    I've just picked up a 43,000 mile sprint st. I've had so many bikes over the years and am happy to say it's up their with my old blackbird. By the way i traded a fazzer 8 for it. Truimph has won me over.
    Runs like new! Looks gourgous. Oh and it is quick.

    I love my 2011 Sprint GT bought it last march (2017) put around 10,000 miles on it in just 1 year. i put a tri-oval delkevic exhaust on it sounds brilliant.

    I do like your presentation, attitude and perspective. I moved from Sprint ST to Spri t GT, only because wife said I couldn't have both. They are fantastic bikes, tremendous value, reliable, powerful and comfortable. Top heavy, but manageable. Like you, I have no issues with brakes, but I read the road & anticipate possibilities. Good fun, is seeing how far you can go, under varied conditions and speeds, without touching the brakes. Thank you for these videos.

    If you are after a Sprint ST make sure it is a 2008 or newer.
    I have a 2007 and it kept destroying its starter motors.
    This is a known problem that Triumph do not like admit to.
    There is a kit, Part no T1229876 but YOU have to pay for it.
    I have had no further problems since the kit was fitted.
    The other irritating problem is getting the battery out.
    For the sake of a 1/4 inch, the battery cannot be removed without taking off some of bodywork.
    Otherwise, you need about three of you to get it out, one to prise the bodywork out, one to remove the bolts and one to lift out the battery. It's a real pain.
    On the 2008, the tab that goes under the front of the seat can be removed easily and the battery just lifts out.
    Again on the 2007 model, the lights are rubbish, they are OK in town but down a country lane, you will struggle.
    Apart from these problems it is a great bike with great roll on power and it sounds just great.
    I'm hoping to PX my 2007 ST for a late GT. I'm an every rider and the GT has a
    longer seat which would be better. I've never had a problem with the mirrors.

    When you fill it up with fuel brimming the tank does yours take about 10 miles for the fuel gauge to actually indicate the tank is full? Mine does it and it is frikin infuriating. Seems to be a Triumph thing as the same happened on the Street and Speed Triples I have test ridden. Hondas don't do it.
    How much dive do you get in the forks when you give it a handful of front brakes? The suspension is pretty soft. I put EBC double H sintered pads in mine and the brakes are so much better than with the crappy pads Triumph provide. I also replaced the brake fluid and now the brakes are awesome. Rear brake is phenomenal. Yeah these type of folding fairing mounted mirrors are crap. My right one has totally gone so have used black tape to hold the flexible joint together. A replacement mirror unit from Triumph costs well over £100!!! Good review though of everyday riding of the bike. Blue is the fastest colour. The bike is crying out for cruise control. It's definitely a top heavy bike especially with a full tank of fuel and can catch you unawares if manoeuvring around on the drive or in a car park and you lose your balance or footing. Tried to do a U-ey on a small country lane a couple of years ago and dropped it very very slowly. I felt it go but there was no way I was going to stop it so tried to put it down as carefully as I could. Fortunately I have crash bungs so no damage done, but I couldn't lift it up. Had my old man's ashes in the top box as well that I'd just collected from a crematorium. A car stopped and a drop dead gorgeous yummy mummy jumped out and helped me lift it up. Really embarrassing it was, but it can be a handful especially if you are vertically challenged. I would suggest only people with long inside legs 34 inch would be able to put both feet down comfortably when sitting on it. I love the burbling and spitting on over run when you close the throttle. Nice bike but just wish it was lighter and not so top heavy and it had cruise control!

      Brilliant review there Alex!! Everything I totally agree with 👍
      Certainly right blue is the fastest colour!! 🤘 All in all a fantastic bike 😁
      I would reiterate the weight on slow manouvers it can catch you out and definitely for the more taller 👌 thank you for you input, much appreciated.

      I feel your pain... I have a really slow Red one! I was doing a Uturn in Tesco car park... I don't know exactly how it happened. I think I failed to give it enough gas, but the bike tipped and there was nothing I could do, except hang on tight as it slipped through my hands.. I didn't have crash bungs either. I had to get the off side fairing re sprayed and new decals. Also a tiny chip off one of the fins on the engine. A lad, no older than 12z helped me lift the bloody thing back up.. I now have crash bungs and a real fear of dropping it again. Lovely bike, its just a shame about the owner 🤦‍♂️

    • @alexmorgan3435
      @alexmorgan3435 5 років тому +2

      @@DadBod3000 Red ones aren't that slow. I really like the bike, but if I knew then what I know now, then I probably would have gone for something not so tall for me. I only have a 29-30" inside leg you see which means sitting on it I am on tip toes. So glad I got a full set of R&G crash bungs fitted when I bought it otherwise it would be 😭. I find the new Speed and Street Triples fine. I can sit on them fine with both my feet firmly on the ground. Maybe I swap it for a new Speed Triple RS, but I really love the dark navy blue of my Sprint. It is a pretty bike still after 11 years. But then would love a sports bike such as a GSXR 1000 or a BMW S1000R. So many good bikes. .

