I remember when people just posted interesting videos on UA-cam. Now everything seems so strategic. I do UA-cam as a creative hobby, and I try to remember to have fun and hope others will enjoy my content.
I hear you @robinsnestradio
The difference here is that there are people out there that do UA-cam as something more than a creative hobby. For them those tips are worth a mint. 😊
I totally agree! This to me is for those that employees of UA-cam 😆😂
You don’t have to be strategic. It’s only important if you’re trying to grow faster.
@@NickNimmin Salute to all the great folks trying to make UA-cam their full time job. Respect due!👍🏾
Dont give up, to all the new youtuber, our time will come
I hadn't thought about creating "practice" videos as a way of building muscle memory. Thanks for sharing that!
Doing that helps me with streaming and being able to whip a video together without much mental prep.
Man this is one of the best videos I've seen as far as just giving practical, actionable things you can do EVERY DAY to help improve your channel. That's what has been missing for me. I keep feeling like I should do SOMETHING every day to help my channel grow and just understand it all better. I log on every day but I usually end up going down a rabbit hole full of "youtube guy videos" and spending a lot of time without learning a lot. This is an itemized list I can write down, post next to my desktop, log on and do every day. Thanks!
Excellent! I’m glad you found it useful!
I'm gonna add/contradict to your point about making something daily because if you share the thing to shorts (and other vertical platforms) you'll get additional data and feedback. By sitting on it, you get practice, but no data. You may also start to build an audience there too, so it's minimal risk.
Agreed. This was my experience. Posted my practice videos as shorts. They have contributed to bringing views, and building my audience while developing my skills.
Information sharing video update awesome thanks you so much
Nick, this is so helpful. People will say learn how to improve your thumbnails, etc, but not say how to actually do that. This video is like a mini masterclass! Grabbing notebook and watching again!
💯
👊 🤓
Thanks Nick for always helping us out. I learned so much from you in building my UA-cam Journey. Going into my first full year, monetized and 26 more to make 7K subscribers. It has been a roller coaster of a ride. I used so many of your tips, motivations and updates to steadily grow my page organically. Appreciate you Nick!
Dang I have double your total views and not even 1k subs.. 😔 hahaha UA-cam is crazy sometimes. Congrats on that many subs.
@@TritonTv69420 I had 2.2+ million originally but got demonetized for reused content. I had old stuff on there like a video of a concert and a softball game. I passed the first time but eventually the bot caught me. Fought real hard after several tries to get monetized getting turned down twice. I had to blow my channel pretty much to the bare bones and start all over.
Also, had to gain 4000 watch hours that took 3 months to rebuild. My watch hour will grow. changed up my niche and concentrating on my organic growth.
Thanks, it's slowing moving upwards.. Steady as she goes!
What do you mean, reused content? Was it your own content or someone else's?
@@OurOkieHomestead I recorded the first Halloween Horror Nights Jabbawockeez performance with my own camera. I think that was considered reused content because it was kinda like a concert. After deleting that, I was remonitzed again. But I did blow up my channel and deleted pretty much everything.
I must admit that our idea of releasing daily shorts was inspiration from finding another channel doing it in our niche… proof you’re absolutely right!
🤓👊
Your words struck a chord with me. I was about to give up, but you gave me the hope and strength to keep going. Thank you so much
Keep at it! 🤓👊
Hey Nick, over 2 years ago as I was starting my channel I used to watch your channel regularly and I'd follow your streams. On one of them you even reviewed my channel. I want to tell you that with your help I was able to grow my channel substantially and your tips have been extremely helpful. When you reviewed me, I had around 1k subs, and when I asked what I could do to optimize you said I was doing as well as can be and just to be patient. That patience wore off and now I'm at almost 180k. Thank you again for the videos you've made. Cheers!
Awesome! Congratulations on 180k and your overall success with the channel!
I started my UA-cam channel a few months ago and have followed a lot of your suggestion. Your channel is a gold mine!
Hey Nick. What a goldmine of a video. Pure dynamite and something to implement straight away. Great stuff and well done
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
You just got to love this channel for the consistent value it brings to us all. Thanks Nick you're the best 👌
🤓👊
Love this, Nick! Just starting out, and this month I’m working on getting right into the “teaching” part of my videos (vs. wasting time on an unnecessary intro at the start). 👍
I literally just wrote on the search: "Do these to grow on youtube" and this video showed. Thank you. Ill follow this advide.
taking time to research what works is a great tip

