Monster Hunter: Stories is another series in the franchise you may want to look into that breaks the mold from the typical MH experience. It's a monster taming rpg that's focus is more on fighting with monsters than hunting them. It has turn based combat and rideable monsters with their own traversal mechanics.
I'm also someone who doesn't know a lot about Monster Hunter, so I definitely appreciated having someone with MH knowledge as a co-host in this video. Also liked the discussion of theories like the potential of an egg raising phase and evolution chart in general.
As a vote for optimism I got into digimon v-pets because of this collab. I didn’t even know that digimon HAD v-pets until I saw this. Through it I found your channel and hearing how fast these are going I think will cause other people to go the same route I did. I bought the Virus Busters Pendulum Color the other day and I can’t wait. I may also pickup the Wind Guardians too. If Bandai keeps up the higher res color devices I can see digimon v-pets becoming closer in success to tamagotchi.
The sprites are so nice... I really wish they had used the more detailed/higher resolution sprites for the regular Digimon for the rest of the Colors as well...
I don't know anything about Monster Hunter, but this looks like a fun crossover V-pet, and I really like the new Digimon designs, especially Reus Greymon!
Yeah this was the most craziest thing I ever saw Digimon related. 3 Waves of pre orders. Not a Monster Hunter fan, but getting this in hopes that Bandai might make more Digimon vpets in the future. Like the long awaited English DMX3. 😂😓
I'd like to see a DMX Color. The DMX line seems to be most in-line with what I want from a vpet with a little more of a "game" element, but it's hard to go back to the black and white blocky sprites.
khezu is cute because it has big lips like tarakotchi also, the classifications are based on evolution as these evolved from dragons. nargacuga is a flying wyvern because it's wings became more arm-like this is also why tigrex is also a flying wyvern.
And also why the super secret mountain sized final bosses of the psp portable games are classified as Flying Wyverns, despite not having any visible wings
Never thought of this collab but I'm so hyped! I love both MH and Digimon and I love the idea of having a MH monster to raise to bring along with me. Not sure if there'll be an Omnimon variant, but it'd be cool to see an OmniHuntermon or something like that.
What a time to start digimon. Bought two digimon 25 years ago. And recently got digimon pendulum color. Saw these two crossover and as someone had put thousands of hours on monster hunter series, I went to immediately pre order both skins. 😄 And literally understand a fan describing them that show so much love and hardcore 😂 The chinese name of these monsters are also super cool and memorable for fans. I hope we get to see also elder dragons. Man there’s too many to mention, Fetalis, Kirin, Kushala Daora, Teostra, Vaal Hazak, Alatreon, Nergigante, Valstrax, etc!
23:07 As a slight correction, Tigrex is actually a Flying Wyvern, the same as Nargacuga, being a more grounded variety. Brute Wyverns, which none are in this current list shown, tend to have a classic Theropod/T Rex look, lacking wings at all. However Tigrex has an alternative subspecies called a Brute Tigrex, which is where I imagine the mistake comes from. Zinogre is a Fanged Wyvern, lacking wings as well but having a four legged stance which varies between wolf-like or more like a lizard across monsters in that classification. Lastly Rajang is a Fanged Beast, which are just more your straight up mammalian based monsters, ranging from apes to bears usually. Lastly Gore Magala is sorta in a unique spot as a ???, as it has traits like regular monsters that they can still be captured, but has traits you only see in Elder Dragons. There are a few more types as well, but they are not present.
Freaking out with everyone in the discord and waiting all night for preorders to open was stressful but so fun… thanks for creating such a great place for this community!!
About Zinogre's popularity; Rathalos may be the official mascot, but he placed at a measly 21st on the recent popularity poll. Zinogre meanwhile is WAY above him at FIRST PLACE. So yeah, the Zinogre Blue models might be a little more hard to get later down the line
oh, for sure. many monsters are much more loved in MH series, but it is kinda same thing with pokemon, where pikachu EVERYONE knows about as the mascot, but most of the fanbase rather love some other pokemon (since i come from MH, not digimon on this topic, so easier example)
I am a Nargacuga fan as MHFU was my first MH game but in the case of Rath vs Zino I'm def buying the Zinogre one. Rath is a classic and always should be in every MH game but Zinogre is just a cooler monster in general.
I was about to skip this one before you said they're both the same, because this time I genuinely wasn't sure. Haven't played an actual MH game yet but I love the monster designs so this is fun!
