The Home Again one from Remake is the one for me. I love each arrangement of Aerith's theme but somehow the Coziness of that song feels like I was the one who accompanied Aerith Back to Elmyra from the Church. Also, if you think about it, it will easily make you cry knowing that Elmyra wouldn't meet Aerith again since her being captured by shinra. I love their mother-daughter relationship.

When this plays in Part 3 when Cloud's memories of what actually happens are restored, and Sephiroth will fully and truly break his mind, I will be sobbing. Even if they manage to save her by the process of Reunion, getting the full scene as the climax for Cloud's utter and complete mental breakdown is going to be as heart wrenching, or possibly even more so than the original scene. I will never be ready.
@@diz5632They show a heavily redacted version. And Sephiroth is enough of a manipulator that he's 100% going to use it to break Cloud. The remake project has been very faithful in making sure elements get shown with the same impact and spirit as the OG, which didn't happen for Aerith's death, and they it feels very intentionally done to ensure we're left questioning reality by the end of Rebirth. And without Aerith dying, Cloud has no reason to break. Hence, like they've done with so much of this project, it seems logical that they are taking one of the most impactful scenes and ramping up the emotions on Cloud and the player by 110%.

Cloud will be a mess on part 3, and if she's really imagining Aerith at all and didn't process her death yet, it will make his persona in Advent Children more beliavable with so much guilty for both Zack and Aerith

Finished the game last night and was really, really hoping it wouldn’t happen this time. Even got my hopes up after seeing Cloud deflect Sephiroth’s sword, but nope. I’m gonna miss her so much. Replaying Remake and Rebirth before part 3 is gonna sting hard knowing what happens to her in the end.
I was literally in tears while fighting the last boss with this music in the background, I want to pepper that sob with Limit Breaks and Synergy Skills.

The rift in this timeline which cloud could see in the end because he is now in some kind of overlapping universe? In one he saved Aerith in one he didn’t hence he could see Aerith in the end. And this Aerith was not his hallucination because she even interacted with the party when cloud wasn’t there, Nanaki could even sense her. She was also there in the end battle physically as well as Zack. You think this whole buildup during remake and rebirth was for nothing? *SPOILERS* Regardless if she is dead or not, the ending made painfully clear that she is no longer on the main timelines adventure. That is heartbreaking there wont be the flower girl to fight with in part 3.
I can’t listen to this without breaking into tears. As a musician, I was looking for all of the soundtrack of rebirth. Little did I know that this track would spoil the ending for me, since we know how to listen for musical cues. The second a choir shows up,and when the score goes from thick to just piano, you know someone is dead.
The moment in the original where this theme starts playing......trying to contain the tears..... ....and as soon as Holy makes the first contact with the floor, hearing the first blaringly loud "PING" over it.... ...that's the moment where you cannot contain them anymore..... Holy hitting the floor just as hard as the realization that this was not a dream and she is gone for real....

