Personally, I find the fight with Mohg one of the most mechanical and interesting fights in the whole game. He has tight openings, zoning and follow-ups that make battle with him feel almost like it is a fight from Bloodborne or Sekiro. Wish Shen didn't listen to her friend and made it without knowing about bug. However, everyone plays as they want to so it's more than OK. It's funny nevertheless

@@EddieB-ready What exactly is "acknowledged" with that? First off, it's not funny. That's just thrown in there as a weak excuse. She simply didn't wanna fight that guy, because the first round in the sewers went badly.
Secondly, she doesn't even have an inkling of curiousity what's new and special about it. At that point why even fight the boss. Just turn around and go to another area and never fight the guy. The cheese-dude jumping in with "hey, why don't you just cheat" easily ruined a good fight and going along with it INSTANTLY was the cherry on top.
This entire opening was so good. The VA work, all of our favorite characters throughout the Soulsbornes sitting at their fires and grace... It makes it sound like all of them are communicating across worlds.
It actually reminded me of the Aviators' song, Bonfire (A Rest). Quite fitting.

The thing is gideon casts all his spells instantly and they have max damage as well as the debuff he puts on you. Hes the cheatiest boss who ever cheated.

Radagon is so different from other bosses because there's no buildup with him, he just shows up and beats your ass into submission
And then phase 2 ruins it
I'd argue there's like 100+ hours of buildup to him

Watching Shen get slapped around by Malenia's regular attacks, while waiting with intense anticipation for the first time she's hit with Waterfowl Dance.

This was an undertaking to edit. Almost double the rest of the Souls series, I can easily say this video was the biggest endeavour I've been through. The sheer scope was unprecedented for me, and it was a staggering mountain to climb at times. But then, reaching the end and reading all the comments truly makes it all worth it. Rather fitting, considering that's what made me fall in love with the Soulsborne games in the first place.
Thank you to everyone watching, and sticking through this year long journey. Thank you for the cast for doing a wonderful job with the Intro. And thank you Shen for trusting me with such a massive project. I hope you all enjoy how it came out ^^
Now, I'm just gonna rest up at this grace until the DLC comes along... I'm gonna need it.

So I somehow managed to accidentally skip ahead in the video after Ranni said " no one has managed to thwart the Tarnished" to a clip of Shen just screaming for dear life and it might the funniest comedic timing I have ever seen by complete accident.
Damn. I was actually really hoping that shen would fight mohg. That's the only victory so far that I would say was lame. What a shame.

All background stuff about how Ranni's ending was mistranslated or misunderstood in it's wording, I'd like to think that the "Into fear, doubt, and loneliness" was more personally referring to her own expected experience in bringing the age of stars.
Initially planning to do this whole things alone, unsure of exactly what it would bring her. But now she has you with her!

Just so you know Placidusax is basically dead when you fight him.
He's missing at least two heads (possibly three), his scales have been torn off (his scales are what you use for the final upgrades), his wings are a complete mess and he can barely fly so he has to limp and throw himself after you.
all I could imagine was Seigward asking "What do you fight for?" and we just see Shenpai come into frame, lit by the glow of the bonfire light as she utters one single phrase. "...the horny"
The age of stars is actually the PERFECT ending for the Elden Ring game.

1:18:04 was visually the single most violent death i have ever seen in elden ring, everything was ok then you were triple cartwheeled into a massive blood splatter in less than a second
Firstly, holy moly the editing kicked ass all the way through. Incredible work.
Second, when you said you felt like you didn't earn the Malenia win know that you did. Malenia pushes us all to a breaking point. I abandoned my vow to never draw a katana, a vow that had remained unbroken until she forced me to wield the rivers of blood.
The one that was not earned was Mohg's-
Same. I was determined not to use mimic and wanted to beat her entirely by myself, but I couldn't. I was able to beat her first phase alone then summoned mimic for the second.

Oh man Melenia. I remember hearing the horror stories of how she was truley the toughest and that she was harder then Radahn who i already had difficulty challenging. But surprisingly i wasn't afraid, i had dealt with bosses like Melenia in the past souls games so i was genuinely excited for what she had in store for me...
Then it starts and i reach her. I remember giggling with excitement the moment she cheaply charged forth durring the first attempt. My personal favorite boss in the entire game but i still love pretty much all of the bosses... Except Theodrix lol
All of the emotions I felt from seeing onion, G H E R M A N, Sun, and Doll Waifu hit me with so much nostalgia. I’m currently working through DS1 so hopefully my journey is as memorable as yours!

Edit: I should actually say because my comment was otherwise pretty negative, this was a hell of an excellent video, and I 100% do not blame Shen for the cheese, I kinda blame her friend who was in voice and didn't stop her from doing it.

@mauromoura4439 it's the phase transition that pisses me off. Him getting three unavoidable hits is complete bullshit. Especially since it's bleed, meaning it's percentage based. The fact that the only way to mitigate, not even avoid, mitigate the damage is a specific tear found by doing an easily missable questline is what really gets me though. I'm just going to comet azur him and not think twice about it. Love his aesthetic, but otherwise, jesus
god, shenpai's little bird in the background gives me flashbacks to when I was a kid and my mom had a cockatiel. Yes, if you were wondering, Shenpai's noisy ass bird is a cockatiel. I did no research, I can just tell by the noises it makes.
All the Soulsbourne games that Shen played coming togther and having an emotional speech like the end of a multiverse movie was not what I expected to see today.
Anyway 10/10 you're probably a better Elden Ring player than I am.
Just the fact that she beat Elden Beast at level 140 feels insane to me. Like at 140 I'm pretty sure I was trudging through Fire Giant and Shen is pushing through both Radagon and Elden Beast? Like holy shit dude

Mohg is one fight I go out of my way to do because he has the best music imo and he’s my favorite fight outside of the necessary bosses.

