Silly predictions just gives 2 points. 1. that Oda made a very deep story that it needed this wtf theories and how he made it all make sense. 2. It just shatters the emotion that Oda wants you to feel because you already knew from these predictions.

    • @AHeranam
      @AHeranam 4 роки тому +16

      Bogglemanify tbh its actually nice that one piece community is making a lot of stuff for just an anime imagine the variety someone making theories and someone making analysis , it make everyone engage , having to talked while waiting for another chapter or a manga break. I think because of the community or the fans itself it makes one piece one of the successful because the fans was a lot of content to talked about and it makes every fans active or else they gonna left behind. Kpop fandom are very successful because despite no comeback or album the fans are active because they create contents while their idols have no project. Aside from one piece , i love the community too (of course not the toxic fans) because how establish it is in all social media platform from wiki chat, reddit, youtube, facebook and twitter fans are active, the contributory effect of it is making one piece still relevant even after 2 decades. In the end its a win win situation for both oda and the the community. I think this is the only anime that you cannot just talked about stories and theories but also the characters.

      @@WtJah Well the problem with manga like shounen jump, is that there are thousands of writers who are just trying to get their start and published in the magazine. They're so focused on getting momentum and attracting attention that they don't have the luxury of thinking of an ending. The conclusion may be amazing, but if you get axed before it all comes together, it's basically all for nothing.
      Oda is such a legend that he can take weeks off at a time to make a great path to a conclusion, is because he's NEVER gonna be in danger of getting axed.

    • @othamneil8958
      @othamneil8958 Рік тому

      @@Andrea-mm8df In spite of the sheer length, the story arc of Wano is very rushed. There's a lot of plot threads that got left hanging and didn't get properly tied up. The first was Big Mom's rivalry with Luffy. There's also the Big Mom crew that was trying to climb up the waterfall. What happened to them? The Third Act of Wano is also somehow still continuing even though Kaido is already defeated. Normally in samurai stories, you defeat the big bad in Act 4. Zoro was not given enough focus in terms of his connection to the Shimotsuki Clan, the Shimotsuki Village, and Wano in general. There is no rhyme or reason for why arguably the strongest of the nine scabbards, Ashura Doji, would die of a small explosion. The fight against the Numbers could benefit if they were given more time to shine, particularly the fight between Jinbei and Who's Who.

    beautiful. As I have always said Oda is not writing a simple story. Years from now, like 50-100 years from today. People will look back and see Oda as one of the greatest writers of all time. Very few people in history can say they have written epics to the scale Oda has.
    Alexandre Dumas comes to mind when I think of Oda. Dumas was the writer of The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. Legendary titles nowadays but when they were first being released they came out in parts, serialized, almost like Manga are today. Alexandre Dumas is now considered one of the greatest writers in the world. I imagine in about 50 years someone will have collected all of One Piece into one big volume and then there will be abridged versions that kids in middle school have to read and do projects on.
    It all sounds so far fetched but I recognize the epic scale of this story and it matches the epic scale of all the other greats. Oda will go down in history.

      I am surprised you mentioned Dumas but not Tolkien. Lotr is considered by many as the benchmark of fantasy epic and Middle earth has the scale and scope that rivals the world of One piece. Oda is my all time favourite writer and Tolkien is a very close second.

    To me Oda always read as the kind of writer who comes up with characters and writes the story around them, rather than having an idea and creating a character with Oda it always seemed like the character came first. Oda has always seemed like someone who jots a billion characters down and comes up with intricate stories for all of them and his eyes are bigger than his appetite. This however in no way negates how well he integrates all these characters but to me Oda adding characters to the story works similar as to how Luffy looks for crew members “Oooh it would be so cool to have a skeleton that plays music!” “And a cool cyborg guy!”