In the stories series, you get to raise monsters like digimon or pokemon, a bit. They come from eggs that have designs based on the species (flying wyvern, brute wyvern, so on...) so its possible we'll actually get to choose our monster type from egg types at the start, or unlock eggs by raising up monsties.
I learned a lot about this crossover event. A few notes, MH3U is when Zinogre and Stygian Zinogre made their debut to the west, and Tigrex is classified as a Flying Wyvern. It however does have a subspecies known as the Brute Tigrex, which may cause that confusion.
I hope they do more with this crossover, cuz Digimon x Monster Hunter game would be a pretty perfect fit. At the very least I want the RathiosGreymon and ZinoGarurumon in Monster Hunter Wilds.
If they will make a new Digimon game, would like to see RathaGreymon and ZinoGarurumon as bonus Digivolution routes if you have the save data for Monster Hunter Wilds in your PS5/Nintendo Switch (2)/Xbox/PC.
btw collabs with the mh series has almost never been 1 way, so we might see the rathagreymon and as a figthable monster or get a armour/wepon bases on digimon in the future
I do wonder, now that color series has its own original device instead of remakes of older ones, what would be other original devices they could make, maybe a liberator v-pet?
This is a good point I had not thought about at all. With how surprising the fact that it's a cross-over device is, I did not register the fact that it's the first non-VB color device that's not a remake at all. A Liberator one would definitely be cool with all the new evolution lines.
I share some of the same worries you aired at the end. I wouldn't put it past Bandai to completely ice out Digimon in favor of "Digimon" collabs. My hope is that collaborations like this will bring more attention to the core Digimon v-pets, and generally bring more people into the v-pet hobby. This is where the retail devices would be extremely valuable as easy gateways, but I'm not sure how much people will want to "regress" from a Color device to a DM20 or DMX.
Rathalos Greymon, Zinogre Garurumon, Mitsuzune Kyubimon, Rajang Leomon, Kehzu Ikkakumon, Nargacuga Devimon, Gore Magalla Kabuterimon, Tigrex Growlmon. Those are my prediction of cross-evo for the 6 other shown monster. Could be cool if Gore Magalla is a cross-evo with Black Greymon too
With how absurdly well this release is doing at just the pre-order phase, I really hope that the Digimon v-pet will be considered for future crossover releases over the tamagotchi mini, especially for more action/combat related ip's. My immediate hope is for some kind of Kamen Rider release, but I'd be happy with just about anything
MH never really appealed to me, being someone who prefers to raise monsters rather than hunt them. The designs are also hit and miss with me. I'm not sure I'll be going for this one, but it is definitely intriguing!
man I have to say it been a pretty exciting year for the vpet part of the digimon fandom. We got the pen c last year, wave 2 this year and now a collab with capcom biggest IP.
I would love a Monster Hunter Stories game with Digimon ❤ Kid goes to digital world, steal Digi-Eggs, hatch and raise Digimon, Digi-volve them based on data-traits through Rite Channeling. Or maybe you select a starting Digimon that steals/protects Eggs and take part in the fights as that Digimon as you venture around the Digital World with no humans involved [that you'd know of].
You wouldn't be wrong to call all the big monsters in the Monster Hunter franchise as dragons. Wyvern is a type of dragon. In the Monster Hunter unvierse there is a distinction between the species wyvern and elder dragon, and while most conform to some dragon-esque form, some look very far removed from what would be a typical dragon. This is pretty wild given a new Monster Hunter title is on it's way too. 16:28 Monster Hunter 2 is Monster Hunter Dos, unless you are talking about Monster Hunter Freedom 2. While the franchise has many titles under this banner, most of the games are recreations of the previous one, to be more accurate either remakes with expanded material, or ports to some other device. To be colossally confusing: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is called Monster Hunter Double Cross in Japan (written as Monster Hunter XX), and this game is a grown combination of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (which is an enhanced localized version of the Japanese only Monster Hunter 4), and Monster Hunter Generations (Monster Hunter X). All of those games belong to 4th generation. It's a headache to follow, but you can't go wrong with just nabbing the last version of a generation since you are essentially getting the most complete form, with the except of Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise featuring quite varied playstyles, yet both belonging to the 5th generation. 😂I swear I'm not a Monster Hunter fanatic. I just play the games.
