    Enjoyed the video.Well done.Just a point.The basket and inner wear because of power on and off operation.Especially wheelies and burnouts etc.You can file them smooth,but very crude way to get rid of the ridges.Just replace them. Makes the clutch noisy too.Keep up the good work.

    Thank you guys @ partzilla, seems the whole clutch/starter gear assembly is similar for a cb650f, only the design of the clutch case seems to be different, and due to lack of proper installation guides and or videos on that type of bike, it made it hard to figure out what I needed to do exactly, but this helped heaps!

    almost definitely you put that oil sensor back on backwards. If the bikes starter is making noise but the bike won’t turn over to start, then check that sensor. It goes in with the wires going towards the clutch panel, which is opposite what you would think.

    Hi John. You being a clutch expert, maybe can take me out of my misery trying to understand, why some clutchs has various types of friction disk? and some not? and what is the differente between the disk and the consecuences of using the same disk on the entire basket?
    I have a Yamaha FZ6, and it has 7 friction disk 1 type and 2 different type of disk on both ends of the clutch basket, why are those different?
    I ask because after i rebuild my clutch, i realized seeing this video and checking my bike manual, that i made a mistake and put 9 friction disk of the same type on my bike... it works, but its dragging at little at engagement, so i dont know if that is the reason.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 років тому

      Here are a couple things you can try. Make sure the clutch is adjusted corrected to eliminate free play and it engages properly. Check that the clutch cable fittings are greased and move freely. Lube your clutch cable and make sure it's not binding anywhere. This should make it feel less stiff. (it's most likely your cable is either routed incorrectly or it has never been lubed.) Or you could always do exercises to strengthen your hand grip until you can crush a baseball in your hand...then none of that will matter. Let us know how it goes!

    How are you sir, i just got a question for my 2007 cbr1000rr clutch related. So i bought this bike from someone. And i notice the clutch friction point is right down the bottom. Like when u pull the clutch in and go to 1st gear. As soon as u begin to leting the clutch go it will start engaging.(its got hydraulic clutch) now most bike will start to engage when u pull the clutch in and let it go at 80% now the adjuster on the lever doesnt do anything it made it worse. I pull the clutch in and go to 1st gear and start engaging straight away(very dangerous). Now my question is, does it need a brand new clutch kit?? And when i pull the clutch in i notice a sound from where the cltuch plates are located. And there is not much tention on my clutch 😣😢😢

    put a new clutch cable on my 600RR thinking the cable was stretched cause i was starting to notice slack in the cable and adjusting wouldn't help. I put the new cable on and it didn't help the problem. someone told me maybe my clutch is worn out but I haven't noticed any clutch slippage. after looking at illustrations I'm wondering if maybe the bearing for the clutch pull pin is worn out...

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  5 років тому

      If you tighten the slack out of the cable and it still won't disengage the clutch, you'll have to dive in and see what the issue is. Could be the pin, you'll have to go in and see.

      @@PartzillaParts i changed the pull pin and bearing today and still no luck. could the pull pin lever mechanism be worn out?

    Hi i would like to ask what is the problem when its hard to change gear? is it the clutch basket?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 років тому +1

      Hard shifting is usually a sign of the shift forks and/or gears in the transmission not meshing properly.

    Hi. one question. I've noticed some markings on the pressure plate (visible on 6:15 in the video), the markings look like minus signs in circles (two of them). Are those markings important to assemble the clutch in the right way?
    I've changed my clutch plates but not sure about the orientation of the pressure plate. I see those markings on the pressure plate but nothing on the basket. Can somebody explain it to me.
    Thanks

      They are just casting marks. Not relevant.

      Hi again +Orlando. Hope you were able to speak with one of our customer service reps. If you haven't had a chance to call, I just wanted to let you know that the part numbers for all the Clutch components are exactly the same for the 2012 Honda CBR600RR 2A, 2012 Honda CBR600RR 3AC, 2012 Honda CBR600RR A, and the 2012 Honda CBR600RR AC
      So you could order parts from any of the above models and they would be exactly the same parts. Here's the CBR600RR A, clutch diagram for reference: www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2012/CBR600RR+A/CLUTCH/parts.html

    Yeah I put 7.5 foot pounds and it broke my bolt off inside the clutch.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  6 років тому +1

      That's the worst! Get it extracted and try again. Sometimes the bolts are stretched out or have a defect which will cause it to break. That shouldn't happen often.

      Partzilla my clutch is very heavy that hurts my wrist after a while. Would it be the cable adjustment or the clutch needs to be replaced?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  6 років тому

      Try lubing the cable first. Sometimes, after awhile, you get friction.

      It's a wet clutch, the engine oil runs through this area. No need for separate oil.

      I had an F2 and you had to remove the springs and remove the nut In the middle of the clutch while keeping the clutch from spinning. There is a tool to keep it from spinning but many people just use something soft like wood to jam in there and keep it from moving, and not break any gears. The F3 may be different, I'm sure there's a write up online you can look at
