Thank you for this. I enjoyed watching it. I live in the U.S. and I have been thinking about getting a Ft Dx 10. Looks like a great radio with a tremendous sound and receiver.
What a coincidence! I made your QRM detector a few weeks back, turned on this video to watch and I just happened to be the 1st qso with NX4TT as your stream started! Strange when you hear yourself unexpectedly....😀
Just noticed this video on a antenna that has really caught my eye over the last few months..I did plan on making something similar but for the cost it probably isn’t worth it as it looks a great piece of kit.
Wow this past weekend was awesome. I’ve never seen a sfi at 343 and 12/15m open. A local buddy was even work 10m Fm across the pond. Another bud got Antarctica on 10m. I worked Luxembourg on 12m 100w just lovely ☺️ can’t wait for the solar cycle to keep enhancing the bands maybe up muf hitting 6m 50 MHz 😊
Hi Ian. Great turnout and efforts. I would really like a DX commander expedition. Not sure I would get out very well due to my location. I have a big hill and two towers of flats not that far from me. My gargen is about 8x8. Currently hot a 40m efhw up in a tight-ish inverted vee. Hope to catch you on the waves. Motters M7TRS 73
Hi Ian, I hope you are well. Would you mind telling me where the site was you stayed at. It looks great and am looking for a camp spot exactly like this. Regards, de David in Durham, M0XLS
@@ianxfs Yes, the number is a bit back to front with 0 being max and 100 being off. I'll back mine off to 75 too, seems like a good compromise. Thanks.
Nice radio/video. „Portable“ seems to be the magic word in pileups 😂

Yes it was good Kevin! I had very patchy Internet from my phone so I struggled for cluster info etc. good fun though 😀
Like the use of the 'run of the mill' wire there Ian. Some fantastic contacts. All the best
Ha ha yes Gary. I’ve got many a Live/Neutral HF antenna at home 😁
Nice video and awesome video quality. Looking good! 👍

Thanks! Yes, the take-off may not be brilliant. Perhaps lash up a single-band temp wire just to test before you commit perhaps? Good luck 👍🏻
@@ianxfs thanks the simple approach to test. The neighbours love the look of my antenna lol.

Thank you for sharing this video! What is the logging software you are using?
Hi, it’s Log4OM2.
Very nice video. I love to do it portable. Can you please advise what software you are using on computer??
Hi Stevan. It’s Log4OM2. Free, but you can make a donation 👍🏻

Hi David it was a CAMC CL site at Wiggington called Stud Farm. If you’re a member, there are lots of suitable CLs assuming no-one minds the aerial 👍🏻
@@ianxfs Thanks very much Ian, much appreciated.
Take care
David
nice 1 Ian
Thanks!
Great video Ian. What software are you using on your laptop to log your contacts? 73, KC2KNA.
Hi Bill, it’s Log4OM2.
@@ianxfs Thanks Ian…Logbook for old man, I like it…. It sure has the capability to show a lot of information besides being a logbook.
Great condition on 10m! What do you have your AMC set to in the main menu? The stock setting of 50 is a bit too aggressive perhaps?
Hi Martin, Just had a look and I’ve got AMC at 75…MIC GAIN 50, MIC EQ ON (with setting EQ settings I’ve used on all my Yaesu’s) and no PROC 😀
