The weird thing is that coming into 2022, I wasn’t a huge Airtime Thrills person, but my brother was. Now at the end of the year, I’m watching you way more than he is!
He was two days early with me. I met him on December 23rd at Magic Mountain. Super nice guy. Didn't seem annoyed with me or my sister's rambling, and had no qualms about taking a picture with me (i just had him walk into frame so I wouldn't touch him).
Wow Chris… The spots with Iron Gwazi, Velocicoaster, and having Wicked Cyclone is gonna shock some people but I can respect it cause I love the full force Wicked Cyclone give its riders in the layout.
Yeah, I really like wicked cyclone. Rode it opening year and most years since but it just doesn't have the enough to beat out a lot of coasters IMO. Wicked Cyclone is 21 on my list of steel coasters. Still pretty high though, I have been on a lot.
Great list- can't wait to ride many of these! I'm late, but here's my top 50 (out of 99): 50. Georgia Scorcher - Fun and intense, and the stand up experience makes it much more memorable. 49. Mine Blower - Good airtime and intensity, but gets rougher every time... 48. Dare Devil Dive - Has some intense moments and the drop and roll are great fun. 47. Backlot Stunt Coaster (KI) - Pretty good family thrill coaster. Has a decent launch, intense spiral, and a fun dark section. I just wish the "show" section was more interesting. 46 - Invertigo - Very intense and there's some headbanging, but it's not bad. Drops are fun as well. I wish it could get new restrains that eliminate headbanging, but I don't want another Goliath to happen... 45. Cobra's Curse - Great family coaster that does some unique things with the spinning cars. Wish it were longer! ----. Space Mountain (Omega) - Same coaster, so I don't count it as a separate credit, but different track with a different experience. The Omega side was somewhat shaky and not as enjoyable as the Alpha side. 44. The Racer (KI) - Smooth and fun. The racing adds to the experience. Rode both sides but they were pretty much the same. Unfortunate that the lap bars staple you during the ride. 43. Tigris - Short, but fun and unique. 42. Flight of Fear (KI) - Great launch and first inversions, and also finishes strong. Shakes like crazy though and stops you halfway through. Remove these flaws, and this coaster would be much better. 41. Kumba - Intense and whippy, but rattles your brains out. A smooth Kumba would be awesome! 40. Galaxy Spin - 100x better than regular wild mice. The spinning is chaotic and very fun. 39. Kraken - Intense and the floorless feature adds to the experience. About as rough as Kumba though. Make it smooth, and Kraken will rise up the ranks! 38. Space Mountain (Alpha) - Had a lot more fun with this side, as it was very smooth. Feels kind of like an indoor wild mouse. Holds up to this day. 37. Journey to Atlantis (SWO) - Very enjoyable hybrid dark ride/coaster/water ride. Theming is cool, and the drops are great. 36. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts - An impressive dark ride with a little coaster sprinkled in. 35. Tennessee Tornado - Short, but sweet. Every element pops and doesn't beat you up. 34. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster - By far my favorite alpine coaster. It's very long and feels like you're flying. A night ride is a must! 33. FireChaser Express - Long and fun family coaster, and my favorite one by far. Launches, backwards, show section, twists, and even a little airtime makes for a great ride. 32. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit - Smooth* and unique. The weird elements and song selection are great additions that make it stand out. I did have one bumpy ride, so not every row is smooth. Drop is awesome in the back. 31. Revenge of the Mummy (USO) - Great theming and also quite fun. Not very intense, but fun. 30. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (HS) - My favorite dark coaster as of now. Great launch, good speed, cool theme, and intense inversions. It's also not rough like Flight of Fear is. 29. Expedition Everest - My favorite Disney coaster. Long, good theming, smooth, goes backwards, and has some pretty intense moments for a Disney coaster. 28. Wild Eagle - Good drop and great inversions that are more graceful than intense, which isn't a bad thing. The rest of the ride is lacking, though. 27. Superman Ultimate Flight (SFOG) - I love the flying experience, and Superman delivers a good one. That pretzel loop is great and also smoother than Manta's. 26. Nighthawk - Was very smooth in the front, but rougher in the back. Has a great setting and some fun elements, like the loop. 25. SheiKra - Somewhat rough, but very enjoyable. Great drops and good Immelmann as well. The wind in the front is great. 24. Batman the Ride (SFOG) - Very intense, smooth, and whippy invert. Short, but any longer and it might be too much to handle! 23. Afterburn - Didn't feel as intense as Batman, but was a longer and faster ride. Front row was very fun. 22. Ice Breaker - I really enjoyed this unique coaster. Has lots of airtime and launching back and forth is a great time. I rode a bunch in the morning when there was no one in line. 21. White Lightning - My original favorite coaster. Still very fun with some nice pops and twists. 20. Thunderhead - Rougher than White Lightning, but longer and faster. The couch seats help a lot. Can we get these on every GCI? 19. Mystic Timbers - Basically a crazier White Lightning. Loads of fun. Shed could be better but it didn't have to exist. 18. The Beast - Hardly any airtime, but is very long and crazy fast. Helix is intense as well. It's also pretty smooth since the retrack. A night ride is a must do! 17. Banshee - Was impressed with this often low-ranked invert. It was intense and the rattle didn't bother me. Drop was also great and the final roll is a very nice touch. 16. Montu - Barely over Banshee as my favorite invert, Montu is the complete package. Lots of speed, intensity, and trenches! 