Lol
Hahahahhhh
That ain't no shit
Never early too

He decides what time it is...
Damn right
D W Conrad man ,that made me laugh
D W Conrad Yo this comment is everything 🤘🏽
Ohh god.
1:25 The no look double cymbal hit, and grab, while not missing a beat that follows it immediately is next level. Sugarfoot is an unbelievably talented drummer. The confidence level behind the kit is definitely tough to match.
A performance dele foi exatamente a que o Michael fazia nos palcos...observe para ver...show
That shit was CRAZY!!!!
Yeah he the truth 🔥🔥🔥
3:01 that double cymbal hit was ON POINT
Nicee
I have never thought that I would watch an entire video of a guy playing drum. But this is already the third videos of him that I’m watching.
I can't stop either
i have same feeling man! I am doing it at 3am in my bed and I really have no idea why I'm doing it but I like it! =)
There's nothing quite like watching a master musician play his instrument. Heck I'll listen to music that I would never listen to on it's own if I can watch a master musician playing it. Entertaining for sure!
Wow scintillating
super
1:25 that choke alone can defeat thanos
Fucking A
Very well said! 👏🏼
damn right
He could still beat every single one of us in a drum off
Hahaha 😂😂😂
Atomic clocks are measured for accuracy against this clinical drumming perfection
His drumming is so clean it can purify the ocean.
his drumming is so clean he doesnt even need sanitization before he goes out during lockdown

Harsha Suri He hired Eddie Van Halen for the solo. He always looked for the best in his music
Yeee
Rhythm is not just memorized. It's in flowing in his blood.... wonderful.
Honestly, I feel like everyone can do it. You just have to lose yourself in the flow/groove of the music. Your body will naturally just catch on. If over think and try to memorize the song it wont work. It takes discipline
Exactly!!
I don't see him play as much as watching him listening and enjoying... He is breathing not playing!! Amazing rhythm and flow
Dr.Madhavan Neyveli this guy is literally born to play drums s
@@MrAgodine you telling me he went full ultra instinct
I believe that rhythm & groove is in your blood. You either have the music or you don’t. This man has the soul of a dozen musicians!

"I can do a lot of things, but I don't, because it's not necessary."
Jonathan Moffet, in this exact interview.
To all drummers out there. Stop over playing! Make sure you develop a strong backbeat like this. That's the money maker!!
U listening cooper drummer. He's the king of over playing.
Well said Drum 4 Fun! Lars Ulrich, are you listening?

you can see him flashbacks of michael performing on stage. he really looked kinda sad playing. RIP MJ

As soon as the beat started up you can see his facial expression change to all business. Awesome cymbal grabs. Beat was dead on, not over playing. This is a lesson for all future drummer's. You don't have to fit in a bunch of fills to sound great. Once again great video.
Michigan Matt well, it depends on the intention. As a drummer, I will play even such an easy thing but if we/I need a more interesting composition, I add stuff as I see drums equal to all instruments. It works in here but tracks like R U Mine? would be nothing without the syncopation courtesy of Matt Helders ;)
It because MJ was all business when it comes to his songs and performance
depends on what the music requires. this is pop... very much a formula... lay the back beat so the song can preform
Scott Whittle ye but just because it's pop it doesn't mean you can't have something more. Fills are obvious but I personally would, for example, try to use the whole note triplet divisions to create a back-beat. Check out Clocks, when Chris sings with that kind of beat underneath, it sounds like he's moving further
Yeah behind the head hit and grab and not missing a beat. Nice.
The smile before he beings and then boom the game face, Damn this man means business
The joy on the face of the sound engineer next to him says it all
EPIC! The "choke" at 1:26 came out of nowhere! Can't wait for the next upload I-( " , )-I
Yeah that was rad! I’d like to try n put my cymbals in that position, see how it feels.
also known as the "double crash behind the head , no look , steal your girl combo"
the impressive bit is the "choke" is exactly on the quarter note.... and then just gets into rhythm again... not a bother... SugarHands :)
I loved that part. I had no idea that it had a technical name. Thanks for teaching me something today lol

