Great deep dive! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the guts of this thing and now really don’t regret getting myself the brushless majave blx grom with all the upgrades. Just hope I don’t have to open it up anytime soon lol but if I do, this gave me a decent idea of where to start…cheers!
You did a great review , outstanding how you took it all apart, I enjoyed it,, learned some thing new, iam a crawler but just got one in the mail,, the blue one, sweet!! thanks for all you do!!
@@DHoppey10 I used a Reedy 280-SL4 4500kV motor with a QuicRun-WP-16BL30 ESC and some OVONIC 3S 3000mAh 50C batteries. Its on the stock gear ratio also. The motor does run a bit hot on 3S so I installed a 28,000rpm 30x30mm Fan over top of the motor and it helped keep the temps down. Having a Gyro receiver helped a lot keeping the truck straight on high speed runs also. I highly recommend doing that if you are planning on making it reach speeds near 60mph or more because it can be a hand full to drive without it lol.. Whatever system you decide to go with make sure the motor has a 2.3mm shaft and not a 2.0mm like the Mini B brushless 2 in 1 setup.
@@Shreddylife awesome man thanks for the reply…i just picked one up and im wanting to go brushless eventually and wanting to do some good crucial upgrades first
@@DHoppey10 No problem at all! I ordered some metal diffs a couple days ago because I know the stock ones will strip out with the power I am running. I plan to do outer cups and upgrade the suspension after that I think it should be good to go for a while lol
Great video , I really fancy one of these little trucks , they just look like fun , that screw driver is good but I do the same just holding it very loose so it spins as soon as it starts to tighten down , up to now after using it for a few weeks I have stripped one screw so not bad , little trucks like this are great for guys like me , I am disabled with spinal injuries so when I do get the chance to go out I prefer to use my mobility scooter so if I flip a car I can drive over to the car and flip it back over , so these are a great size to take out I have had my mojave 6s and xmaxx on my scooter but its not easy and I get some very funny looks when I go to my local park but so bloody what lol , I think I will order one or two and see if my wife will have a go , thanks for the great information on the truck , stay safe mate and all the best from over the pond .
Mine arrived Aug 16. Af first very impressed ...but after 3 batteries of normal running around a road course, the diff is gone! Still running bone stock. What a disappointment! Plastic gears at 24:21 stripped. I take care of my stuff, unlike others who send 1/18 RCs off skatepark ramps....normal scale driving lasted 2 days! Nice review....i wush i had seen the internals you showed before purchasing.
They are different. The Chinese brand is brushless for the same price. It’s WAY faster. But the arrma is just buttery and refined in comparison. We will be throwing some oil filled shocks in the Q130 and see if it helps it feel a little better. The stock shocks on that thing are HORRIBLE.

It's a beast! The brushless is awesome!!!!
Glad to see you are still doing these!!!
Thanks dude!

Glad it was helpful! Huge thanks for watching.
I just ordered one. Beautiful car.
You’re gonna love it!! B
I got mine to go 57mph with a brushless system on 3S 😆 it handles so good with the gyro receiver i installed too!
That’s awesome. You should tell everyone what system your are running. ;)
@@Shreddylife hell yea! 🤟 what system did you go with?

@@keithbutler6361 thanks!
first... neat little truck. saw it racing against bigger ones of its type... was fun to watch the carnage
that suspension tho!
when you go brushless on these little guys, they are NUTSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

We haven’t had any diff issues but I have heard of others. :-/. I hope we get some more aftermarket support on these.
@@spoiler42ify Thinking the diff goes because some units don’t have enough grease behind the sun gear and causes the gear to heat up and strip out
This little demon will become mine. That suspension tho!
It’s so dope!!!
I got the blue one!!!! Its sick!!!!
They are such a blast!!!
Awesome thank you
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching!!!
one of the differences is the front hubs. They are skinnier than the Typhon or Granite.
Good info.
Doesn't the Mojave have a center differential that the Senton does not?
Yeah, my Mojave 4s has a center diff. It's so loud but makes the truck handle soooo good!
No center diff.
Where is the grom vortex
Waiting…. Lol
i knew you would like the Mojave...better than that chinese brand you reviewed the other week?

this messes my brain. i keep saying typhoon like the plane.. arma should suffer for this
Hahhaa yeah, it’s an odd one.
