Woa; I love how polarizing it is. I rode for first time this year and was blown away by it. Completely not a ride to marathon or re ride but the one ride I got was 🔥
it’s absolutely great to see two SFNE coasters in here, it was my home park growing up and it’s absolutely fantastic to see superman and wicked cyclone getting the praise that they deserve. most of my knowledge has recently been locked down to florida and NE but i’m hoping that this next trip to cali will help me build my credits (and hopefully i’ll finally get to experience a raptor)
STR is so criminally underrated. The restraints are not bad at all and it has some of the most intense airtime I’ve ever experienced. Definitely an elite coaster with a perfect layout, it’s like americas version of geforce
As a 22 year old who only really became an enthusiast 3-4 years ago, my coaster count is low. But it makes me feel a lot better to see some of the rides i have been on ranked in the top 50 or even 10 out of 500
Great list! Out of the 80 coasters I've ridden, here's my top 50. 51-80 are listed in the previous video. 50. Hurler - It's kinda rough and barely has airtime, but it was decently fast and the drop was really good. 49. Freedom Flyer - This is the coaster I've ridden the most. I rode it so many times as a kid it's nostalgic. It's still a fun ride with a great finale. 48. Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster - This alpine coaster was disappointingly short, especially for $15 (and that others like Smoky Mountain exist). However, what it did have was fun, like any good alpine coaster. 47. Slinky Dog Dash - I only got to ride this once and I don't quite remember much tbh but I remember liking it. Position subject to drastic changes. 46. Cobra's Curse - A fun and unique family coaster. Looking forward to riding it again! 45. Rocky Top Mountain Coaster - Despite being only a few places ahead of the Gatlinburg one, Rocky Top is MUCH better. It goes the unique route of splitting up its lift hills, distributing them among the fast parts. 44. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (MK) - This ride is an easy one to lap over and over, if the wait times weren't so freakin long. This fun-filled ride it worth that wait though, as it seems to never end. 43. Kumba - This ride was so rough it gave me a headache that lasted several days! It was intense and whippy though, and my dad didn't have a problem, nor do most people, so I owe it a reride in a different seat. 42. Blue Hawk - It's somewhat shaky, and I'm not a huge fan of the vest restraints, but it's a somewhat unique and intense looper. 41. Dragonflier - This family invert has a few surprises. The drop is great in the back, the turn immediately after is actually somewhat intense, and the helices are fun as well. 40. The Flying Cobras - Yes, I like Boomerangs! I got a really good ride in the back, but later I picked the front and it was sadly rough. Again, I'm not a big fan of the vest restraints either, but it's still a good ride (especially in the back) 39. Boomerang (Wild Adventures) - Same ride, but it's smooth and has the original over-the-shoulder restraints, which are actually better on a smooth Boomerang like this one. 38. The Riddler Mindbender - My ride in the front wasn't that good, but then I got a couple of back row rides and I like it better now. Still wish I could've experienced it before they added that trim brake. 37. Georgia Scorcher - I like the standup experience! 36. Mine Blower - Awesome layout, but rough as heck. Sadly can't justify put it any higher. ----. Space Mountain (Omega side) - It doesn't have a number, as I don't consider this a separate credit, but it's a separate track, so I thought might as well put it here. This side is strangely a little rough compared to the smooth Alpha side. 35. Dare Devil Dive - A fun and intense coaster tightly packed into a small plot of land. 34. Kraken - A fun, intense, fast looper. I rode it the day after Kumba, so Kraken hurt a little, and I wasn't very big on intensity at this point. It will likely rank higher in the future. 33. Tigris - A triple launch, forwards, then backwards, then forwards again, then a slow zero-g roll, then an ejector drop, then a non-inverting loop. Need I explain why this is a good ride? 32. Twisted Typhoon - I don't quite remember what happened, but I liked it a lot. Now that I've ridden B&M inverts, I'm curious how it would rank. 31. Galaxy Spin - Yes, it's a wild mouse, but it's a SPINNING one. This is one of the most pure fun coasters I've ever been on, and it easily keeps me at the park all day to ride over and over. 30. Space Mountain (Alpha) - Not sure how being smoother puts Alpha 6 places higher than Omega. I guess my rides were just better, idk. Anyway, it's Space Mountain, it's a classic. 29. Journey to Atlantis - I was impressed by this fun hybrid ride. You get a well-themed dark boat ride, then a shoot-the-chutes epic splashdown. But just when you think it's over, you start going UP again, and plummet into darkness in a curvy coaster drop into another splashdown! 28. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts - It's barely a coaster, but it still is, so it's here. The 3D effects are done very well on this ride, and it also has a fun tilt track. 27. Tennessee Tornado - The definition of short but sweet. It's over very fast, but easy to just ride again! 26. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster - The best alpine coaster. It lasts forever and has plenty of fun dips and helices as you speed down the mountain. Night rides are even more epic! 25. FireChaser Express - My favorite family coaster. 2 launches, bunny hills, a lift hill, drops, turns, a show section, and a backwards section make this a complete and fun-filled ride! 24. Montu - I only rode it once (and after riding Kumba so it hurt a bit) and I had little clue what was happening. I desperately need to ride this again more, and move it up! 23. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit - Yes, this ride is underrated! It's smooth, intense, and has some decent airtime. The ability to choose a song to play is a cool feature as well. I only had one rough ride and it wasn't that bad, and every other time it was glossy smooth. 22. Revenge of the Mummy - I love this dark ride/coaster hybrid. It's exciting, it's well-themed, it has a launch, it's got cool special effects, it tells a story, and it even goes backwards at one point. 21. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith - An underrated coaster no one talks about. A 57 mph launch in under 3 seconds, followed by 3 inversions, turns, drops, and neon signs all while Aerosmith music is blasting in your ears? Sign me up! 20. Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain - Like Thunder Mountain, but on steroids! 19. Wild Eagle - A big drop, then 4 breathtaking inversions! Too bad everything after isn't that interesting, but still, it's a great ride. 18. Superman Ultimate Flight (SFOG) - I love the flying experience, and the pretzel loop is insane! 17. Nighthawk - Much different from the B&M flyers, but I still like it. Has a great setting, inversions, and it is smooth if you fly up front. The uniqueness and scenery give it a slight edge over Superman. 16. Batman The Ride (SFOG) - This has to be the most intense coaster I've ever ridden. It's fast, intense, whippy, smooth, and paced perfectly. 15. Afterburn - Think Batman, but you get 2 extra inversions, more speed, and a tunnel. Sitting up front is awesome! 14. White Lightning - I'm nostalgic about this one, my original declared favorite coaster. It's still very fun to this day. Non-stop hills and the pacing never lets up. 13. Cheetah Hunt - A long and fun where speed is the main focus, and I don't mind that one bit! 12. Thunderhead - Like a twister version of White Lightning. It's also longer, and has nice cushioned seats, which makes it better imo, despite being rougher. 