I have a 2006 Nissan frontier, over 155,000 miles. When I saw the new one, it got my interest, but I wish Nissan didn't cheap out on the interior and some features. When I was younger, my dream truck was a 1989 Nissan Hardbody 4X4 with all the bells and whistles.

I’m really up in the air between the frontier SV and the Colorado zr1 over all what are your thoughts on the 2 and the longevity of the 2 ? Actually this weekend I’m going to test drive the frontier. I love the Tacoma but for long trips I think those seats will eventually kill my back
Just got a 23 sv crew. Definitely impressed with the power and pickup it has. Excited to hopefully get better mpg.. coming out of a 20 Cherokee trailhawk V6... Only got 15 mpg total with that thing. 22 at very best on the highway lol. Which was expected. Liked the vehicle. Appreciate the info ! Excited to own this truck. And I hear they perform well in snow.
Tacoma= cheap c channel frame with on going corrosion issues, gutless v6 with auto transmission hunting for gears, high 30:1 low range, crappy seating position, built in Mexico, declining reliability and Toyota tax. Frontier= titan fully boxed frame , low 60:1 crawl ratio, powerful proven VQ engine, great seating position, Dana 44 rear locker, spicer transfer case, made in USA and priced great for what you get.
Tacoma way over rated , I've hed 3 and won't buy another. Tacoma seats trany and under powered motor sucks ! The new Tacoma 4 banger turbo with electric assit , no thanks . Toyota has gone down hill , sad but very true .
I’ve owned many mid-sized trucks, and Toyota is strong in some regards but definitely overrated. Most think it’s the only option that won’t leave you penniless on the side of the road🙄
@@MeliorIlle I have a 2023 SV crew cab 4x4 6ft bed Nissan frontier and in avg. 20mpg. I’ve been keeping it at around 2000 rpm’s on the highway, and I try not push the pedal to hard, averaging 70mph.
Nissan will replace Toyota as most dependable and sought after because of Toyotas stupid weak boosted 4 cylinder crap. If you have to boost a motor to get it to perform as you would expect, you are doing it wrong. Nissan keeping their V6's and v8, Look for the titan to over take tundra and that POS now. Ill keep my V8 tundra till I die.
What did Nissan do to fix their big recall on these trucks for not being able to shift into park or pop out of park? I know it affected the 9 speed transmission but, I never heard anything about it again.
had mine fixed in about 4 hours, the update they do to the electronics/computer of the truck is more time consuming than the actual repair itself per my repair guy and my car dealer. The issue was with putting the truck in park and having a chance of rolling in park, i never had a problem and was notified immediately when the fix was ready
Having driven both a previous generation Toyota Tacoma, about a 2018 or so, And a brand new 2023 Nissan Frontier SV, I can say I would not buy a Toyota, And toyota, you have some catching up to do because the ride of that new frontier is AMAZING. I made a video about this. I got a really bad head injury and facial damage that caused my slowed speech. I’m working on it but it’s an uphill battle for sure. Thanks for watching.
Drove a 2012 frontier for 12 years. 135k. Zero issues. None. Nada. Well, ok brakes, tires, and a few batteries. That’s it. Solid, bullet proof. The “ugly sister” of the Japanese trucks. Not as popular as the “bro” Tacoma. Traded for a 24 tundra. Why? I’ll never buy Nissan again. Wife’s Sentra blew the CVT just outside of warranty, despite easy, driving and proper maintenance. Nissan did nothing for us. Paid out,of pocket to repair and traded right away. Guess what? We got our money back (class action law suit, for,CVT which btw are still bad and bending installed in new cars). Sooooo….. Nissan wouldn’t fix for free. FRONTIER (D40 & D41):
1) Stronger FULLY-BOXED frame
2) Rear DISC brakes
3) Full STEEL bed
TACOMA:
1) Weaker OPEN C-CHANNEL flexy frame.
