Alex -while doing a full-time job, plus taking the time to upload and sharing your journeys, while experiencing abnormal sleep patterns - - I can say for all of your fans that we appreciate your efforts.
Loving your videos, i just retired after 45 yrs trucking mostly local p/d so calif, ran OTR 43 states in 1976-77 but could only stand 2 winters back east, please stay out of upcoming heavy snowstorm areas, I broke down once in Green Bay during a blizzard in 1977, delivered in Chicago when -8 degrees, never went to Maine only as far north as Boston, delivered 3 times in NYC, that city is a real adventure in a tractor trlr, except they wouldnt let trucks, site see around central park, and watch out for low bridges in Northeast
lol you Americans bit of snow&ice and you shut it down(sarcasm). I invite anyone to try calgary-edmonton with 2x53' lcv in the winter every day, negative 22F for several weeks straight. Every day you're dealing with frozen brakes, perma black ice, insane winds... Dispatch sends you out no matter what the conditions they dgaf. Seen trailers blown off the highway thru blizzards and ice, cant even stop to help cause you're at the same risk, dispatch likes sending you back with empties🙃white knucle driving the whole shift. Could only stand that for 2winters, any other winter driving comes ez after that bs. Never been to NYC yet with trk/trailer I'll be happy if I can avoid that place for the rest of my career though, that is it's own nightmare I imagine :)
Where at in Florida and what school did you go to and how much did you have to pay? I’m in the process of getting mine I’m just trying to find a good affordable school.
Hey Alex, enjoy viewing your videos. I am not a trucker, but do realize the essential and importance of what you do. Thank you for the great job, and always keep on doing what it is that moves you! Aloha from Maui, and the North Shore Surf & Sea Club.
Just found your channel and absolutely love it. Thank you for showing what being a truck driver is like. I was feeling down and your videos helped make me feel better. Hope to see another video soon.
Allix my man, the on ramps are to speed up to traffic speed and merge. Hills or short on ramps will have run ways for heavy trucks that can't geddy up .
used to work out of the lot "Flynn's" that you grabbed your Maine load from. I haven't seen that lot in more than a year. The Schneider lot is straight in to the 'upper lot' I'm OTR now and getting into my own truck in a month. Just got my own Authority and everything. Thank you for your videos and bringing back good memories. 🥰
Nice to see you in my neck of the woods. I know the Market Basket well. MAINE is like Washington state but without the Cascades. Lol. Have a wonderful trip. Gets cold up here. Peace out Alex. Drive safely
You called the Massachusetts driver a maniac while you're on your way to Maine - LOL. Some times people from Maine are called Mainiacs ;-) Yes Maine is famous for lobster.
Alex if you drive to Maine keep going for 8 hours into Nova Scotia.. ill make you some supper..lol ..you should drive Canada to if you want to see some beautiful scenery..
Welcome to Maine! That was definitely a crappy weather day. There are some pretty spectacular places to visit here though, especially in the summer. While Maine is known for Lobster, it is also known as vacation land! Still can’t believe you were at my local Circle K lol.
@ALEX THE TRUCKING GUY I'm sure you've checked, but does GARMIN have a setting for "truck routes only" ? It seems GARMIN routes you through a lot of residential areas, which can be trouble in New England with all those low overhead bridges!
garmin in a truckign map, there are some areas that truck can pass through legally, the ones they cant it wont show... that being said he doesnt not need to follow google maps advice, only to see the shipper reciever, etc not the route, google can mess a trucker up if they arent careful
Myself, I've only used RandMcNally's truck gps's, they have never done me wrong. I started trucking before gps's became prevalent and affordable, teamed with the wife for 15+yrs, she HATED Garmin's, so, I've only run RandMcNally's.
@@williammills6060 Face it, most don't want to bother with the OldSchool ways doing things. I've made use of modern technology, but common sense trumps it!!
@@RiverRatWA57 that's very true I'm only in my 3rd year but I learned from the old school drivers and plus I learned my lesson first solo trip about GPS lol
Hi Alex i hope you got out of Maine and got a load south out of the latest storms path, keep your fuel tanks at least half full in case you get stuck in blizzard, and park it if weather gets too bad.
I’m retired NYCDOT Emergency Response, 100% of our over height overpass truck strikes was because of drivers following Online maps (google, Apple, yahoo) and gps units for passenger vehicles (Garmin, TomTom) invest in a Garmin dedicated commercial GPS. Keep trucking and be safe. PS keep it updated!
You found out you can't drive into Boston, they have drop yards and docks for redistribution outside city limits. An Ottawa or Autokar registered yard truck will pick up an drop off trailers in and out of city. Don't feel bad, you don't want to go into downtown ever with your truck.
So many of my local roads are like this. I'm in central maine. We are famous for lobster, potatoes. There's mountains, but a lot of people do come to Maine actually:) it's called vacationland. It's normal for us to see 18 wheelers in town everywhere local.. You really didn't come into Maine tho you were still in southern maine
It's so strange seeing familiar places in your vlogs. That's Shrewsbury, MA. Schneider has a yard down at the end where you had that drop and hook. Spent many nights there snowed in before.
Alex I’ve been loaded as high as 78k lbs and I’ve found the sweet spot for the tandems to be at that 10 foot marker i put it there and 99% of the time I don’t have to mess with them no more after scaling just put the 10ft arrow in between your tandems and you are gucci 99% of the time
That's my day in a nutshell ,same people and same 4 walls. I'm thinking about talking to herschelbach or TMC . I have to get out soon , before I go nuts
Hey you were in my neck of the woods, where were you in the Boston area? Maine is great. Lots of woods and the mountains role down to the rugged coast. Besides lobsters Maine is known for wild blueberries.
What does Maine look like? Picturesque everywhere you turn, everywhere you look! My all-time favorite state! And yes, Maine is most famous for Lobster!🦂
Your scale ticket was weird because you wasn't fully pulled on the scale. You pull up to where you can reach out of your window and push the button. I'm assuming your trailer wasn't all the way on the scale because you stopped short
I saw that too. Dudes all worried about scaling but doesn't know how to stop on a scale properly? Seems like he's acting fake in case the company watches. "Oh yeah I scale all the time"
My fav trucker came here bc I remembered following you awhile back if you haven’t heard fourteen gears by midland pls listen to it you’ll thank me later big dawg be safe out there
After 21 years over the road, I have done everything in the industry possible. I've literally hauled high explosives through the cascades and rockies at night many times while diving the night on my shiftm it never gets better and proving something to your dispatcher means NOTHING and the shipper doesn't give a damn either. Litterally, just look out for yourself, learn hoe it works and bad the customer's will to fit your own, litterally ALL pickup and delivery times are negotiable. Don't worry, you'll knebe fired, just do what You want and let dispatch know, they'll adapt. I promise thos works every time.
I have the worst luck ever , just got back from the hospital and found out my wife has COVID-19 .So I'm down for at least 2 weeks . Can't start yet . Stay safe 🤞🙏👍 have good travels .
I love maine I've delivered to Portland and Agusta a few times beautiful country except Portland lol but it always looks like it should be cold there lmao
Well shoot! I didn't know you came up this way. I'm in the Boston area.......if you ever get stuck doing a 34 here, hit me up! We'll find a place to pahk the truck and head out