15. Cheetah Hunt - A long, fast, and unique ride. The focus on speed and turns makes it a very fun ride for me. Try front row at night; great experience. The boost launches could be stronger though. 14. Mystery Mine - I really loved this wacky coaster. The little dips and turns are fun, and prep you for the big finale, which is awesome. Back row is better, there's less change of hitting your neck on the restraints. 13. Twisted Cyclone - My first RMC! Don't sleep on this little ride, it hits hard! The drops in the back is awesome, and the airtime delivers. The inversions are whippy and fun. It's short, but I never leave thinking it's missing something. 12. Copperhead Strike - This unique coaster surprised me. The launches are weak, but everything else bites. The airtime, hangtime, and intensity were all great and delivered a complete package. 11. Incredible Hulk Coaster - My favorite B&M looper. The launch adds a lot, and the inversions are all intense and very good. The music also adds to the experience. 10. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure - It may not be that intense, but the fun factor is off the charts. Great long layout with 7 launches, a backwards section, and a surprise I won't spoil for those who still haven't ridden it, all while telling a story. 9. Manta - Delivers a dreamlike flying experience. Pretzel loop can be rough, but it's still great. The rest is smooth and graceful. 8. Intimidator - I had a lot of fun with Intrimidator. Finale is a little weak but still enjoyable. I'll have to try the back row next time. 7. Iron Gwazi - Weird spot for now, as I rode twice, once in the morning. The morning ride was pretty weak, but the evening ride was nuts. It's hard to rank a crazy coaster after just one (good) ride, so here it awkwardly sits until I reride it. 6. Diamondback - I didn't like it as much as people say, but I also didn't try the back. Still, it had all that airtime goodness I was looking for. 5. Orion - A super fun coaster, especially in the front. The Orion's Belt is a good intensity mixup, something even Fury doesn't have. Add a couple more elements and this could've been my favorite coaster! 4. Mako - An addictive hyper with strong airtime. Ending is somewhat weak, but still enjoyable in the front due to the wind. 3. Goliath - FRONT ONLY. Every other row is very rough. Such a good ride with some very strong airtime for a hyper, and a great helix mixup. 2. Lightning Rod - Good launch, great speed, awesome elements, legendary airtime. 1. Fury 325 - A great long ride with tons of speed, then airtime in the 2nd half. Missing some positive g's though-- that helix is a dead section. May not be my #1 if it weren't for the front row being so insane... the wind is almost too much to handle! Thanks for reading! Leave your lists below if you'd like!
My daughters favorite is Diamonback and she was exited to see it in the top 10! We have only been to KI and Dollywood so far, next year we're hitting up KD, Carowinds, and CP, along with KY Kingdom and Holiday world.
Happy Holidays bro...Hope you and your family are enjoying each other and your blessings! Thank you for providing us with this...Coasters and Parks are a form of therapy for some of us so it means a lot more than you know. Heading to Orlando in T-Minus 6 days to hit BGT, Universal, and Sea World all first time trips for me (except Universal, we were there in 2020, No Velocicoaster and Hulk wasn't open) So I'm finally checking off some Florida bucket list credits🎉🎉
@@AirtimeThrills Quick update, I know you're probably won't see this and have better things to do but just wanted to let you know how my trip went. Long story short Gwazi is way overrated and you rank it exactly where it should be IMO, it might even be a little lower than that, definitely can't even compare 2 Steel Vengeance it's way too short, as soon as it gets going it ends! VelociCoaster is top 5 definitely, WOW HOLY CRAP NEXT LEVEL IN EVERY WAY IM ALMOST SPEECHLESS Intamin is the very best and Velocicoaster proved that! Incredible Hulk was NUTS!!? SO INTENSE for a B&M so another awesome surprise! Hagrid's of course another notch in Intamins champion chip belt, themeing goes w/o saying the drop track and 7 launches...SMH phenomenal, this was my 3rd ride on Hagrid's but it gets better every time.... and then MONTU is the best B&M invert in the US, Mako gives DB a run for it's money, IDK i love DiamondBack but Mako gave amazing floater especially at night in the back row WOW, and the pacing on Mako felt remarkable at night! Shiekra was closed, but Mantas, while amazing and definitely a champion contender, DID NOT surpass Tatsu imo, Tatsu's view, height, and intensity give it the SLIGHT advantage for best flyer in the US but Mantas theming, and splash down elements near the water along with it's pacing are world class.... Kraken, Kumba, Cheetah Hunt, Tigris, Icebreaker, The Mummy, all the Harry Potter dark rides, Spider man etc...etc... Orlando, for it's Coaster lineup, just made me seriously approach my wife about moving 🤣 and We live in Ohio 40 mins from Cedar Point, 2.5 hrs from Kings Island, and 4hrs from Hershey Park so I'm in a pretty strong Coaster spot myself but wow....
I need to get a ride on TMNT Shellraiser like one that you had because that was the worst new credit out of ~50 new credits I got this year. It's a great layout and I love the holding brake at the top of the shaky tower, but the rest gave me far too much of a headache from the rattle to take in any of the positive factors of that ride. Luckily Sandy's Blasting Bronco was great for me and easily re-rideable.
Glad to see Montu on the list. I remember riding in 1996 when I was 8 years old. First attempt to go on it I stood in the queue with my mum all the way to the front before I chickened out and had to run back out to my dad. My mum went on alone and when I seen her walk out unscathed...I made her join the queue all over again and 2nd time of asking...I nailed it and have loved rollercoasters ever since.