Dude they need to stop. Dropped a pretty penny copping the yamato DV, plus every color pendulum. Maybe we will get lucky and see some data link colors. I hope we continue to get remasters of all the classic seasons. Each season so distinct yet great direction
I haven't seen any mention to monster hunter stories, Both 1 and 2. It's a monster tamer game...... like digimon and pokemon, with a lot of interesting ideas. It's an rpg adventure, you'd love it. I think it's a shame no one has mentioned it so far. And this for me ties in very well with that hidden gem
Been waiting for this video as a hardcore MH fan and fellow Digimon vpet caretaker! So excited to see such a unique take on MH and an awesome collab for Digimon. The pain of choosing which one is killing me
Vpets were my childhood in primary school and monhun was my childhood in secondary school. I was sold the moment I saw the ad. Also lmao at the reaction to Khezu.
16:06 No, he came out in Tri all the way back in 2009. His subspecies was even in 3U. 4U came out in 2014 for us(we never got 4). 😭 Gens came out & 2016. The upgraded rereleased on switch came out in 2018 for the west. Pry the best anniversary title of any series.
Wyverns in this game is defined by wing-like things on their forelimbs, be it feathers, fins, fur or straight up wings Zenogre is in fact a wyvern probably because of the fur on its front legs which resemble wyvern wings. Rajang is classified as a beast.
Wyverns are dragons.. they just have 4 limbs Also in the context of MH, even an octopus or unicorn can be classified as an elder dragon as long as they have a specific blood type aka elder dragon blood lol
Really interesting, tempted to buy it now. But with how popular it is I have no doubt they are going to do reruns so I will wait and hope for a device with a Gore Magala themed shell.
The way I immediately knew I would wait for your upload before preordering. My preorder is in, now! I'm curious as to where you got the chart from? Also is it confirmed to be all MH creatures? I thought it would be a mix of digis and MH
Why are color digimon so dang expensive?? This same company makes tamagotchi and it’s all the same basic tech yet the Tama’s are way cheaper and give far more content. I always heard girl branded things cost way more, they call it “Pink Tax” but for Digimon/Tamagotchi it’s definitely reversed. I love digimon, but I just don’t understand the much higher price, and the much smaller amount of content to do on it
Your expert guest does not know monster hunter. The bubble dragon is based off the kitsune, it is true the males are more colorful than the females. But we have no clue what the females actually look like. It too is a monster hunter 3rd monster
Am I gonna need another type of v-pet to get the jogresses? Cause it says 36 monster total, and if they're all monster hunter monsters where would I get garurumon and greymon. Sorry am new to digimon in general.
At the moment they have not said anything concerning the unlock conditions of the new Digimon, but they do count as part of the 36 monsters specified. I personally doubt they would require a device-to-device jogress.
I just got mine, as soon as i read the news and started seeing how fast they were getting sold, I was getting nervous that Zening wouldnt get them, but I asked them, and they were super quick to respond that they would... hell they even texted me back on IG when they released the preorder to lemme know... These guys are just too awesome man...
Well I'm an initial and long time fan/enthusiast of digimon vpets and a half life monster hunter fan..so I'm left with only one word..pre-ordered, both. Ohh that's two words 😝
We got Zinogre in 3 Ultimate... so even earlier than 4. We didn't even get 4. We got 4 Ultimate... so it was a long time ago that he showed up. Portable 3rd (which is a seperate game from 3 entirely. It was a "3rd Gen" game, but not a re-release of 3. 3 Ultimate was Tri with with extra content - including Zinogre from Portable 3rd) came out in 2010, with 3 Ultimate hitting the states not too long afterwards. 4 Ultimate however came out here in 2015. We got Zinogre 15 years ago basically. Zinogre outclasses Rathalos in popularity by a vast margin. Rathalos isn't even really all that popular at all. I know very few people who classify it as their favorite monster. Rathalos always ends up feeling like more of an obligation than a really fun fight. Heck, Rathalos might be one of the most annoying monsters to fight in general since is stays in the sky so much... making melee weapons sigh with irritation as they can't hit it lol. Nargacuga is a panther pseudo-wyvern (they are called this because they have mostly non-functional wings that only allow them to fly extremely short distances). Not really a bat. It's designed more around being cat-like. Tigrex being a tiger (with a t-rex head), Barioth being a saber-tooth tiger, and Nargacuga being a panther. Wyverns are classified based on if they have reptilian vestiges or traits. Zinogre for instance is a "Fanged Wyvern" just like Nargacuga is a "pseudo-wyvern" as they both have elements of reptilian (or draconian) heritage. Zinogre has a vestigal claws on his feet that resemble what might have been wing bones, and they both have scales/plating on their bodies. Rajang is a "Fanged Beast" for instance. Brute Wyverns have tiny t-rex arms, and big chicken legs. Brute Wyverns didn't show up until 3rd gen games like Tri, Portable 3rd, and 3 Ultimate with Barroth being the first one we ever got (and the pickle of course for my MonHun buddies out there) Gore Magala is an actual dragon in this game. As you can tell (your guest mentioned this) it has wings, and four legs. It is classified as an "Elder Dragon" which are essentially the biggest and toughest monsters in the series as they tend to be capable of controlling elements in far deadlier ways, and show higher levels of intelligence than the other monsters. I have also never heard Zinogre called "Sick Flips Doggo" lol. I run in speedrunning circles, some Japanese communities, and several fan communities... never heard it referred to as that ever lol! Monsters don't really have nicknames outside of shortenings of their names. Zin or something for instance.