It is incomprehensible that they would slaughter such an iconic and unique character in this way. With her appearance, character, and unique abilities, she has left an unforgettable impression. She was my favorite character after Cloud himself. It is incomprehensible. She deserved better. But, okay, choices have been made.
Anyone else terrified of part 3 being like the og even if its not 1 for 1? Why bring up [fate, destiny, arbiters, whispers, different worlds] at all if its just going to end in the same way anyway? The devs wanted to do something new while keeping the beats of the old? We'll see with part 3... If its about bringing Zack back, they could have just completely rebuilt Crisis Core from the ground up. No need for timelines, etc. If it was to give us hope that we could save Aerith, why give us hope only to rip it away? To generate hype and to get people talking? What is the point of [fate, destiny, arbiters, whispers, different worlds] if Chekovs Gun is firing at nothing, anyway? To restart, reignite a war like the firing of The Sister Ray Canon as we see in Rebirth? If the remake trilogy is a sequel to ogFF7 and AC, my hope is that it ends in a spiral, and not a full complete circle. If it was because of a popularity contest with Zack or a western audience preference for Tifa, while that seems benign; I hope to Gaia+Minerva that that it doesn't replacev + retcon the relationship chemistry + impact, presented with Cloud and Aerith as seen through the original 1997 FF7, AC, Remake and Rebirth. And frankly, I don't understand how the hell people would ever think Aerith and Tifa hated each other going from the original game. Absolutely projection there. I'm very happy Rebirth fleshed out their friendship. In 1997, Final Fantasy 7 og really shook things up when they killed the female lead and main love interest for the protagonist. The ongoing themes of the story centering on loss, the importance of life, and the mental trauma of those who remain. I was 13 when I played ogFF7 in 1997. I absolutely loved the game, its story, its characters. For me, it was very easy to see that Aerith was the female lead and main love interest. And this was before I started liking girls, right. But I remember being so happy that Cloud had someone in Tifa with all the hell he's been through, especially Cloud being the main character in the story of FF7. I was even excited about the highwind scene. But still, Cloud's driving force was a now dead Aerith. "The promised land. I think I can meet her there..." And thats a feeling thay always stayed with me and probably will for the rest of my life, just like Cloud. And I was absolutely one of many who thought we could revive Aerith somehow if we just did X this or that thing. Even using a gameshark so that we could play as Aerith, Young Cloud, Ssphiroth, and Zack. Having suffered my own despair, trauma, mental anguish, loneliness, and abuse throughout my life... Its difficult and heartwrenching to see the death of someone you loved all over again, despite they're being a fictional character. As they say, art imitates life. And in my life, in this world, I've only ever experienced pain, despair and loss. I've never had an Aerith or a Tifa to save my dying world. The only grace I had that is that "Everyone dies eventually... All are bound to her.. Return to the planet... Peeople we love are never truly gone..." I like Zack from ogFF7 to present. And, I like Tifa. And then I came to the internet and was exposed to all of the stupid shipping wars. Everybody tearing each other apart over who loves who. To the point, I started liking both Zack and Tifa less. But, I understand their place as part of the support structure for Cloud. What makes me sick though is there are people who glee at Aeriths death because 'now he belongs to Tifa.' And its like holy ffs... Then there are those who push Aeriths ex, Zack using that as a weapon against Cloud saying that '"Cloud is sick and doesn't know who he is or what he wants. What him and Aerith have isn't real " And it truly disgusts me some of the things I've seen or read. Like there are people who really think this? 1. Traumatized Cloud placed himself as Zack, and is also Zack-s living legacy. 2. Aerith moved on after 87 letters and 5 years. Saw Cloud, saw he was similar to Zack, and drcided, "Have to move forward, not back." 3. Tifa and Cloud were not friends growing up. Cloud and Tifa had a distant crush on each other. A childhood love. 4. Cloud and Aerith find each other as adults and the real love blooms from that through all of FF7 to AC. Can you imagine loving someone so deeply, loosing that person, and then immediately jumping to the rebound, the backup? I sure as hell can't. And in our world, there are many who simply can't move on, and or they die soon after losing their beloved. Its a real thing that happens. The glorified version of loss is "just move on." But its not clear cut like many think that it is. For Cloud, "Aerith is someone ingrained in his heart for the rest of his life." Tifa can't and never will replace Aerith, she can only be the support for an ailing Cloud. Just as Zack will be a support for Aerith who sees Cloud as her kobito, her beloved, and the most important person to her that needs to be protected. And thats why Zack and Tifa are therevfor them. Especially Zack for Cloud. I think in part 3. Aerith will be very playable at some point. Imagine an Aerith with her hair down, yellow flower pin wearing, weilding her Princess Guard ultimate weapon that includes a melee physical fighting style (see ff7 og) in addition to her powered Lifestream + Holy magic,plus her Level 4 Limit Break, Great Gospel. I will die to see this in part 3.🎉 Lastly. Aeriths theme may be seen by many as a theme of her death or funeral. But I think its critical to see her theme as a rememberance, a reverence for life, her life, as well as her love for friends, and especially Cloud. Aerith = Air + Earth. *AirEarth* *Clouds* become a healing rain, Fall to the Earth, cleansing the world before returning to the skies, before returning to the earth. Cloud and Aerith represent the real promised land that is sought out by so many within the world of FF7.
THAT’S WHY I HATED PART 2 THANK YOOOOOOOU IT FELT THEY WERE HYPING UP SO MUCH STUFF THAT WE NEVER GOT LIKE THE OG CHARACTERS MERGING INTO THE REMAKE TIMELINE AND WHAT NOT I WILL NEEEEVER FORGET THE THEORIES OF OG AERITH RETURNING FOR PART 2
In the OG, when I was a little youngling, I didn't that much for Aerith. In the Remake series, she's my favorite character. Well, I love all these characters really but Aerith always gets to my emotions much more. She's like the one ray of hope in this bleak FF7 world and my heart was broken in Rebirth. I'm not entirely satisfied with Aerith's ending, which ultimately isn't much different from the PS version, but this latest theme, both sad and beautiful, is wonderful no matter how many times I hear it. It was great to play the FF7 Rebirth!☄️ (although I need a little recovery to challenge Hard Mode)

