- How to convert to a tubeless MTB tire setup.
If your MTB came with tubeless ready tires, but is still tubed from the factory, then it may be time to take the plunge into a tubeless setup. Totally worth it in my opinion, and continues to get easier as manufacturers refine their products.

My LBS recommended heating the rim tape with a hair dryer while using a plastic tire lever to bed down the tape. It works for me.

If i can add something, when applying the tape, you can wiggle it from left to right when you are stretching it into the rim inner channel. It will help stick the tape all the way down into it, and have a way more sturdier bond between the tape and the rim :)

Minor point - you can still pinch flat a tubeless tire… the sidewall just above the bead can get cut if running very low pressures and striking a rock hard. I know, because i did it… it won’t seal!