Surprised to see Griffon on here, but it’s well deserved! Great to see such a hated-on model get some positive attention for its great ride experience.
I'm still 100% convinced that you're just messing with us on your RRR ranking and eventually you'll laugh at everyone for actually believing it's in your top 25. We rode it a few weeks ago & I told my wife where you rank it and she thinks you're crazy! It's a solid top 50 other than RRR, Magnum XL (she thinks you're crazy on that one too) and Goliath SFOG being above Mako. Happy New Year.
I'm so happy to see the Phoenix so high on the list. I've been going to Knoebels my whole life and that coaster, as well as the park as a whole, have a special place in my heart. There's a lot of other coasters that do much more, but the Phoenix was my first and will always be my number one 🧡
I love seeing Monster's placement! My rides on Nitro in 2019, 2021, & 2022 were all hauling. It's my 3rd favorite B&M hyper, and I've always defended it also. A year ago, I said that Lightning Rod was sluggish on all 10 of my rides, which is true, but something was strange on that visit. I got back there a month ago, and Lightning Rod was running faster and better than ever. It's moving back into my top 10.
I hope Six Flags New England gets a new coaster. My preference would be a compact GCI woody with a launch on the plot where Goliath used to be. It would simultaneously fill the launch and wood coaster gaps while playing into the Wild West theme of Crack Axle Canyon.
Always love your lists! Can't wait to get on Steel Vengeance (haven't been to Cedar Point in YEARS), and was surprised to see Wicked Cyclone ahead of Twisted Timbers, the only 2 RMCs we've been on (we loved both, but in my memory, TT was more fun....but what do I know?).... El Toro being so high is appreciated as it was always my fave but I haven't been on it in years either. And Velocicoaster....just PERFECTION! Those restraints are so comfortable! Keep all these lists coming, we love it!
I can totally see why people put TT over WiCy. WiCy just seems a little more diverse while still being powerful in the first 2 laps, and in 2021 it even carried some power into the last lap which was a nice change. Definitely agree with Velocicoaster restraints too, perfection.
I too rode Monster this year (my first time), and have to agree with your placement. It's an amazing ride and blew away my already high expectations. As for Renegade, it was running slower and rougher this year compared to last year, so I had to put Monster ahead of it. Hopefully it gets retracked soon.
Wicked cyclone was my first RMC earlier this year, and it completely revitalized my love for coasters. I’ve been on it almost 30 times now, and I keep keep loving it more and more
Chris your content is the best. I look forward to the great content you post. I think your list is very strong and can't wait to get to that amazing coaster credit count. I am currently at 208 credits. Here is my current top 50. 1. Fury 325 2. Millennium Force 3. Lightning Rod 4. Velocicoaster 5. I305 6. Iron Gwazi 7. Steel Vengeance 8. The Hulk 9. Ghostrider 10. Xcelerator 11. Storm Runner 12. Montu 13. Twisted Timbers 14. Diamondback 15. Cannibal 16. Dueling Dragons Pyrock 17. Feirenhiet 18. Copperhead Strike 19. Tatsu 20. Top Thrill Dragster 21. Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure 22. Gatekeeper 23. Manta 24. Phantoms Revenge 25. Wild Eagle 26. Alpengeist 27. X2 28. Thunderhead 29. Dragon Challenge Blizzrock 30. Nitro 31. Mako 32. Intimidator 33. Steel Curtain 34. Raptor 35. Valrvn 36. Magnum XL200 37. Maverick 38. Banshee 39. Apollo's Chariot 40. Apocalypse 41. Afterburn 42. Tremors 43. Griffon 44. Thunderbolt 45. Sheikra 46. Kraken 47. Candymonium 48. Silverbullet 49. Mystery Mine 50. California Screamin
Love to see a fellow Magnum XL fan. I'm the only one in my family who will even ride it when we go. 😆 Still one of my favorites though. (93 credits). Great video too. 👏😁
I bet he would put Zadra over SV because of its superior pacing. His top three are all pacing monsters so I'm guessing Zadra would beat it, depends on if the pacing is enough to make up for the shorter ride time
Yo Happy holidays bro I’ve been supporting your channel for a long time to see Goliath shoot up to #15 is amazing.-Unfortunately this is now my number 2 coaster after going to bush gardens but this coaster will always hold a special place in my heart.
I feel blessed. I rode Diamondback 11 times this year and I never felt a bit of rattle. Same with Banshee. I always hear those rides have a rattle, some even say rough. I must be lucky because I've never noticed.... Then again, my home park is Michigan's Adventure. This year I rode Shivering Timbers 86 times, Wolverine Wildcat 30 times and Thunderhawk more than I will admit in public. So I could be immune to rattle at this point 😆
Ride back row on Diamondback, especially on green train, and you will know the rattle. I usually ride it 5 times in a day, and you can definitely tell there's a rattle. Red train is the one with the least, but it's still there. You've got to be sitting in the back though. If you're up front, you'll never notice it. I don't know what people are talking about when they say Banshee is rough though.
