I can’t thank you guys enough, I live in the middle of the Canadian prairie and dream of doing a shark trip , I’m not a rich guy so I’ve been collecting gear and knowledge over time ..... I truly appreciate how much great info you guys give ... I’m trying to learn as much as I possibly can in hopes of actually catching even a single shark on my trip
My biggest fish so far is 140 pound white sturgeon and I’m hooked on big game fishing

Now in Florida we’re required to use non stainless circle hooks and pass an online “Shore Based Shark Fishing Course” ..hoops we jump thru now because of just a few people who don’t like fishing and bitched to weak politicians. People who buy fish instead of fishing

Are the beaches all like that? Look like a lake, yaking looks soooo much easier than in Tx. Freaking 3-4 ft barrels , lot start using the drones here with the new technology coming out.

Nar there not mate, we have to drive 500miles to get there then 100miles up beach
Most beaches are 3-8ft barrels, I live near kirra and snapper rocks, some of the best surf in the world

@@sharkyshepo8167 wow ok. 500 miles, pale in comparison to my 45 min cruise down the beach. Water looks awesome though. Now I can see why these trips are true trips and not like we do. "Cruise down to the beach for a few hours send a couple of baits and see whats poppin'"

Enjoy your videos! What are your thoughts on using coated cable versus wire for bite sections on leaders considering the possibility of a big tiger biting through cable? Has this ever been an issue for you? What size cable are you using for big shark leaders??
    Thanks for the advise.

    • @sharkyshepo8167

Personally iv never had an issue, i have had a couple mates been bittin threw, but iv also seen wire fail twice too,
I prefer cable to leeder the fish, better on ur hands and better when rubbing on shark.

@@sharkyshepo8167 check how the south African ous do it. It might be an interesting concept got you guys to introduce there

  • @ruanjacobs9900

Love the vids. Here in South Africa we hardly hook giants like you do off our beaches.
1 question , I usually snell my circles on lighter cable but have moved to crimps for bigger cable. Have you experienced a worse hookup rate by crimping the hook like you do in this vid( loop for free movement) as opposed to snelling which is suppose to increase hookup since tension forces the circle to curl in? Or a hook slip since 1 crimp holds it?
    Tight lines guys

    • @sharkyshepo8167
      @sharkyshepo8167  6 років тому +1

Ruan Jacobs no never had an issue with crimps, ever.
But double hook rigs can cause issues, causing foul hook uos and hooks to bend or pop. We never use doubles anymore, we have learnt the hard way, cheers mate appreciate it yuuuuuuuuew
