I honestly think this guy has a natural talent in being able to explain anything in a humble manner, by breaking things up, making everything seem easy!!! He really gets to the point and focuses on the tricky parts, always making sure to give you a proper introduction of what is about to follow...and then, just like that...everything becomes crystal clear!! Wish he was my...math teacher back in the days!! 😜 Absolutely love his videos!! Top of the top!! Keep up the amazing job man!!!
Yeah he's the best! I started my training by watching his vids then got a coach. My coach was pretty impressed with where I was and just had to clean up a few things... If Van were anywhere near me I'd pony up the money to hire his expertise. The man's a thinker.
This is without a doubt the best jump rope tutorial on UA-cam. You're also the first person to say that single leg skipping is harder than double leg skipping at the same time which is true but the other tutorials claim that double leg is harder. You've also explained how to swing the rope from side to side. This is great content so I'm subscribing..
Great video. Thanks for sharing. With 15 years kickboxing and 6 years boxing experience I thought I pretty much knew about skipping. Just shows there's always something new to be learned.
I wrote the comment that follows this one. I neglected to mention that I am a retired firemedic who now works as a patient transporter. Essentially I push people on stretchers to their various testing sites at a local hospital three days a week. For about four months now - on my days off - I’ve been working out a little and jumping rope. Your videos inspire me. That, and a patient that I met who bikes 8 miles a day, plays tennis, and boxes (or at least hits the heavy bag and speed bag, etc.). He is 92 years old. Keeping him in mind I have no excuse for not doing anything. After all, age-wise I’m just a baby, a mere 64.
Dope. This + your 'Learn to Skip Rope in 30 Days' videos are the best jump rope tutorials on YT, hands down. Great explanations & detailing of progressions.
While being self-isolated, my favourite sports in the winter are shut down: swimming and skiing. I was looking for a way to get cardio at home and thought of skipping in my garage. I've tried it before in a park. My rookie efforts made a little girl (who'd lost all her top front baby teeth) sitting some yards away with her mom laugh so hard. It was that cartoon-sounding machine gun laugh. She may have blown a snot bubble. I walked home, head down, humiliated. Anyways, I'm ready to dust off and try again. I don't know if you've ever searched for "skipping for beginners" but the amount of d-bags that show up in the top results made me wanna punch them. This video is brilliantly explained with humility -- a rare trait these days. Thanks. Stay safe.
Man, I've been skipping rope for nearly two years now and in my arrogance, I thought I would learn nothing with this video, but I've learned a lot in cleaning up my form. First, I don't think I've ever seen anyone demonstrate the side-to-side like that. It's so much cleaner to do it twice on one side. I found I was losing a lot of my speed whenever I did side-to-side. So much so that I only used it on slower rhythmns. Thanks for that. Also, I never thought to change my form for the orange rope. Here I was thinking "I need to suck it up and build up my wrist strength for this" instead of changing my grip. Really, this was informative and very clearly demonstrated. You have my sub.
Thanks so much for an inspiring skipping video, the best. At 62 years I have always loved skipping. This has motivated me to up my intensity with excellent techniques. Thank for the great tips. Awesome!
WOOOOOW man .... I want to watch this 10 times! it is soo good. I will not give up learning how to jump rope like a boxer. You are a true inspiration. Bless your soul.
great crossrope promo vid from one of most respected utube trainers! showcasing abilities of various types of ropes with skipping moves and techniques multiplied by explanations and demostrations super easy to understand and implement! Well done! Thanks a lot JT
JT, you are a great instructor. Thank you for posting this. One suggestion, though: You may want to place the camera back just a bit in the future so that your feet are always in the frame. This is just a small little detail, but as you are obviously concerned with the details that improve skipping and boxing skills, I hope you appreciate it. Thanks again.
this guy is by far the best trainer ive seen on line all his videos are bang on the money and so well explained god knows how good his training sessions are... 👌
this is the best skip rope for boxing tutorial i have found! I've been doing boxing, but couldn't quite get a grip on the various skipping techniques. Your explanations and demonstrations are a great help!! thanks so much! subscribed!!
THanks so mucho for this tutorial. Today i am able to jump 20 minutes non-stop. Now i am practicing with heavy rope too. Jump rope became my way to have fun with workouts. Thank you so much!
Your a great teacher your students are very lucky to have a boxing coach like you. I’m 48 and I need to lose a bit of weight so I will incorporate your skipping drills into my training program and hopefully with a well balanced diet and motivation I will improve my cardio and lose some weight at the same time. Keep up the great videos and thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! I've been into martial arts and jumping rope since I was a kid, but had to take some time off due to some bad injuries... after my medics and physiotherapist gave me the green light to go back to the matts, I wanted to restart jumping, but couldn't find how to do a consistent job with the fundamentals and movements. Your video really helped me out, thanks a lot! God bless you!
im not a boxer but have been skipping rope for about 3 yrs and feel like it's one of the best cardio workouts there is......i used to go through a rope every 3 months.......wife bought me the crossropefor Christmas and love it by far the best rope i have ever used

If you’re a beginner beginner, do the basic skip for about a week or two until you master it. Then try doing the other styles. It’ll be much easier (still challenging), and you won’t get discouraged. Great video!!!
Best lesson ever thank you dude...you sum it all up better then dozen of video I saw before. Your my champ swear....way to go I name you best teacher trainer ever
Excellent video, thank you! I am not a boxer, but not new to jumping either. Your video added a variety of steps that I will incorporate into my workout. My son will also benefit from this video to increase his endurance for soccer. Appreciate the detail.

Very useful video, simply cover everything I need to know as a beginner, building up skills step by step, I find it even better than some other pure '' Rope skipping channel'', they show you all kinds of tricks and looks cool, but very few of them give full detailed explanation from scratch.
awesome video sir. loved it. everything taught is such gr8 detail. and i was trying to find this kind of tutorial for months now. thanks again. you r awesome.

Well said
You would skip rope, instead of Math?
This has to be the most comprehensive skipping video I’ve come across in the context of boxing. Thanks for the great work!

"I hated every minute of training, but I said, Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion." ~Muhammad Ali
Wonderful quote..!👌
True but a lot of people find training fun
What's the point in doing training without having fun.
U should put ur heart in to it what lever u r doing... If not it means u r cheating...
Right... Achieve every minutes of training, never think of the result and reasons
instead he lived the rest of his life with Parkinson's
What the hell jumping rope for almost an hour without fail someone give this man a medal 🥇

Buy and ride a bicycle and you will never look like a fool.
Thats your first problem, caring what people think about you