My first ride on rip ride rock it was this year, and I loved it! Yes the trims can kind of mess with the experience, but on some of them you get great airtime diving off them into drops. Loved the elements, near misses, how close you get to some paths, and of course blasting the beastie boys. Happy to see I'm not the only thoosie that loved it
I went to Dollywood for the first time but sadly Lightning Rod was not open. So looked at the pov and it looked amazing. But I at least got to ride wild eagle, fire chaser express, Tennessee Tornado and Mystery Mine. I was really surprised on the Disney level theming on Mystery Mine.
Solid reasoning all around. Went to BGT for the first time a couple weeks ago and I think I got shafted of some good rides. Not sure if it was my experience with the park in general that the coasters seemed off or it was something else, but Montu was straight up boring and Iron Gwazi underperformed (though still great, not anywhere near my top 10). Must’ve been a bad day cuz that park is the worst run/maintained park I’ve ever seen. Little desire to return but surely I just had an unlucky day and need some rerides.
I appreciate your love for Diamondback! Kings Island’s my home park so I get to ride it all the time! Personally it’s in the bottom half of my hypers, probably because I’ve been accustomed to the elements. It’s still a fantastic ride tho!
I love the list! I’ve only ridden just under 100 coasters, but I’m currently making trips and will increase that by 100 next year. I gotta ask, why is I-305 not in the your top 50? I mean you have MF, Orion, and Leviathan in the top 50 and I think I-305 is better than all 3 of those?
I’m looking forward to seeing how Steel Vengeance and Pantheon shake up my top lists. And I’m so glad to see Twisted Timbers moving up in your rankings. Every time I ride it, it gets better. Happy holidays to you and your family!
Finally someone else who appreciates Diamondback, my #1 favorite overall coaster out of 220 I’ve been on. I think you may be the only UA-cam enthusiast that has it in their top 10. Best floater airtime I’ve ever experienced. Now I have to very much disagree with Maverick’s placement being so low though, that’s my #3 overall 😂
Nice list! I wonder how it'll change when you ride some stuff outside North America. Do you have any plans to visit international parks in the next few years? I know it can be pricey.
Bummer you missed Yukon Striker. Opened in 2019. Glad you have included Behemoth and Leviathan. Really fun looking coasters. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Great list as always! Not much movement up top. Iron Gwazi is my #2 and Pantheon is my #10. I thought both new rides were great! Steel Vengeance still my #1 as well. Looking forward to 2023 and the new RMC's and the fact I may go international for the first time for coasters.
Good list, Chris. I like how your opinions change each year. I've currently ridden 21 out of the 50 on your list, but my count is at 203. I am also very excited to ride ArieForce One! Fun Spot is only about 35 minutes from my house, so I know I'll be riding it a lot! Let me know when you come because I've always wanted to meet you (and even Sophie).
Sophie top 20?? I know she did one not too long ago, but she has gone on alot since then. I love her opinions. Like calling Fury 325 boring! That's gold.
Lol im happy you have Ripride Rocket so high, I rode it 6 times this year on my trip and every ride I'd come off with a huge smile. They had no trim brakes on the 2nd hill and back row was getting major airtime!
It's amazing how you can keep track of all these 100+ roller coasters and where you'd rank them. I can tell you that my favorite is Millennium Force at Cedar Point followed by Superman: The Ride at Six Flags New England but that's it.
Once you get a super head shattering ride on Raptor, you're gonna take it out of your top 50 😂somehow you get smooth rides which is not possible for me. I feel like I got a concussion off of it.
Presumably with the caveat of no family/kiddie coasters (unless they somehow fail at _being_ family/kiddie coasters--looking at you, Pegasus), because those tend to get low rankings by default. A list full of kiddie coasters doesn't really make for an interesting list.
Goliath at Over Georgia flies when they have to stop the ride on the lift(for people having phone out). They have to speed up the lift hill to get back into the station faster i guess? The airtime and helix is way more forceful. Just hope you get someone that wants to have their phone out and a ride op that actually cares!
I rode X2 in the back row, I was bracing myself for roughness, but to my surprise, it was smoother than Goliath. The worst pain was when I hit my leg on the train while the seats were flipping, but still love it!
The crazy thing is, Chris, is that I finally got back to riding rollercoasters this year and I managed to get back to Kings Island. Next month I go down to Florida and Velocicoaster is HIGH on my priority list. I’d love to ride Iron Gwazi but we just couldn’t manage a stop at Busch Gardens Tampa to get a ride in, so unfortunately I get to miss out on that RMC. Hopefully in 2024 I can correct that by riding Storm Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom or Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point, and hopefully I get another day at Kings Island. I personally didn’t enjoy my ride on Mystic Timbers this year, admittedly I never rode it before and while I enjoyed the airtime on it, the way that at times it felt like I was slolam skiing just rubbed me the wrong way. But what I can say is that 2023 is likely the last time I’ll ever ride The Beast. I still love it, still like the legendary factor, but I just got beat up too much on the second half during the helix. I LOVED Diamondback, and it knocked everything off my personal list to make it my #1 coaster.
@@AirtimeThrills I thought the retracking altered the first drop degree and the first part of the coaster but didn’t change the helix. I could be wrong, that was my understanding though. When I discussed it with my Mom, a lifelong fan, she said I rode it in the wrong place, which was 5th car, back third seats. Maybe I did. All I know was that after riding The Beast, my outer thighs hurt and continued to for about 3-4 days afterwards. But I still love and respect it.
