Me after playing a whole game with my pulled muscle:😃
LMAOO me too
Me too
Welcome me to the club
Fax just happened to me today
today played a game with pulled muscle need to recover
Summary:
- there are 3 phases
1) immediate = stop right away. Do not stress the muscle any more. Cool it.
2) up to 72 hours cooling. Not stressing the muscle. Elevate the muscle above your heart.
3) after 72 hours: use warmth, stretching, massaging, foam rolling
Thank you for that summary.
How do I stretch and massage my delts
Damn i did everything he said not to do Stretched it the day I pulled it and took a hot bath
Omg me too! I thought I was the only one! Starting on day 2 after injuring my hamstring. I’m just gonna act like yesterday didn’t happen 🤣
I stretched it after I tore my hammy and then tried to play football like a few days after
@@radu9135 did u do it without pain or did I have to stop playing again
Lol
@@infinitstratos399 are u fully healed?
staying positive is the most important thing. i tore my calf 3 days ago , it sucks, it hurts, but im gonna focus on the healing like you said an listen to what my body needs an wants.
Yes you said it positive mindset towards the situation is the foundation of your recovery.
I'm on my way to tearing my Achilles, so I'm actually trying to find ways to prevent that from happening. Naturally, rest would help, but I also don't want to lose all my recent calf gains by taking a few weeks off. I'm trying to find the right rep quantity to strengthen and heal the injured area without causing further damage or losing muscle / tendon strength.
Prevention is always better than recovery. 7 months later, I hope you're calf is back to full strength ;)
@@ProgressiveSoccer how long did it take to heal?
I am so glad I found this video. I did not do the right thing the first three days after I pulled my hamstring and it got way worse. Now I’m on track and to healing. Thank you!
How long did it actually take you to recover
@@atfm1558 how long did yours take ?
@@nikitadimitrov5042 how long did yours take?
@@ilikeoranges8784 well the ache has gone away quite quick - I would say like a week and a bit. But I had a little feeling in my muscle when I would suddenly move or stretch it for weeks. Thankfully, I’m fully back in training and I’m not really feeling anything strange in that area anymore. Have a quick recovery
@Nikita dimitrov thanks bro, I'm feeling better after 3 days
My thigh is killing meeeee
I’m praying right now I pulled my right leg and I need to recover in two weeks to play my last two tournaments with my boyhood team before it completely dissolves I want to say my proper goodbyes and I’m praying I can get back
did u get back?
@@ratch3671 no, he had to amputate his entire leg
... :(
@@PALZYT what?
So what happened
In 2 week he was fine it heals in between 1 week or 2 I’m good now in 1 week depends if he tried to heal it properly
this single video has helped me more than any other video or website I’ve seen combined. thank you all the information in this video was so helpful
Getting injured SUCKS.
However, it's crucial that you don't let it get you down.
You need to stay positive through this frustrating process.
Use the advice in this video to heal your injury faster and get back to playing the game you love.

Got injured Augest 2015 still injured it started out as a bone injury but that healed but the muscle around the bone hurts and feels so weak I am still waiting for it to heal :(
It hurts 24/7 as well
You should make a video about mentallity in a soccer game.
The day after my injury, I couldn't bend my knee more than 80 degrees so I saw a doctor and they said two months best to avoid playing. But it has been only one week and I already started playing. Still have a light swelling though. Should I play I felt perfect though.
Pulled my hammy while doing sprints and omg this helped thank you so much
773 ohh just wondering how long it took for your hamstring to heal? And was it a upper, lower, mid or total hamstring injury? I also injured mine for the first time doing sprints but it was only slight. That was over a year ago. Now I have injured it twice in the last two months. Today being the most recent and the pain is unbearable. I can’t walk or sit I’m just laying down. This sucks!!! I was just starting to train again, not able to run but doing other things. Now back to square one. 😞
@@yikesmoody Seems like 99% of hamstring injuries are due to inactive or weak glutes! After your rehab, try doing some glute activation and strengthening exercises like Barbell Hip thrusts.

