Love your honesty and also, I’ve been meaning to tell you, your production value is gorgeous. I love how clear your footage is, how in focus and well lit and your audio is crisp and clean. You do a great job. I love your channel and I appreciate the time and effort you put into it.
I accidentally sun-stressed my Hoya Burtoniae, which I purchased this year. I have it outside facing east. It gets direct morning light and shade during the heat of the day. It has produced a lot of peduncles and is currently blooming like crazy. The blooms smell like butterscotch and the scent is a little overwhelming. So, if you have an east-facing window, I would try it there. I hope this helps you.
That's fantastic! It's the one window I don't have ARG! The Burtoniae has sunstressed for me though. But the other thin leafed ones aren't as easy. Now the sun is coming back into my space. Let's see what happens :-) Happy growing!
I also have a mathilde splash and for the longest time (I can’t even remember) it grew very little if at all. Then this summer I tried a new spot and gave it more light and more water and now it’s one of my fastest growers by far.
It’s true. Soon after I recorded this video I started noticing an improvement in its growth after putting it into a south window. Not yet one of my fastest but it’s much better than before Glad to hear yours is doing better. 😊🪴
I’ve started twisting my homemade trellises and they look so good! It also makes them super strong. I cut an extra long piece of wire, fold it in half, and then stick the two end pieces into a drill with no bit in it. Then tighten it down and twist the two pieces together so they wrap around each other. I hold on to the other end with a pliers. This way they are also easier to form into a nice shape 🪴
I started my journey with Hoya about a year and a half ago. I, too have learned a lot along the way, sometimes the hard way!! But it has been worth it! Thanks for sharing your Hoya journey! I alwAys enjoy your videos!!😊❤@@luciansteph
Im glad I didn’t buy a Heushkeliana as I really wanted one. I actually also purchased a H. krohniana super silver bit swapped it for an australis lisa. I realized I don’t like the very small leave Hoyas. Would love a silver dollar but don’t love the cost and I’m not into rooting Hoyas as it seems they may be temperamental.
I was the same when I first started collected. But after a while the small leafed ones started to grow on me 🤭Hope you find a SD in your budget. It’s a beauty
I got a Home Depot silver lacunosa around the same time that you did and it's probably my favorite plant. It's definitely my fastest growing hoya in spite of me nearly killing it in the summer. It had bloomed like 3+ times so i was watering more than usual, and the weather was heating up, One day I noticed the shine on the top (hanging basket, hard to see) I had completely flooded the poor thing the day before! I cut back the longest vines which were nearly 2 ft long, took it out of the pot and let the root ball dry out, in my mind I had written it off. It pulled through and all of the cuttings took. Home Depot had also restocked around the same time that I thought it was going to die so I bought a backup. Now I've got so much lacunosa and I'm so happy about it.

That’s impressive! Great work! It’s a great way to save money and you can customize it to match the size of your plant. 🪴😉