    After owning a Sprint GT from new in 2012 to 2016, and having several bikes since, nothing ticked all the boxes. Traded in a Z1000SX yesterday for a 2016 light blue GT and am over the moon. What an amazing bike, great allrounder. Like you say, not a particularly light bike, but once your used to it, it’s fine. You said the seat could be lowered? Was you referring to a customisation?

      Hi Jaf
      Sorry for late reply, went and found it physically challenging for me especially in traffic, I absolutely fell for it but not a good idea to have it as my first big bike. Settling down with Honda cross runner for time being...

      Syed Hussaini that's cool man, you made the sensible decision. It is a heavy monster! Enjoy that for a couple of years, build up some experience on slow manoeuvring then maybe try again, thanks for getting back 👍

    Just got a Triumph Sprint gt myself, great bike, lovely to ride. Arrived back after a week of touring France and Germany no problem. Tell me though, the clutch. Mine is really really stiff to use, especially in traffic conditions. Is this normal with Triumphs?

    • @LordJaseRides
      @LordJaseRides  7 років тому

      Rusty Russ congrats Russ, yea cracking bike.. Can't really fault it I was just being really picky... Um I wouldn't say it was stiff, is it new? I've found it isn't as easy to pull as other bikes I've ridden but not stiff... Hope this helps 👍

      Mine isn't light but it certainly isn't really heavy, Im guessing the cable needs lubing? Its never going to be the lightest but I tend o forget about it so it cant be that bad

    Hey Jafnhaar, thanks for the review. I like how you got into the more day-to-day details of what it's like to live with the bike. Sounds like you two are getting on rather well! I almost bought one of these back in 2014, but I was too attached to my GSX1250FA, so I didn't pull the trigger! Ironically, almost 4 years later I am the proud owner of a 2017 Trophy SE. The knees don't quite bend the way they used to, so the Trophy is a real treat. I love that triple, man. I like it so much that I am just going to leave it alone. The bike in general is just spectacular. How 'bout you? Have you added any goodies to the bike since you have had it? Anyway, thanks again. Ride on...

    • @LordJaseRides
      @LordJaseRides  6 років тому +1

      Dennis M thank you very much Dennis ☺ yes like to keep it down to earth, but I'm not being paid to say anything it was my honest review 😁 ah man, it is beautiful.. But so is the trophy.. Maybe the next one for me in a few years who knows!! Stick with what your happy with! I'm not keen on all this adventure biking malarkey I prefer the good ole triples ☺ um bar exhaust and the screen I haven't changed anything and don't think I will 🤔 I appreciate your comment mate, thanks for stopping buy and you ride safe 👍

    Hi.
    I've not yet got my licence but will be doing my direct access.
    I'm not looking for a super bike or anything. I'm not interested. I want a well rounded bike that can pretty much do everything.
    I love how this bike looks and sounds. So I pretty much decided I'd get this for my first bike.
    Is that a good idea or not

    Hey up, trying to decide on next bike. Any idea what the difference is between the 2005ish underseat exhaust models and the newer ones like yours?

    • @LordJaseRides
      @LordJaseRides  5 років тому

      Not too sure, except the exhausts have moved.. It would only be slight improvements here and there I would of thought. :)

  • @DaveOasist
    @DaveOasist 5 років тому +1

    Looking at getting the very same in blue, only 1.5k miles, with the same exhaust. With camera and sat nav. Is there a charging point in the boot? I’m looking at touring with it and I haven’t heard a bad review yet.
    Cheers 😎

    That top box is like a bag of cement...so heavy for no reason as is the whole bike. The chain adjustment is a bitch to adjust too, they cease up. The speedo has tiny numbers, but on the whole I quite liked mine though. Nothing special but ok. Not a patch on a blackbird or a vfr1200 but good value with great tank range. A lot of bike for the money.

    Jafnhaar.... where are u mate ?? No postings since... is it early 2018 ? I was planning to get one of these and I watched your videos back to front, upside down, inside out .... you get the gist 😁 Now I've got one there's nobody to fly the flag for us GT boys and girls (I would hope) ! It is an amazing bike. Watching this again there are things I missed which now ring so true, a heavy girl her weight up top as you say. I took somebody's bike off the stand and said confidently it was lighter than my GT but found it was same weight but "lower down". Hope whatever you are doing life is good with you, and if you have the inclination, do give us a huoy on your channel ?!!