Just started my training for cdl for Ashley your videos have been a great help for getting me an idea of the job thanks for the videos
Maine outlaws billboards. That's why you thought you were in the middle of nowhere but there are amenities close by.

I starting to worry about him. Appears it's 8 days no video yet. Them trucks roads get bad you need park up.
Hey Alex 👋. Be Safe out there Brother. And Happy Holidays my friend ❤

NY Could just make it abundantly clear to Truckers in nys and city to STAY OFF PARKWAYS ! expressways way are commercial friendly.
Hopefully you get out upper eastern US. ASAP. We in 2 to 3 days getting very cold weather & snow.
Saw one of your boys while coming back from lunch last Friday! Had to take a pic just incase it was actually you coming to visit in Maryland!!😂
I was board so I used google maps for directions to the summit of Mount Everest, and it said it “can’t find away there” . I’m totally serious lol.
You was in my state, keep safe on the road and keep up the awesome videos

I know decided to do trucking, I working on general knowledge for the cdl part for testing and actually live life to visit the world.
Just cause they scaled doesn’t mean your 5th wheel is set the same they could of moved their 5th wheel. I do it all the time
I live in western mass and the highways are too fast sometimes 🤣

You may have been in Shrewsbury, but that scale was in Leominster. There was a scale at Flynn’s truck stop off 140 and 20 in shrewsbury
That's my day in a nutshell ,same people and same 4 walls. I'm thinking about talking to herschelbach or TMC . I have to get out soon , before I go nuts
Why do you get out of your truck when you scale? Just pull up to it and push the top button. Also, don’t pull your brakes. Makes you heavier.