Steve is my number one as well! It is incredible; great layout, tons of ejector, both sustained and quick, perfect tracking, and awesome all around forces. It is a top tier RMC, only rivaled by Gwazi, Zadra, Hakugei, and maybe Lrod or Arieforce One. Keep up the great work though, this video was great!
@@itsKegger yeah I agree with that. I could maybe see it beating Wicked Cyclone, but I doubt it will be able to rival Gwazi or Steve. I guess only time will tell!
Wicked cyclone is at my home park and I agree it is a great ride, but I am riding Iron Gwazi in a couple weeks and cant wait to see how it stacks up after seeing your rankings!!
As someone who hasn't been to any American parks outside of Disney and Universal Fl, it's cool to see you rank Velocicoaster so highly. Greatly enjoyed my 4 rides on it when I was there earlier this year and easily the best coaster I've ridden, much as I love Nemesis.
I definitely agree with Sophie on Fury. Maybe it was just how it was running on the day I visited, but it really just seemed like a longer and rougher version of Orion. It's not an awful ride, but I really don't get ranking it over Diamondback, let alone Velocicoaster.
Great list! Fury is technically my 2nd place too even though I say it’s tied for first and Copperhead Strike is my #1 but I have yet to ride Steel Vengeance so it may change.
I rode El Toro this year when it was open and it felt even more intense than usual. Some of the turns felt like it was gonna compress my spine. Still probably my top woodie, but I don't think I could reride it.
I’ve already given chris my top ten coasters in a different comment on a video but in case somebody is reading this 👋 here you go 1. iron gwazi 2. Montu 3. Kumba 4. mind eraser (elitches) 5. SheriKra 6. Sidewinder 7. cheetah hunt 8. Silver bullet 9. Cobras curse 10. Half pipe As someone who isn’t old enough to drive (yet) I can’t really travel but some parks I hope to get to in 2023 are Universal (haven’t been there since Hagrid’s was under construction back when I was scared of coaster) Disney world (never been there) Sea world Orlando (haven’t been there since 2015, I was small, also pipeline is opening so theres another reason) Fun spot (never been to both) Legoland florida (have all the credits, loved that place when I was a child, peps pig is next door with a new credit) Magic springs (one of my mom’s friends wants to go there a lot so hopefully I can join him) Happy holidays airtime thrills and happy new year 🥳
I have wicked cyclone in my home park. I've ridden wicked cyclone a lot, but I've never been to other parks. It's crazy to think that I've already been on one of the best coasters in the world without knowing it.
Same story as #51-100, I've ridden 35 of these with ~200 fewer credits (but 22 of the top 25) - my next trips I'm planning for are KD/BGW, SFDC/CGA, and SFOG/FSA...that would get me more than half of the ones I haven't ridden. I wasn't overly impressed with Storm Chaser and Lightning Run during my 1 visit to Kentucky Kingdom...it was a pretty hectic day, so I don't feel like I was able to fully take in the ride experience; I need to get back there one of these days and give them another few rides. Steel Eel I think is generally very underrated, nice to see it on this list - I was super impressed by it. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit I had a great first ride in the front row - the rest of my family rode it (in the back) and hated it. I went for a back row ride and it was way rougher than the front, which really killed the ride experience for me too. Also it didn't help that I missed getting my song choice in time and so I got randomly assigned one before climbing the lift hill.
@@AirtimeThrills yes, proof that personal preference, age, body, etc. are just some of the reasons why people's lists will vary so much! Except for Steel Vengeance, it's a fact that it's #1 in the world
why? It was painful as heck! Not trying to be a hater but it had me searching for pain pills and almost ruined my thighs in the third row. Is there something to love about needing to see a chiropractor after a ride? I think nostalgia-wise yes, great lift hill, seems like an endless lift hill, but other than that there are literally no lines ever for it. Its a very painful experience.
we have the same top 3 RMCs Except mine are Wicked Cyclone #1 overall. Iron Gwazi #2 overall Steel Vengeance #8 overall..honestly, all my rides on SteVe were looking over at Maverick(#5 overall) and wishing it had shorter lines. Wicked Cyclone has somehow gotten faster since the pandemic shutdown. I wouldnt have it anywhere in my top 10 pre-pandemic. Now the whole thing rides like a turbo charged version of Steel Vengeance's second half
Appreciate that others feel the same way I do about Diamondback. I still need to ride Candymonium, which I doubt will surpass it, but otherwise, it’s the best B&M hyper in America. Shambhala may be the one that is better, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get to ride it.
I can see where Sophie is coming from with Fury 325 it was built as a speed machine over anything else so mostly what you feel on that ride is the wind blasting your face throughout
Thanks for your rankings. What kind of personal enhancements should I indulge in to see how Hollywood: Rip, Ride, Rockit is possibly a top 25 ride? No matter what seat, train, song choice, and level of inebriation; I don't see it.
