+fightTIPS But one thing more bro, i felt really very motivated by seeing your video, thanks for showing such a skill, you are really skipping like a champ !
Kris Vickers not even 😂. I knew how to do all of these tricks fast and slow backwards as well just in a day or 2. And I don't even have a speed rope just a basic rope. And I listing to music while doing and so I don't have to listen the click on the jump rope. And if you don't believe just do about one hour a day doing jump rope while doing tricks.
Great tip on just getting into a rhythm. I finally bought a weighted rope today to add to my workout routine. Never jumped rope before today and the few times I did back in my kid days I was AWFUL lol. But definitely am committed to learning this and getting better. So again thanks for the tips. All about the rhythm.
Yoobin Lee, get a plastic segmented rope for concrete and you can even take the segments off and put them on a speed rope so now you have plastic segments on a speed rope you can use on concrete that will last.
Awesome job here-I genuinely believe that if you get into jump roping you've found an effective cardio workout for life! Just keep your diet in check, and you're all good.
I'm an Asian female and just started boxing. And for me the most difficult part is skipping rope! Skipping rope is MUCH harder than learning how to ride a bike. My eyes went 0_0 when I saw this guy, Shane during this video. His rope skills are incredible!
I used to jump rope a lot as a kid, it was super popular at my school. Never thought I would get back into it, but here I am lol. Thanks for this video it's super great, I can't wait to get started!
Super helpful! I just started rope jumping and I figured I might as well get the basics right from the get-go instead of trying to reinvent the wheel myself. That skipping thing where you just shift from one foot to the other, I'm still having trouble figuring that out because my timing is off, but practice makes perfect haha. Anyway, thanks a lot. I hope to be as good as you are at this one day.
the best how to skip like a boxer video on youtube. The others i have watched just dont have the same tutorial progression and flow. Keep up the good videos
Dude yes!!!!!! This is extremely helpful. Being a heavy guy it's already awkward jumping roping but now I can actually watch this and learn how to do it proper. Much thanks and love the vids!
Im a begginer and one day ill be able to jump like that with no problem. Just have to work hard for it. It also looks good for a cardio workout after strenght training!
Ive been looking for someone to break down the "getting the rhythm of jumping rope right" for yonks, and your video was really useful, i tried it and it really helped. Will keep doing it! Thanks Shane!
Hi, thanks for a very informative guide to jumping rope. I have been able to master basic jumps but I've always had a problem with timing. The alternate step has never worked for me so your advice is priceless. hopefully I'll be able to skip past a hundred steps when I practice in the morning. cheers!
I remember jumping rope when I was younger. I was soooooo good!!! My favorite was double Dutch. The funny thing is that I was slender with muscular legs. Now it's been 8 years and I can barely do it as good as I once did.
Thanks man, just got my speed rope in the mail and I didn’t even think of the squats or lunges until this video! I do parkour/freerunning, martial Arts Tricking, trampoline,
with enough motivation, determination and practice, these can all be attained within your workouts in only 3-4 days. I started on a Saturday, and ended up doing the majority of these various exercises on Tuesday. Its fun, addictive and great to do, try it out!!
Agree! One jump for rotation... even slower even clumsy at the beginning but get that right or you're gonna end up doing double jumps forever. It took me ages correcting my bad routine.
I used to be able to do all these tricks when I was a kid at recess. Now that I’m tryna do it again after all these years it’s like it left my muscle memory
I've been so focused on getting my 9 minutes and and feeling energized after that I haven't learned many tricks. Thanks for vid, in inspired to get to the Mike Tyson move.
I just taught myself how to jump rope when I went to train for boxing. I haven't tried other tricks yet because I haven't even mastered the basic. It's been 2 months and I want to perfect 1 form first before exploring
I started jumping rope when I was in the Marines. I liked it way more than running. I was more tired in half the time and my knees didn't hurt. I was doing 21 minute 3 mile runs but jumping rope wore me out way faster. I need to get back in it.
I was on a FaceTime with my cousin last night and he was trying to teach me how to jump rope like a boxer and I couldn’t get the rhythm but when I jus finished watching this I did it like it was nothing thanks man ✊🏾
