The East Lancs Railway was the scene for some superb loco performances this weekend, as their annual winter steam gala took place on the 18th & 19th of January.
The gala would see two visiting engines, which were Thompson B1 61624 & B.R Standard 4 76084, they were also backed up by the home fleet, which were Black Five 45407 & the super sounding Standard 4 80800. Unfortunately the Super D failed again and was unavailable. A massive thanks go to the ELR for running a excellently run gala with trains running to time on the final day of the gala. Amazing video! Was a great gala- I visited on the Saturday when the Super D was working. She was good for the old girl. Shame she failed. Brilliant coverage!

My Grandad used to drive 80080, she is looking fine now !
Very nice shots of 76084 leaving Irwell vale and the Black 5 on the viaduct. 80080 certainly seemed to put on a good show.