11. Mystery Mine - I like weird coasters, and this one takes the cake for me. Fun first third, then a slightly ramped-up second third, then an all-out finale! 10. Twisted Cyclone - Sure, it's short, but RMC did an amazing job fitting this coaster into this tight spot. The inversions and airtime are real with this one! 9. Copperhead Strike - 3 hangtime moments, ejector airtime hills, 2 other inversions, intense turns, and launches (they're weak, but still, launches!). I instantly liked this ride a lot, and only liked it more when I got more rides! 8. The Incredible Hulk Coaster - This coaster absolutely HAULS, and it delivers crazy intensity. The launch just makes it even better, and the soundtrack is the cherry on top. 7. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure - Theming, story, turns, a spike, backwards section, turns, creatures, a drop track, turns, SEVEN launches and more turns! 6. Manta - This coaster is longer than Superman, and smoother than Nighthawk. Plus it has a great setting. It may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love Manta. 5. Mako - Yes it's BELOW Intimidator but ONLY because my last 2 rides weren't as good with my headache (thanks, Kumba). I know that's kinda unfair but it is what it is. It's probably better than Intimidator and I'll find that out someday. But yeah, my first rides were absolutely incredible! 4. Intimidator - Basically Mako with trims. The trims don't kill the airtime much, but riding towards the back seems to make them worse. Nitpicking aside, this is still an elite coaster packed with airtime goodness! 3. Goliath (SFOG) - Mako and Intimidator pop, but Goliath throws. The airtime feels stronger than the others, and throw in the insane helix and I can overlook the roughness (which isn't bad in the front) and slide this into #3. 2. Lightning Rod - If Goliath throws, Lightning Rod yeets! I couldn't get enough of its ejector airtime goodness! The launched lift hill is great as well. Also, yes, it's smooth now. 1. Fury 325 - It doesn't have quite as many airtime moments as #2-5, but that's okay, as it gives what the others can't: speeds up to 90 mph! The airtime it does have is strong, and my final ride in the front was legendary! SheiKra was closed when we went. VelociCoaster could be my new #1 when we go back to Universal, we'll see! @@AirtimeThrills All that second half airtime on Goliath is massive ejector. I have never seen a coaster with more "thrown" debris in the final hill run, definitely more than the first few big floater hills. Like you, I waffle between it and Cyclone as my favorite there. Had probably one of my crazier rides on there this year too. A nest of bees had gotten onto the lift hill and we had to go straight through it. Never was more terrified on a lift in my life. They ended up having to shut it down right after we rode. I think "Goliath, now with bees" adds a level of excitement that is beyond what I would even want to experience regularly (it needs a t-shirt, really)
I can’t believe it’s been 4 years. I still remember finding your channel when I was planing a trip to magic mountain, and your first video was 3 months old.
One time this summer, I rode Magnum XL-200 20 times in one day. (CP is my home park) The people working there started to recognize me coming back to ride more throughout the day. I think I rode Magnum at least 100 times this summer and I swear it never gets old.
This is how I feel about Wicked Cyclone. Didn't get to it as much as you did with Magnum (impressive BTW!), I did however get to ride it 37 times- one night 14 times in a row. I love when a coaster just grabs you and makes you stay to ride over and over! That's a top tier attraction when it can invoke those feelings!
I rode Raptor a few times in Oct this year. The back row just tore through the layout. I’ve personally never had a bad ride on Raptor. And I rode it as a kid opening year. Lol
Man, you're making me contemplate a last minute ticket to Louisville for Kentucky Kingdom even harder... And with El Toro in my home park, it's been a painful year. I was fortunate enough to get 8 rides in before it shut down, and Great Adventure feels like a shell of a park without it. I've been on it countless times but I always come off blown away, and I know I count my lucky stars that I can hop over the bridge to Jersey and ride that beast almost any time I want.
Question: if the row changes the quality of the ride, is it really that good of a ride? I rode SV a few times during quarantine not being able to choose my row and my opinion changed. It wasn’t as strong as I remembered from the previous year, and I was very disappointed. I know that placement changes the experience slightly (I’m usually a back row guy) but there are great rides like magnum were you can sit pretty much anywhere and still get a great ride.
I absolutely second this. Kings Island is my home park and even though Diamondback is a decent ride, a lot of the hype around turns into "oh well you have to sit in the back for it to be good." To me, that makes the ride lose a lot of points because I'm much more excited to ride something like Mystic Timbers or Maverick that doesn't really have a bad seat at all
i agree that if a row drastically changes the quality then it isn't that great. however, i feel that every row on sv has the same elite experience. thats just from my experience.
@@bohottie I’m a ride op at carowinds and I actually have had one experience where Fury disappointed. There was an ERT event for employees on a cold night this fall. The train was mostly empty and it was crawling all night. Still tied for my #1 tho Edit: also the trim on the camelback was hitting really hard
FINALLY, someone who likes Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket! When you first said it was 20 I thought it was a joke because no one really likes it... I get that it has a ton of break runs, but I still loved it. Every ride I have gotten on it, I get flung out of my seat. The restraint feels like it gets looser throughout the ride instead of tighter. And I always had so much room. THANK YOU, I knew I wasn't crazy!
I rode Wicked Cyclone and Superman: The Ride for the first time, on the same day, this summer. Superman still seems to be the biggest draw in the park by far, it's just a masterpiece of coaster design, and it would have become my personal #1 without question... were it not for Wicked Cyclone. If Superman is like a thrilling story with multiple acts, Wicked Cyclone is more like a raging tantrum of a ride. It throws something new at you every couple of seconds, usually involving ejector air, with just enough inversions to break it up a little.
@@MattMcIrvin lol perfect description. I had tears in my eyes from laughter after wicked cyclone, I couldn't believe how pleasurably violent it was for being so small.
I rode Steel Vengeance for the first time ever back in June and it kicked Wicked Cyclone out of my #1 spot despite the mid course brakes being turned on.
So happy to see Utah being represented in Coaster videos finally 😅 being a roller coaster enthusiast living in Utah is rough, but living near Lagoon and getting to ride Cannibal often makes it a lot better
This New Yorker needs to get back to the midwest soon (I can't believe I'm saying that, but coaster-wise it's been awhile!). Sadly, obviously most of us locals didn't even get to ride El Toro this summer (at least Nitro was running great the day I was there), but I will agree with you that the Rip Ride Rockit was running better than ever, and that Velocicoaster is perfect. In my memory, Twisted Timbers was better than Wicked Cyclone, but I also haven't been on WC since 2016 and was on TT this summer. Keep these videos coming, we love them!
Man am I the only one that likes Beast anymore?! It's my number 1 and I've ridden about 80 coasters including Steel Vengeance. Maybe I just like long wooden coasters in the woods. The night ride is the greatest I've ever had next to Outlaw Run.