I think it is different, in that it made the suffering *worse*. I don't know if you've seen Max's theory. In the OG though, Cloud was able to internalize Aerith's death. Here, according to Max (and I think the evidence lines up, can get into that if anyone would like), basically, Cloud initially hallucinates by imagining himself saving Aerith, when she had actually been slain. Sephiroth's goal is to create maximal suffering, but Cloud hallucinating and not accepting reality was something Sephiroth didn't even expect. Sephiroth even splashed Aerith's blood on him and had the "clouded eyes" remark. Then . . . here's the really fucked up part . . . it seems like Sephiroth just thought on his feet and decided to play into Cloud's delusions and impersonate Aerith. That's the Aerith at the end with the CG cutscenes. So not only does Aerith die, but Cloud gets even more traumatized and fucked up than in the original, and he gets manipulated by her death even more. Which is so evil!
Playing the original game I knew and in a sad messed up way I was looking forward to this because of the story but I wasn’t ready how they brought her back like that.
This somehow captures so much of who aerith is, its beautiful but sad, powerful but shattering, tragically wholesome and both the song and aerith are iconic and forever imprinted onto the hearts of people who have experienced her and her journey. This scene when it is completed in the 3rd will be tough. When cloud sees the reality of what happened and when we see what happened in reality and not the lifestreams fragmented plains of existence. Remember gilgamesh travels to different universes. What we are seeing isnt timelines but the plains of existence within the lifestream (a sort of timeline but not as we would normally view it) Zack dies enters plain of existence where he survived carries cloud to midgar. Biggs dies later after having met cloud in reality (joins lifestream plains of existence after zack). Zack has his own story for how cloud got to midgar and biggs remembers the reality of cloud in midgar. Remember the mercenary confusion and the aerith confusion. Remember all of the "timelines" that zack inhabits are dying. Beacuse they are not reality they are representations of collective consciousness that makes up the lifestream and its plains of existence, which is made up of the dead and can be accessed by aerith and sephiroth. Timelines is too simple and already has major plotholes if it is that. Thats why is something akin to timelines but there is only one physical reality as we know it.

I understood everything sephiroth said and it doesn’t mean anything the devs have said that certain key parts of the story was going to be the same and the most important part is aerith dying period what ever the devs say is the law and the truth when you see aerith and cloud fighting sephiroth together she is a ghost when she is reacting with nanaki it’s proof that she is dead period Zack is alive for now, but in time somehow he will die as well because aerith and Zack are destined to be dead and together you might want to watch Final Fantasy 7 Advent children ending mate lmfao 😂🤣😈 this whole build up during remake and rebirth was for aerith death you will see in part 3 that you can’t change destiny/fate lol 😈 but until then keep being in denial, like cloud when the 3 one comes out I will be more than happy to come back and tell you I told you so mate 😈 fotflmfao 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Little did I know that this track would spoil the ending for me, since we know how to listen for musical cues. The second a choir shows up,and when the score goes from thick to just piano, you know someone is dead.