Great video Nick! Love this actionable advice, especially the daily habits speaks to me since I'm so used to it through my music and fitness pursuits. I also know that this actually gets results quicker over time, thanks again man:)
Glad it was helpful!
This is key, education on what you are doing. Yep, I look at everything everyday.
Thanks, Nick!
Utter class Nick. This is one of the best UA-cam topic videos I've ever seen; I've literally taken notes. Thank you for shaing xx
Glad it was helpful! 🤓 ✋
Thanks Nick!!! Solid
Thanks Nick!....been applying some new ideas recently, my last video got me 90 views since saturday when I uploaded it, by comparison, previously my channel was pretty much dead, no views, no impressions, not much activity, finding new ways how to do thing, ALL the time is key to grow :D
Great advice. For all the small channels who watching .
You GOT THIS !!!!!!. Let's Goooo

Taking notes, as always. 👍

My biggest thing is be organized and keep your playlist updated

So i like keep my mind busy and have a schedule ahead of time
Thx for advice nick
Finally i started my UA-cam channel from your motivation...hopping for success and growth
Thanks
🤓👊 I appreciate you!
Thank you, Nick. Practicing everyday to build brain muscle memory through filming even without publishing is a good one. I will definitely do this one.
🤓 ✋
It's ironic, I've been doing the EXACT things you're saying to me right now but I wasn't doing the other things like creative studio, etc. Every week I get a weekly recap of my channel and videos that I make. Very interesting, as always bro thanks again. This is what I prayed about and quit my job lol to do this. I'm ready to work, 👍🏽✊🏼
I'm new to this platform. I just started uploading videos last month and I'm still learning from watching your videos. Hope to grow more in the coming months and years to come! I will update you after a month or so! Thanks!😍
🤓👊
Thank You So Much 😊 I really appreciate this Lesson
All of these tips are super helpful! Completely agree with the philosophy of practice, practice, practice. For a lot of us (new content creator here 🙋🏻♀️), it’s a brand new muscle we need to flex and work on every day!
Just wanted to stop by and say thanks so much for your helpful tips! Will be incorporating this into my daily routine now 🙏🏽
🤓👊
Thanks you’ve really helps me grow my channel
I’ve been lost on what to do next in order to move my channel forward and boy did you answer that question for me and some. Thanks Nick. Got all my notes from this video and signed up with Notion (wish I heard of Notion website years ago, it’s amazing). Thanks Nick this video is golden 10/10❤
Fantastic!
Thank you so much for this - I'm finding your channel (and your podcast) a great resource for improving my skills.
In some ways, your advice shows me that I still have a lot to learn, but I'm confident that I can pick up some tips and strategies that will help me. Thank you once again.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the content! There is indeed a lot to learn with all of this. As long as you embrace the learning curve and actively work on developing any skills for it you’re deficient in the sky is the limit.
Thank you for the information. Appreciate you much 💜
Thanks for the great tips! I’m aimlessly navigating my UA-cam. I just subscribed as I have a lot to learn!
Welcome aboard!
I just watched this video last week and ive already started seeing better changes in my channel, last week the skill i chose was retention and i saw results , this week im doing thumbnails and i think I'll stay on that. Thank you very much ❤
🤓👊
I started listening then realized that I need to save this to listen when I can make notes. This is GOLD. I just got monetized and need to grow even more.
🤓👊
OMG this is so helpful! I mean, all your videos are helpful but man, this is so helpful for me right now. ❤
This has actually helped me out pretty well thank you NICK.
🤓👊
Great tips as always Thank you❤❤❤
Helpful as always, thank you!
I cannot believe how informative your videos are. There are so many great tips in this video I'm going to have to split it up.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very much Nick for the useful info and help!
Glad it was helpful!
Wow. Very thoughtful
very informative content, useful points, structure, content type, practicing the skills is a challenge very useful content Thanks Nick.
Thanks for the great analysis. Though I'm not an aggressive creator trying to get the most views/subs, I value your advice on producing great content in my normal relaxed manner. It's nice to know that's okay, and I don't have to pretend to be something that I'm not. I'm an educator (over 50 years teaching martial arts as well as other things) and so this is a new medium for me to convey helpful information to people. You're a great resource for this, and just wanted to let you know that!
I appreciate that! 👊🤓
What camera do you use.. and lighting etc. Would love to see your setup behind the scenes
As always great advice 👍🏻
Amazing info! Amazing video! Thank you!