Great list! Love this time of year when all the rankings come out. Not sure about Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit though. Maybe I should give it another chance. As of 2019 it’s ranked as my #1 worst coaster as it was not necessarily rough but the vibration was so bad I was worried it was going to damage my spine and that’s 3 rides in different seats. Also Mindblower is my #1 in FLA if that tells you anything lol.
Weird. Had like 5 rides when I about 5 years ago when I was 11, all of those rides were incredibly fun. Will be riding it again in a month and hopefully it’s still good, still don’t understand why it’s polarizing though maybe I was just lucky?

Great list. So fun and not overly analytical in my opinion. I wonder how Iron Gwazi and ArieForce One will end up compared to the other RMC hybrids. The povs look amazing. I'm really excited to see what Dollywood and Silver Dollar City have in store for this year as well. I think we will be getting new ride announcements for both parks by the end of 2022. Also, I wonder what the first thing Herschind will do with Kentucky Kingdom is. I also have a theory where Cedar Fair buys the FunSpot Parks for their first foray into the southern states. It would be a great expansion for the company. I really enjoyed your channel this year Chris, thank you for the hours of entertainment you provide I know it takes alot of work. Haha, love the guy's hat flying off during the first drop on #30. I wanted to love Hades 360 when I rode it this summer in 2021, but that thing was straight up rough to the point where it wasn't all that fun. Great ride potential for sure, but that double down nearly split my lower back in half
@@AirtimeThrills That being said, if I ever found myself out there again I would still ride that beast. Retrack or fix that thing up and it is bonafide elite. That tunnel in the pitch black alone was the scariest thing I have ever ridden.
For the B&M Hypers, my thoughts are I'm looking for quality moments over quantity. I've ridden all 8 in the US and my opinions differ slightly from yours a little bit: Mako (#17 overall)- I think this is the best Hyper in the US. Everything is darn near perfect. Wish the trims didn't hit so hard on the mid course. Candymonium (#22 overall)- I think each air time moment is super strong, so I rank this over others that have longer layouts. I also think the setting where it circles the hershey kiss fountain is a nice touch. A lot of Mako in this coaster. Diamondback (#34 overall)- I used to like it more, but my latest rides in 2020 I found it hade more a rattle with it. You are correct it does have some of the strongest air time for B&M Hypers. Goliath at SFOG (#36 overall)- Last rode it in 2018. I like the lay-out a lot, Need to get back to the park in 2022 and see if I like it more after all the rides I've got on Mako and Candy this year. Intimidator (#50 overall)- When it runs good it is in the tier with Diamondback and Goliath, but if the trim hits hard then it drops a bit. Good layout. Apollo's Chariot (#54 overall)- I really like the setting for this coaster. Air Time lacks a little compared to the ones in front of it, and I'm guessing possibly Nitro. Nitro (#60 overall)- I finally got around to riding it this year in about the worse conditions for a B&M Hyper- Cold, wet, windy. It didn't deliver as I hoped, but it could be the conditions. Raging Bull (#63 overall)- I really enjoy the drop in the back row, but I find the rest of the twister layout not to work as well as the other hypers. You can take 10 different people and probably get 10 different list with B&M Hypers.
Cedar Point is my home park, whenever I get fast pass, I usually go STRAIGHT TO MAGNUM when it's a 10 minute wait on a Saturday so I can get as many magic seat rides as I can to get my Red Bull on. I've ridden SteVe 5 times this year and I've only hit the trims once

