Hey Alex, I'm in Massachusetts I just delivered to Dover New Hampshire. I put my rookie behind the wheel an hour ago it's not too bad here we're picking up for Yankee Candle. They just opened a store at the local mall in North Carolina, I secured this run a month ago. Can't wait 2 more weeks and we're getting our brand new 2024 Kenworth's! I told my rookie if he helped me team drive, he'll get a new one. So, how's your FRIGHT liner? Keep it safe and out of the ditches bro. I'm releasing my first trucking video in two weeks; I hope you watch and enjoy it Alex.
Hey Alex . I’m with GP transco company now. Just got my truck two days ago , I found GP transco from your previous video and it’s great to be part of the team .. thanks to your video .
So if you have the room, slide the tandems all the way back. I have found its a lot easier to back the trailer, and maneuvering. Plus if you think about it, most shippers and receivers ask you to slide the tandems. So I would open my doors and slide my tandems, and then start to backup.
You should also drive almost all your 11 hrs. Watch all your videos. They are funny as hell. I've noticed you stop alot and you could make your deliveries sooner but you shut down to soon.
I think he has bigger windows for delivery and to him it’s better to shut down and keep on his sleep schedule than to screw it up delivering early for nothing.
It's your turn to buy dinner man! Don't complain too much because in trucking you never know what to expect, dont be picky and drive wyoming in the winter but never ever leave I-80 unless you have to. Trucking is not for everybody but you are doing just fine and dont trust the gps all the time! Enjoy, have fun, don't complain and it is what it is! "Trucking"
Alex gotta learn how to walk a trailer over. When pulling straight crank wheel hard left, then hard right, then hard left again and whatever way you start you physically move trailer over that direction would've cut your backing down by half.
Question: why not break the seal and open the doors after you line up to the dock? You didn’t have any straps on either. I drive too so just a thought. It could be a bad day if the freight fell out while na king and all.
I couldn't see the St. Louis arch in this video, but I have seen it in person in my travels. However, I've never been inside of it. Whiteman AFB, Missouri was my first duty location when I joined the Air Force. I'm from Alabama and I would make the trek from Missouri to Alabama just about every holiday that I could. I always passed right by the Arch.
In my experience, large facilities like that separate shippers from receivers. My placement was based upon why I was there. There was separate equipment for each (not interchangeable, this 50 forklifts were not mixed with the other 50), and they had them separated by many docks. Perhaps the story at where you were at?
Hi , I’m doing hotshot 2 years ago , and I want to have the cdl, the only problem is I have a speeding ticket last year, which school recommends me to start , i talk to 2 schools but the insurance doesn’t accept me …….
I don't doubt you are happy with what you are doing, but I don't think you are being well paid. When you go out on a trip the meter should start running. Think of a seven day trip this way. The first 40 hours at $15.00 an hour (crappy money) would be $600.00. As long as you are with the truck and living in it you should be paid. Even when you are sleeping. That is another 128 hours at time and a half for overtime. That time is worth $2,880 or for the week long trip should be $3,480.00. Ok 650 miles a day at 50 cents a mile is 325.00 per day or $2,275.00 for 7 days. So you'd have to make another $1,205 a week to make $15.00 an hour. What you are really making (assuming 50 cents a mile) is $9.80 an hour.
I wish we would have your videos at least thrice a week ...by the way why don't you try a live video since your friend jonathan is there? it would be great
So, it took you longer to back into 16 than to unload? lol Empty docks are harder then full docks, all the space freaks you out. Its common but watch your cuts line in the concrete they can help
Dont that noise from those 4way signals drive you nuts.I never understood that I'm from Florida and we only use them in emergency only.If we go into the northeast they have a under a mile a hour law that you use them .By the way backing in where it's close to other trucks is so the forklift operators don't have to run so far they have that for a reason. That's why I got unloaded in 20 minutes Ok Alex take care not too many your age does what you do Good luck in your career.
Should I become a trucker? I've honestly been giving it a lot of serious thought lately.... I definitely enjoy driving and I absolutely need to start doing something a lot more stable in terms of a career
I have never seen a OTR driver be so nervous about backing a trailer, or going to truck stop and leaving because the only options were “not easy “ backing or all by themselves parking. I like that you are careful and I love your videos but please chill out on moments of complaining that “ you don’t know why they put you at a certain dock where other trucks are parked next to yours. I am sure you know this hopefully, but they put you at a certain dock because that is where they have the other stored merchandise as you are hauling .
From what I have seen he backs just fine, a little slow but that’s okay. But he gets so anxious and backing a trailer, or cars merging into highway where he has to get over a lane, part of the job bro, gotta be ready for it all, everyday OTR.

One of the perks to the new company is really quick loads and unloads. Wow
It's very rare for them to take longer than 1hr
The ones that take literal hours to load and or unload trucks are largely responsible for the high turnover in truck drivers

Backing*
Hello have a nice weekend Alex
Alex spends more time driving around in truck stops and backing up at shipper and receiver than highway miles. 🤣🤣🤣 like your channel though .

Drive straight to towards 17 when your cab passes 16 turn hard right until the trailer is in 16 then back in
