I saw a new NP yesterday. She was not happy about my meat based diet and said it wasn't safe. She actually told me she "guessed" I probably have at least stage 1 kidney disease if not stage 2. She told me it's not possible to reverse diabetes. She called me herself today to tell me my A1c is 6.9. It was 11.2 this time last year. I told her the next one will be 5.0. Watch me!

Hubby has the same happen, I was asked to leave the diabetic nurses office after questioning her sense in telling a diabetic to have wholemeal toast for breakfast when he has never eaten breakfast in his life.
After 3 months on low carb(he won't join me on the dark side 😁)(yet) I had his bloods back to between 5-6, the nurse couldn't understand it, wish I could of been there to tell her to F off.

I did some research and stopped the statin and everything went back to normal. At first I just thought it was age. I also started keto. I am ketovore. Very few carbs. I am stronger than ever. We've been going to a naturopath focusing on actual healthcare and things that would be preventative over sickcare. Food is the most important medicine for people. Hospitals are so backwards and there's so much money flowing through there it would be like steering the Titanic with a paddle. We won't see change until people start opening their eyes....and that's true for so much more than just the medical industry.

I can relate....after my stroke in was in therapy. The food during that stay was so nasty! You know when your shit is almost unbearable to even you somethings not right. I started to feel healthier after I got home it took a bit to back to normal. It felt like I got way to much food. Funny, I hear about the fasting and one meal a day I chuckle cuz I've been eating like this for 40 years. I never knew anything about fasting....but instinctively ate 1 meal a day except while pregnant.
I have a question for you guys how is it now trying to eat just meat with the economy being how it is? And also do you have any reservations with not having any knowledge about the country of origin for the meat and the following of sanitation procedures?

I’d like to go further and say the term “ healthcare industry“, shouldn’t even exist. Medical practice. Health care. There is no practicing of medicine in the so-called healthcare industry. There is simply the practice of creating unending income streams from people who have been sickened by having worthless solutions thrown at them. If I break a bone, I’m going straight to the ER, but if I’m having some sort of complaint with my body I go to my acupuncturist. I no longer trust the medical profession to know what’s the best for me.

WELL. I thought I was ALONE!!!!!
I had pretty bad diabetes and this was fixed by "ketovore" diet. I had so many problems that I never even noticed that I used to have dry heaving and nausea EVERY morning. One day, though, I couldn't even eat anything... Tests were all inconclusive. I even ended up having endoscopies and even an exploratory surgery!!! Because they thought I had swallowed a metallic bristle from a grill brush 🤷‍♂. I also had macular edema around that time!!! Eventually, I was diagnosed with SIBO with a breath test. No matter what I did, it wouldn't go away: antibiotics, probiotics, tons of fiber supplements. Other complications (renal failure, retinopathy and the macular edema, a non-healing ulcer on my foot) and ever-increasing doses of insulin made me switch to keto / ketovore. All this stuff went away. Today, ~3 years later: normal kidney function, normal blood sugars, A1c 4.9-5.1, retinopathy reversed, no SIBO, no heartburn, no gastroparesis, no weakness, no dizziness, no headaches (migraines all my life before)!
    A-freakin-MAZING.

This might sound sillyu, but I was so happy when - a few weeks ago - I dropped a blender blade on my foot and got a nasty cut on a toe. Why? First because it hurt! Pain is so awesome, we take it for granted or berate it. But the feeling of having no feeling is so much scarier! And then, because it actually healed normally in ~10 days. Big deal. Before: this would have been a months long, life threatening situation for me.

Wow! Great show. Amanda and I have a lot in common. I’m new. 1 month carnivore, just finished 2 month BBBE with Dr. Ken Berry and Beef & Butter Girl. From Dec. 25,2022 - Feb. 27, 2023, I lost 10 lbs., totally ecstatic. Migraines gone, headaches gone; I did get Pink Eye. It healed really fast. Currently I have shingles. Yeah! I’m thinking it’s all got to come out. I’ve been really un-well for 1/2 century. I’m 58 in 25 days. My downs were 2015-2017, spend most my life on couch. Right now I’m healing fast. Faster then everything I read, watched, & been shared info. When I started I said I’d do it from January1-31; then I jumped into February BBBE. I complete it tomorrow. Brain fog is gone. Mean temper gone. Pain free until last Monday when Shingles came to be. I made my own tincture topical and internals I use mine and Dr. Berg’s vitamin suggestions. I’m doing very well. I do Omad & 2mad. I personally don’t care for the butter bites. I made them. I’ve decided to just keep it simple. I’m really loving this concoction called carnivore coffee. Scoop of salt to taste or whichever I’m in the mood for with 2 egg yokes and 4 tbsp. Butter hot water 12 ounces. Let it sit 30 seconds whip/stir then add more hot water and cool water. It’s yummy! I stopped coffee, HWC, & stevia. I’m on correct vitamins. I’m MTHFR. My sleep has gotten better. I’ve been a walking zombie for years. Now 7-8 hours of sleep each night. I’m working on my IR and other issues. I bought the keto mojo. There’s nothing like taking charge of my health. I’ve fought the system since youth. To dust we return. This was a topic I’m so happy to have watched.

