Indeed, but having watched a few of his videos, I think that means he is no longer worried, or mortified, if he's late to deliver. So it's not near as bad as it sounds.
Alex, I have been driving for 7 years and saw your video switching to gp transco. I applied, and I am headed to orientation next week! How do you like them so far? Still living the dream? I also thought about van life before trucking.. I love our similar path.
@@leagueofotters2774 because I lived it that's why . Do you think trucking companies can't find enough people to do it cause it's glamorous and it's a good job . Go get yourself a trade in carpentry, electrician , plumber , welder , iron worker , policeman , fireman . Trucking is worst job in America
I drive quite a bit on the freeway, and I tend to go slower than the rest of the traffic, and stay in the slow lane with cruise control. Like, if people are going 60 MPH, I set the cruise to 55. Or if people go 65 MPH, I got 60. Or if people go 70, I usually leave it at 60. But if people are going like, 75 MPH, I go 65. It gets better gas mileage, and is calmer. I like cruising slowly. Of coarse, in the slow lane. I don't set cruise control to the speed traffic is moving, since on my van, it's either on, or off. No way to adjust it by like, 1 MPH. So going the exact speed of traffic with it is almost impossible. I would have to keep turning it on and off. So I just set it to a rounded off speed like 60 MPH. If I where to be in a state besides California, where truckers go faster, I would try to go a bit faster, so if they pass, it isn't too fast. So I would probably go 65-70 MPH, if they are going about that speed.
lol you drive like me. I like to drive so that I have a lot of open space around me because its safer against people cutting me off and yes its calmer. also if I'm ever caught in the cluster of cars/trucks on the highway I slow down to 62-64mph and let people go around. being trapped with a bunch of other cars/trucks so close like that makes me nervous

Alex when you're full and truck, you're under 40 tons vs. a 4-axel locomotive is around 124 tons (280,000 pounds) and have up to 3,600-gallon fuel tanks and up to 4,000 horsepower. Here's food for thought Alex my rookie has been with me 4 months and has been paid after taxes $25,000 take home!
nope. I just drive these regular trailers. flatbed I don't want to tie everything down and tanker I don't know. I'm happy doing just dry van. that's what my company does
Alex after your goal of 7 years is up, have you thought about driving locally and being home every night ? Or do you just plan on quitting trucking for good forsure?
I got 6 yrs of driving hazmat tanker over the rode and I think I might go do other work, the issue is all the rules can’t even move a muscle without having the police telling u what u can and can’t do and no talking back cuz license is on the line.
Very very good content. Oh have times changed. Trainer??!! I showed up my first day, was given keys to a truck and told to drive to NYC. The truck was a manual 10 speed , I had never driven a manual before. Definitely better to have real training. Alex you should do a Spanish channel. Let your fellow immigrants know that the American dream is still alive and possible and that they don't have to sell themselves to some slave driver for minimum wage.
If you aren't a liar then you should know you have an automatic restriction on your license and cannot legally drive a 10 speed manual and your company knows that. Also, we definitely do NOT need to tell more people to come to this country we are full.
Do it!! Some companies will pay for your CDL like Swift and Forth Worth CDL School. You're gonna have to be in a contract with them for at least 1 Year because of the free schooling, if you leave before the 1 year you may have to pay, but it's worth it if you can't afford it
its like camping but literally 24/7. its lifestyle. first you gotta figure out if you can live in a small space like a semi truck 24/7. workweek is 60-70hrs too. good money. 45k-100k based on experience. figure out if you can live the lifestyle first. then if want to try it out then look to work for Nussbaum, prime or cfi. Nussbaum and prime have been awarded one of the best fleets to drive for so I figure they're doing something right
What's yur buddy doing flying ? is he commercial pilot got a job flying yet ? or still training to get his Prv pilot lic ? Where does he fly out of ? Is he trying to get to airliner jet job someday?
Im not a truck driver (yet) but I’ve noticed that most truckers put their flasher on and usually people let them come in. If they don’t they start merging slowly (to make people know they want to merge) and most of the times someone will let them in
Ive got to ask.....why is your driver mirror pointing to the sky? why not use it to watch the road and the bottom part of your trailer and the road lol
Everybody doesn't sit the same in the seat. Everybody isn't going to set their mirrors the same either.. He's sitting dang near all the way in the sky so the mirror compliments that.
03:00 this situation happens way more than others think every situation is different I understand and respect that but a CB to let the other driver know that blew your driver side door off that you needed to get over now would have helped
This right here!!! I barely get 6 hours of sleep and I'm tossing and turning those last 4.. So I get to the truck stop, shower, eat, then goof off until those 4 hours are up.. Then I'll go to sleep..