love iron rattler with all my heart and glad to see it make top 25 with so many other great coasters like millenium force super close to it in its ranking
Of the 133 coasters I've ridden: my top 25 are 25: Medusa at SFGA back car; 24: Kinda Ka front car 23: TMT Shellraiser; 22: Tatsu Back car; 21: Maverick in the middle car; 20: Goliath at SFGA back car; (my 5th favourite wooden coaster and smoothest, with only slight jackhammering after the 1st record breaking trough speed)19: Yukon Striker in the front or back car 18: Jersey Devil back car; 17: The Smiler front or back car; 16: Icon in the front or back car; 15: Raptor back car; (the coaster on my list most likely to make grey out by the time I enter the EBR in the back row due to its record breaking prime ride time full of positive Gs) 14: TTD: 1st row or back car; 13: X2 back car inside seat either side; 12: Riddler's Revenge back car; 11: Gatekeeper back car; 10: Twisted Colossus back car; 9: Coaster at Playland through Halloween 2020 back or front car; (two different experiences both degraded beyond this list since); 8: Nitro back car; 7: Ghostrider back car; 6: Raging Bull: back car; 5: El Toro row 17 (a li'l' rough for a 52 year old May 30th through June 2nd 2022 during my 1st visit there since August 1981 after having opened since the 2021 incident but before having closed in the August 202 incident when I was only 11, but it's MUCH better than Rolling Thunder which I though was shitty at the age of 11; and I still put it above Nitro and Raging bull, albeit slightly; but I digress); 4: The Cyclone at Coney Island at Luna Beach Brooklyn NYC in row 10 or 12; 3: Millennium Force back car; 2: Behemoth back car; 1: Steel Vengeance back car. My top 20 bucket list coasters are in 10 different countries, and they are Red Force; Eejanaika; Intimidator 305; Python in Bamboo Forest; Mountain Flyer Wood Coaster; T- Express; Katun; Helix; Wildfire in Sweden; Karnan; Hyperion; Zadra; F.L.I.; D.C. Rivals; Diamondback; Iron Gwazi; Ride to Happiness; Velocicoaster; Fury 325 and The Voyage. I love your 2022 top 25; thanks for posting!
I've always been at odds with people over ranking coasters because I start rating it the moment I enter the line. Steel Vengeance is a great coaster but I can't help holding its hour and a half wait time against it. According to the data on Cedars website I can ride Magnum four times before I'd get on Steel Vengeance once. Time value is a part of my calculation in a big way. I'd love to see a ranking video on coasters with value factored in.
This Channel is definitely has the best coaster content right now cant wait for what you have for 2023.

The weird thing is that coming into 2022, I wasn’t a huge Airtime Thrills person, but my brother was. Now at the end of the year, I’m watching you way more than he is!
Nice! Tell your brother to step up his game now
You’re a day late with my Christmas Present!

Shut bro he needed to take a day off
@@lightingproductions3180 possibly that person was making a joke…
He was two days early with me. I met him on December 23rd at Magic Mountain. Super nice guy. Didn't seem annoyed with me or my sister's rambling, and had no qualms about taking a picture with me (i just had him walk into frame so I wouldn't touch him).

Wow Chris… The spots with Iron Gwazi, Velocicoaster, and having Wicked Cyclone is gonna shock some people but I can respect it cause I love the full force Wicked Cyclone give its riders in the layout.
Wicked Cyclone and Velocicoaster proves speed and height records are not needed to be an elite coaster
Yeah, I really like wicked cyclone. Rode it opening year and most years since but it just doesn't have the enough to beat out a lot of coasters IMO. Wicked Cyclone is 21 on my list of steel coasters. Still pretty high though, I have been on a lot.
As Much As I Love Wicked Cyclone Its Not A Top 20 For Me Personally
Thanks for telling us your top 100 & 50 every year, it's always fun to see what has changed in your rankings!
Great list- can't wait to ride many of these! I'm late, but here's my top 50 (out of 99):
@Fattyfish7 Haven't been to SFGAd yet
My daughters favorite is Diamonback and she was exited to see it in the top 10! We have only been to KI and Dollywood so far, next year we're hitting up KD, Carowinds, and CP, along with KY Kingdom and Holiday world.
Glad to see that you are ranking goliath so high. Its personally my favorite b&m hyper, and more people need to get on it.
yeah, but hyper are overrated
Happy Holidays bro...Hope you and your family are enjoying each other and your blessings! Thank you for providing us with this...Coasters and Parks are a form of therapy for some of us so it means a lot more than you know. Heading to Orlando in T-Minus 6 days to hit BGT, Universal, and Sea World all first time trips for me (except Universal, we were there in 2020, No Velocicoaster and Hulk wasn't open) So I'm finally checking off some Florida bucket list credits🎉🎉
I did the same parks in November. To my surprise, BGT was both me and my wife’s favorite park despite Iron Gwazi being closed both days we were there
Awesome, its the best time of the year to hit Florida. I did the 2nd week of January in 2012 and it was great albeit a little cold
same, I’m going to uni and bgt
Orlando, for it's Coaster lineup, just made me seriously approach my wife about moving 🤣 and
We live in Ohio 40 mins from Cedar Point, 2.5 hrs from Kings Island, and 4hrs from Hershey Park so I'm in a pretty strong Coaster spot myself but wow....
I rode Steel Vengeance for the first time this summer and I can say that It was so good that I had really high expectations and it still beat them.
Same!!!!
Man. I thought I had been hurt badly before but Montu below Hollywood RRR? I feel like I lost a child it hurt so bad.
Thunderbolt: Am I a joke to you?
@@katherinezimmerman6997 *looks at thunderbolt
You are.
I was so excited for this merry Christmas!
This list is mine. All of the hot takes. STV and Hollywood RRR. Your placements were spot on to my takes. I need to ride El Toro and Voyage. 🤝
HRRR crew for life
I too rode Monster this year (my first time), and have to agree with your placement. It's an amazing ride and blew away my already high expectations. As for Renegade, it was running slower and rougher this year compared to last year, so I had to put Monster ahead of it. Hopefully it gets retracked soon.