It is incomprehensible that they would slaughter such an iconic and unique character in this way. With her appearance, character, and unique abilities, she has left an unforgettable impression. She was my favorite character after Cloud himself. It is incomprehensible. She deserved better. But, okay, choices have been made.
Good thing is they baited a lot with the perspective of saving her. And then boom right back to childhood trauma.
Anyone else terrified of part 3 being like the og even if its not 1 for 1? Why bring up [fate, destiny, arbiters, whispers, different worlds] at all if its just going to end in the same way anyway? The devs wanted to do something new while keeping the beats of the old? We'll see with part 3...
If its about bringing Zack back, they could have just completely rebuilt Crisis Core from the ground up. No need for timelines, etc.
If it was to give us hope that we could save Aerith, why give us hope only to rip it away? To generate hype and to get people talking?
What is the point of [fate, destiny, arbiters, whispers, different worlds] if Chekovs Gun is firing at nothing, anyway? To restart, reignite a war like the firing of The Sister Ray Canon as we see in Rebirth?
If the remake trilogy is a sequel to ogFF7 and AC, my hope is that it ends in a spiral, and not a full complete circle.
If it was because of a popularity contest with Zack or a western audience preference for Tifa, while that seems benign; I hope to Gaia+Minerva that that it doesn't replacev + retcon the relationship chemistry + impact, presented with Cloud and Aerith as seen through the original 1997 FF7, AC, Remake and Rebirth. And frankly, I don't understand how the hell people would ever think Aerith and Tifa hated each other going from the original game. Absolutely projection there. I'm very happy Rebirth fleshed out their friendship.
In 1997, Final Fantasy 7 og really shook things up when they killed the female lead and main love interest for the protagonist. The ongoing themes of the story centering on loss, the importance of life, and the mental trauma of those who remain.
I was 13 when I played ogFF7 in 1997. I absolutely loved the game, its story, its characters. For me, it was very easy to see that Aerith was the female lead and main love interest. And this was before I started liking girls, right. But I remember being so happy that Cloud had someone in Tifa with all the hell he's been through, especially Cloud being the main character in the story of FF7. I was even excited about the highwind scene. But still, Cloud's driving force was a now dead Aerith. "The promised land. I think I can meet her there..." And thats a feeling thay always stayed with me and probably will for the rest of my life, just like Cloud. And I was absolutely one of many who thought we could revive Aerith somehow if we just did X this or that thing. Even using a gameshark so that we could play as Aerith, Young Cloud, Ssphiroth, and Zack.
Having suffered my own despair, trauma, mental anguish, loneliness, and abuse throughout my life... Its difficult and heartwrenching to see the death of someone you loved all over again, despite they're being a fictional character. As they say, art imitates life. And in my life, in this world, I've only ever experienced pain, despair and loss. I've never had an Aerith or a Tifa to save my dying world. The only grace I had that is that "Everyone dies eventually... All are bound to her.. Return to the planet... Peeople we love are never truly gone..."
I like Zack from ogFF7 to present. And, I like Tifa. And then I came to the internet and was exposed to all of the stupid shipping wars. Everybody tearing each other apart over who loves who. To the point, I started liking both Zack and Tifa less. But, I understand their place as part of the support structure for Cloud. What makes me sick though is there are people who glee at Aeriths death because 'now he belongs to Tifa.' And its like holy ffs... Then there are those who push Aeriths ex, Zack using that as a weapon against Cloud saying that '"Cloud is sick and doesn't know who he is or what he wants. What him and Aerith have isn't real " And it truly disgusts me some of the things I've seen or read. Like there are people who really think this?
1. Traumatized Cloud placed himself as Zack, and is also Zack-s living legacy.
2. Aerith moved on after 87 letters and 5 years. Saw Cloud, saw he was similar to Zack, and drcided, "Have to move forward, not back."
3. Tifa and Cloud were not friends growing up. Cloud and Tifa had a distant crush on each other. A childhood love.
4. Cloud and Aerith find each other as adults and the real love blooms from that through all of FF7 to AC.
Can you imagine loving someone so deeply, loosing that person, and then immediately jumping to the rebound, the backup? I sure as hell can't. And in our world, there are many who simply can't move on, and or they die soon after losing their beloved. Its a real thing that happens. The glorified version of loss is "just move on." But its not clear cut like many think that it is. For Cloud, "Aerith is someone ingrained in his heart for the rest of his life." Tifa can't and never will replace Aerith, she can only be the support for an ailing Cloud. Just as Zack will be a support for Aerith who sees Cloud as her kobito, her beloved, and the most important person to her that needs to be protected. And thats why Zack and Tifa are therevfor them. Especially Zack for Cloud.
I think in part 3. Aerith will be very playable at some point. Imagine an Aerith with her hair down, yellow flower pin wearing, weilding her Princess Guard ultimate weapon that includes a melee physical fighting style (see ff7 og) in addition to her powered Lifestream + Holy magic,plus her Level 4 Limit Break, Great Gospel.
I will die to see this in part 3.🎉
Lastly. Aeriths theme may be seen by many as a theme of her death or funeral. But I think its critical to see her theme as a rememberance, a reverence for life, her life, as well as her love for friends, and especially Cloud.

