I'm a jump roper, not a boxer. I have to let you know that this is an absolutely excellent video tutorial!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate that 🙌🏻
Solid video. The analogy of the boxer step to walking vs hopping with two feet was simply brilliant and helped mentally clinch some key concepts.

Hey thanks so much for your comment and support! So glad you are enjoying the channel. How long have you been boxing for?
@@PullmansGym I'm a beginner and it's only been 15 days since I started just focusing on the technique of jab and cross
Edit: any tips for beginners who just started learning boxing?
Oh very cool. My best advice would be, boxing like most things is from the ground up. Really get your stance and balance right, your basic footwork. Goodluck to you!
@@PullmansGym thank you 👍🏻
Thanks
Back at it
You know it 🔥

That sounds affect at the start made me jump , Jesus 😂😂 thought someone was breaking in my house
🤣🤣
the last one is indeed very hard i did 5 or six jumps without a robe and im already exhausted. but i will practice it everyday to improve my stamina its indeed very hard but it's doable if you practice it everyday.
That’s exactly right, it just takes practice but you keep it up and you will get there
Watching this a year after you posted it. I am a young man hoping to become a boxer one day. This video really helped me. Thank you
Thank you so much for watching the video and for your comment. We're so happy to hear it helped you! Best of luck to you in your boxing! 👍
Just want to know I m skipping with bare foot (without shoes) is it a good practice
Great vid. Why does Mr Zuniga swish the rope to each side before he starts skipping each time?
Thank you for your question! He does that to catch his rhythm before he starts to jump. It can also be used as a way to take a break during your jumping if needed without fully stopping.
Interesting
Thank you!

I never needed to learn to jump rope, I just seemed to know how, naturally. I could even sprint while alternating feet, no problem, just seemed natural. I could even alternate feet, while alternating heel-toe. Since my total hip replacement, I just cannot alternate feet. Should I face the fact that I never will, or is it possible through drills, and which ones. BTW - great video tutorial.
A hip replacement and you are still making your way to jumping rope is impressive! Just take it easy and do the best you can. Thanks so much for your support!
@@PullmansGym :)
Absolute fantastic Tutorial! 👌🏻🙂 THANX from fucking Germany!
👍
🙌🏻👍🏻
I bought a jump rope. Is there a certain length it needs to be? I'm 5'5.5.
Thank you for your question! I really believe it’s personal preference. A longer rope gives you more room for error and is a little harder to spin. A shorter rope has less room for error and is easier to spin. The way I like to pick a rope is I like to find the middle point of the rope and hold the handles up, if they go to about my chest then it’s a good length. Hope this helps!

this is a good video...but HOW LONG DO BOXERS JUMP ROPE FOR IN TOTAL
Thanks for your question! It really just depends on the type of workout. You can use it as a warmup to start your workout, you can use it at the end of your workout as a shake out for some extra cardio. Sometimes you can use it in the middle of your workout for cardio purposes or to practice your coordination and footwork. 2-3 rounds is a good starting point and you can work your way up.
Thank you for your support of our channel!
The rope seems to be relatively long. Is there an optimal length if the rope to check out before starting?
I would say it’s really a preference. Longer rope is a little more work on your arms but a shorter room has less room for error. My personal preference, what I like to do when I pick a length of the rope is stand in the middle of the rope, hold it up and make sure it measures to about my chest area. Thanks for your question!
Does both feet go up at the same time while skipping ?
Thank you for your question! When you are skipping, they don't go at the same time, it goes one after the other, you are sort of alternating. Imagine just normal skipping without a jump rope, similar idea.
@@PullmansGym I dont know if I’m doing it right here ? ua-cam.com/users/shorts_ZtIiVSYTFI?feature=share
@@Robjohnnetwork that’s definitely one way of doing it, that’s a good way of jumping too. As far as skipping goes specifically, you may want to alternate your feet a little more frequently. Nice job!
@@PullmansGym appreciate it man, it’s a lot of practice!
I have possibly the strongest legs but I can’t skip for hell. Think my defence and reflex’s such ass
guys for jumping rope like a boxer just become a boxer
Thanks
Thank you!
