Amazing video and a great storage solution! Very brave of you to print the labels off beforehand haha. I always change my mind so I have to print labels off after I've put everything away. Thank you
I would recommend regular drawers for food instead of these pull out. Smaller things will fly around for you if you pull them out like that. I use regular drawers everyday in my kitchen and they serve me well.
Yay! I’m not the only “lunatic” using IKEA shoe storage trundles for linens! 😁 We moved from a 3/2 townhouse to a 2/2 apartment and, needless to say, I had to get creative. I got the plastic ones, which are thinner, so I could put them behind doors and inside bathrooms for linen storage, with minimal “footprint.” I even have one next to my vanity. It’s brilliant storage!
I'm so impressed that you put those cabinets together without much effort. Everything I've heard about Ikea, they are hard to put together. Great finished set of cabinets.
Absolutely love the storage idea. The espresso wood top was brilliant because it made the entire storage unit look like one piece of furniture and not just two storage units. Very smart and creative.
That was an amazing idea, I always thought I wouldn’t be able to fit enough in those but I’m glad to see that these cabinets hold a a good amount of stuff and I loved your idea.... good job mommy !!
All I can say is - will you come spend a week at my house?! - I'd never have thought of these (relatively) simple ideas that make such a huge difference! Love the decor too - simple but elegant! Looking forward to more from your channel. God Bless you for sharing!
I love the way that you've thought outside the box for this storage. Thank you for sharing your project with us. I'm in the process of decluttering after having a serious health scare recently. I don't want my son to have to worry about anything because he lives on the opposite side of Australia to where I live. I also love the white on the front and the stained wood on the top. I did the same thing to all of my dark oak furniture by painting it all white and leaving the tops the natural colour. I think that dark furniture is nice and cosy in a colder climate, but since moving to the subtropics, it was. too oppressive. Friends were horrified that I was going to paint it, but when I'd finished it, they all loved it and agreed that I'd done the right thing. We only get about 4 to 6 weeks of 'winter' which is when the temperature drops to about 17 Celsius or approximately 64F. We actually complain about the cold! However we get up tp around 110 Fahrenheit although we would only have aa week or so of these extreme temperatures in January and February.
Put folded sheets btwn mattress and boxspring of each bed theyre for. You only need 3 sheet sets TOPS per bed. 1 on it, 2 stored. Same for towels for each person. Put their extra towel btwn too. Wash towels just weekly as youre clean when you get out of shower, right? Put beds on risers also and store TONS of stuff under beds too! We use concrete blocks actually as I want alllll the space I can get. Getting into bed is feat here lol My kids literally have a playspace under their bed, its so high up. They can sit up under it, or they could-they are now having to slouch as theyve grown so much that theyre now 5-6 and 5-9. I can barely get on the bed but theyve never had a problem.
@@YeshuaKingMessiah That's great that that works for you, we are reducing clutter around our home so nothing under beds and extra sheets under the mattress sound lumpy lol
Corina Jane linen closet storage is not clutter and folded sheets, spread out under the mattress, top sheet folded up here, folded bottom sheet there, pillowcases there, is not lumpy at all.
Why would anyone give this a thumbs down? This is so creative & purposeful, a beautiful use of space and a great hack. The stained wood on top was a brilliant idea! You'll also be able to change the uses as the kids grow. It looks like you have a beautiful family!! God bless and use it well!! Thank you for sharing this.
I’m not sure which I’m more impressed with, your clever idea for your items or the fact that you have people in your family that will take the time to pay attention to your labels. My kids and husband always seemed to think labels were a suggestion. 🙄
I've seen these shelves before and would like to put them in my daughters room where at the moment I have one of those modular square bookcases on its side. It takes up too much room and I don't like the canvas boxes. I like the idea of the wood top. Classes it up. Thanks!
I love this idea! Remodeling sacrificed our linen closet of our 1958 house to central heating furnace. Thank you for posting this. Looking forward to your future hacks. You are amazingly solution creative.
I’ve seen some similar ideas that I thought I would be doing but the wood on the top really elevates the look. ❤️ it. Definitely using this. Thank you!!
Our boys' shoes and boots were always too big to fit into one of those, so I never thought of using it in the entranceway; what do you find fits well in it there?
OceanSkye2 I use mine as a catch all for mail sorting, miscellaneous kids homework items, notebooks, paper, extra envelopes and stamps, tape, pens, stapler, markers and basically anything I wanna throw in there on the fly. 😊
What a great idea! This would work so well for campers, as you need all the storage you can get ! And doesn't take up so much room. Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea. SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!
This is genius! It came out great and I really loved how you showed everything so clearly. Fantastic idea and tutorial. And that shirt. Hahaha!! That is what will get me through this month at work: Jesus and coffee! Amen! 😂
Looks lovely! We have been sitting on this idea for the top of our stairs for over a year 🤦🏽♀️ BUT I never thought of lining the hallway with them! How wide is your hallway???
My first thought with these shoe cabinets was that they would be great for other things such as what you have done. Very clever idea.. I love the top you put on them.
Wow, wow, wow! What a genius idea! I’m moving to a new place and was racking my brain trying to figure out what to do with the hallway and this is a fantastic solution! I am totally impressed! Definitely doing this. Thank you, smart lady!!
Love this idea. Neat and clean. Sooo happy to see this. Will definitely purchase it and put together myself. Glad to discover your YT channel. Iam a new fan.
this is brilliant. I am in a new apartment which has almost no storage space and I've been putting my sheets in a storage bin under my bed and in milk crates standing on their sides in the laundry closet. It takes up some of the laundry closet shelf space but it works for most of the towels and on the top which is a bit of a hassle to reach I put the out of season flannel sheets. Ikea builds are always fun, eh? Love that you shared this. Hope your family enjoys the work you did!! You rock!
Such a great idea to use the Hemnes shoe cabinet for something other than shoes and adding the wood top is gorgeous. Going to suggest this to my son who just moved into his first home and loves IKEA. Thank you
While I didnt use these from Ikea it inspired me to look for shoe storage to solve my no linen closet issue. I found some wonderful pieces on Wayfair that are easy to assemble. Wonderful idea, thanks!
I’m so inspired by this hack! I love how you cut the wood top down to the exact size. That would work well for the space I’m thinking of putting one of these.
Wow, can’t believe I found this! I’ve wanted to buy this piece for a while now, as my hallway is so narrow. The “shoe storage” angle made me think it wouldn’t work for regular storage. Thank you for showing that towels and tp do fit! I’m taking the plunge and getting 2. Might do the stain, too. I’m lazy, though 😂 Beautiful job!
I’ve seen these used for storage other than shoes but didn’t think I could use it because I rent my condo. Watching you attach them to your walls I realized I could use Command strips to attach to the wall! 🤔 There are no little ones to worry about tip over safety. Still, I’ll be using A LOT of the heavy duty strips😉 I’m going to try this for a mail/gloves/scarves/hat storage off my entry. Thanks!
This is absolutely perfect! My niece just moved into an old home that has no closets and she has three little girls under four and she needs containment! Storage! Closet! Way to go… Can’t wait for her to see this
Ooo, I LOVE this! I have seen similar makeovers for these shoe cabinets, but I really haven't considered the alternative ways of using this! I LOVE your creativity!
I looooove this! I need a linen closet for my girls and was wondering if anyone made a video with this cabinet storing other things, rather than shoes! So excited!
That turned out so well! I had heard about people using these cabinets in different ways and considered it for my little bungalow bedroom. We don’t have any linen storage either. Your video is the most clear and helpful I’ve seen - thank you for showing how the structure attaches to the wall and what you were able to fit in those little bins. I’m not sure it will work for me, my problems are bigger items, but anyway, that’s really good to know. It looks great in your space. And what cute kids you have!
I never seen your videos before, but I’m so happy that I saw it today. You rock. I want you as my friend, I have NONE of the abilities that you showed. Fantastic job
Just found you today, great use of the shoe cabinet! As I watch home improvement shows, I am always amazed when they take out storage & closets to make rooms flow, to be larger, to be open, etc. Which is all good, but families need space to keep the vacuum, linens, jackets, etc! Well I will stop my rant, & say love the adorable pic of your kiddos.💛 Stay well!
Haha! Thank you! It amazes me how many houses just don’t come with linen storage to start with. Like mine. If I ever move that’s gonna be #1 on my wishlist

