I took delivery of one of these about 5 hours ago. This video series has been really useful to get a visual reference of the build. Thank you very much for producing it.
I've built the ground plane - I now understand why DX Commander doesn't ship them ready built at that price. I was getting bored after the third bundle. hehe.

Nathan W Good one Nathan 👍🏻 Enjoy the build and using it. There’s some more videos on the channel working round the world /P with the DX-E 🌍

@@ianxfs I watched them all as I measured out 20*3.5m lengths of DX10, then stripped, crimped, and soldered.
They were very interesting and useful, Ian.
Shame about this lockdown limiting /P

Great video. Thanks for putting the time in. I've been looking at this set-up for portable use so it's really good to see you go through the whole procedure.

Ronan Cantwell Ok Ronan and glad it helps. Just trying to put a bit back into the hobby as I found UA-cam videos useful when I returned to the hobby last December. Enjoy your portable work! Ian.

I have downloaded copies of everyone building but myself. I started my build, but twice I put the jubilee clips on top of the spreader not the bottom. Not that it’s a big deal, but I want it per instructions. Hopefully I will finish my build on Saturday and get on the air! Thanks and -73- W1KPS

Kevin Shields Ok good luck Kevin! There are a few walk-along and long-shots in the video. Just pause it and make your own notes/sketch...

Thanks for sharing. I have a few questions. Is the 6 cm fold over for your loop length added on to the total length for the element? In other words the directions call for an element length of 3.83m for 17 meters are you doing the 3.83m and adding an additional 6cm to that length to account for the foldback length or is the 6cm foldback just part of the 3.83m for the element? Same question on the 20m element. Also what was your total length of the element for 40 meters? Thank you for your time.

dheller777 Yes, add the two lengths together to get total cut length. So 17m Band is 3.83m+6cm=3.89m. It’s the same for all elements - add the two to get the total length to cut, then just fold-back and go from there. You might find they are slightly long and need a little more fold-back. The higher frequencies respond more to folding, so less required. My 40m was cut as per instructions i.e. 11.15m. Enjoy your build 👍🏻

Hi Tony. It’s all in the instructions which you can download from M0MCX website, but there are 20 x 3.5m.