Ajay J Thanks. I’ve actually watched a lot of this physical therapist’s videos for posture and neck shoulder pain. My old PT recommended him. Weird thing is I’ve always had pretty strong glutes compared to my quads? Or at least I thought!? Lol. I’m 15 days out, still in a lot of pain and have bruises up and down my entire hamstring. This sucks! Thanks for the advice!
Stephanie Moody 2 weeks. It was mid and I kept my hamstring strong by doing some rehab exercises but yea that sucks. Especially in this time of quarantine
773 ohh Glad your doing better! Ugh I was so hopeful that I’d be rehabbing by now but I just got the swelling to go down after 2 weeks, do t think I’m ready yet .Yeah this is especially hard with quarantine
This video helped me so much, I pulled a muscle at a tournament today, but I saw you're video yesterday and I knew what to do and I feel much better now. Thank you!!!
THANK YOU for this video, I've gotten about 3 muscle strains in the last 2 years, and they are HORRIBLE. The wait is painful, and two of them happened from not warming up properly, my own fault.
How long did the pain last had my first thigh strain ever 8 weeks ago played on for two weeks with pain and then rested 6 weeks came back to training last week did a few sprints and injured again now it's a week later feels 100 with no pain but I'm scared to even jog
@@eatsleepbreathefootball7257 how you're doing are you 100% or still not
Same with me. Without warm up started playing pickleball and tennis. And popped by calf muscle. Even though I had long bike ride and tennis a day before playing i thought warm up is not necessary before playing pickleball but boy i was wrong. Before each physical exercise, it is very important to warm up for at least 5 to 10 mins.
5 I one year beat that
Thank you for this video! I was a little bit too Enthusiastic at the gym the other night. I was dancing and pulled some muscle on the side of my leg. I didn’t feel anything until the next day when I started feeling shooting pains going up my leg. It’s on the right side.
These are helpful tips and I’m gonna rest it for the next couple of days.
I just pulled my left quad front squating . Yeah I'm pist but positivity is key.
Pissed*, sorry man. I hope you're quad is ok now though
This guy being real. thank you bro. now to rest my poor quad
Thanks for uploading this very helpful video!
Damn pulled a quad muscle 6 days ago playing soccer and acted like it never happened and just went through the pain thinking it would go away. Regretting not watching this video sooner. 😭
I literally just pulled my muscle I did it by lying in my bed when I moved my leg awkwardly
ghostsneverdie5 1 that’s what happened to me! But I did it in my sleep and it hurts really bad, I can’t move at allllll 😭
i pulled a muscle by sneezing to hard
Shxine iv done this 2 but stretching it
I pulled it cause I jumped off my window
that’s not pulling a muscle that’s a cramp
Very helpful video mate thanks!
All other websites said 3-4 weeks rest and this guy says chill for 3 days then see if it's healed.🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the help & positive thoughts , it meant a lot when you're hurt. Hope you already well & doing some goals!
Thank you for these helpful information! I tore my both quads and i used to practice crossfit how long do you think my muscles will take to recover and be able to go back to training again ? Thank you !
Been in need of such vid.
God bless man
Really great video...thank you very much!
I got in a motorcycle accident three days ago, rolled down the road over 10 times and missing some skin. Tore something in my right hip tensor/glutes. Your video was far more informative than anything the doctors had to say. Thanks, you provided a real service.
That was real bad, hope you have healed, what was your experience and what did you do to recover from injuries