Idk what was going on with RMC this year, but I was all for it. As a New Englander, I can absolutely confirm Wicked Cyclone was running better than it ever has. Twisted Timbers was also running faster this year even than my post rain rides in 2019. Also, the Joker at discovery kingdom blew me away based on how people say it takes its airtime hills pretty slow.
I don’t get the crazy love for Maverick either. It surprised the heck out of my when I first rode it over a decade ago, but RMC and general hypers are so much more fun imo
In March I’m going to Busch gardens Tampa and I’m really excited to probably ride my first RMC being iron gwazi. I’m also really exited for month and sheikra!
love seeing SV at number 1, rode it for the first time this year cause every other time i went to the park previously it wasn’t running and the ride exceeded my expectations somehow, also had some insane night rides during a friday in halloweekends and the line was under 30 minutes everytime and even a walk on at one point so i got an insane marathon
On Goliath at SFOG that helix made me gray out and my cousin who was sitting next to me was calling me weak XD, On Twisted Cyclone the ride ops were so chill they gave us about 6 inches of room with our lap bar and the let us look backwards all in the back row! Those were the best rides on any rollercoaster I have ever gotten.

I got 14 rides on Steel Vengeance a few months ago. 4 of those rides had next to no trim at the mid-course, 6 or 7 had decent trim, and 3 or 4 had some serious hard slapping trim. Obviously no trim we’re the best rides, and the medium-hard trim were just so-so. It made me wonder what the deal was. Every train was full, every train ranged from youth to adult, there didn’t seem to be much difference ride to ride. I really need to heard from an operator or mechanic what the deal is. I’d imagine it has to do with the speed of the train as it hits the mid course but it could very well just be random, attempting to reduce extra stress on the track for the 2nd half. I did hear an op say he felt very strongly that it was running faster in the first half of the course in 2021 than any year prior, but didn’t answer when I asked about the mid course.
I’m still ahead of you in credits Chris, nearing 600. Steel Vengeance is still my #1, VelociCoaster took my #2 spot from Fury 325. I agree with most of your top 100, except for El Toro being that high up. I’ve had my stomach crushed on almost every ride on it. The restraint bar moves forward on the airtime hills and then re-closes on my stomach when the airtime is over. This happened on 4 of my 6 rides on it. Too painful to be in my top 10 wooden coasters!
@@AirtimeThrills You're thin and tall. For me on Toro, at best there's 2 mm of difference between tight enough to be allowed to ride and some of my most painful coaster experiences ever.... @robert polk never considered it flexes though, it does a good job during the air. I was stapled recently on I305 and that was weird, because I know it's that tight by the end, but still seemed a lot different to get that right from from the start. Normally move up and down a few inches, bet you don't.
I get why you don’t like maverick too much. Its layout really isn’t that interesting once you get to know it. But for me, the overall experience of the ride, along with the strong forces, the drop, and the launch, are why it’s so good. Great list though, Steel Vengeance still remains my #1

Hello, I wanted to say the Magic Mountain history videos were really great, thanks for making them!! By chance while you were doing research for the videos, did you come across the name Robin S. Hall? I found his website and saw he was the Art Director of Magic Mountain in the early days, for about 6 years or so if i'm not mistaken. I saw he designed Spillikin Corners, as well as many other pieces throughout the park such as the Troll Bounce. It was fascinating looking through the galleries of his sketches, designs, concepts, illustrations and other things. I even saw concept artwork for really strange looking Magic Mountain Troll costumes! The Wizard looked about the same though.
My top 5 roller coasters 🎢 are 1. Tatsu 2. X2 3. Twisted Colossus. 4. Ghost Rider 5. West Coast Racers. I know, I know I’ve only been to West Coast parks. Haha I definitely need to make a trip to Cedar Point one of these days!

I like montu but I like kumba more at Busch gardens Tampa fl :) I like the big bear at Hershey Park PA too. I really miss carolwinds in NC . I went there as a kid with my aunt n uncle. I live in MD but I haven't been to six flags in MD yet :( the hulk at Universal studios FL and aerosmith rocking roller coaster at Disney Orlando FL is fun
10:17 - Hollywood RRR blew my mind this year. I had heard so many bad things about it (before any of this 2021 love), and I got off of it and was like….I think this is in my top 15. The FORCES were insane. The grey out and airtime was pretty unexpected.
I got 2 rides on it this year the first ride was the negatives that people complain about the roughness, but my second ride was really enjoyable upon preparing for that roughness so much that I barely felt it

I have to say comparing my list to other youtubers mine seems to follow closest to yours. Awesome seeing love for Rip Ride Rockit. Here was my Top 10 (Lightning Rod was closed when I went to Dollywood otherwise i'm sure it would have been in the top 5) 1) Velocicoaster, 2) Goliath (SFOG), 3) El Toro, 4) Twisted Cyclone, 5) Mako, 6) Nitro, 7)ShieKra, 8)Kingda Ka, 9) Montu, 10) Cheetah Hunt
Love to see cheetah hunt love, that ride is so damn fun. I’ve ridden 98 coasters and it still ranks #2 for me with lightning rod at Dollywood being the only one that beats it for me!
@@carsonholley136 You just really had to rub in Lighting Rod didn't ya! lol. I love Cheetah Hunt but I haven't actually ridden it since I've rode Velocicoaster and it will fall out of my top 10 for sure after Iron Gwazi. I was there for the day they reopened Cheetah Hunt after the paint job. I was there at rope drop trying to be on the first train, but of course while I was the first person to make it to Cheetah Hunt after the park opened, it had broken down during testing and didn't end up opening until later in the afternoon. By that time I had given up and went back to Islands of Adventure and rode Velocicoaster instead.
Ok so I thought the same thing about maverick. I was like what is all the hype for? Then I rode it back row at night… let’s say that changed my options pretty crazily. CP is my home park so I’ve seen all the coasters on there good and bad days, maverick is one of the best.

