This mode is always hit or miss. And I feel like it’s usually not very close
Opponent was so salty, lol. Sometimes you just get bad rolls, that's the way it goes.
Damn im sooo ashamed. Its me :D but im a nice guy trust me :D. I remember this day specifically. love strategy games (chess, catan..) and i play poker for a living (i had big downswing at that time and i was feeling frutrated). But i think i was a little mad cuz i couldnt pull a single important knight that game, and i was trying to mono your dev card material cards but couldnt, since you always could buy a knight after your roll (the sheep mono was i believe to retake the army asap since i had 2 :D, i was deffinitly counting cards, but cant rly remember since it has been over 2 weeks i believe) Still it wasnt cool from me, sometimes im salty in chat but thats just the passon for the game talking, nothing personal. Im a huge fan, and i ve seen all the videos couple of times. I got into colonist io thanks to you in the first place. I appologize to catan community, and if anyone ll ever meet me in the game just say my plays are total garbage i deserve it :D

You got so lucky what the hell. Starting without all 5 resources is quite bad in 1v1 unless you have a full OWS set up and can pull for early expansion.
Also you should always ensure you have a knight before you hit 3 points and can be blocked. If you get blocked with no knight then you are just praying for a 7, the problem is that the opponent has much higher chance of buying a knight first and therefore can keep you blocked the whole game.
This game mode is busted once you start to get hit with 7s 💀💀💀💀

This is crazy, I knew there had to be battles & catan overlap, it makes sense for me. Even though I quit battles like a year after they removed farm glitch, so a long time ago, but still.
Nice one! Watching you helped me reach a new peak for 1v1 rating, as i had underestimated OWS in this mode before. i do think no-wheat setups can be strong if you can quickly build onto a good amount of wheat, so that you'll only have to 4-for-1 once.
that was such a trash starting setup, but it does show the importance of a strong port or multiple strong ports in the 1 vs 1 game. There will be no trades so you need to be able trade efficiently with the bank. The ELO system is totally jacked in Colonist, they put way to much weight on your first 10 games to give you a starting ELO. If you do really well in the first 10 games you will close to the very top, but it you only win like 3 out of 10 you, you could have to win 20 straight games to get into the top 100.
Super cool animations and presentation effects! It's my first time seeing those.. to be clear.. these are not provided by the base engine right? Obviously.. Are many people using these? Did you happen to make all those yourself? I was watching it and thought to myself.. that's really cool.. I could do that.. with ChatGPT I could probably do that in 5 minutes today ;p But kudos for doing it one year ago! That took effort! And it looks great. Are you actioning the arrows in real time or in post-prod? It's superbly synced with the action!

I think you should have also mentioned another main rule change: 15 points, 9 cards, friendly robber AND BALANCED DICE. This is an important aspect to understand that your 3's and 11's are more valuable than a normal game
And you did mention it at the 6 minute mark... nvm
balanced dice does not make low-probability numbers more valuable

Why are you seriously using gambler's fallacy to make decisions? The ranked modes use completely random dice.
They use balanced dice so gamblers fallacy directly apply here. If a lot of 6’s rolls it’s a lot less likely they’ll come in the future.

@@Ohrami I do not think they use balanced dice in 4p cus often we roll 12 more than 6,8 and with valanced that should not be possible
