He has made me want to watch hockey again. I live in Sherwood Park 20mins from Edmonton. I played hockey for lots of my life from age 3-4 to 16ish. Now at 20 im trying to get back into it aand play in a league again.

I live 2-3 minute drive/20 minute walk from him. His house is a giant on the block he lives on. Another home was demolished so his can take its spot. Custom built. The area he lives in is very ritzy. Oh Edmonton is a great place. Born and raised and never left.

Crazy to think of the discrepancy in endorsement deals between the NBA and the NHL. Lebron James made between $60M and $80M in endorsement deals last year alone, whereas the greatest NHL player, perhaps of all time, made less than $5M.
It’s crazy but hockey is definitely at an all time high. I’ll give credit to ESPN for raising its popularity over the last couple years. Hopefully the players can see their endorsement potential rise.

This video has a few things wrong lol. His house isn’t in the Windermere neighbor hood. And it’s not worth 4 mill. It’s worth about 14 mill. Also his net worth is way more as his 100m dollar contract, 80m of that was a signing bonus.
80m signing bonus doesn’t equal 80m in net worth. Taxes, agent fees will wipe out over half. And what’s left doesn’t equal liquidity necessarily. I corrected the location of his house in the description. And at the time when he bought the house that it was it sold for.

I just rewatched the 1989 first round king vs oilers. End of the oilers legacy, and against gretzky. It was so nostalgic but todays game ain't nothing like the old game. It took McDavid 8 years to FINALLY score more than 50. That DOES NOT put him in the category of best players in the history of the NHL.
Because he is a pass first player, essentially a set up guy. When he focuses on goal scoring, he can score 70 in a season. He's the best player of all time.