    Another arc which is brilliant in foreshadowing and themes but underrated is fishman island arc. I mean not only Arlong, jimbei and Hachi were well established in east blue saga but even Fishman tiger was mentioned in a minor throwaway line by Boa hancock. Also Oda doesn't just reveal to us the suffering of fishmen but instead let us experience it first hand through the eyes of Camie and hachi in Shabody arc.

    i feel like the reason oda is so successful is because he has so many final ideas. yes i'm sure many authors have a final arc final chapter idea, and work their way towards it. but they only have 1 if any, and when they reach it, they don't know where to go after that. either the manga finishes, or they try to come up with new arcs with only months of preparation. On the other hand, Oda has many later on arcs planned, and step by step building the plot to reach each of those planned arcs, one by one. And since he has so much time before he reaches the end, he is able to think of new ideas and add them to the current story and make it even better.

    The most outstanding thing about Oda imo isn't his overarching stories length, depth, planning, vast amount of characters. To me the most insane thing is he maintains ALL OF THAT QUALITY in all those aspects while at the same time he draws professional quality chapters weekly. Most other manga's stories simply do not have such depth behind their stories and the directions are much more simplified which makes sense for how much work it already is to draw. But that man Oda is crazy one, it's like he plans, researches, and writes like novelist on top of drawing constantly, pretty crazy.

    Oda's way of story-writing reminds 2(3) people: Hirohiko Araki, and Matt Stone/Trey Parker.
    Matt and Trey talk about their "But and Therefore" rule, and I feel like Oda crank this thing up to near perfection. You can feel the connection to everything that happened. That one event is connected to another through a logical explanation based on what is happening in the world of One piece.
    Meanwhile, Araki talked about the fundamentals of manga writing in his book where he said that the cores are "Themes, Character, Story, and Setting" with Art holding it together, but with the highest priority given to character to the point that Araki made a character sheet for every character in his story. Oda has that feeling too that each character in One Piece feels like there's their own world just like reality, each having their own story.
    Oda's story takes a lot of time to pick up steam, but once it does, you feel rewarded for actually following and focusing on the stories as "no stones are left unturned".

    Mr. 2, in particular, feels like he was either a longtime intention or specifically a means of tieing together story beats. When you compare Mr. 1 and Mr. 3's involvement in Impel Down and the summit war to Mr. 2, their returns are much more single-note, and the other noteworthy's in the organisation (Mr. 4 & 5, Miss Doublefinger, Valentine, Golden-Week & Merry-Christmas) simply have a manga tie-up chapter before being forgotten about. I think Mr. 2 being where he be is a trend of Oda's where he puts an ensemble cast together for the arc, and picks out and accordingly deepens the character of a couple of them for involvement in future arcs as well. Hatchi and Arlong are good examples, as are Laboon and Crocus, Dorry and Broggy, Moriah, Perona and Ryuma, and even Sakazuki during the Ohara flashback.

      Step 4. Have a plan for every character to get stronger that isn’t an ass pull or something out of character for example Sanji’s raid suit .
      Step 6. Don’t write Backwards .
      Step 7. Don’t skip things that the fans would want to see . As well as don’t skip things in general .
      Step 8. Don’t rush things .

      2)He never said this. Stop falling for Big News Morgans' lies.
      3)He hasn't, you're just not looking at the larger picture.
      4)The only asspull so far is Asura. And even then, if it works thematically along with the nature of your story, go for it.
      5)Proofread the stuff you write so you don't look like you can't count.
      6)If you mean the standard technique where writers set a goal and backtrack their way into how they'll begin the story then yes, totally do that.
      7)Never write for the fans. Write what you want to write. The fans change their opinion at the drop of a hat.
      8)Even though the massive criticism being pinned on One Piece throughout the years was, "it's too slow"? This is proof of point 7.

I like all your videos, but I look foward the most to these kind of videos. I still re-watch the one about fight-patterns every so often looking for inspiration in shonen-like fights. And this one seems like a go-to to any writer.

    Freaking- I- Ok wait! You can literally reuse this logic on any character! Like- Sabo was reintroduced during the arc that thematically is focused on forgetting and familial connection. His primary purpose was to retrieve something that connects himself and his younger brother to the past they both remembered in order to, later on, fight with that brother in retrieving other people's memories. Who better to fight a corrupt monarchal system that steals away your memories of another person's life than Sabo?! Someone who- in contrast to Doflamingo- pushes away from the corrupt controlling systems he was born into and now is in a position to assist others in regaining their pasts against someone too powerful to protect yourself from? WOW
