i love that even as they grow older, the band doesn't lose their great eccentricity and Cindy and Kate still wear those crazy outfits :') they look great
The song was written by her dead brother about when they were kids and he took one of her dolls and she screamed.Give me back my man about it. Apparently little cindy promised to give him everything she had in return for her doll back.
Oh well.... I guess we are all getting old. Amazing song from an amazing band. She still has the voice the energy and the good humor. I miss Rick thought.
My favorite B-52's song, but giving how much effort it takes to sing that song I am amazed she didn't shred her vocal chords after every gig. I thought there's no way she could sustain it this late in her career. Just being honest in saying the answer is she couldn't. Still a magical song for me. The original vocal lines were insane, and I'm certain (without any evidence) that this song was the inspiration that kickstarted P.J. Harvey's career.
Amazing song and so many unforgettable albums, thank you for the great moments spent with them. I'm sorry, I know that I'm not already that handsome, strange boy from the 80's.
Thank you very much for giving so much love to beautiful gay brother I lost of Aids in 2002 he was your biggest fan he played your music every day he kisses all of you😘
Good version. I think Cindy used that distinct high pitch voice for so many years that its pretty much gone. It comes with age and strain, but shes still a legend.
@@coral8527 I was 16. FOX theater in Detroit. Going to our seats I saw a guy with an earring with a chain going to a safetypin through his cheek which was blue from the safetypin. I remember just standing there staring at it. It was like the first time I saw I Kareem Abdul-Jabbar(he was Lew Alcindor then) courtside when I was 7 in 1971. I just stood there, 5 feet from him, staring up at this 7 foot dude
Oh dear, not what i wanted to see, Getting old takes some serious reality checks. Will stick to the 1990 videos from now on!. I can live back there, it was a better place for me!. Glad they are still around as a band though...well sort of after watching this.
As much as I love the B52s, I think it's time to quit playing live. This is my favourite song by them and it was painful to watch. Some bands can still rock it as they get older, sadly these aren't one of them.
@@johnathandavis3693 Not a hater, I just wouldn't pay to see them live now. Can you not have an opinion these days without being labeled a hater? If you read my comment you'd see I'm a big fan of them
@@jackster285 you're quite obviously a hater. They sounded fine here. You'd have to be a nit picking little bitch to find something wrong with this performance.
I have to be honest, I see your point. I don’t think you’re a hater at all. Especially when we’re so used to hearing the original version/s of this/these song/s which had incredible soul. The vocal range changes as people get older. Looks change, bodies change, etc. This particular performance just doesn’t have the impact. At the same time, I’m sure they’re having fun and still enjoy performing. Other people seem to enjoy it too, but I’m too much of a fan of their earlier magnetic energy to see them now. Just not the same.
This is PRECISELY the vibe Neil Young was talking about in "Rust Never Sleeps." Better to burn out... than to fade away..... This band was so fresh. It was about fresh..... Now Kate Pierson has become what she was a parody of.
No crime in getting older. These are still rock icons who made their mark in music.
And are still making music. 😉
legends...
Love the b52s. This song was first released in 1980 I remember my older siblings dancing to it in our house, ❤
Look at the Stones.
Bless you & your attitude. I'm ready to choke my ageist 30 yr old kids.
i love that even as they grow older, the band doesn't lose their great eccentricity and Cindy and Kate still wear those crazy outfits :') they look great
Exactly Bella very few bands like this anymore that play their songs with perfection considering they arent so young anymore.
Crazy outfits is all they have left
They’re absolutely fabulous. Like a fine wine, only get better with age.
Someone give her man back already..it's been 40 freaking years she's been asking..
Is the guy even still alive???
@@shahnchristensen1470Nop, Cindy's Husband died in 1985

Cindy sounding great at 63! wow
73 brother 👍
B-52’s forever!!! The best little band in the world!!!!
Still going hard!
How are they not in RRHOF? They’re icons.
It's a crime they're not RRHOF. There's a petition somewhere. Country Music Television (of all ppl) DID honor them.
F the rrhof
RRHOF is nothing. B52s are legends.
Because they don't rap
Cindy still sounds great!
Nothing better than watching 70 yr olds who were your musical idols in the 80's still sounding great. Big difference from original video.
2021 we used to play this at my party's 20 + years ago. Wild days
I loved them back then. I would put in one of their tapes and it was an instant party, even if I was alone...
Amo, amo, amo a Cindy!!!
Me too!
Eu também.

‘Swell’?? 🤣

Cindy closes her eyes when she sings live.

Hello, Doctor Gab is the best relationship restorer I've ever known
old school song!!!.....i can't believe they are still around!!!!
Well, the Stones have been a band for 60 years now, so…
Epic and Iconic since their first rehearsal.
Musically this the tightest B52 song.
no...the shows from 79 are pretty spot on.....
I think these vocals is just as good as 40 years ago

These guys still rock!! Amazing :)
STILL kicks ass!
Me sigue estremeciendo esta cancion. B52 por siempre.
Wow!!! They still sound amazing even after 30+ years
You mean 40 years 😂
Still a great song. Gets them emotions going.
The voice is fresh. Great.
wow Cindy sounds the same as she did 40 years ago .
Absolutely love Cindy, but not the same vocal range as early B52’s. Does not sound the same. Just happens with age. ❤️
❤️ Cindy’s attire. Check out her earrings in the beginning
Muy bien 👍 excelente Cindy
Same voice, same energy and same modjo like in the 80's! I love this band!
This is what we call integrity.
Yeah, cheers.
I'll listen to the album version.
But thanks all the same. :)
I love you B-52 .. amazing
Today's ever evolving persona: Ziggy Stardust's girlfriend. Such a diva; God bless her.

Cindy has always been so cute - precious even.
But I've always had a thing for Kate.

Kate must be thinking to herself - “Thank God we can afford a bass player now”. 🤣

They should dress more conservatively-classically-kitschy in the 1960's conservative mode.