know of MH, but never gotten into it. that sead ... i have ordered 1 ^^ as they can fight our mons, and it's gonna be something a lil different ..and the wife don't know :D
This was verified at the beginning of the year since there were no new announcements. Toy manufacturers don't normally say out loud when a specific series is ending, it just ends. This was further confirmed with the shut-down of the app's online services.
I think japanise cross over is common thing for japanise company good that digimon can have opportunity to colab with monster hunter. And about production aspect of it can bandai make factory toy outside japan to supply the pre-order like in "Cina, Philippine or even Malaysia". Hopefully this is not the only colaboration monster hunter and digimon doing. I kind hype if some armor in monster hunter wild have digimon referance on it lol.
My guess that they sold out so fast is they have low expectations and allocated a very low stock as this is just a collaboration release and not a brand new Digimon product. I'm kinda on the fence for this, on one hand this is an interesting idea but I don't know how I feel playing a Digimon V-pet raising different IP characters (I never bought the Ultraman, Kamen Rider VB DIMs for example).
i'm wondering that so many monster hunter fans are geting these that in time thay will realise thay dont like vpets and the market will be flooded with them or do i need to get it now.
Boy, with the amount of copies the Monster Hunter Stories games have sold, I'd reckon you'll be waiting a long time for them to backwash into the market, we may love hunting these monsters but everyone always wanted to raise and train them just as much
@@Hooy-H00y nice to meet you monster hunter fan i hope you enjoy your vpet . this conversation is all becouse of a crossover event you would have thort that our two fandoms would have met befor being so similar we are all about the monsters. the killing is what keeped me away but ill have to go check out the story games.
Also, my ideas for future Digimon crossovers: Zoids Jujutsu Kaisen My Hero Academia Shin Megami Tensei/Persona Resident Evil Mega Man HoYoverse/miHoYo (Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero) Arknights Gundam Transformers Neon Genesis Evangelion (they already made a crossover with Tamagotchi) Castlevania Super Sentai (JP)/Power Rangers (overseas) Ultraman Kaiju No. 8 Jurassic World
Put in a preorder qt big bad toy store.. usually they get the time they say so its first wave. But thinking going zenin for a second copy. Now i need a DMC i live my dmx still working on the library
"Mainline and portable game" The mainline serie died with Tri (the wii version since the WiiU/3ds version is a portable remake). Even World and Wild are technically part of the portable line.
Very incorrect! Mainline and Portable are TEAMS! PORTABLE started with Freedom 2. Mainline team IS WORLD AND WILDS and they even work on Portable but for their games so Freedom and 3U.
