If you put really warm water on a paper towel and wrap it around stuck leaves they will usually pop free. It works better than anything else I’ve tried.
Ohhhh my that Wilbur graves!! Gorgeous! I have propped mine a ton due to lack of splash. Seems to be genetics with this one and not a conditions thing. She props so easy if you wanna fill out your pot! And wow the Mathilde splash is also gorgeous too. My goodness girly. Amazing stash!
Thank you. I actually never thought of filling out my put. What a brilliant idea! I think I was so focused on promoting the splash. Yes genetics play a big part. I had to cut my WG Russia a few times and I FINALLY got back very good splash. Don’t lose hope. 😆🪴
Your krimson queen is goals!! Wow she is so beautiful. I have a small piece and she is coming along but that is the GOAL! I def wanna treat my Hoyas for flat mites and just see if some of them take off. Kinda curious as I have some that aren’t doing well and always seem to be a struggle.
Hmmm. Normally marble have alot of variegation. I haven't seen it this low. i have seen pink marble very high normally. I do find philodendron frustrating with them cinderella evil stepsister slippers! 😂 lol
The nova ghost!! You give me hope I just got a little two leaf cutting and it has done nothing. I’ve had it about a month and while it’s rooting it’s done nothing so I was scared I had maybe a phantom cutting or something. She is sooooo gorgeous!! If mine doesn’t do anything I will have to buy another because I MUST have a basket of that!
I know what you mean. This plant makes you so nervous because it won’t grow until the roots are established and fill the pot. It loves high light too. Hang in there! 😅🫶🏽🪴
Great video!! It’s so nice to see the growth!! Wow some are amazing!! I just now started collecting Hoya few weeks ago and I’m obsessed. I already have like 10 different ones most babies and I can’t wait to see them grow. Loved this
@ haha I’m having too much fun already!! Started with mostly classics like carnosa princess and queen, australis, australis lisa, compacta, wayetii, pubicalyx, burtoniae, rosita and macrophylla. I’m waiting on Mathilde, sunrise, krohniana eskimo and most importantly heuschkeliana variegated (I loved yours so I needed to have it) in the mail from Etsy and Palmstreet. I haven’t shopped for plants online ever (all of mine are big box and local nurseries) so I’m little nervous but excited!! Sorry long winded answer but thank you so much for asking ;)
I actually top them all off when they get half way. Just so they never completely dry out without me noticing. So maybe every 1.5 weeks… Also, some aren’t as thirsty as others and the water could become stale before actually getting used up. In those cases I just change out the water completely with fresh, fertilized water.
Hi, I'm a new subscriber 😊. The pot that your hoya Michelle is in, is it a self-watering pot? Could you please add that to your amazon storefront so I can look at them? I'm assuming Amazon has them 😅 I like the simple style. Thank you!
Hi!!! Welcome!!! Glad to have you. Yes, it’s self watering. I actually repot it in my last video and highlight where I got them from. This specific pot isn’t from Amazon but there are similar ones in my storefront. Here are some links: Repotting video: ua-cam.com/video/afj2nCc1Xds/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared Pot website: thepropstudio.shop/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaawbjg6iyekoNn7oaTYGZGcGkKDB4adUiw95wO_OXhUDIX8Or4_TizTVYE_aem_UkP1_zORb6BXY8vbLug4fQ
You seem to have the Hoya growing skills that I am lacking. In contrast I seem to be the hoya serial killer. It wasn't really a species I was looking to add to my collection when I moved house last year and wanted to green the place up. I liked the leaves but the growing habits for some reason I didn't think was for me. Then one arrived in a rescue box and I started to understand what people liked about them, so found myself buying 4 more. Well i'm two down, hesitant to grow two others on in new pots and the last one just lost a leaf - deja vu here we go again. Maybe it's spite. Maybe they are hyper sensitive to my initial reluctance.
Trust me, you're not alone. I have lost a few hoya myself. I actually have an entire video about the Hoya I have lost and the ones that give me endless trouble. What if you looked into beginner friendly Hoya? Here are the ones I suggest, with beginner tips. You can check it out if you'd like. ua-cam.com/video/rJHkVCzppAA/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared I also provide unlimited 1 on 1 plant support on my Patreon. We can get into your light conditions and see what might work best for you. Don't give up! :-) :-)
I def wouldn’t expect much from the Pink princess, I’m not a fan of the growth. Not buying another, I’ll take my white wizard over the pp any day! Omgosh my Hoyas don’t grow like yours! That’s fast!! Had my Sarawak for 2.5 years, just starting to give new growth! My yellow clandestine I got at the same time, no new growth, even lost a leaf! Found out my Syngonium Albo isn’t a fan of being misted , the white parts melted in places
I have a feeling that most of the mass produced PPP started from a donor plant that had poor variegation and growth. They were really hard to source and the high-variegation ones were extremely rare. That's my theory. Because many years ago before they became widely available, I saw photos of some that were spectacular.
If you put really warm water on a paper towel and wrap it around stuck leaves they will usually pop free. It works better than anything else I’ve tried.
I’ve done that. You’re right, it works. But sometimes I don’t get to it and the payoff is so underwhelming. 🤷🏽♀️
Great video! I love to see updates on hauls. I’ve really wanted a pink princess type so I think I’ll wait for one with amazing variegation
Thanks! Hope you find it. 😊🪴

@ definitely I’m gonna get some sulfur and give it a go next time I am at the store!
Very nice collection! Thanks for sharing 20:57

@Planted386 thank you. 😊🫶🏽🪴
The Michele is so lovely in leaf shape.
It is! Wish it would grow better! 🙂
Your ah074 is growing great!
Thank you 😆it’s a great grower. You’ll enjoy it. 😉
Hoya dreams.!!! Nice plants overall
Thank you 😊🪴
Fellow Canadian here. Love your channel. Where do you buy your hoyas? I find them hard to get in such great varieties.
👋🏽👋🏽thank you!
I find them from Facebook Marketplace. 😆🪴many of mine are from @gennasplants and @cwttttia on Instagram
mist the plant while it’s putting out new leaves if you can’t provide a humidifier
Great idea. I also sometimes put a wet paper towel on it.

I got Sarawak and Mathilda Splash today 😊
🪴😆 so exciting! Happy growing! 😆🪴
Beautiful plants. What is your go to fertilizer.
Thank you. For Hoya Root farm. For everything else, miracle grow.
I wanted to get me one of those dendron prince but if the leaves doesn't open! Don't know if I want to spend the money.🤔
I can understand that. I’ve been disappointed by those a few times. 🤷🏽♀️😢
How often do you refill the reservoir of a hoya that’s in aroid mix in self watering?
I actually top them all off when they get half way. Just so they never completely dry out without me noticing. So maybe every 1.5 weeks… Also, some aren’t as thirsty as others and the water could become stale before actually getting used up. In those cases I just change out the water completely with fresh, fertilized water.
Lovely collection! Can you tell me what you meant when you said your mix was contaminated?
Thank you. I left the lid open and my cat peed in it. 🙈 😓
@@luciansteph Oooooh bad kitty! Awe, well were you able to wash it and make it good again? Substrate can get expensive!
@jennifermckenzie2968 no, I just tossed it to be on the safe side. At least it wasn’t a big batch. 😅

Hi! I want to ask what you're treating the plants/hoyas that aren't growing? I have a group of problem plants I want to try to treat. Last attempt
Horticultural oil. I linked a suggested one in my storefront since the one I use isn’t on Amazon. Hope it helps. 😊🪴
@luciansteph Thanks Steph!