Love how high you rank Wicked Cyclone! Lots of people prefer Superman at SFNE, which is also an amazing ride, but I'll take WC any day
Wicked cyclone was my first RMC earlier this year, and it completely revitalized my love for coasters. I’ve been on it almost 30 times now, and I keep keep loving it more and more

I like your top 50! You think anything could beat your #1?
I think absolutely yes...just not sure that coaster currently exists
@@AirtimeThrills nice! I was thinking something like Eejanaika or Zadra could maybe beat Steel Vengeance
@ airtime thrills there’s a coaster in Europe called ride to happiness. I think that will beat steel vengeance
@@andressantamarina569 that looks insane as well. It’s coaster dash’s #1
It seems to just be getting better
Loved hearing your updated list. Have a great holiday season!
That Zippin Pippin ranking is awesome!! Still a ride I could ride 50+ every year and it still rides amazing
Great list, Chris! I couldn’t imagine ranking my top 100. (I’ve only ridden 100 coasters.)
Here’s my top 15:

2. Phoenix (Knoebels)
3. Steel Vengeance
4. Phantom’s Revenge
5. Storm Chaser
6. Lightning Run

8. Mystic Timbers
9. Skyrush
10. Voyage
11. Diamondback (KI)
12. Candymonium
13. Maverick
14. Millennium Force
15. Blue Streak (Conneaut)
My first ride on rip ride rock it was this year, and I loved it! Yes the trims can kind of mess with the experience, but on some of them you get great airtime diving off them into drops. Loved the elements, near misses, how close you get to some paths, and of course blasting the beastie boys. Happy to see I'm not the only thoosie that loved it
It's always a good day when airtime thrills uploads!
I love that Zippin Pippin is in your top 50! Great list!
Great video! I enjoyed watching!
Great job keeping the quality of your content so high while pumping out so many videos.
Hope you will soon visit Europe! I'm very curious where you will put the coasters in Germany, Holland, England, Spain and Belgium
I will get to Europe (likely) but not those countries this year
Nothing is more serious than your top 50 coaster count 😂
Solid reasoning all around. Went to BGT for the first time a couple weeks ago and I think I got shafted of some good rides. Not sure if it was my experience with the park in general that the coasters seemed off or it was something else, but Montu was straight up boring and Iron Gwazi underperformed (though still great, not anywhere near my top 10). Must’ve been a bad day cuz that park is the worst run/maintained park I’ve ever seen. Little desire to return but surely I just had an unlucky day and need some rerides.
I definitely understand IG underperforming. Glad I got on it when it was rockin again
Nice list! Can certainly agree that Iron Gwazi is slow in the morning, but once it's warmed up it's elite. Borderline top 5 coaster.
Im happy to see someone respect twisted cyclone its the best ride at my home park
Yes
I appreciate your love for Diamondback! Kings Island’s my home park so I get to ride it all the time! Personally it’s in the bottom half of my hypers, probably because I’ve been accustomed to the elements. It’s still a fantastic ride tho!
Happy to see Joker get some love, super underrated coaster.
Do you have any plans on going to Europe?
I actually do have a plan to get to the Scandinavian countries this year
@@AirtimeThrills how are you gonna do that with only a fiew days left in 2022
I’m looking forward to seeing how Steel Vengeance and Pantheon shake up my top lists. And I’m so glad to see Twisted Timbers moving up in your rankings. Every time I ride it, it gets better. Happy holidays to you and your family!
Great Top 50. Love the content. Keep it up! Thank you!
I do, its very likely I'll be headed to Scandinavia this summer which have some contenders
I really thought IG would be top 5 but just couldnt crack the beasts up there
Watched this while waiting for Steel Eel. Was deserving of its spot on this list

railblazer has some of the most incredible ejector ever
Yes! It's finally here! Let's go
Diamondback in the middle of the thumbnail… i’m already excited lmao
Good list, Chris. I like how your opinions change each year. I've currently ridden 21 out of the 50 on your list, but my count is at 203. I am also very excited to ride ArieForce One! Fun Spot is only about 35 minutes from my house, so I know I'll be riding it a lot! Let me know when you come because I've always wanted to meet you (and even Sophie).
I really hope to get to fun spot for arie force, just dont know when thatll be possible
Sophie top 20?? I know she did one not too long ago, but she has gone on alot since then. I love her opinions. Like calling Fury 325 boring! That's gold.
Love your top 100, some unique choices and some obvious. Got to ride a lot of these this year as well.
I'd love to see you do a yearly ranking of your bottom 50 or 100. Not sure why, but it think it would be interesting.
we already know that big apple coaster is gonna be on there
Presumably with the caveat of no family/kiddie coasters (unless they somehow fail at _being_ family/kiddie coasters--looking at you, Pegasus), because those tend to get low rankings by default. A list full of kiddie coasters doesn't really make for an interesting list.
your videos are so good! keep up the good work
Lol amazing list and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket comes out of nowhere 🤣🤣
Thats funny about the beast since the finale just got a major rework last season
Thanks! Its gonna be hard to beat SteVe. Just so much quality and quantity
looking at Arieforce Ones POV, i cant see it beating SteVe, Wicked Cyclone or Iron Gwazi
@@meredithgauthier66 that’s awesome! New England is an awesome home park. Cyclone looks like an underrated rmc, but I hope you have fun on Gwazi!