I agree with your buddy, California does suck. It's not a semi truck friendly state, the 55 mph speed limit is out right ridiculous, those truckers didn't forget what the speed limit is, they just don't want to drive 55,I'm the same way, I'll drive 60,no faster than 65.
You know how much the battery has to weigh to pull 75k pounds for 500 miles? Say goodbye to full loads, cause 60% of your cargo load will be a battery. And gut luck getting it charged every night. You run out of parking space with a diesel, it's a hassle. Run out space at charging station, you are parked for the entire next day.
In your CDL training, did you have to learn to drive a manual transmission. Like a 9 speed or a 13 speed manual? Just curious. Love your videos, bro! Keep up the good work and thank you for delivering all of our s**t! 😃

its like camping but literally 24/7. its lifestyle. first you gotta figure out if you can live in a small space like a semi truck 24/7. workweek is 60-70hrs too.
Is he trying to get to airliner jet job someday?
he's in flight school now. I'm not sure what the steps are
That was tense at 3:05.
I've had my CDL for 2months now. I tried food service that's not for me. So I'm going to swift
Really curious how do you deal with merging in crazy traffic while in a semi?
Im not a truck driver (yet) but I’ve noticed that most truckers put their flasher on and usually people let them come in. If they don’t they start merging slowly (to make people know they want to merge) and most of the times someone will let them in
You should go back to school and get your pilot license too that way if trucking ever slows down you can be an airplane pilot
truckers used to keep the other trukers aware of the cops, where they were and what they were doing.
What is the pay to strat out . Do one on pay and the miles , do u get health insurance???
Ive got to ask.....why is your driver mirror pointing to the sky? why not use it to watch the road and the bottom part of your trailer and the road lol
Everybody doesn't sit the same in the seat. Everybody isn't going to set their mirrors the same either.. He's sitting dang near all the way in the sky so the mirror compliments that.
You ever going to go local or always be otr?
03:00 this situation happens way more than others think
every situation is different I understand and respect that
but a CB to let the other driver know that blew your driver side door off that you needed to get over now
would have helped
10 hr break, take 1 hr to shower, grab food and then get 8 hrs sleep .
Get your PPL and then go to UND Dept of Aviation. You can travel farther !
Sorry to say but I'd be surprised if you lasted at least a week on the road out here in Australia
Have you checked your wheel alignment?
Dave is dope!!
Just wondering from a truck driver point of view. Would u want to drive the Tesla semi truck?
You know how much the battery has to weigh to pull 75k pounds for 500 miles?
Say goodbye to full loads, cause 60% of your cargo load will be a battery.
And gut luck getting it charged every night. You run out of parking space with a diesel, it's a hassle. Run out space at charging station, you are parked for the entire next day.
In your CDL training, did you have to learn to drive a manual transmission. Like a 9 speed or a 13 speed manual? Just curious. Love your videos, bro! Keep up the good work and thank you for delivering all of our s**t! 😃
most won't now i wanted to learn manual but they said everything is automatic now
He would just complain about having to shift gears.
Alex your scammer is Matt Maran. I'm tipping UA-cam off about him right now, and just for fun why not get the feds in on the fun too!
Need to LOVE DRIVING
Do you guys have automatic restrictions
Are you a truck driver or a UA-camr? Which pays more?
He definitely can quiet driving now and live off UA-cam
@@lifeisabadjoke5750 I think his company should get a cut of the money. He's using their truck to make the money! I should drop a dime on him!
Hey Alex this is now the 5th name I made a PRO member! If my new business ventures blossom, I may make you an offer you can't refuse. If you know about transloading?
I watch riding with Dave
he inspired me to get into trucking
Alex was wondering since you have about 7 years or so in trucking have you thought about putting your money into things like mutual funds? To have it grow as you work?
yup its in etf's. mutual funds have too many fees for me
great vid.. Alex u yur friend buddy Did u consider Prime ?
Why not.. money ? P big reefer company.
What's yur company rate ? u get at GPTransco now ? if can say . heard GPTransco is Best comp. good pick
goodluck
Alex have you thought of Team Driving with your BFF, make more money quicker?
GP sucks it’s an over the road company for west coast people. I was like nexxxxxxxt.
Rear axle or hub temp same gage
You look like Gennady Golovkin!
Where you just in new Mexico loves a few days ago
SWEAR TO GOD bro driving in Chicago, Illinois is the worst. some of the most BS type drivers who don't pay attention or speeding for nothing, worst drivers in the country
Nothing beats NYC
You right I'm a home daily driver in Chicago but that's why I prefer to do regional runs home daily 😂 as soon i get back to Chicago i have to keep an eye everywhere cause they would look for the smallest space to get in