it’s absolutely great to see two SFNE coasters in here, it was my home park growing up and it’s absolutely fantastic to see superman and wicked cyclone getting the praise that they deserve. most of my knowledge has recently been locked down to florida and NE but i’m hoping that this next trip to cali will help me build my credits (and hopefully i’ll finally get to experience a raptor)

STR is so criminally underrated. The restraints are not bad at all and it has some of the most intense airtime I’ve ever experienced. Definitely an elite coaster with a perfect layout, it’s like americas version of geforce

As a 22 year old who only really became an enthusiast 3-4 years ago, my coaster count is low. But it makes me feel a lot better to see some of the rides i have been on ranked in the top 50 or even 10 out of 500

Great list! Out of the 80 coasters I've ridden, here's my top 50. 51-80 are listed in the previous video.
50. Hurler - It's kinda rough and barely has airtime, but it was decently fast and the drop was really good.
49. Freedom Flyer - This is the coaster I've ridden the most. I rode it so many times as a kid it's nostalgic. It's still a fun ride with a great finale.
48. Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster - This alpine coaster was disappointingly short, especially for $15 (and that others like Smoky Mountain exist). However, what it did have was fun, like any good alpine coaster.
47. Slinky Dog Dash - I only got to ride this once and I don't quite remember much tbh but I remember liking it. Position subject to drastic changes.
46. Cobra's Curse - A fun and unique family coaster. Looking forward to riding it again!
45. Rocky Top Mountain Coaster - Despite being only a few places ahead of the Gatlinburg one, Rocky Top is MUCH better. It goes the unique route of splitting up its lift hills, distributing them among the fast parts.
44. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (MK) - This ride is an easy one to lap over and over, if the wait times weren't so freakin long. This fun-filled ride it worth that wait though, as it seems to never end.
43. Kumba - This ride was so rough it gave me a headache that lasted several days! It was intense and whippy though, and my dad didn't have a problem, nor do most people, so I owe it a reride in a different seat.
42. Blue Hawk - It's somewhat shaky, and I'm not a huge fan of the vest restraints, but it's a somewhat unique and intense looper.
41. Dragonflier - This family invert has a few surprises. The drop is great in the back, the turn immediately after is actually somewhat intense, and the helices are fun as well.
40. The Flying Cobras - Yes, I like Boomerangs! I got a really good ride in the back, but later I picked the front and it was sadly rough. Again, I'm not a big fan of the vest restraints either, but it's still a good ride (especially in the back)
39. Boomerang (Wild Adventures) - Same ride, but it's smooth and has the original over-the-shoulder restraints, which are actually better on a smooth Boomerang like this one.
38. The Riddler Mindbender - My ride in the front wasn't that good, but then I got a couple of back row rides and I like it better now. Still wish I could've experienced it before they added that trim brake.
37. Georgia Scorcher - I like the standup experience!
36. Mine Blower - Awesome layout, but rough as heck. Sadly can't justify put it any higher.
----. Space Mountain (Omega side) - It doesn't have a number, as I don't consider this a separate credit, but it's a separate track, so I thought might as well put it here. This side is strangely a little rough compared to the smooth Alpha side.
35. Dare Devil Dive - A fun and intense coaster tightly packed into a small plot of land.
34. Kraken - A fun, intense, fast looper. I rode it the day after Kumba, so Kraken hurt a little, and I wasn't very big on intensity at this point. It will likely rank higher in the future.
33. Tigris - A triple launch, forwards, then backwards, then forwards again, then a slow zero-g roll, then an ejector drop, then a non-inverting loop. Need I explain why this is a good ride?
32. Twisted Typhoon - I don't quite remember what happened, but I liked it a lot. Now that I've ridden B&M inverts, I'm curious how it would rank.
31. Galaxy Spin - Yes, it's a wild mouse, but it's a SPINNING one. This is one of the most pure fun coasters I've ever been on, and it easily keeps me at the park all day to ride over and over.
30. Space Mountain (Alpha) - Not sure how being smoother puts Alpha 6 places higher than Omega. I guess my rides were just better, idk. Anyway, it's Space Mountain, it's a classic.
29. Journey to Atlantis - I was impressed by this fun hybrid ride. You get a well-themed dark boat ride, then a shoot-the-chutes epic splashdown. But just when you think it's over, you start going UP again, and plummet into darkness in a curvy coaster drop into another splashdown!
28. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts - It's barely a coaster, but it still is, so it's here. The 3D effects are done very well on this ride, and it also has a fun tilt track.
27. Tennessee Tornado - The definition of short but sweet. It's over very fast, but easy to just ride again!
26. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster - The best alpine coaster. It lasts forever and has plenty of fun dips and helices as you speed down the mountain. Night rides are even more epic!
25. FireChaser Express - My favorite family coaster. 2 launches, bunny hills, a lift hill, drops, turns, a show section, and a backwards section make this a complete and fun-filled ride!
24. Montu - I only rode it once (and after riding Kumba so it hurt a bit) and I had little clue what was happening. I desperately need to ride this again more, and move it up!
23. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit - Yes, this ride is underrated! It's smooth, intense, and has some decent airtime. The ability to choose a song to play is a cool feature as well. I only had one rough ride and it wasn't that bad, and every other time it was glossy smooth.
22. Revenge of the Mummy - I love this dark ride/coaster hybrid. It's exciting, it's well-themed, it has a launch, it's got cool special effects, it tells a story, and it even goes backwards at one point.
21. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith - An underrated coaster no one talks about. A 57 mph launch in under 3 seconds, followed by 3 inversions, turns, drops, and neon signs all while Aerosmith music is blasting in your ears? Sign me up!
20. Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain - Like Thunder Mountain, but on steroids!
19. Wild Eagle - A big drop, then 4 breathtaking inversions! Too bad everything after isn't that interesting, but still, it's a great ride.
18. Superman Ultimate Flight (SFOG) - I love the flying experience, and the pretzel loop is insane!
17. Nighthawk - Much different from the B&M flyers, but I still like it. Has a great setting, inversions, and it is smooth if you fly up front. The uniqueness and scenery give it a slight edge over Superman.
16. Batman The Ride (SFOG) - This has to be the most intense coaster I've ever ridden. It's fast, intense, whippy, smooth, and paced perfectly.
15. Afterburn - Think Batman, but you get 2 extra inversions, more speed, and a tunnel. Sitting up front is awesome!
14. White Lightning - I'm nostalgic about this one, my original declared favorite coaster. It's still very fun to this day. Non-stop hills and the pacing never lets up.
13. Cheetah Hunt - A long and fun where speed is the main focus, and I don't mind that one bit!
12. Thunderhead - Like a twister version of White Lightning. It's also longer, and has nice cushioned seats, which makes it better imo, despite being rougher.
11. Mystery Mine - I like weird coasters, and this one takes the cake for me. Fun first third, then a slightly ramped-up second third, then an all-out finale!
10. Twisted Cyclone - Sure, it's short, but RMC did an amazing job fitting this coaster into this tight spot. The inversions and airtime are real with this one!
9. Copperhead Strike - 3 hangtime moments, ejector airtime hills, 2 other inversions, intense turns, and launches (they're weak, but still, launches!). I instantly liked this ride a lot, and only liked it more when I got more rides!
8. The Incredible Hulk Coaster - This coaster absolutely HAULS, and it delivers crazy intensity. The launch just makes it even better, and the soundtrack is the cherry on top.
7. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure - Theming, story, turns, a spike, backwards section, turns, creatures, a drop track, turns, SEVEN launches and more turns!
6. Manta - This coaster is longer than Superman, and smoother than Nighthawk. Plus it has a great setting. It may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love Manta.
5. Mako - Yes it's BELOW Intimidator but ONLY because my last 2 rides weren't as good with my headache (thanks, Kumba). I know that's kinda unfair but it is what it is. It's probably better than Intimidator and I'll find that out someday. But yeah, my first rides were absolutely incredible!
4. Intimidator - Basically Mako with trims. The trims don't kill the airtime much, but riding towards the back seems to make them worse. Nitpicking aside, this is still an elite coaster packed with airtime goodness!
3. Goliath (SFOG) - Mako and Intimidator pop, but Goliath throws. The airtime feels stronger than the others, and throw in the insane helix and I can overlook the roughness (which isn't bad in the front) and slide this into #3.
2. Lightning Rod - If Goliath throws, Lightning Rod yeets! I couldn't get enough of its ejector airtime goodness! The launched lift hill is great as well. Also, yes, it's smooth now.
1. Fury 325 - It doesn't have quite as many airtime moments as #2-5, but that's okay, as it gives what the others can't: speeds up to 90 mph! The airtime it does have is strong, and my final ride in the front was legendary!
SheiKra was closed when we went.
VelociCoaster could be my new #1 when we go back to Universal, we'll see!