@@JoshuaPAMployee You talk about the A and B team and not the difference between the portable line ( the portable line started with Freedom 1 which was made by the "mainline" team) and the mainline (1, DOS, Frontier and TRI). Those two line have a different design philosophy. Mainline are console MMOs that happens to have a single player tutorial and portable game are single player game that happens to have a co-op feature Before 3U all "mainline" game were absolutely not solo friendly, for example all monster (even village quest one) were HP sponges (2-3 times more HP than portable game), the single player part was only a very limited tutorial and online quest were clearly not made for solo play (some quest like the Lao Shan and Jhen Moran ones were almost impossible to beat solo). Those game were also way more grindy (limited zenny gain, the online progression was exp/hr based instead of key quest based this mean that you need a stupid amount of quest grinding to reach high rank,etc..). Freedom 1 isn't just a port of Monster Hunter G it's an huge rebalancing of the game to made it more solo/handheld friendly with way shorter quest, more single player content, less grind, more quest,etc... Those feature were initially reserved for handled game but the success of Freedom Unity (portable 2G) and Portable 3rd pushed Capcom to abandon the mainline/console line with 3U even when Monster Hunter goes back to home console (World still use the portable serie difficulty curve and features)
@@tsu7206 that's your personal philosophy and opinion and not official. MH Fans use a set of terms used BY CAPCOM which is the games are sorted by dev teams. Don't spread incorrect information that's your opinion and say it's fact👍
"in the Digimon world we never bank on it releasing outside Japan" /cries in Digimon x ver3/
As somebody who just bought an XB and an XD version, I'm crying about the one with Monzaemon X, which I guess you're also heartbroken about 🥹😭

I'd like to see a DMX Color. The DMX line seems to be most in-line with what I want from a vpet with a little more of a "game" element, but it's hard to go back to the black and white blocky sprites.

Gens came out & 2016.
Hopefully Monster Hunter becomes to Digimon what Sanrio is to Tamagotchi.
Wyverns are dragons.. they just have 4 limbs
Also in the context of MH, even an octopus or unicorn can be classified as an elder dragon as long as they have a specific blood type aka elder dragon blood lol
Thanks for the info. Pre-ordered both.
I love digimon, but I just don’t understand the much higher price, and the much smaller amount of content to do on it
I have already pre ordered one , this is my first v pets ~ the pixel art looks great, I got the Rathalos one.
I can easily see and egg raising phase considering that was somewhat a feature of the Monster Hunter Stories spin-off games.
Your expert guest does not know monster hunter. The bubble dragon is based off the kitsune, it is true the males are more colorful than the females. But we have no clue what the females actually look like. It too is a monster hunter 3rd monster
I was with you until you said MH Portable 3rd.
Mizustune is from Gens on the 3DS.
C'mon, now, you were so close.
Any fair guess on if Rathalos and Zinogre and their crossover mons will be exclusive to their own device, or if both devices will have both?
There is no difference in content between devices
I put my order in with Zenin so I hope to see mine in may or sooner
I don’t own any color vpets in my collection but I will have to make an exception to get both of these to add since it’s new sprites💯
goooty que los fans nunca dejen que la ip desaparezca :3
Bandai hates digimon sadly
I would love a diablos sprite
Am I gonna need another type of v-pet to get the jogresses? Cause it says 36 monster total, and if they're all monster hunter monsters where would I get garurumon and greymon. Sorry am new to digimon in general.
At the moment they have not said anything concerning the unlock conditions of the new Digimon, but they do count as part of the 36 monsters specified. I personally doubt they would require a device-to-device jogress.
@@humulomon Ah ok thank you. That gives me some peace of mind
About Mitsuzune…he is literally water fox as his name derives from mizu=water and kitsune= fox
Also wyvern is pronounced as waivern not weevern.
ZeninTCG ftw
Fr
Brute Wyverns didn't show up until 3rd gen games like Tri, Portable 3rd, and 3 Ultimate with Barroth being the first one we ever got (and the pickle of course for my MonHun buddies out there)
Gore Magala is an actual dragon in this game.
Never played monster hunter before and not sure if this would be worth to buy..
can you do battles on this devices?
Of course!
know of MH, but never gotten into it.
that sead ... i have ordered 1 ^^
as they can fight our mons, and it's gonna be something a lil different
..and the wife don't know :D
People online are pronouncing the Vital Bracelet dead. Was that ever officially announced / confirmed though?
This was verified at the beginning of the year since there were no new announcements. Toy manufacturers don't normally say out loud when a specific series is ending, it just ends. This was further confirmed with the shut-down of the app's online services.
@@humulomon there goes all of our raid train *sigh* those were the days 😔
Thank you so much for telling me that it's the same device. I thought they were version different exclusives like the gold & silver one.
Pre ordered the Rathalos🧱🔥
You SHOULD play *Monster Hunter Stories* (2v2 turn-based game) to familiarize yourself with the franchise IMO! :)
It's also a "monster-raising" game where you hatch/raise them and it is VERY friendly for newcomers into the franchise! :)
Theres also a Monster Hunter collab with Transformers
Its looks real cool! I kinda wanna buy it
26:44 Bro started naming sub & rare Rathian species. 😭
It would be a cool idea to merge some Rathalos & Rathian concepts, though.