@@danielmcinerney9949 I'm glad you're making progress, and wish you luck.
I've been overweight for most of my life, and since going carnivore, I've lost nearly 100 pounds and for the first time since maybe high school, I'm at a normal body weight. I'm mostly focused on losing fat (especially visceral fat). I don't know your situation, of course, but to gain weight, I'd recommend trying to build muscle as that has good knock-on effects.
I have some pretty strong opinions on food, which you may take with however many grains of salt as you wish.
My diet is pretty restrictive. I stick to grass-fed beef and organs (especially liver). With only animal fats (mostly ghee) - no seed/vegetable oils at all. And I avoid highly processed foods like the plague. The only plants I eat are fermented vegetables - pickles, olives, garlic, sauerkraut, kimchi, etc.
I would recommend focusing on your gut health. The evidence of an association between gut microbiome and autoimmune disorders is growing, and I'm convinced it has played a big part in my own health journey, with a history of food allergies and IBD that is all under control over the last couple years. My biggest suggestion on this is to get as big a variety of fermented foods as possible. Apple Cider Vinegar - provided it's the raw stuff with the mother - is great, but in addition to the fermented veggies, I also do yogurt and kefir. (I've started making my own kefir which has been great and it's super easy)
Look up Dr. Sean O'Mara. He has a list of strategies for optimizing health that includes the strict carnivore/fermented veggie diet, extended fasting, cold/heat exposure, and maximum intensity exercise. His belief is that visceral fat (which can be invisible externally) is the source of chronic disease. I haven't had sugar in a month. For years before this I would get headaches pretty much every single day. If I went for more than a day without a headache it was very unusual. My sinuses would swell and ache. The back corner of my head where it meets my neck would thump straight through to my eyeball which would burn and feel like someone was putting a needle in it. This was frequent. My vision would get blurry. The headache would move from one side to the other from day to day.
When I started eating only meat my inflammation and headaches started going away in a day. I gave it a week and decided to experiment. I ate a small package of snack donuts from a vending machine. Within minutes I had a headache. Clear correlation. Since then it's been a month with no headaches and 100% carnivore. Other inflammation is gone! My energy levels have increased and stay stable all day. The tendonitis I had is gone. The pain in my hands is gone. The horrible bloating that I used to get in my abdomen after eating carbs is gone. This was so bad that the inflammation would actually affect my lung capacity. This is all gone! As a bonus I've lost 20lbs. This May not work for everyone but it's working for me and changing my life for sure.

When they diagnosed my Cushing’s Syndrome because of an adrenal tumor they called it sub clinical. I believe that due to my super diet it masked the real cause. My bloodwork is remarkable with normality and classic signs of an out of control adrenal.

i went to the Doc with an out of control A1C (was 12 a year ago and 10 after doing modified keto.) Told him I just started Carnivore and my BP and fasting BS was dropping. He told me I had to go on meds and that dropping carbs would not help my blood sugar (am gobsmacked at this point.) I am pretty sure I am super insulin resistant and need a 0 carb to rectify my issues. YAY Carnivore! I love my bacon and steaks!
Then he continued to try to put me on a statin even though Lipitor is on the list of drugs I am allergic to (high liver enzymes after taking and doc told me necrosis if I continued. Never to take again.) I refused both meds with a very unhappy Doc saying I was going to die. And trying to argue over the necrosis I told him about. I said we can do the tests in 3 months and see where we are. I already know I am changing Doctors again. But I want him to see first hand what this is going to do to labs and maybe he can grow from it.
I no longer trust doctors. I have won a malpractice suit in Colorado 20 years ago, for a Doc almost killing me by not diagnosing me with hyperparathyroidism, even though I had coma high blood calcium levels. Then the Surgeon cut my jugular during the removal of two parathyroids with tumors. Benign! I almost died from blood loss. 3 times he brought me out of anesthesia only to have my throat fill with blood and back down again to look more. He did finally find it. But I was weak and sick for years. I understand why now. At this point I was disabled and have not worked since. Here I was a single mom with 3 kids. WOW!
Now I am looking at a bright future. Everything is getting better. Give me a year and who knows, I might even be working again. Life is wonderful. Full of wonder. Trust your own instincts. Docs are there to make money. If it is an emergency, I would trust a Doc. If it is chronic health care, nope! Stop taking pills to fix your issues. Try diet, behavior modification, and exercise. Sunshine and sweating out the toxins. Good read meat to fuel your body! Lots of good fats and watch your health change for the better! Your brain loves fat and sunshine!

I get the ocular migraines. Before I became carnivore, I decided to do a no carb diet in 2018 (in other words, starve myself). After doing that for six months, treated myself to a piece of oreo cookie cake and had an instant ocular migraine. Still did not make the connection to sugar. In hindsight I see it of course.

      Hi @gingergal !
I also suffer occular migraines since grade five after a head injury in gym class . It’s the exact same thing for me , I’ve got to stay mostly lion , super low low carb . If I dare eat ANY sugar at all , it triggers the Occular misery & I have to take rizatriptan.
I’ve had 8 of them in 2022 . The most I’ve ever had is 1-2. A year & even skipping a year . I think I was oxalate dumping from my eye 6 mos into carnivore after I got a pimple in my lower water line & buring , irritation.
Went to eye Dr & the eye pressure test they did triggered an in office occular migraine & several rebounds . Then the steroid drops triggered more of them .
      🫢😭

I get ocular migraines too. Or I should say did. I haven’t had one in months now. I wish I would have put it together because this happened on my birthday. We had eaten out and had dessert. The next day I was unable to function. It is wild. I always wondered if because I was keto for 9 months and then ate tiramisu for my birthday dessert if my body just went into sugar overload. I don’t know. It’s not like I had never eaten tiramisu before. 🤷‍♀️

The first macular migraine I had was after having drank a soda at the swap meet. So how do I been caused by a spike in blood sugar that my body couldn’t handle. Later on however, I’ve determined that it’s low sodium for me. I also have occasional bouts with vertigo, which seem to be seasonal allergy related however, I have begun to suspect that this is a form of migraine as well.
