"has anybody seen, a dog dyed dark green? about 2 inches tall, with a strawberry blonde fall, sunglasses and a bonnet, designer jeans with applique's on it..." some of the best lyrics ever. makes me laugh every time.
When they started he only had 3 strings on his guitar because he didn't know how to play guitar. That is why his guitar riffs were so simple....but it worked like a charm
This is one of the best guitars in music history, I just adore the devastating finale, those two notes over that throbbing bass line suddenly changing. It's post punk in a nutshell.. I'm talking about Quiche.. QUICHE LORRAINE!
One of my all time favorite songs! I am 50 and I have been a fan since the first album. I will still burst out in song? lyrics? from this song! My good friends are used to it. 😊😝
I was in LA, back in 1980. I wish I could have been there, too. At their concert. I hadn’t quite heard of the B-52s yet. My ex husband was into Pink Floyd at the time. And I was only turning 20 halfway through 1980. My best friend, at the time, started dragging me to an all night dance club, featuring New Wave music. That club was the first I ever heard anything about the band, and the first song, that I fell in love with, was “Rock Lobster”. Maryanne, if you don’t mind me asking,...I’m wondering if you and I are about the same age? It doesn’t matter, really. But I’m way jealous that you discovered the B-52s before I did! BTW, in your user icon pic, you look sooo very young! I must hate you even more, now. Jk, hon.
@@traekas7228 I'm so sorry I just saw this now. (Note, this is Maryanne, this is my regular UA-cam, the other one doesn't have anything on it). Yes, I'm probably your age. I was born August 19, 1963, making me 17 at the time of the show. (It was at Capitol Theatre, a concert venue, not a nightclub, as the drinking age was 19 and there were not yet all-ages shows). Thanks for the compliment, most people do look good for their ages nowadays. Mothers and daughters look like sisters. :)
My bedroom was in the attic and I would play my albums loud, especially B52's and my mom would bang on the ceiling with a broom handle. Then, when I came downstairs, she would ask me what in the Hell was I listening to! L ol!!! I tried my best to convince her how good it was.
Ive been a B 52 fan since late 80s. Always cranked there stuff. Then I bought Fred Schnieders first solo album. My Mom totally misunderstood the lyrics of the song Monster. That was embarrising. I had her read the liner notes to clear things up.
My parents didn't know what to think of me and my evolved taste in music. I was nearly out of the house at this time, though. BTW, they ended up liking the B-52s about a decade later. LOL!
My gosh this sounds familiar!!😀😀mine experience was Heart on a Wall by Jimmy Destri (Blondie) mom said “what in the world were you listening to last night? all I could hear was thump thump, thump” I am 57 now 😀
@@lowjamz828 Fred was what He was. We all knew! No Surprise! But his Vocals and Stage presence was Legendary! Now 'they' have a drug for that. Just ask yer Doctor. lol
Years ago Fred let me into a show in New Orleans on the S S President riverboat after we met outside and started talking and hit it off Fred is such a cool guy! ❤ 🐩
One thing is certain: These songs were designed to be played live - end of. Their time with David Byrne and Brian Eno might have changed their sound a bit, but these guys must have been GREAT to see live.
Hi 👋 love this band remember love shark look nice hair look big guitar nice dance , love teclado piano 🎹 batería, 👍🏼😎😎😎. Enero January 10/ 2019 : 11:57pm

I think I found it! Naw, it was just another 'mangy mutt'!
Having a good time, on a crummy day.
MobiusBandwidth I DIE laughing when he goes “sunglasses and a bonnet”
1,000 FT leash,LOL
Hello,do you have ANY Idea WHAT He is Singing about.
God, the guitar riff in this song is so amazing. Ricky Wilson really had a gift, always wrote simple guitar riffs, but they always sounded so unique!
When they started he only had 3 strings on his guitar because he didn't know how to play guitar. That is why his guitar riffs were so simple....but it worked like a charm
I'm not sure that's quite on target? Ricky and Keith played music together at least as early as 1970; before they formed with the rest of the band.
This is (or was when I was younger) pretty common knowledge among B-52 fans.

Tight Ricky-Riffs!
Cindy's voice is the pure voice of the soul. Always gives me chills
Definitely!

1:10 Love that Harmony on the Chorus by Kate and Cindy. Bring smile on my face everytime I heard it
By far my absolute favorite B52's song! Busts me up so much! The irony is so amazing in the lyrics.
My bedroom was in the attic and I would play my albums loud, especially B52's and my mom would bang on the ceiling with a broom handle. Then, when I came downstairs, she would ask me what in the Hell was I listening to! L ol!!! I tried my best to convince her how good it was.
My Mom yelled at me playing for playing sex beat in my car.. what is this crap! (gun club)

Nobody should support the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until they give this band their due.

Metallica sucks ass the lead singer is a drunk asshole who dissed Alice In Chains, meanwhile Alice In Chains is 10x better than Metallica.
