Well Nobby I did it and traded my 212 Enyaq 80 for the Kodiaq PHEV. I had the Enyaq for 3 years and 3 months and it never gave me an issue. I came out of a Q5 into the Enyaq and I did miss that exrtra bit of size and the more comfortable ride of the Q5. Having analysed my driving about 90% of my journeys are well less than the 100 KM of electric range promised in the Kodiaq. I did my first longish journey in it yesterday of 80km and set the car to hybrid. It switched effortlessly between the two and returned 2.4 litres of petrol per 100km and used 44 km of the 80 km range of an 80% battery charge. The build quality is every bit as good as the Q5 maybe even better and there is no comparison in the suspension and ride quality between it and the Enyaq. I’m not going to go into the depreciation of the Enyaq over that period but as I can charge at home ( I’m getting 6kw by the way ) it ticks all the boxes for me.
Starting a new job in november and had to look at company cars in stock here in Sweden, This one and the Superb modell really surprised me. My initial thoughts was, Wow Skoda has come a long way :). Coming from a couple of Volvos and VW with the last one being a Volvo XC60 made me choose the Kodiaq, and i was lucky since they had a cancelation on a order on a black modell with a nice package in it. They also come in as a great deal on company cars for both me and the company. Here in Sweden they are basically sold out and orders on new cars will be delivered in feb/mar 2025... So im really looking forward on my first chargeable hybrid even if its a Skoda :)
I love Skoda cars. Have owned a superb and a Kodiaq. I’d love there to be a fully EV kodiaq. I’m sure that will happen they’ll give us something close to it. The Enyaq is a great drive too, not a dynamic as my EV6 but it’s very comfortable.
Nice video, love the technology in this but i feel its really a step backwards in looks compared to the older model. This one is a bit frumpy looking compared to the more aggressive look of the older Kodiaq. Still though. A hybrid suv with that ev range for that price is tempting.
We traded in our 211 sport line for a selection plus. Good old 2.0 tdi... Think i prefer the old car, no rear blinds, no door protector, no CANTON sound system and no drive mode select. Very bouncy on the road. No reverse parking assist. We couldn't see if these extras were on the new sportline because the dealer didn't have a clue what was going to be on it. @@georgesbv1 Sorry George.... We selected everything that was available. Not going to lie, the dashboard lacks some personality, sticking two tablets on it is ugly, the instrument cluster makes it look so cheap and bad compared to the rest, pity they chose to design it this way, it looks miles better on the old one. Now the price is not far away from a Q5 PHEV Quattro...yep, go check it yourself.
Picked up my Kodiaq PHEV a couple of weeks ago. Very, very nice all round but with one major complaint - There is no way to set the charging to take advantage of cheap night time rates. They call it Departure Planner in the Enyaq, no idea why it's not in this car, my old Superb iv had it. All you can do is set the departure times for the air con but not the charging.
Departure on the Enyaq is only for the heating. I’ve had two Enyaq’s and one on order. It’s easy to avail of night rates but you need to set the charger not the car. A Zappi will do it for you, or a simple 7kw box lead charger with a time delay. You’ll get one of those for circa €180 on Ali or DD.
It’s unfortunate that the PHEV version has lost the 3rd row seats that make the Kodiaq such a great family car. €67K ouch.. Makes an Enyaq look good value.
In many countries in Europe it is actually cheaper than the petrol/diesel versions because they apply tax bonuses for PHEV and EVs. In Austria the PHEV is 12k euros less than the 2.0 diesel and the same as the mild hybrid 1.5.
I’ve had both the Kodiaq sports line & now the Sorento PHEV, there is pros & cons to both vehicles I think you get more bang for your buck with the Kia plus AWD & the Kia is super smooth on the open road, but I think the Kodiaq has more comfortable seats & a better finish, both cars are good looking but one of the big selling points for me is the 7 year warranty, three & a half years into my Kodiaq I had a water pump issue & it cost me nearly €800 euro, this would be covered if it was a Kia , also too many options at a cost with the Skoda so overall the Sorento wins the day for me , just !
Charging at home is limited through your installation, I'm sure. Atleast here, we are only allowed to do 20A Charge with 1 Phase, which roughly equals your 4,4kw. Could be it's limited to this on 1 Phase in the car. Thanks for the great review.
Hi! Thank you for this video, there aren’t to many on the Phev version of the Kodiaq 😕. I was looking to get a bit more details on the consumption, like what is the consumption in the city when you go hybrid mode or just on gas ( I’ve seen you mentioned about that for the motorway ). Do you have this kind of data?
I took delivery of my iV on the 4th of September. On the 7th, a message appeared saying there was an error with the hybrid system, and about 50km later, the AC stopped working. On the 9th, as instructed by Skoda and the dealership, I brought the car to an authorised dealership, and it has been sitting there since. The dealership nor Skoda are willing to provide me with a courtesy car or offer any kind of compensation. I am thinking of returning the car and breaking the sales contract as the law permits.
