I'm really liking PP 2.0. It gives me that extra feeling of the Bubble being alive. It also gave me purpose on trying different gameplays like settlement raids or even piracy/sabotage/hacking. The best thing .... Stronghold Defense/Attack. I can't be bothered by the merits I gain per hour, I just measure PP 2.0 in fun per hour.
Good thinking, fun per hour should be the only metric with leisure activity like video gaming. I actually had fun recently getting federation rank requirements to purchase corvette. Reason was fun ship capable of doing all missions (engineered Mandalay with plenty cargo, jump range and DPS). Is it better to do boring grind for 5 hours or have actual fun for 10 hours. I'd say the latter
Really glad you're enjoying it! A lot of folks (myself included, admittedly) got too wrapped up in ranking up quickly. As an optional component, it's there for what you want to make of it.
Ive been supporting Li Yong-Rui because I've been trying for the Pack-hounds since before 2.0, but once I get a couple I'm probably going to grind out Pranav so I can make a little more when I go out for XBio
Yeah, figured that Exo bonus was going to be sky high. Most of my billions are in Exo. Almost went with Pranav for that but just couldn't get over his psuedo-mystic-techno idealism, so went with LYR. LYR obviously read The Rational Optimist: How Prosperity Evolves, which explains well how all of humanity is better through markets.
It all depends on how much importance you want to place in the backstory. As for myself, I wouldn't care if he was a purple three-eyed platypus. The Exo bonus is what matters to me. :) Plus, in reality, the Exo I'm turning in won't change anything in the BGS anyway.
At the time, HIP 4005 (in Pranav's control) had a platinum hotspot and a station buying platinum for 230K/ton. Ranking up to 100 took less than a week, of just a session or two a day.
Rare commodities (and a fleet carrier), beacons, map mining, and perhaps, as the Titan was already defeated, they unlock getting merits from collecting escape pods, but I'm not sure. You can also try to compromise holo screens with DB Scout, but I'm not sure either. People report stollen data is rewarded well, but on foot missions are so ugly ((
@@Mile13Gaming it's not just Archer that has this bonus but also Arissa Lavigny-Duval (emperor of the Empire) with that exact bonus besides roleplay (aka lore) and superpower they belong to, their other practical difference is the module unlock order
Hi man! You ahve so great and small tutorials about different ingame mechanics and features, but can you create tutorial for beginers about player path in game from start to endgame?)
I'm a little confused - how did mining platinum gain you all that Pranav reputation? I'm souring on PP2 a bit because I keep getting ground missions that take a LONG time and risk fines and bounties.
You have to mine platinum (or any other high value resources) and sell it in the same system which is in the reinforcing state of your power. Then you also get merits for selling the platinum. It's best you search with the hotspot finder for a system which has your power in reinforcing state and then go there and mine and sell in the same system.
If you mine and sell in the *same* system controlled by your power it is worth merits. You "getting missions" is just weekly suggestions, you can do whatever merit gaining activities you want.
Other folks already answered, but... Yup, I got 90% of my PowerPlay merits by mining and selling platinum in a Pranav system (must be mined and sold in the same system). Found a station that bought platinum for ~230K, so it didn't take long at all. As for the missions, I did the initial mandatory ones to start earning rank, then never did another mission after that. No reason to unless you want to. Hope that helps!
So what you're saying is I need to pledge because you're making gigantic bonuses that I don't make even though I have found a few different species first.
But... you must wait and sell the data in the bubble. Travel fully loaded with exobio across distances... Does the route player reflect who you pledged to, or does it take you through enemy territory?
Yes, but that's not really a big deal. I was in my little DBX about 6000LY from the bubble. Took me about an hour to get back, and just plotted a path straight to Polevnik. Docked with 100% shield and 100% hull.
That's... a good question that I don't know the answer to. But keep in mind, you need to rank up to earn that perk. You won't get it immediately after pledging.
@@Mile13Gaming 1st foot Exo is whatever you scan times 5. 1 stratum can get you 100 million. Once your out in the black nearly every metal content world with two bio's will have Stratum.
Either the servers or I will go to the grave without me having pledged. I really wish that wasn't a major component to even start to mess around with PP. I guess I won't be colonizing the galaxy at 10 Ly per go either.
PowerPlay is an optional component. If you don't want to mess with it, then no pressure to do it. There are benefits, but if that doesn't interest you, pretend it doesn't exist.

Does the mining NEED to be done in a Pranav Antal system or just the selling? Sorry for late question @@Mile13Gaming

I fell out of my seat...that's crazy!!!
Welp, I think I know who I'm pledging to when I get back to the bubble
Does that mean you grind the ex-Bio Elite rank 30% faster too?
I love PP2, and Pranav's bonuses, but holy hell he keeps assigning me "scan megaships" tasks and they're so boring.
I wonder if every power does because I keep getting those from Archer lol
After the initial mandatory assignments to start, I never did a single assignment after that. Got all my ranks through mining.