@@AirtimeThrills All that second half airtime on Goliath is massive ejector. I have never seen a coaster with more "thrown" debris in the final hill run, definitely more than the first few big floater hills. Like you, I waffle between it and Cyclone as my favorite there.
Had probably one of my crazier rides on there this year too. A nest of bees had gotten onto the lift hill and we had to go straight through it. Never was more terrified on a lift in my life. They ended up having to shut it down right after we rode. I think "Goliath, now with bees" adds a level of excitement that is beyond what I would even want to experience regularly (it needs a t-shirt, really)

One time this summer, I rode Magnum XL-200 20 times in one day. (CP is my home park) The people working there started to recognize me coming back to ride more throughout the day. I think I rode Magnum at least 100 times this summer and I swear it never gets old.
This is how I feel about Wicked Cyclone. Didn't get to it as much as you did with Magnum (impressive BTW!), I did however get to ride it 37 times- one night 14 times in a row. I love when a coaster just grabs you and makes you stay to ride over and over! That's a top tier attraction when it can invoke those feelings!

Sounds like me with Steel Eel back in 2003. I rode that sucker 70 times in one day, 30 in the morning, 40 in the afternoon. I was NUTS at age 7. :P

Man, you're making me contemplate a last minute ticket to Louisville for Kentucky Kingdom even harder...
And with El Toro in my home park, it's been a painful year. I was fortunate enough to get 8 rides in before it shut down, and Great Adventure feels like a shell of a park without it. I've been on it countless times but I always come off blown away, and I know I count my lucky stars that I can hop over the bridge to Jersey and ride that beast almost any time I want.
KK is worth the visit for Lightning Run alone. Kentucky Flyer and Storm Chaser are just bonus coasters at the park.

Question: if the row changes the quality of the ride, is it really that good of a ride? I rode SV a few times during quarantine not being able to choose my row and my opinion changed. It wasn’t as strong as I remembered from the previous year, and I was very disappointed. I know that placement changes the experience slightly (I’m usually a back row guy) but there are great rides like magnum were you can sit pretty much anywhere and still get a great ride.
I absolutely second this. Kings Island is my home park and even though Diamondback is a decent ride, a lot of the hype around turns into "oh well you have to sit in the back for it to be good." To me, that makes the ride lose a lot of points because I'm much more excited to ride something like Mystic Timbers or Maverick that doesn't really have a bad seat at all
Agreed. I rank Fury higher than SV because you literally cannot get a bad ride in it. You can get a disappointing ride on SV.
That’s my favorite thing about Twisted Colossus. The experience is amazing no matter what seat you get.