What a solid snare!!! And that choke at 1:26 is just unreal. What a legend!
definitely the cleanest/smoothest I've seen
True that. I was awestruck !
👍🏼👍🏼
1:25 I love the way he held the drum bell with his hand after hitting it ❤
This is like the 50th time watching this, I just can’t get over his groove, feel, and precision
NO F@#KING KIDDING...IM WITH..!!!!!👍✌👌!!!!!
His face the whole time is the face of a true legend
Yeah your right
he’s having a conversation with that drum set 🤙🏻✌🏻
In his prime, the most-in-demand drummer in the world.
Some drummers have great feel/groove (Phil Rudd, Charlie Watts) and some have great technical ability (Neil Peart, John Bonham), but this guy is the perfect mix of both
smokeslet'sgo don’t forget ringo
When you are so technical you become groovy smooth, that's Sugarfoot

@@user-qm7bp4ul5t they have to wath Jeff Porcaro and Toto. Thats the real skilled shit
This guy is absolutely a beast. I don't play drums but it's clear that his timing is terryfing, beyond perfection.
Just goes to show how much work goes into making a song. Singers get the credit most of the time but where would they be without the musicians. Mad respect for the background folks who make it happen.
Only Sugarfoot at 1:26.

That's not from practice you gotta feel that in the moment
Awesome
imagine you could look back in life and you´ve been michael jackson's drummer. F***. so cool and he is still into it.
He's a Beast!! Finally the drummers of some of these iconic songs getting credit due!
No offbeat explorations of uncontrolled rhythms, just precision of world class discipline, Michael had excellent musicians and performance standards! 👏 🏆🎹🏆🥁🏆🌎
Most of you will not believe this, but I actually had the honor to work with him. His persona is as excellent as his expertise as a drummer. The most down to earth, humble genius I've been blessed to work with. God bless you Jonathan!
We believe you
I first read your post as horror instead of honor but the context of your comment didn't work so had to double check.
I've met this guy in Florida in 2003 , the funny part is I had no idea who he was until a few hrs later.

Daaamn!! He really feels music. What a Genius!!
Straight ninja move!
Things I admire:
1) Your creative cymbal work
2) The simplicity of rhythm in such a iconic song
But that one crash cymbal stand at your 10 o'clock position looked pretty tipsy. ;)

I agree @mrp123123123... The man used the cymbals next to his head for a quick open hi-hat... Incredible 1:25... I enjoy watching him play. Simple but effective.
It's incredible! Who whould thought of that! Still, the song and all of the instruments all gel! =) Love this music! Thank you for bringing us this to us!
I agreed. but please, don't forget: this man have one of better all-times single pedal technique. i listen MJ (with this incredible drum lines) for some reason. this man is legendary.
So deep in the pocket.
I remember seeing michael jackson in concert as a kid.. During the BAD tour.
Your skill and stamina on the drums is off the charts.
These no music understand people may not recognize what you do. But those of us with some experience in music or band understand.
To be able to keep up that tempo with michael's songs through a whole concert with basically no breaks. RESPECT!!
01:24 I was like damn! when I saw him hitting those two in the first place I was like bad ass, them I saw him dampen those at the same time and that's double bad ass!!
It takes a lot of discipline for a professional world-class drummer to play like that, he could probably tear it apart on the drums 100%, but that's called discipline, that's called playing what's needed and making sure everything you are playing is perfect. Very well done complete world-class musician right there!
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo! Estoy es de lo más difícil, mantener ésta disciplina sin desviarse y sonar tan limpio y perfecto, cómo lo está haciendo él, por algo está entre los mejores de la historia, sin duda.
Because he knows he is not the star but the costar and THAT my FRIEND is what makes this man a shining STAR!!!!
Insane double grab..dynamics outta sight.
Michael was right.
There can be only one.
I think all bassists agree.
I do.

That double grab was pure wizardry. FACK.
Is it just me or does he not hit the left hand cymbal?

That's what I did today! 😂😂😂😂
Love the guy in the back... You can tell it's like a treat for him to be working with the drummer
1:25 I love that slick cymbal grab
This guy alone is responsible for billions of people nodding to his beats!! WOW ❤️

I've never seen perfection like this. He plays it the same way every time. Look at the videos from the past. Insane. I guess if your gonna back the greatest music star of all time, you better have perfection wanting your number.
You can tell right away he is a pro live musician, head up, looking at the stage to the performer and the other musicians, very connected and focused on what he's doing.

It truly is tragic
Or just people who are not as easily impressed as people who know nothing about music. There are thousands of drummers far more skilled and, most important, interesting. He literally drives the same standard beat through the whole bloody song. Now compare that to Philippe Boucher or John Longstreth or George Kollias or Hannes Großmann or or or. Pop music fans are just easy to impress because their brains are set for the same 4 chords over and over again and they will call everything genius that is not too complex for their simple minds.
