  • Over the weekend of September 14-17, the Severn Valley Railway once again held their “Autumn Steam Gala”, originally scheduled as a 3 day event, Thursday was added as a preview day to celebrate 100 years of the grouping of the railway companies of 1923, more returns to usual SVR practice also came into play including overnight running, local and heritage goods trains, this was by far one of my favourite galas because of the choice of locomotives including 3x new visitors I’ve never seen and the first time I’ve seen 41312 running after failing at Midsomer Norton last year, the event also marked one of the final chances to see 43106 “The Flying Pig” which is one of my favourite engines and of course running as my star loco, 21C127(34027) in SR 40’s Wartime Black which I must say although inappropriate it looks absolutely amazing.
    Locomotives include:
    LNER ‘B1’ No.61306 “Mayflower”