Please come to Japan. Can't wait to see eejanaika, hakugei and flying dinosaur in your top 50s
Id love to but will probably hit some other countries before i end up in japan
Great list! Fury is technically my 2nd place too even though I say it’s tied for first and Copperhead Strike is my #1 but I have yet to ride Steel Vengeance so it may change.
Did I miss something or was there no I 305 or Ka on this list???
Raging Bull hanging in there! Love that ride. Wicked Cyclone over Iron Gwazi, should have kept that one for the 1st of April video lol.
Cant wait for the best of 2022 videos!
Love to watch these and see everyone’s opinions. My favorite is velocicoaster
I rode El Toro this year when it was open and it felt even more intense than usual. Some of the turns felt like it was gonna compress my spine. Still probably my top woodie, but I don't think I could reride it.
I’ve already given chris my top ten coasters in a different comment on a video but in case somebody is reading this 👋 here you go
1. iron gwazi
2. Montu
3. Kumba
4. mind eraser (elitches)
5. SheriKra
6. Sidewinder
7. cheetah hunt
8. Silver bullet
9. Cobras curse
10. Half pipe
As someone who isn’t old enough to drive (yet) I can’t really travel but some parks I hope to get to in 2023 are
Universal (haven’t been there since Hagrid’s was under construction back when I was scared of coaster)
Disney world (never been there)
Sea world Orlando (haven’t been there since 2015, I was small, also pipeline is opening so theres another reason)
Fun spot (never been to both)
Legoland florida (have all the credits, loved that place when I was a child, peps pig is next door with a new credit)
Magic springs (one of my mom’s friends wants to go there a lot so hopefully I can join him)
Happy holidays airtime thrills and happy new year 🥳
I have wicked cyclone in my home park. I've ridden wicked cyclone a lot, but I've never been to other parks. It's crazy to think that I've already been on one of the best coasters in the world without knowing it.
Definitely agree with Sophie that intimidator is the best b&m at carowinds!
no
Same story as #51-100, I've ridden 35 of these with ~200 fewer credits (but 22 of the top 25) - my next trips I'm planning for are KD/BGW, SFDC/CGA, and SFOG/FSA...that would get me more than half of the ones I haven't ridden.
Interesting they hated it in the back, that's where i had my ridiculously good ride
@@AirtimeThrills yes, proof that personal preference, age, body, etc. are just some of the reasons why people's lists will vary so much! Except for Steel Vengeance, it's a fact that it's #1 in the world
17:22 pause. Great list! Dying to get a ride on steel vengeance! Thus far, Velocicoaster is my #1.
Best Christmas present. Hope you and yours are doing well, brother
As always, we both agree on Magnum superiority. It's still my favorite hyper
Would love to meet you if you make to Wonderland this year. Do you ever announce when you're specifically going to any given parks?
we have the same top 3 RMCs
Except mine are Wicked Cyclone #1 overall.
Iron Gwazi #2 overall
Steel Vengeance #8 overall..honestly, all my rides on SteVe were looking over at Maverick(#5 overall) and wishing it had shorter lines.
Well from my experience it was a back row ride that blew my socks off
love iron rattler with all my heart and glad to see it make top 25 with so many other great coasters like millenium force super close to it in its ranking
I haven’t been to many parks yet, but as it stands my top 3 are Fury 325, Lightning Rod and Pantheon. Looking to visit a lot more places in 2023
Of the 133 coasters I've ridden: my top 25 are 25: Medusa at SFGA back car; 24: Kinda Ka front car 23: TMT Shellraiser; 22: Tatsu Back car; 21: Maverick in the middle car; 20: Goliath at SFGA back car; (my 5th favourite wooden coaster and smoothest, with only slight jackhammering after the 1st record breaking trough speed)19: Yukon Striker in the front or back car 18: Jersey Devil back car; 17: The Smiler front or back car; 16: Icon in the front or back car; 15: Raptor back car; (the coaster on my list most likely to make grey out by the time I enter the EBR in the back row due to its record breaking prime ride time full of positive Gs) 14: TTD: 1st row or back car; 13: X2 back car inside seat either side; 12: Riddler's Revenge back car; 11: Gatekeeper back car; 10: Twisted Colossus back car; 9: Coaster at Playland through Halloween 2020 back or front car; (two different experiences both degraded beyond this list since); 8: Nitro back car; 7: Ghostrider back car; 6: Raging Bull: back car; 5: El Toro row 17 (a li'l' rough for a 52 year old May 30th through June 2nd 2022 during my 1st visit there since August 1981 after having opened since the 2021 incident but before having closed in the August 202 incident when I was only 11, but it's MUCH better than Rolling Thunder which I though was shitty at the age of 11; and I still put it above Nitro and Raging bull, albeit slightly; but I digress); 4: The Cyclone at Coney Island at Luna Beach Brooklyn NYC in row 10 or 12; 3: Millennium Force back car; 2: Behemoth back car; 1: Steel Vengeance back car.
Finally! Some love for Rip Ride Rocket!
If you ever come back to Canada’s Wonderland, you have to check out, Yukon Striker. It’s pretty insane.
I'm interested to hear your bottom 50. Also, love the content!
You don't have to back down on Wicked Cyclone--it's awesome.
I hear ya. This is why i usually have a better time on Magnum than Steel Vengeance. Such a pain to ride
