My partner and currently have a Hyundai Tucson on motability which is due for renewal next September , but the dealer we use has now stopped selling Hyundai cars, leaving the choice of either Toyota or Skoda. We've looked at the RAV 4 which I'm not keen on so we are seriously looking at the new Kodiaq. Never thought I'd ever look at a Skoda in the past or even a Hyundai, but this is now our third Tucson. This was a very instructive and interesting review of the Kodiaq. I think we're both hooked on one now.
I have a 23 Kodiaq the main problem for me was in Ireland you can only order a 7 seater no matter what engine you got. From what I can see online it's still the same for the mk2 except for the PHEV model. We needed the head height as my wife uses a swivel passenger seat plus a pelvic cushion which raises your head height considerably. It's a petrol model as most of the driving is in town with the odd longer journey to the city now and then. Find it very comfortable while driving although the boot only barely fits the wheelchair without disassembling it unlike the Octavia which seems to have a longer space between the back seats and boot door. Glad to have come across this review by yourself as comfort on the road was one of my wife's reasons for putting the squeeze on me 🤣 about changing the car last time.
Very helpful review as I’m looking at buying a Kodiaq Sportline in the next few months so it was good to watch a very detailed review. This is a very different car to what I’m used to (currently drive a 2023 M240i) but want something with more space. Thank you for the thorough review👍

Really good review. We have just ordered ours yesterday. It is the same colour and model as the one you tested. It is worth mentioning that there are quite a few brand new already built Kodiaqs on the Skoda website, which are immediately available. You just need to spend a bit of time looking through the individual cars available and working out which one has the options you are looking for. We managed to get a car that met our requirements pretty well, a couple of items we maybe wouldn't have specified, but in the main it contained the options we wanted. We also contacted a couple of different dealers about the same vehicle (as the cars can normally be bought from any dealer regardless of what garage they are located at), and were able to able to obtain varying levels of discount on the same car. They ranged between £3k and £5k below list price, so its well worth asking the question and playing the dealers off against each other. We went back and forth with dealers several times before we got the level of discount we were happy to order the car on. In the end we bought a car located at a Skoda dealer in Leicester from a Skoda dealer in Dartford for circa £2k less than the Leicester dealer was trying to sell it for. We are now looking forward to picking the car up next week.
The list price of the car with all the accessories was £52,340 and we got it for £46,961. So a discount of £5,379 or 10.38% off list price. The discount varied between dealers, but this was the best we got offered.
Probably the best review on the new kodiaq so far and before I ordered one I've watched every single review of it going! Gone for a white 1.5 etec in 7 seats. You've earnt a subscription, really practical, informative review, its good to see the suitcases actuallt fitting in the boot! I agree on the cup holders, they feel strangely cheap compared to the amazing quality of the rest of the car. I can only imagine Skoda thought most people wouldnt mind money being saved on the cup holders and at least theyre a clever 2 in 1 design.

Update: Had the car 12 hours now. I must say that Skodas build quality has never been better. It's on par with or better than any VW or Audi I've seen. In fact I regularly drive BMWs and Volvos for work and I would say it's close to if not on par with their build quality. The 1.5 petrol is surprisingly good for such a large car. It's no race car but it's no slouch either.
@@jingle9691 What is your fuel consumption? I will order 1.5 TSI also. I went on a test drive and I was impressed with the ride quality, it was only 1 hour drive but it was so smooth on the road, just flying over everything that is given to him. PS I was driving 2.0 TDI, they don't have petrol yet.
I have 3 kodiaqs 2 2023 1.5ltr and a 2.0ltr deasil witvh is a 2021 model after changing from a sel superb of witch I had 5 one petrol I've had from October last year ihad it 6 months and chaged it up to the 85x enyaq because it was only returning 18mpg but all in all I love the my deasil I taxi in and I'm getting on average 48 to 54 mpg wouldn't buy any other car love the reliability of the
The plug-in hybrid's electrical range is most definitely 60 miles of range , 25kwh battery not achieving at least 100 km would mean this car with the diesel engine isn't achieving 50MPG either, more like 40MPG max
i picked up my new one Friday exactly same colour and Model as the review and early indications are its very very good only slight bug bear is there's no Jack or tool Kit and dealer says not included now unless you pay for the space saver wheel so its just a compressor and a tub of tyre resin for me