My first play through, I was teleported to the rot place and got a halo scythe while trying to level up, loved its look and used the rest of the game :) some pain but I still love that weapon
I will never count Mohg as beaten until she does his phase 2

It has been an honor to witness the shenpai soulsborne series finally come to a satisfying close. Would rewatch again.
Seeing the Mogh cheese again makes me REALLY GLAD they patched that out because good god it's such a good fight and the phase 2 is sick as hell and so many people missed out on it because they took the cheese route.
Majula at the end was simply perfection. And what was even better what the medley of Dark Souls songs.
No debate.
But more Importantly, are you ready for the DLC (Shadow of the Erdtree), Shenpai?

She skipped daddy Mohg, it means that she didn't beat the game.
Mohg is my absolute favorite boss in the game, the phase two transition, the music, the moveset, the fact that it connects to the open world and has a direct counter, everything about it I absolutely love, and I am disappointed beyond compare that she cheesed it like that, missed one of the best phase two fights in the game. I haven't seen if she's done multiple playthroughs and done the fight legit in those, but this just made me sad.

EDIT 1: Still at 37 after Horoah Loux, when common wisdom recommends 40+ by the Mountaintops and 55+ by Endgame for a melee build. Eeyup. I knew she was dying fast. Could be worse though, at least she's close to the first cap of 40.

Fun fact: That annoying homing orb of holy damage that spawns smaller holy projectiles is actually a usable incantation called Elden Stars. It's also considered one of the worst incantations in the entire game, dealing very little damage, costing an unreasonable amount of FP to cast, having an incredibly slow casting animation and also inflicting what is arguably the worst damage type in the game, since the vast majority of strong bosses have high holy damage resistance and the only bosses weak to it are generally quite easy and also optional (also, if you wanted to deal holy damage, there's still much better incantations than Elden Stars).

It’s so great to see shenpai’s entire Elden ring playthrough come to an end. Too bad shenpai’s not around anymore I’m sure she’d have loved Sekiro.
I'm not the majority, but I think out of all of the Souls games I had the most fun with Sekiro. That moment when the gameplay and mechanics just click and you realize what you need to do? One hell of a euphoria rush.
It's kinda funny to me that my favorite souls games are the spin-offs - Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring. Bloodborne's soundtrack still goes so hard that I regularly put it on my playlists.
Bloodborne has the best music in the Soulborne Ring series imo. So many fantastic songs.

Iv always wanted to animate something where each of our dearly departed friends, Solaire, Gherman, Oscar, Shanalotte, everyone, aopears behind the tarnished, and tells them to go fourth and conquer, for those forgotten, for those undone, for those dragged down, for those who are tarnished
Something REALLY cool that happened to another streamer while they were fighting Malenia was that they were using two colossal swords and one had frostbite on it, so malenia jumped up to do the waterfowl, and then the player forced her back to the ground with a jump attack that procced frostbite
It was insane to see live, a true testament of the Strength of strength builds ;)

That cheese for Mohg got patched out before I could get to him. They shortened the gravestone so you can't make the jump anymore. I found a cheese where you can take potshots at him with rot arrows, and left a message on that gravestone to 'try bow'. That cheese has also been patched out, though

Also, gods that sweet baby boy of a Mimic Tear. I so want a mod that makes mine make even half the sounds yours did via editing magic.
Just so you know, it only looks like you created depression because the entire ending was translated improperly.
People read things too literally and a bunch of weebs who didnt understand the meaning of cryptic words blamed mistranslations, but the English translators AND the English voice actors worked directly with Miyazki and the writing team; it says what the creators wanted it to say. Maybe it wasnt as clear as they wanted it to be but it is vague in all versions of the text and not meant to be entirely literal.
Ranni intended to separate the Golden Order, now her order, from the world of the Lands Between, effectively leaving the world to decide its own fate with its ruler far removed among the stars, and she intended to do this alone until the player comes along to become her consort, so yes, the fear, doubt & loneliness was intended, and the vagueness was intended. She wanted to become like a real faraway Moon Goddess, instead of a god like Marika (or Miquella) who actively interferes in and controls the world.
In fact that wasnt even the thing people were confused about, it's the thing she says when you talk to her about the age of stars afterwards that ppl misinterpreted, where she explains essentially that she's removing the power of the Elden Ring/the Golden Order from the world and taking it with her so it cant be seen or felt or believed in anymore. People also read that literally like she's taking away people's ability to see or feel.
I watched her stream on 6/16/24 and she beat the Mohg legitly with no summons. 10/10 super proud
Completely skipped past Mohg because you fought him before, despite having a completely new phase 2 that you've never seen. Didn't even make it to seeing Nihil. Actually really fucking frustrating to watch. Like, I don't mind seeing you cheese if you're really struggling but come on... my favorite boss in the game reduced to ai cheese without even having seen his badass phase 2 moves and transition.
Yeah. It was actually pretty sad to watch here jump over that wall. She didn't get to see the nihil, his new attacks, or his wings. It's easily one of the best bosses, and it feels so disappointing that he was brought down in such a way.
