Finally someone who is not fooled by the smoke and mirrors magic show. Someone who can see clearly what is coming and has the fortitude to let it be known. Take heed people it’s about to get bumpy.
I purchased 2 laptops the week after the election because of the looming tariffs. As a recently retired librarian, I can’t stress the importance of physical books, too.
Dead on. I'd note (not for you specifically, but people who may be reading this): - Many people do not have a fire extinguisher at all. They're not super expensive. People should always have those. - Rotating water every 6 mos is overkill. Even after a year, most water is fine. If in doubt, filter and boil. Also, know how to kill the cold water intake on your heater and drain it - that water is potable. - Keep an eye out for Mountain House Freeze Dried items on sale. Best on the market. Tried and tested. - Survive and Thrive is a book I ended up doing a short video about. Outstanding manual. Page by page, I found almost nothing to argue with. People should read it. Keep your loved ones close and ears perked. Good vid!
We put a set of smart fire and co2 monitors about 2 months ago and sure enough, the co2 monitor went off in the basement within a week. We identified and repaired something that could have really hurt us over the winter.
Great video. I feel like things are about to get stupid expensive, so I've been stocking our pantry as well, buying new tires, laptop, and passport. Basically any big purchase that we can anticipate in the next few years we're trying to get out of the way now. The passport is just because I think there will be an influx of people trying to get theirs next year combined with government shutdowns/incompetence will probably lead to long wait times.
Things about tarrifs, is prices will rise on items that are made in the US that are similar to those items with tarrifs. For instance, tires, American tires, maybe $600 for a set of four, China import tires, $450. After Tariffs, US tires $650, China tires $610. That is high school economics. Sorry they no longer teach it in high school. But until the market is saturated American products will go up in price as well. We've got food, water, tools, power, fuel, lots of emergency stuff lots of lifestyle stuff. Also wife and I seriously garden, fish, But looking at the possible tariffs, I just got another pair of hiking boots, some cloth, garden twine, socks, underwear, windshield wipers, some car maintenance that would hit next year. Also on the list, TUNA, BATTERIES, a new garden hoe. Bought some metals earlier in the year, making some pretty good earnings with them. Topped off my supply of reloading components, I seem set for 4-7 years depending on how much we shoot. Pantry gets restocked as things come on sale in bulk and home canned veggies in season. It was a good garden, we have 85% or our annual veggies from our garden. Pantry is stocked somewhere between 6 to 18 months depending upon individual items.
I'm currently working on expanding my food preps, I had a crappy garden this last summer. The tomatoes were terrible, and the green beans weren't much better due to wrong seeds in the package from a major brand, rather frustrating...
You almost had me subscribing to the channel UNTIL you got insulting about the way folks voted. IF you really WANT TO or EXPECT TO grow this channel you might want to consider NOT insulting Folks for their beliefs. But you can do what you want. Good Luck! and God Bless your heart

I've been interested in homesteading and prepping since the late 1990s but discouraged because the predominate political slant seems to be conservative or libertarian. Finding a progressive prepper makes me happy. Keep up the good work.
She’s not making fun, she’s speaking truth. Pair the tanking of the economy with cutting social security and Medicare/Medicaid, MANY Americans will suffer. Don’t be embarrassed about the way you voted now.
Another progressive prepper. So delighted to have found you.
YES
I recommend learning basic bookbinding if you enjoy crafty stuff, it makes printed-out materials sturdier and easier to use.
Wow, very refreshing to find a UA-cam prepper that sees the incoming administration for what it is!

My dad and aunt were both librarians. I was always taught this too 👏👏

We had odd things happen with seeds from a major brand this year as well
Do you have a video about your preparedness binder? What do you keep in yours?
I don’t! But I’ll add it to the list of cods to make
I think you already know, but it’s CO that is the dangerous one…not so much CO2.
yep, I don't know why i kept saying it in the vid -- clearly tired braincells!

I guess it’s a good thing I have zero interest in making money or growing this channel.