That stained top takes the cabinet to a whole new level! Beautiful!
I used this same hack in my kitchen because I have no pantry! Perfect for boxes of pasta, kids snacks, baby food, and condiments!
Oh wow! I would’ve never thought to use it like that. Such a good idea
Great idea! I would love to see how that turned out.
I have to do that!

So Smart! By the way I was watching with my teen girls....they said "who is that, she is so pretty"
I actually own the taller one and never thought about getting the shorter ones. Girl about to put these in my living room for toy storage. Subscribed!
Sounds good to me! I’m always trying to find new ways to hide toys

Imagine having a mom like this 🥰
You’re too sweet 💜 thank you
I love that you put the labels on the inside so you don’t see them when the drawer is closed!
Yesss! You get it! 😂Thank you💜
Me too !
I feared she would put them outside but didn't want to believe it. And she didn't do it. It is smart like this.
Ya but then you are already opening the drawer so it doesn’t really seem to save time, you can look in the drawer anyway. But really cool idea
Katie Erin lmao true but I guess with young kids it could be used as a teaching //reading tool as well :)
What an amazing idea! Practical and looks so nice. Doesn’t crowd your hall. I love how you stained the long top that spans both units. Thank you!
This was so cute and clever of you. You have a nice sense for organization as well as decorating and it feels like a nice home.
Thank you! 💜💜I’m pretty big on everything having its own place and looking pretty lol.
Wow, using that stained board really makes this such a standout hack. I love how you decorated the top of it as well. Very inspiring!
I'm so impressed that you put those cabinets together without much effort. Everything I've heard about Ikea, they are hard to put together. Great finished set of cabinets.

What a great idea. I can’t wait to share with my daughter. I love the way you completed it with decor too. Totally looks new!

This video showed up in my recommendations and wow what a great way to use these shoe holders. Great job!
Thank you!! 💜
I love this! I would have never thought to use a shoe cabinet for this but its perfect. its maximizes space and looks great to boot!!
Thank you! I have very little storage space so I have to get a little creative ☺️
I LOVE this! Once the kids move from pull-ups and wipes you can put dental products and maybe hair products or something. Very nice.
Gotta love a girl and her power tools!!! So nice!!
That was an amazing idea, I always thought I wouldn’t be able to fit enough in those but I’m glad to see that these cabinets hold a a good amount of stuff and I loved your idea.... good job mommy !!
