Just my opinion, no need to freak out at me about it. 😁👍
First saw Heart when they supported Queen on hot space tour 1982 MKB great live too. Nice v nice UK Dude x
Hearing this again, after many years, reminds of the incredible power of this cut..I think that you, too, underrate the greatness of this song
Barracuda please and Magic Man & Alone all great songs by them
Barracuda Barracuda Barracuda. That is all. 😎
Dream Boat Annie is a concept album. It really should be listened to in its entirety.
The greatest female duo in rock music history. But forget gender, one of the finest rock groups in music history...
You cannot do Crazy on You without also reviewing "Barracuda"
"Even it Up" is a good, underated song of theirs...don't see it mentioned in the comments.
Even It Up, Straight On For You, and If Looks Could Kill are probably my 3 faves of theirs, at least for rocking out. Little "Dreamboat Annie" is a nice short tune too, for a mellow mood.
Good call - that is a great, great tune!
Revisited this review. Absolutely love Heart. You guys need to do more.
Heart was one of those groups who successfully transitioned to the music of the 1980’s (for better or for worse).
Ann has the best female rock voice in history period...
Heart is a FANTASTIC band !! They also do the best Zep covers Her voice is perfect for it.
I’ve been hoping this was on the way!!!
Every straight guy in my generation had a stone crush on Ann and Nancy Wilson, many still do 😉
The whole original band was great. Nancy's intro, Ann vocals. Roger Fisher's riff... each part of this song came from a very good musician.
Heart has many great songs: Magic Man, Barracuda, Straight on, Dog and Butterfly, City's burning (very underrated single)
You should listen to Pat Benatar: Heartbreaker, Promises in the Dark, Hell is for Children, Hit me with your Best Shot (Love is a Battlefield is just her 80s big hit). Great singer. Neil Giraldo is phenomenal on the guitar and Myron Grombacher on drums is memorably good.
Linda Ronstadt and Janis Joplin also were big in their own field.
actually roger taught nancy the intro
Two talented sisters from Washington state who are gigging to this day.
Loved growing up in the 70's we had the best music ever and today proves it ..
Awesome song to kick off this TGIF! Can't help to be crazy on Heart! ❤
"Magic Man " -Heart
Heartless, Straight On or Even it Up are great Heart songs
Nancy is playing that guitar. Recommend you watch her play on a live video. Ann still has chops! They called her the female Robert Plant.
I prefer to call Robert Plant the male Ann Wilson.
This is my favorite song from Heart! These women are amazing! Never wanted it to end as well!!! :)
These women are iconic.Guitarist and singer.
I will put a suggestions for a female rocker. Pat Benatar. She deserves to be in the hall of fame and her video was the second video that MTV played when the station first debuted.
Hell is for Children.
Yes, this!
Jim C really?!? I love her. What song?
@@elainegahan2110 My personal favorites are "You Better Run" and "If You Think You Know How to Love Me" but those two are probably not the best ones to be introduced to Pat Benatar.
John mentioned "Hell is for Children" which would work. This is probably Pat Benatar's strongest song for a message and Neil's guitar work is terrific in this song. But the best song to be introduced is probably "Heartbreaker". Once again, great guitar work and a great song just to rock to.
Jim C I actually was wondering what song of hers was the second song ever played on MTV?
I love her. Amazing voice
Peter Frampton’s Do You Feel Like We Do Live from Frampton Comes Alive album, if you want to hear the best combination of guitar and talk box on a live recording.
Great choice! Sounds of my youth for sure. I disagree about Heart sucking in the 80’s though. I love it ALL!
Everybody got weird in the 80s😂
Definitely one of them thar tippy-top, most-memorable acoustic intros EVAH!
Sisters tear it up! Nancy one of the best guitarist ever! Ann’s voice, perfection! Wait until you hear them at Led Zeppelin Kennedy Honors singing Starway to Heaven!
Barracuda is another great tune, as is Magic Man! Love Heart! Ann sounds like Grace Slick to me in this song 🤘🤘
when they came out, they were really talked about badly....no one was ready for this, and when I say "this" I mean how awesome they were, and most rock bands had only men, I believe they felt threatened!!
True. No label wanted to touch them. They went to an obscure Canadian label, and after they received some attention, THEN US labels cared.
Ann Wilson's growl at the end of the last verse always gives me chills up my spine.
If anyone is interested, the intro on the acoustic was played by Nancy Wilson. The one on the right of the album cover. Ann is of course the one on the left. The singer.
the intro guitar on this is done by Nancy wilson Ann wilson her sister does the Singing.
Nancy does also sing. Even lead on a few occasions, but was more comfortable backing for Ann.
@@TheStefan6969 yes on Alone but on this song Ann sings I should've said on this song.
@@evilvolts True!!

Barracuda by Heart .. it will remind you of Led Zeppelin in their prime.
Heart were massive Zeppelin fans.
Ann Wilson has the best female rock vocals imo. Pat Benatar is close if you want to check her out. Both from late 70’s early 80’s. Both really clear and powerful voices, with incredible range and tone.
One of the most powerful voices in rock music.
Ann n Nancy rock🤩 not only w their jams, but their ballads. Dog n butterfly. So beautiful💞
Heart was inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame a couple years ago got to check out the video barracuda what a jam!
These Dreams. Written for Stevie Nicks originally, but one of the few recordings by Nancy Wilson...and she was great!
Heart isn’t all female but the guitarist and singer being Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson are 👍🤘
However, I do think it's understandable to consider Ann and Nancy to be Heart. They've always been the representative faces of the band, and are the longest remaining members. Of course, even though Ann and Nancy are such a prominent duo, the other members who have come and gone throughout the band's career also deserve recognition, and credit for their contributions. :)
Check out "Bebe Le Strange", a totally unique and blistering cool tune.
Suggestion: Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit”.
Oh hell to the yeah!
There’s a YT video of Grace Slick singing White Rabbit with all the instrumentals cut from it. She’s amazing
It’s called a isolated vocal track. And of course the same can be done with guitar, drums, etc
