- Angela Lansbury and Danny Kaye compare London and Brooklyn accents in "A Buddy By the Name of You" from 1964 TV. This is two years before her spectacular Broadway success in "Mame".
You've found a lost treasure! These two wonderful talents are terrific together.
Ohhhh, this is wonderful! They're so cute together!
The chemistry of these two artists together is superbly well done. Danny RIP. Thanks for sharing this gem.
Thank you so much for uploading this! ❤ Angela and Danny 🧡
Great duo. They are legendary.
Wow two of My Favorite People in Show Business.
A great duo showing al lthat is good with showbiz !!
O My! This was fabulous!
good song
Well, if this is an example of total charm, I don't know what is. Kaye and Lansbury show off their star power and have terrific chemistry. They make this number seem effortless but it is extremely complicated going from singing to comedic dialogue, and ending with choreography in counterpoint. The work they put in on the number during the rehearsal period totally pays off in this taping. Of course, they're helped by a great song, witty writing, a sweet concept, nifty choreography, clever costuming, and a swinging musical arrangement. How I miss entertainment such as this. I wish, somehow, someone would release the entire Danny Kaye series.
every thing Danny Kaye did is extremely complicated - high quality entertainment. Hard work.
I would definitely pay for a DVD set of his show. The ma was a genius.
Classic show biz and as someone from the U.K. I thought it’s brilliant for it’s time 👍
Early shades of Mrs. Lovett!! They were brilliant.
Cuteness overload

Greatness ❤

Fabulous
Right before Angela got lead role in Mame.. just super.
Charming, Comically RIP.
❤️❤️
This is all the more poignant in that the theme music to "The Danny Kaye Show" was "Life Couldn't Better Be," the opening (and closing) number of "The Court Jester," starring Danny Kaye, Glynnis Johns, and Angela Lansbury.
"The vessel with the pestle has the pellet with the poison...."
Get it?
Angela sounds like Edith Bunker!
