A few days ago I just finished installing a brushless motor and esc in the Mojave Grom. Swapped out the diff cups, the Arrma cvd’s, wheel hexes. And paired up to a FlySky Noble. Still haven’t ran cause been busy with other RC projects.
The Spektrum charger is known to burn up. I’ve just been using my full size charger. The diffs aren’t full metal. After 2 months I finally got a set of back ordered full metal diffs from Arrma. Full metal diff gears and metal drive cups. Don’t know why they didn’t include them with this new truck. Kinda BS.
Hey Matt, You know I have been waiting to see this! This looks better than I expected it to! (I have a parent with medical issues, I moved In to help) I have to spend lots of time around hospital parking garages and parking lots and I have been looking for something smaller scale I can easily throw in the trunk. I have crawlers ready but not lots to crawl. I will probably get a couple of these when the financing allows it. Thank you!
@@johnnyhotshoe1292 this thing should be perfect for what you’re looking to do! Pick you up a set of the drift wheels also. That could be a blast in those parking garages. Glad the vid may have helped!
Depending on the motor system in your crawler, I may or may not have put a set of drift wheels on my TRX4 Sport with a Quicrun Fusion 2300kv... And it drifts REAL nice lol. Looks funny, but, save some money!
Hey Matt.. got mine last Saturday.. RED . My body stayed on great... And believe me i unintentionally tested the crap out of that (a few times).. NOTHING BROKE ... not as fast as i would have hoped... But i can fix that! lol
For me, these little Groms are perfect for an indoor track. Carpet if you can, or just throw down some gym mat tiles, which is what I did. Make some jumps with large cardboard boxes and you can make it as fun as your space allows. I have two Typhon Groms, two Mini-Bs, Mini-Z, and plan on adding a Mojave Grom to the mini fleet. If you make this scale brushless, they are awesome on a 1/10th scale carpet track, and I've run my brushless Mini-B on clay tracks and loose dirt tracks too, both were awesome. Any general bashing though and 1/16th scale and smaller kinda suck, just can't handle much with a half inch of ground clearance 😆
@@GeddyRC totally agree. I’ve got a couple brushless mini bs and they were actually a lot of fun on a track. Even on a large 1/10 scale clay track we had a blast with them.
@@ScottPDX thanks! They are pretty hard to come by now. I got several off Amazon before they disappeared. Now they are available here and there for a jacked up price lol. Here’s one on eBay atm. @@nunocarneiro464 I just have too many large bashers. I’m used to taking them basically anywhere lol. Indoor though these small ones are a blast! Kinda the same as the crawlers. When I go out crawling most the time I wanna run my 1/10s but at home or indoors the 1/24s are where it’s at lol
Anyone got a link or good recommendations to drift wheel sets for this Mojave grom? Seeing this video makes me want to get a second one just for that. Love the video.
I bought some Yokomo wheels that is a similar yellow to the stock wheels, if you happen to have the blue livery. The downside is that I now want to look into a proper drift car!😂
Great video here Matt. One question i have is if using a different charger how do you know how much to charge? Unless is got a display and can be paired to the battery specs. I just answered my own question. I was looking at a Typhon Grom too but this looks even better👌👍

ITs a really fun truck!!
Fun trucks that look great!
Slight note *metal diffs are ring, pinion, and spider; still plastic Sun gears and drive cups.

Not sure if it could be done with a thick enough material, but if you could vacuum form those ramps you have - I think you could sell a mess of them.
Local hobby shop showed them off in stock and kinda wanted one but now I’m headin down there tomorrow hoping they still got some 🎉

Right!? I've traction rolled mine plenty just on asphalt. Body stays on, and 9 time out of 10, it lands on its wheels!🤣

Where can I buy those drift wheels you have?

That is a basher , you just gotta keep the obstacles in the same scale
@@nunocarneiro464 yeah. Thats pretty hard to do when they are this small. Definitely a lot of fun in certain spots.

I couldn’t keep the motor under 200 degrees without replacing the fan for a 30mm 28k rpm in the stock location.