FINALLY, someone who likes Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket! When you first said it was 20 I thought it was a joke because no one really likes it... I get that it has a ton of break runs, but I still loved it. Every ride I have gotten on it, I get flung out of my seat. The restraint feels like it gets looser throughout the ride instead of tighter. And I always had so much room. THANK YOU, I knew I wasn't crazy!

I rode Wicked Cyclone and Superman: The Ride for the first time, on the same day, this summer. Superman still seems to be the biggest draw in the park by far, it's just a masterpiece of coaster design, and it would have become my personal #1 without question... were it not for Wicked Cyclone. If Superman is like a thrilling story with multiple acts, Wicked Cyclone is more like a raging tantrum of a ride. It throws something new at you every couple of seconds, usually involving ejector air, with just enough inversions to break it up a little.
@@MattMcIrvin lol perfect description. I had tears in my eyes from laughter after wicked cyclone, I couldn't believe how pleasurably violent it was for being so small.
I rode Steel Vengeance for the first time ever back in June and it kicked Wicked Cyclone out of my #1 spot despite the mid course brakes being turned on.

This New Yorker needs to get back to the midwest soon (I can't believe I'm saying that, but coaster-wise it's been awhile!). Sadly, obviously most of us locals didn't even get to ride El Toro this summer (at least Nitro was running great the day I was there), but I will agree with you that the Rip Ride Rockit was running better than ever, and that Velocicoaster is perfect. In my memory, Twisted Timbers was better than Wicked Cyclone, but I also haven't been on WC since 2016 and was on TT this summer. Keep these videos coming, we love them!

Man am I the only one that likes Beast anymore?! It's my number 1 and I've ridden about 80 coasters including Steel Vengeance. Maybe I just like long wooden coasters in the woods. The night ride is the greatest I've ever had next to Outlaw Run.

Great list! Love this time of year when all the rankings come out. Not sure about Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit though. Maybe I should give it another chance. As of 2019 it’s ranked as my #1 worst coaster as it was not necessarily rough but the vibration was so bad I was worried it was going to damage my spine and that’s 3 rides in different seats. Also Mindblower is my #1 in FLA if that tells you anything lol.
Weird. Had like 5 rides when I about 5 years ago when I was 11, all of those rides were incredibly fun. Will be riding it again in a month and hopefully it’s still good, still don’t understand why it’s polarizing though maybe I was just lucky?

Great list. So fun and not overly analytical in my opinion. I wonder how Iron Gwazi and ArieForce One will end up compared to the other RMC hybrids. The povs look amazing. I'm really excited to see what Dollywood and Silver Dollar City have in store for this year as well. I think we will be getting new ride announcements for both parks by the end of 2022. Also, I wonder what the first thing Herschind will do with Kentucky Kingdom is. I also have a theory where Cedar Fair buys the FunSpot Parks for their first foray into the southern states. It would be a great expansion for the company. I really enjoyed your channel this year Chris, thank you for the hours of entertainment you provide I know it takes alot of work. I wanted to love Hades 360 when I rode it this summer in 2021, but that thing was straight up rough to the point where it wasn't all that fun. Great ride potential for sure, but that double down nearly split my lower back in half

@@AirtimeThrills That being said, if I ever found myself out there again I would still ride that beast. Retrack or fix that thing up and it is bonafide elite. That tunnel in the pitch black alone was the scariest thing I have ever ridden.
Great video and list. I'd have a B&M Flyer somewhere in my list too and drop one of the RMCs or Woodies to make room.
For the B&M Hypers, my thoughts are I'm looking for quality moments over quantity. I've ridden all 8 in the US and my opinions differ slightly from yours a little bit:
Mako (#17 overall)- I think this is the best Hyper in the US. Everything is darn near perfect. Wish the trims didn't hit so hard on the mid course.
Candymonium (#22 overall)- I think each air time moment is super strong, so I rank this over others that have longer layouts. I also think the setting where it circles the hershey kiss fountain is a nice touch. A lot of Mako in this coaster.
Diamondback (#34 overall)- I used to like it more, but my latest rides in 2020 I found it hade more a rattle with it. You are correct it does have some of the strongest air time for B&M Hypers.
Goliath at SFOG (#36 overall)- Last rode it in 2018. I like the lay-out a lot, Need to get back to the park in 2022 and see if I like it more after all the rides I've got on Mako and Candy this year.
Intimidator (#50 overall)- When it runs good it is in the tier with Diamondback and Goliath, but if the trim hits hard then it drops a bit. Good layout.
Apollo's Chariot (#54 overall)- I really like the setting for this coaster. Air Time lacks a little compared to the ones in front of it, and I'm guessing possibly Nitro.
Nitro (#60 overall)- I finally got around to riding it this year in about the worse conditions for a B&M Hyper- Cold, wet, windy. It didn't deliver as I hoped, but it could be the conditions.
Raging Bull (#63 overall)- I really enjoy the drop in the back row, but I find the rest of the twister layout not to work as well as the other hypers.
You can take 10 different people and probably get 10 different list with B&M Hypers.
Quality over quantity on hypers is a good take. I use that philosophy to put El Toro so high in my rankings

Cedar Point is my home park, whenever I get fast pass, I usually go STRAIGHT TO MAGNUM when it's a 10 minute wait on a Saturday so I can get as many magic seat rides as I can to get my Red Bull on. I've ridden SteVe 5 times this year and I've only hit the trims once

Idk what was going on with RMC this year, but I was all for it. As a New Englander, I can absolutely confirm Wicked Cyclone was running better than it ever has. Twisted Timbers was also running faster this year even than my post rain rides in 2019. Also, the Joker at discovery kingdom blew me away based on how people say it takes its airtime hills pretty slow.
Twisted Colossus was running fierce in early October.
I don’t get the crazy love for Maverick either. It surprised the heck out of my when I first rode it over a decade ago, but RMC and general hypers are so much more fun imo
In March I’m going to Busch gardens Tampa and I’m really excited to probably ride my first RMC being iron gwazi. I’m also really exited for month and sheikra!

love seeing SV at number 1, rode it for the first time this year cause every other time i went to the park previously it wasn’t running and the ride exceeded my expectations somehow, also had some insane night rides during a friday in halloweekends and the line was under 30 minutes everytime and even a walk on at one point so i got an insane marathon

It's really nice to see a ride from my home park (Six Flags Great America) in the top 15. Raging Bull is the best!
On Goliath at SFOG that helix made me gray out and my cousin who was sitting next to me was calling me weak XD, On Twisted Cyclone the ride ops were so chill they gave us about 6 inches of room with our lap bar and the let us look backwards all in the back row! Those were the best rides on any rollercoaster I have ever gotten.