*Clouds* become a healing rain,
Fall to the Earth, cleansing the world before returning to the skies, before returning to the earth.
Cloud and Aerith represent the real promised land that is sought out by so many within the world of FF7.

In the OG, when I was a little youngling, I didn't that much for Aerith. In the Remake series, she's my favorite character. I didn't want Aerith to die. Just because the process was a little different, it doesn't feel like her fate changed much. That's my honest impression after finishing the game, feeling it contradicts the ending of FF7 Remake...😢

I think it is different, in that it made the suffering *worse*. I don't know if you've seen Max's theory. In the OG though, Cloud was able to internalize Aerith's death. Here, according to Max (and I think the evidence lines up, can get into that if anyone would like), basically, Cloud initially hallucinates by imagining himself saving Aerith, when she had actually been slain. Sephiroth's goal is to create maximal suffering, but Cloud hallucinating and not accepting reality was something Sephiroth didn't even expect. Sephiroth even splashed Aerith's blood on him and had the "clouded eyes" remark. Then . . . here's the really fucked up part . . . it seems like Sephiroth just thought on his feet and decided to play into Cloud's delusions and impersonate Aerith. That's the Aerith at the end with the CG cutscenes.
So not only does Aerith die, but Cloud gets even more traumatized and fucked up than in the original, and he gets manipulated by her death even more. Which is so evil!

This somehow captures so much of who aerith is, its beautiful but sad, powerful but shattering, tragically wholesome and both the song and aerith are iconic and forever imprinted onto the hearts of people who have experienced her and her journey.
This scene when it is completed in the 3rd will be tough. When cloud sees the reality of what happened and when we see what happened in reality and not the lifestreams fragmented plains of existence.
Remember gilgamesh travels to different universes. What we are seeing isnt timelines but the plains of existence within the lifestream (a sort of timeline but not as we would normally view it)
Zack dies enters plain of existence where he survived carries cloud to midgar. Biggs dies later after having met cloud in reality (joins lifestream plains of existence after zack). Zack has his own story for how cloud got to midgar and biggs remembers the reality of cloud in midgar. Remember the mercenary confusion and the aerith confusion.
Remember all of the "timelines" that zack inhabits are dying. Beacuse they are not reality they are representations of collective consciousness that makes up the lifestream and its plains of existence, which is made up of the dead and can be accessed by aerith and sephiroth.
Timelines is too simple and already has major plotholes if it is that. Thats why is something akin to timelines but there is only one physical reality as we know it.

Both timelines are overlapping for him now which is highlighted by so many clues I just don’t get why many people don’t see it. Sephiroths speech in the very scene. His endgame fusing universes. Cloud fighting alongside Zack and Aerith as well during the final battle. Him seeing the rift from Zack’s universe afterwards . There is an Aerith who is still alive, question is what they gonna do with her in part 3.