Thanks, very good video 👏
Great video. Love the idea of browsing the home page to see what’s working for titles and thumbnails. Probably can get good ideas for videos that way too!
Absolutely. It’s great for pulling concepts or themes from other niches.
Thanks 👍🏼 great video. Great ideas 💡
Taking notes ! Trying to grow my channel 😊
Good information. I am faceless and mostly voiceless. I keep it simple
Great advice Nick, I enjoyed this and learned a lot! Cheers. Stay safe, have fun! 🙏😁👍✌
Glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting to see Notion coming up again. I've played with it a little, but UA-camrs seem to be recommending it a lot.
Excellent info...don't know what I would do without you.
Glad to help!

You are most welcome!! 🤓👊
Hello Nick,
Very informative video. I'm going to add this to my daily routine. As always your knowledge has inspire me to keep going. Thanks.🎉😊
Great information ❤️
Thank you so much for this insightful information, I have a quick question, so inside my UA-cam channel analytics it shows that most the views comes from Channel Page with almost 50% then secondly the External with 24% while I getting very low views on UA-cam search and suggested videos, what should I do to improve those two areas to get more views on it.
Very useful tips. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Again, thank you so much for this great information ❤😊.
Any time! 🤓👊
Yo my dude! Did you get a new camera? It looks SUPER clean 👌
Just dialing it in!!
this was very helpful, thanks.
Glad to hear!
Thx y...so helpful...my channel is slowly gaining some movement so I must be doing something correct ..happy to learn from everyone and yourself..thx y
🤓 ✋
good video ! thanks !
Great actionable tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Nick! We continue to watch some of your videos to help us grow and it has worked. I have a question? do you know if UA-cam stopped pushing out shorts for small content creators? I've noticed it's hard to go viral on shorts now and I'm not the only one that's complained about it? Also why is no one talking about how you can promote your own UA-cam videos through google ads to get more views on their videos?
They didn’t stop showing them, you can see this by looking at your “impressions” for the short in analytics. You’ll see it got initial impressions but then fell off. What’s happening is the shorts shelf is getting increasingly more competitive making it harder to perform there.
@NickNimmin That makes a lot of sense. It's definitely discouraging more than ever now but thank you for your feedback! All the best.
GREAT TIPS, AS ALWAYS NICK!! I try to explain to my aunt (she's a writer who will be NUMBER ! NYT BEST SELLING AUTHOR!) "you need to write every day" and why I post shorts daily! (EVEN when I've messed part of the short up, or my hair isn't perfect) "MUSCLE MEMORY!" I had that thought yesterday! I need to make a short and tell the kids this why! TYSM Nick!, Hey do you have a tutorial on NOtion? I don't know how to upload screenshots etc. should I use it on my phone? I only tried on my Macbook Air so far. APPRECIATE YOU!
No Notion content on my channel, but there are some great Notion channels out there.
👏👏👏👏 Thank you Nick, always the best advices 💪 Great video 😊...
👊 ✋
@@NickNimmin 🤜🤛💪🤚
Great content.
This is wonderful, ideas that we can learn a lot. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
Great video♥️
Great info nick! Quick question, is it best to do research on a computer/laptop or will mobile work?
Both will work - it comes down to what you have/are comfortable using.
So! Here I am, still subscribed to Nick and trying to take it all in
And still not really getting anywhere 😁
Having just a couple of videos sitting at over 2000 views while all my other content struggles to get past 300 views has me scratching my head 🤔
I know I am not really a content creator as such and most of my stuff is just music I make along with some DaVinci Resolve animations or flame fractals
Maybe I should try something different... Instead of just uploading a video with animation, perhaps I should give my videos a personal touch and open up with an introduction explaining what is coming up
I have been livestreaming once a week for a few months now so putting my face out there isn't a problem
cheers
andy 🙂
Think about content that would bring the most value to your potential viewers, whether that be entertainment or informational.
@@NickNimmin thank you for your reply, Nick
good point... I have been on UA-cam sunce 2015 and all I did was uploaded my music with an animation, so, entertainment
I am not sure that I would be that good at doing informational stuff
I have found that I enjoy the livestreaming thing, so maybe I need to up my game in that department
all food for thought 😀
cheers
As usual, Awesome advice!
🤓👊
Great video❤
It is very helpful
I will reduce some repeated words when I make videos. Thx sir
So many amazing tips in one video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Highly recommend notion!