My front row ride of Steel Vengeance this year was by far the best ride I’ve ever had in any coaster.

I got 14 rides on Steel Vengeance a few months ago. 4 of those rides had next to no trim at the mid-course, 6 or 7 had decent trim, and 3 or 4 had some serious hard slapping trim. Obviously no trim we’re the best rides, and the medium-hard trim were just so-so. It made me wonder what the deal was. Every train was full, every train ranged from youth to adult, there didn’t seem to be much difference ride to ride. I really need to heard from an operator or mechanic what the deal is. I’d imagine it has to do with the speed of the train as it hits the mid course but it could very well just be random, attempting to reduce extra stress on the track for the 2nd half. I did hear an op say he felt very strongly that it was running faster in the first half of the course in 2021 than any year prior, but didn’t answer when I asked about the mid course.

When I put Raging Bull above most B&M hypers people called me crazy. Back row predrop is extremely underrated and the best element.
Absolutely...I was surprised when Apollo's Chariot didn't pull the same forces with basically the same element. Raging Bull's drop is just madness

I’m still ahead of you in credits Chris, nearing 600. Steel Vengeance is still my #1, VelociCoaster took my #2 spot from Fury 325. I agree with most of your top 100, except for El Toro being that high up. I’ve had my stomach crushed on almost every ride on it. The restraint bar moves forward on the airtime hills and then re-closes on my stomach when the airtime is over. This happened on 4 of my 6 rides on it. Too painful to be in my top 10 wooden coasters!
Ive never had an issue with Toros lapbar, i love how it rests on your stomach so it doesnt crush your lap. But it may not be for everyone

@@AirtimeThrills You're thin and tall. For me on Toro, at best there's 2 mm of difference between tight enough to be allowed to ride and some of my most painful coaster experiences ever.... @robert polk never considered it flexes though, it does a good job during the air.
I was stapled recently on I305 and that was weird, because I know it's that tight by the end, but still seemed a lot different to get that right from from the start. Normally move up and down a few inches, bet you don't.

I get why you don’t like maverick too much. Its layout really isn’t that interesting once you get to know it. But for me, the overall experience of the ride, along with the strong forces, the drop, and the launch, are why it’s so good.

Hello, I wanted to say the Magic Mountain history videos were really great, thanks for making them!! By chance while you were doing research for the videos, did you come across the name Robin S. Hall? I found his website and saw he was the Art Director of Magic Mountain in the early days, for about 6 years or so if i'm not mistaken. I saw he designed Spillikin Corners, as well as many other pieces throughout the park such as the Troll Bounce. It was fascinating looking through the galleries of his sketches, designs, concepts, illustrations and other things. I even saw concept artwork for really strange looking Magic Mountain Troll costumes! The Wizard looked about the same though.
Diamondbacks rattle makes it better imo, it really matches the theme
Also, after marathoning it this summer, I'm a big Orion fan, and glad to see it get respects

I like montu but I like kumba more at Busch gardens Tampa fl :) I like the big bear at Hershey Park PA too. I really miss carolwinds in NC . I went there as a kid with my aunt n uncle. I live in MD but I haven't been to six flags in MD yet :( the hulk at Universal studios FL and aerosmith rocking roller coaster at Disney Orlando FL is fun
10:17 - Hollywood RRR blew my mind this year. I had heard so many bad things about it (before any of this 2021 love), and I got off of it and was like….I think this is in my top 15. The FORCES were insane. The grey out and airtime was pretty unexpected.

I got 2 rides on it this year the first ride was the negatives that people complain about the roughness, but my second ride was really enjoyable upon preparing for that roughness so much that I barely felt it

Been fun coming to the end of my 1st year as an enthusiast. I started my own rankings, but only counting coasters I rode as an enthusiast (54 this year). I have to say comparing my list to other youtubers mine seems to follow closest to yours. Awesome seeing love for Rip Ride Rockit. Here was my Top 10 (Lightning Rod was closed when I went to Dollywood otherwise i'm sure it would have been in the top 5)

Love to see cheetah hunt love, that ride is so damn fun. I’ve ridden 98 coasters and it still ranks #2 for me with lightning rod at Dollywood being the only one that beats it for me!
@@carsonholley136 You just really had to rub in Lighting Rod didn't ya! lol. I love Cheetah Hunt but I haven't actually ridden it since I've rode Velocicoaster and it will fall out of my top 10 for sure after Iron Gwazi. I was there for the day they reopened Cheetah Hunt after the paint job. I was there at rope drop trying to be on the first train, but of course while I was the first person to make it to Cheetah Hunt after the park opened, it had broken down during testing and didn't end up opening until later in the afternoon. By that time I had given up and went back to Islands of Adventure and rode Velocicoaster instead.
Ok so I thought the same thing about maverick. I was like what is all the hype for? Then I rode it back row at night… let’s say that changed my options pretty crazily. CP is my home park so I’ve seen all the coasters on there good and bad days, maverick is one of the best.