This has been incredibly helpful. Great stuff to get the juices flowing first thing in the morning. I frankly did this wrong for years... But hey, it's better to figure it out late than never.
I started 4weeks ago.. And i can do criss cross and double unders.. Best double unders record = 30sec-81skips Best fastest skipping record = 135 - in 1 min.. Will Keep updating my progress
You make it look so easy man. I did jump rope yesterday.. I had no rythm and my calfs/thighs are killing me. Barely walk uo the stairs Lol... I will try and master this.
Thanks man, just got my speed rope in the mail and I didn’t even think of the squats or lunges until this video! I do parkour/freerunning, martial Arts Tricking, trampoline, and stunts in general, i like fast paced things and these are great exercises to get my conditioned for my stunts thanks man⚡️
Your voice actually sounds exactly like Adam Schefter from ESPN's NFL coverage, it's amazing! Or his voice sounds like yours haha, great job in this video, loved the tips!
starts training and I've had tons of trouble finding my rhythm but thanks for the video I've been doing better and trying to just find my rhythm before actually jumping
if you haven't jumped rope since you were 5, and now you're an out of shape adult, you will be shocked at how great of a work out you can get, when i returned to jump rope at 25, i could barely last 30 seconds, it's so great.
Awesome video man. I could always skip real fast do the double under and impress friends but couldn't do the cross over or the side trick. This video did the job. Cheers
Really nice work! So I did this kind of workout this morning since running is out while I rehab a hip flexor and DAMN my calves are screaming now! Just the DOMS. I'll be good to go again in a day or two and then I am finally going to master the criss cross.
Lol I'm here cause yesterday I took my first muay thai lesson and I had to skip rope as warm-up but I suck at it! Last time I jumped a rope I was a kid lol I guess I just need to practice like a lot.
I may have never commented on a youtube before, but this was just perfectly helpful! Very well done! Thanks so much! My kids are inspired to begin their work towards being the next Nick Woodards!
I learnt loads of these when i was i school, picked up a rope again after 10 years and boom, instant muscle memory hahaaaa the body is a great thing cool vid man
@FightTips - i finally got it after watching your video sometimelast year "hahaha" yeah i know right. I keep what you said in the back of my mind while trying to stop double jumping! Now I understand everything that you're talking about in these videos finding the rhythm and everything!!i just wanted to say ("thank you")!!!
I remember when i was at boxing i had rope jumps, and these methods in the video suit for boxers, they are pretty hard to do... :|, but if you'll practice alot you'll be able do it!
I have been boxing for a year and a half now everyday for 3.5 hours. I usually do 10, 3 min rounds of boxing and i seriously suck at jumproping I can do the cross overs and can keep a good pace for a whole round but I can not switch my feet with out tripping by the 3rd or 4th jump. My coach has me doing box jumps and scissor jumps to build up my ankles more and to help coordinate my feet but I still suck. some of the other guys at my gym have told me about getting into a rhythm but I'm just super uncordinated. I always wondered why new guys should the hang of it on there very first try or by there second week.
I'm terrible at jumping rope. Worst is barefoot and hit you toes. Thanks for the tips.
Haha that sting is the WORST.
sting hurts, but it's what motivates you to keep on going, atleast for me :p
+Kru Raider I'm good at it but I don't jump rope often because everytime I do,I hear the ROCKY training theme and now I'm mentally distracted.Ha!
Troy Timmer so am I

I LIKED WHAT HE SAID TOWARDS THE END.."DON'T GET FRUSTRATED"
THAT'S WHAT I ALWAYS GET WHEN I FAIL IN THIS :)

+fightTIPS But one thing more bro, i felt really very motivated by seeing your video, thanks for showing such a skill, you are really skipping like a champ !
I got so fucking exited and hype when I finally learned the secret when cross crossing lol

Abul Rahat I'm having trouble with the running in place concept. I have no idea how to do that.
SimplySour I call REAL LIFE HACKS!
it takes like 2-3months to get this level. they aren't advanced moves.

If you are going to jump on concrete don't use a speed cable the constant contact with concrete wares it out fast
Yoobin Lee, get a plastic segmented rope for concrete and you can even take the segments off and put them on a speed rope so now you have plastic segments on a speed rope you can use on concrete that will last.
Dude you're right ... ripped through my speed rope completely in roughly a month .. lots of hours of cardio work outside lol😅