Great video!
I bet even Rurikhan would wanna buy it
They should do a second line of this. Maybe with more digimon hybrids.
Whatever happened with the Hyper drop V-pets?
They release later this year
@@humulomon oh, so theres still time to get them?
Right now my money is wrapped up in bills, but I do want one.
OHHHH WE ARE SO BACK
i got the 2 from zenin, hearing that it sold out makes it worth it
Wish that this was in the console games
Zoids mentioned!
i would predect fuious rajang and shagaru magala to be on this probably an omnimon for the fusions
Maybe the third row is reserved for digimon versions of monster hunter monsters and the last one is just monster hunter omegamon?
Praying for dreadking rathlos evolution omg
is it in Japanese? if it is, will I understand it?
Details are in the video!
Do I want it? I like MH, but I don't care for the DMC... but it looks good!!! Hmmm
No way! Monster hunter!!! Shut up and take my money!!!
Seriously I haven't been this excited since monster hunter did a collaboration with zoids. Hopefully they'll still be available in a few days.
He's right btw. It was 4.
Kezu looked messed, but that thing was a fun challenge in the game. One of my favorites. So many good monsters in this crossover.
Magala is also one of my favorites.
Dont the sprites look higher res? Scale?
Yes, the sprites are making use of the full 48x48 pixel canvas, unlike the previous Color Digimon releases that upscaled 16x16 sprites to 48x48
My guess that they sold out so fast is they have low expectations and allocated a very low stock as this is just a collaboration release and not a brand new Digimon product. I'm kinda on the fence for this, on one hand this is an interesting idea but I don't know how I feel playing a Digimon V-pet raising different IP characters (I never bought the Ultraman, Kamen Rider VB DIMs for example).
i'm wondering that so many monster hunter fans are geting these that in time thay will realise thay dont like vpets and the market will be flooded with them or do i need to get it now.
with premium bandai stuff you never know but digimon so far have always gone up in price afterwards.
Boy, with the amount of copies the Monster Hunter Stories games have sold, I'd reckon you'll be waiting a long time for them to backwash into the market, we may love hunting these monsters but everyone always wanted to raise and train them just as much
@@Hooy-H00y nice to meet you monster hunter fan i hope you enjoy your vpet . this conversation is all becouse of a crossover event you would have thort that our two fandoms would have met befor being so similar we are all about the monsters. the killing is what keeped me away but ill have to go check out the story games.
. pre ordered both successfully then realized both use same program hahahah . didnt read that small warning . but still happy secured both
My guess: LaeusGreymon will be renamed "RathaGreymon" if they will release it in English.
Also, my ideas for future Digimon crossovers:
Zoids
Jujutsu Kaisen
My Hero Academia
Shin Megami Tensei/Persona
Resident Evil
Mega Man
HoYoverse/miHoYo (Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero)
Arknights
Gundam
Transformers
Neon Genesis Evangelion (they already made a crossover with Tamagotchi)
Castlevania
Super Sentai (JP)/Power Rangers (overseas)
Ultraman
Kaiju No. 8
Jurassic World
I-I-I want this so bad 😭
Put in a preorder qt big bad toy store.. usually they get the time they say so its first wave. But thinking going zenin for a second copy.
Now i need a DMC i live my dmx still working on the library
"Mainline and portable game"
The mainline serie died with Tri (the wii version since the WiiU/3ds version is a portable remake). Even World and Wild are technically part of the portable line.
Why you say that? How mh world and wilds are part of the portable line???
Very incorrect! Mainline and Portable are TEAMS! PORTABLE started with Freedom 2. Mainline team IS WORLD AND WILDS and they even work on Portable but for their games so Freedom and 3U.
@@JoshuaPAMployee You talk about the A and B team and not the difference between the portable line ( the portable line started with Freedom 1 which was made by the "mainline" team) and the mainline (1, DOS, Frontier and TRI).
Those two line have a different design philosophy. Mainline are console MMOs that happens to have a single player tutorial and portable game are single player game that happens to have a co-op feature
Before 3U all "mainline" game were absolutely not solo friendly, for example all monster (even village quest one) were HP sponges (2-3 times more HP than portable game), the single player part was only a very limited tutorial and online quest were clearly not made for solo play (some quest like the Lao Shan and Jhen Moran ones were almost impossible to beat solo).
So you played monster hunter 3 tri humulos neato