I turned my neck literally 1 degree and now I can’t move at all

Great info man. Seems like i have exactly the same issue. How long did it take you to heal and get back? Thanksz
GREAT instructions, God bless
Thank you so much for this video
It helps me a lot
Lots of great advice thanks bro
I use to never strech out or warm up and never got injured. One day I warmed up and stretched really good before a game and that same day I tore my ligament and my meniscus. Weird :/
My dog crossed onto my foot while walking tripping me onto the asphalt. I thought I was okay (and so was my dog), but the next day my calf got tighter and tighter, pulling while I was walking down a pitted hill. Thanks for your video because I keep re-pulling it because I was not doing the heat and rolling. Thanks
Thank you. Im going to try it out
Extremely helpful video - thanks. I did all the wrong things at the beginning
I pulled the same muscle as him on my left quad when I shot a volley, it went crossbar and in so I was happy and in pain at the same time
i pulled my calf I'm pissed asf
Me too, bro that really hurts at 56 🤦
Simple - to the point - great info
This video was really helpful!
I don't play sports, like at all. I don't be like to move a whole lot.
But yesterday morning I was stretching out my legs, when my left ham string started to hurt a lot. It was one of the worst pains I've ever had to endure in all of my 14 years of life.
This had happened to me a couple of times before, and the pain went away almost immediately after, but this time, the pain stuck around all day. And this morning I woke up to find it still there.
So I looked up a video to find out what do do and this was the most helpful
Great! Another excuse for me to lay around some more ;)
Thank you, Progressive Soccer!
I'm only 16 and I'm out for at least a month with a hamstring injury and you're videos are helping me to go through the recovery
BR00K1YN get better soon bro!
Been a footballer for 15 years and this is still the most useful video I've found on recovering from injury. Blessings!
This is the exact video I was looking for. It's really frustrating but after watching your video at least now I know what to do. Thanks.
Injuries can be great moments for personal review. It will make you come back stornger than ever before.
thanks for the advice 💪
gotta love UA-cam! pulled my quadricep from my sprinting routine 10 minutes ago. lol thanks buddy!
I got a fucking torn muscle by taking off my boot, i think i went too hard D:
lol i got mine while stretching
Awesome video man! I just pulled my groin and I have the first district game of the season in a few days and this is just what i needed!
Hi! IDK if you'll see this but did it help at all? My mom is going through the same thing and I'm trying to find anything that can help
Excellent advice.
Thank you for making this video. I injured both my hamstrings yesterday, after that I even did some running and stretching :/. When I got home, the pain wasn't that bad, so I just went to sleep, but woke up with a cramp-like feeling in both of my hamstrings. I guess I've missed the 1.phase (since I just went to bed), but am now applying ice wraps and resting. I'll have to get some bandages for compression aswell..
I was too enthusiastic and pushed myself too far yesterday, now I'm faced with having to wait it out to heal for probably a couple of weeks, we'll see. I hope this will be a lesson to me and I'll take it more slowly and carefully, and listen to my body more the next time I return to training.
Again, thanks for the video, hope you're doing well
I pulled both of my legs muscles while dancing yesterday but i didn't notice till today and i had already stretched and danced again so im dying right now HELPPP😣😭😭
@Emma Wallace sameee ! I pulled my abdominals on both sides a month ago while dancing and i thought they healed.. pulled the right side again 3 days ago and i’m dying now ! I’m literally so scared to even go to the doctor because of all the possible scenarios i’ve been reading online (hernia, pulled ligament...) i hope it gets better 😭😭
Thank you for this video! I pulled a hamstring in the back of my right leg a few days ago & thought that lots of walking would remedy it from day one and realized it would have been better if I did less right after the injury.
thank you so much this helped so much
I'm a competitive marathoner and just got a minor quad tear during my marathon a couple weeks ago. This is a great video, but here are a few supplemental tips...
1. A quad muscle tear doesn't generally heal with 3 days of RICE, it can take a couple weeks. So entering the rehab phase after only 3 days probably won't work for many, especially. if you're older. I'm 37 and with only a minor tear, 7 days off wasn't enough to heal it and I re-aggravated it on an easy run.
2. For whichever essential oil blend you use, make sure to mix in a "carrier oil" so that it absorbs more effectively. He uses olive oil, generally a coconut or jojoba oil would be used.
3. A more potent essential oil blend that is anti-inflammatory and increases circulation is frankincense, thyme, myrrh and a carrier oil.
4. Up your protein intake to help rebuild the muscle faster.
5. Apply arnicare gel to sooth the muscle.
Good luck to everyone else in their recovery!
you are the most helpful soccer/football channel out there!
I agree, I love his videos.
This video was garbage and useless and any1 that has ever pulled a muscle knows this stuff already. U want videos on strengthening the muscle
miguel figueroa
very informative video!! thanks man
Very well explained. Thanks
I am in cheer and I pulled muscle while stretching before practice. Then I continued to practice even though it hurt just to stand. It has been a little over 5 weeks and there are some things that still hurt like flexibility stretching, kicks and jumps. I can walk and to other things just fine. Any advice on how to heal quicker?
I just learned that I straight up pulled both my quads at soccer practice and didn’t realize it until next practice but I thought it was just fatigued or tired muscles so I practiced through the pain. After practice today I realized that I pulled the muscles bc it hurt when I ran too fast or kicked the ball :///
Very good video and info.....Thank you
Thank you, very helpful .
I'm not that patient, but I. Recovered, give it time and massage.
This is my second time watching this video and the first time it worked I know it will the second time
Update this is the 3rd time! I got a muscle tweak in my hip 😞
Regret on trying to recover too quickly. Should’ve watched this sooner.
Helps a Lot
I have a muscle tear but since the past 2 months it's not recovering . I am a badminton player and I Started playing after 10 years suddenly , it's paining behind the knee like hell . Your video is very helpful . Thank you
I pulled my neck for like no reason wasn’t even in my sleep it was just randomly while I was trick or treating
After warming up and stretching, I began to go into the splits. My back leg slipped on the carpet as I was going down. I fell into the splits and heard these three extremely loud cracks in my right thigh. Directly after that, a sharp pain shot down the back of my entire leg. Hopefully this helps me out a bit lol, thanks for the video!!!

really nice to know all these.
I’ve had so many muscle injuries and using heat and stretching helps me to heal so much, I’ve healed so quickly doing those things
How do u apply heat?
Zachary Reid I have a sort of hot water bottle thing with lavender inside of it, you put it in the microwave for a few minutes and it heats up
what if you're me, and you're a week into your injury without doing any of this stuff? Does this stuff still work?

DON’T apply heat until at least a few days after!! Or after the swelling has reduced. I followed his advice and applied heat a few times. Got bruises all over. My PT later told me ice only for the first few days
He himself says in the video to not apply heat for the first 3-4 days
