- This years SVR Spring Gala would see a GWR branchline flavour, with the inclusion of two visiting Panniers Tanks in the form of 6412 & 6430. Unfortuntely the main star of the show, 6990 Witherslack Hall was declared failed with a hot axle box, which would see it ruled out for the whole of the weekend. The loco is now expected to run over the easter weekend. The homefleet were as always out in full force, though 7802 'Bradley Manor' was also ruled out due to a leak on the boiler. With two of the main engines ruled out, this would see extra turns for the two big Bullieds 34053 & 34027. Even with the loss of the two GWR Locos, the gala still retained it's branchline feel, with the both panniers taking turns on the auto trains.
The weather was dull and gloomy, though conditions were slightly brighter on the Saturday. Regardless of the conditions it was an enjoyable event, with the double headed panniers being the highlight of the weekend and we was even able to have a ride along the line on the Saturday. Depsite the disappointing engine failure's the SVR have hosted an enjoyable gala and it was good to see the majority of trains running near to time.
I hope you enjoy the coverage.

+Ernest Johnson Thanks Ernest, was pretty tired come the end of the day, but was all worth it in the end, despite the grey & gloomy weather.
Great selection of shots Liam, especially the Panniers. I'd love to see more of them on the SVR. Shame about the failures but it didn't detract from the gala
+acw71000 Thanks Austin. Surprised they didn't stick around for longer, I thought they'd at least do a photo charter.
Excellent coverage of the Gala Liam, you seem to have had better condition than many others who attended.....Regards...Bob
+Robert Masterman Thanks Bob. The Saturday was a lot brighter, though I travelled more instead of filming. It was a shame the morning mist couldn't of hung around a bit longer on the Friday morning.
Thanks for a great video,I must have stood next to you up Northwood lane on the Friday, but at 82, found it a bit chilly. Thanks again. Ramon
+Ramon Williams It was a bit chilly on the Friday. Thanks for watching & commenting.

+somerset train spotting It's just outside of Bridgnorth. It's called Daniels Mill. You will see it signposted. You can climb up to the viaduct, but it's a steep sided bank.
Okay thanks a lot
