I can't believe these are so reasonably priced too. I figured $260-280 for the RTR when I saw the launch video go live. Plus 3S and 50mph in these smaller bashers is something you typically only get from the cheaper overseas offerings. It's kinda insane this exists and I commend Horizon Hobby and Arrma for making it.
For that much would be a hard sell. Even 230 rtr I wouldn't get but good for newer hobbyists 200 one is good value though for someone with batteries and charger already.
@RockRodRC Sorry bud. I gotta disagree. This is a very good deal, considering how well the trucks drive, how nice the clipless body's are and how durable they are. Nothing else on the market comes close to comparing. Not the MX Hyper-gos or the new traxxas mini maxes... Best bang for the buck out there. 💯💯💯
Love the chanel and all the content got back into the rc hobby a few years ago hot and heavy and watching your videos really helps me out when getting a new RTR keep up the awesome work
I love all 3 color schemes. I jump the gun and ordered 3 brushed models to boost one to brushless and of course one went to significant other so she can't complain.😅 I think this will be a great seller for ARRMA. I even want the buggy. They have really shined this year. Bosses should be happy.
Yeah SCTs are the opposite of stable or will go straight above like 40mph. It is funny though to see the ponderous nature of a SCT almost proportionally scaled down to happen at 30mph with the Grom BLX haha.
These look so good. Kind of pissed they did this right after I got the brushed version and swapped everything out. Figured they would make a BL model but not nearly this soon.
I was already on the fence about buying a used Grom and swapping the ESC and motor, now it's just included as a RTR. Hopefully they make a Granite Grom BLX, will grab one for my friend so we can ride together. I already have mine on order, now to just wait for it to come in, I hope it's here in time for Gromapalooza.
Great truck with huge value now with all the factory upgrades. What would have made it an absolute slam dunk would have been making the receiver dual protocol to support the upgraded spectrum DSMR transmitters.
@@JT-6s rest assured, someone makes the pinion, people were just mad that traxxas themselves didn’t. Either way I don’t know why they aren’t honest. 45mph advertising would sell just fine!
I dont prefer minis, but when i hear brushless i have to check it out. Just put it this way when thinking of cost and value, some people pay more for a pair of sneakers or work boots. 200.00 bucks for this is very fair and its backed by Horizon and developed by Arrma.
@@zacharyjacobs7233 I just noticed that as I was Arrma's new line of RC's. I really wish I had waited and not purchased 2 brushed versions of the grom. Oh well ... Perhaps latter I will get one. Thanks for the tip.
what i like is the bigger battery tray compared to my hbx 16890. The rest is nothing cheaper chinese brands haven't done before. My brushpess hbx16890 is bulletproof even on 3s with aftermarket esc. Hits more than 35mph with 14t pinion and 3800kv motor. 50mph is good but useless on such small scale. What i like about this arrma is the body and wheels details making it scale realistic.
Which DSC mode did you have it on? Looks like it does not hit the 35/2S or 50/3S claimed, which is not a deal breaker for me. Have they improved the reverse speed? Does the color of the blue wheels on the BLX match the MEGA blue body well? If so, I might put them on the MEGA.
I think you are limited by your lipo, the mah and the C. I think I would still prefer a Furitek or Castle system, but the fact that they have the upgraded diffs in them, would make me buy one so I atleast I don’t have to do that.
They are not the same. They all vary from one to another. One thing about the Typhon is much less wind resistance. Basically it’s a faster designed vehicle so yeah it should not only be faster but also handle better
Because 25 amp is low for 3s and Mojave has significantly more rotational mass heavier cumbersome I just put the metal diff in rear Mojave , bl 2s system and concluded to no point not gutting the body if your going for performance, I have stock grom that I want give to the kids but I only have expensive upgrades and can’t get dam hex off 😂
RC Saylors got 48. Idk why Exo only got 45.. but I think it's 6 mph slower because of weight and gearing. Mojave is a tiny bit heavier and is probably geared a little more conservatively to counter that.
@@CarsonLowman ….no probably not… if you run any 3s truck on 6s it would be uncontrollably fast even on 1/10 or 1/8th scale. The gearboxes are geared to go 50 on 3s so 6s would just flop around like crazy! 🤣

I am thinking we will see the same brushless systems in the Losi nascar soon! Would be cool anyways. Great Review!

That's freaking awesome need to get one

Man I was gonna say that 😂😂😂😂 !!! lol!
Came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed
Congrats on the exclusive! Nice running footage.
Another channel got 37 and 54 with the Typhon. It looked to be more stable at high speeds

I saw that also….this grom exo is running looks like it’s doing 50+
The Typhon Grom is rock steady at high speed, but I like the Mojave a bit more overall.
It's less stable with all the high speeds.
RC Saylors got 48 mph with the Mojave. Idk why Exo only got 45
Well it’s tough! 🤣 these would be incredible on a smaller dirt track
Love the video! Just preordered the Teal version, can’t wait to get it!

Gotta make a small scale dirt track joe! These and the new losi micro-B would be so fun. Something like PSF RC has going on!
I used your link and ordered the typhon grom blx. Hope you get a commission for it! Thanks for your videos!
Once again, Big influencer!!! I am texting Dixieland RC about them now. Thanks Joe.
I have a new brushed version in the box. Wish I'd of know it would drop brushless so soon. Oh well. Brushed is fast enough for our track

I have a feeling that they might bring a Infraction Grom

Prettty sweet for a mini
40mph is insane for something this small
The RC Saylors got 48 mph. Thing is a rocket
looks like Arrma started Traxxifying the speeds 😆
Lol. But to truly Traxxify it, it’d need a pinion that nobody makes.

RCDriver_Online went over the advertised speeds with his BLX Typhon. 🤷♂
I put 80wt shock oil in my brushless mojaves, made a very noticeable difference for the better.
They also have 4 modes of stability control on these little things. That’s why the power button on the radio is orange.
Wow no way

You can buy into LC RACING'S 14th scale EMB range with beautiful alloy parts for the same price of the brushless GROM range from ARRMA .
I'm sure you have a point somewhere.
Bad ass... I got 2, the black/gold for me and the Teal/pink for the daughter. Can't wait to rip em!

Can it pair to a dx5 controller ?
How are they managing 2 and 3 s with 50mph on 3s with 25amp esc? Amazing
Bc it’s tiny…. 1/10th scales can do 50+ on 60 or 80 amp 🤷🏼♂️

They do. The BLX comes with the fully upgraded steel diffs. The MEGAs are also sealed.
