There was 0% chance anyone other than Dylan was going to win that game with those rolls. Seven 4s, three 11s, and zero 8s and 9s. It'd be funny if it wasn't a tournament. Sometimes I question Colonists algorithms...
@@RobertSmith-ow5kf It's much better. 1) it is still fair. 2) there is less variance. Please argue with me, I want to hear some reasons why I'm wrong, not just that I'm wrong.
OMG - 23 turns, I didn't even think it was possible in a 4 player game. I once did 20 turns in a 3 player game in the sheep for ore variant in CU where every roll was just perfect for me. 23 turns in mind blowing
Yeah that’s fax actually. The 6 4 11 is the exact same spot as he went on last time right? Same ports too if I remember correctly, Just switched. Plus the coordinated 4’s too lol
So at the very end you could have pulled to try and get 11. Instead of playing the road building use the YOP for 2 brick. Leaves you two roads, settlement, dev and some extra sheep and ore. So you can dev, then road settle, and then build one more road
This was a realistic dice scenario with or without balanced dice. Games like this will happen 3 times in 100 games. It's very much possible, so pseudo random still holds here and is realistic. It's like he said: he got lucky. If however you play Catan Universe, you get scenarios where you don't get a 5 roll 'at all' in 50+ turns, and other scenarios which have each 0.0000000023% probability to happen, so even getting a scenario like this ONE TIME means that their pseudo-random is garbage, getting it once every 3-4 games like I did is downright absurd. Each would basically be a one-in-a-billion scenario, and I doubt they even have that many games played in total on their servers. When judging pseudo-random, bear in mind sequence probabilities, like the probability that 4 rolls 7 times in 23 turns, which is realistic though unlikely, or the probability that any one dice roll from 1-12 doesn't roll at all in 50 turns, which is absurd. It's these things that tell you if the random algorithm is garbage
But you still made a massive mistake in 10:16 and simply got lucky that the 4 rolled again! You needed to counteroffer the wood:sheep trade for a 2:1 bringing yourself under 8 cards and still having enough sheep to 4:1 them for a wheat 😎
While it doesnt matter obviously at that point anymore, you definitely did 2 giant mistakes. On your 2nd last turn, this dev you bought didnt serve a purpose, by road settling you set yourself up for one road to win the game with your road builder, that dev just delays your victory unless its a vp. And the wood for sheep trade you denied at the very end wouldve given you win in hand, you didnt take it for some reason, and only won bcs you got lucky and rolled something. Think its important to even play optimally in those crushing situations
More points than everyone else combined. Those dice rolls were nuts.
4 player Catan speed run any % world record lmao

No. Balanced dice feature is not dice.

title luckiest game of catan... gets blocked turn 1 for a second there I was thinking there was some sarcasm going on
Sometimes its better to be lucky than good.
Wow, the only numbers that rolled were numbers you were on. Only 4/23 + two 7's rolls were on numbers you weren't on with your initial settles. Crazy
I love this. Played the game you had instead of forcing something that wasn't there. Great game and great vid!
i've seen shorter game but my god this one was great. Love your content Dyl.
that was insane
I love just going back to this video and laughing the whole time haha
Games like that are what make people turn of Catan and think is all luck no skill
Fun occasionally but these can kill games off for new players

The end of game analysis says it all 😂
This is a juicy board
When you double up numbers like this, it’s feast or famine. This is the feast.
At 9:30 when you pull the road card, is blue in just too weak of a position for you to bother plowing him to settle 349?
Literally just 6 turns, what crazy dice rolls!
Married 4s and 11s... brick port option... huh... funny how that turned out so similarly to the last game posted.
Orange be like, well at least i build a road
Man luckiest rolls ever. How can the 11 roll more than the 7
23 turns is insane!
You literally had 6 turns
Second place feels good too.
Would going for 11 points have helped you in the tournament standings?
You should have taken that wood for sheep trade since it was a gueranteed victory. Since you could 4 for 1 for wheat and build using the road building
Never guaranteed when you are over 7
@@JCDeng50 yes true did not notice that but still more likely than the 4 rolling
Had a game like that in final game of local stage of a national tournament but on the receiving end 😬
Ive seen lucky runs, but that was crazy!!!
What did I just watch…
You blink and you miss half the game
That was sort of a slow roll at the end 😆😆
That’s a wild game 😂
Didnt you have the win a Turn earlyer with 3 roads settle?
You can't play a dev card the same turn you buy it and he didn't have 3 roads without the road building.
Craziest lucky game ever. Still though, played it well, got trades, saw the port. More than just luck
Play some Cities & Knights pls, it's better game in all senses, would be fun to watch.
What the heck was orange doing the whole game. No points and a bunch of roads.
He was waiting for the 9 to roll a wheat for him.
Karma for black and blue both scamming you turn 0
probably not in 23 turns, but with these rolls, I think even a bot would have won.
Wtf are those rolls. These seem very, very unlikely for a randomized algorithm
I know it's weird but I find the game rigs it for the person who gets plowed. Seen it so man times.
Kinda feel like the girl during sex, ngl.
That was crazy fast

Title: "the luckiest game"
Video is 11 minutes long.
I just don’t get the logic behind passing on the 5,9,10 with ideas of 10,3,11 or 10,9,11 on the way back
He passed on the 5/9/10 because he knew 9s were not going to roll. He knew it was 4s and 11s

I also don't get why he bought the last dev card. Why would he need a knight? He could've dropped a road and had 6 cards with the win in his hand.
crazy game
nah but why are you using all your luck like that :)'
