I am a big fan of these 67 to 72 model year Chevy trucks! And I tell you, in about 50 years from now, these trucks are 100+ years old and your still can watch them roaring down the road! Today's new trucks will hardly been seen anymore by then!
I'm 68 and my dad bought new 68' GMC 3/4 ton 327 QJet 4spd metallic blue, chrome frt bumper & grille.... a few yrs later he sold it to me .... hauled many campers and cords of wood, with ease.I just subbed & looking forward to watching you guys fix the old girl up. I also had a 72' GMC 3/4 4X4(sorry long winded)
Great Truck Great video. But sometimes I just want to walk into a video and show people how to do sometime. LOL. The camper has jacking legs that you jack up on all four sides to lift it off the truck and so it will stand on it's own. When they're trying to unload it with the fork lift I just wanted so bad to tell them! As well when he's using the E-brake? Stick it in neutral when using it.
My father bought a 1968 c10 same color but had white paint where they had chrome like the bumpers wheels mirrors. He bought it in the early 1970s. Out of Alabama where the did not have titles to them. That's kinda strange back then. Anyway his had a camper shell with matching colors on it side same color as the truck body. It had a 307 cu v8 with a standard shift on the column. His had the heavy duty coil springs under the bed for carrying heavy loads all standard. My father and older brother rebuilt the motor and hoped it up with high performance parts. Holley four barrel with eldabrock aluminum intake. Spider cam and forged pistons . They kept the exhaust stock and quite. I remember setting at a stop light and the truck would be rocking back and forth because of the cam they had put in it 😊. That truck would smoke the tires off in first gear. It was kinda funny to see when racing someone red to red light. It was a sleeper😅.
I haven’t finished the video yet but I remember seeing you guys detailed the engine bay. What’d you use to clean all the grease off the motor? I have a 79 Scottsdale that had sat for a while that’s got a bunch of grease on the engine from sitting and It smoke when It gets warm and makes me think it’s on fire so I need to clean it up some.
LMAO, Magiver has arrived on the scene. Bat Man is just above abd Super Man is on the rear. They will make sure the Truck stops and the tires don't go flat. And Dick Tracy is running front door with Joe Palooka on the rear with Happy Humphrey and his Potabble Out House. You will make it 4 shore!🚜
Hi there everyone, I'm new here to DF. I find myself hooked within moments of the intro. ...and now back to the show* * that's how it feels, less than one minute in.
young Elvis and older Elvis......u done a wonderful job of getting the chevy truck going again ...great find nothing like a big block 454 ....watching from Australia not a chevy fan at all.....to overrated in the states ......henry man until death do us part
All the old stick & staple campers? They are always rotten...I love vintage, clean RV's- but not the cheap end ones. Travco, Clark Cortez, Revcon, Airstream/Argosy, Starcraft, GMC
That's what happens when they're left in the elements. My dad had several over the years, and I had my share before switching to trailers. Not everyone has your money, they were a great bargain for alot of blue collar workers to get outta town for the weekend.
@speedfreak82I was actually given mine by an aunt & uncle from Alaska. A Travco 320, ordered by my uncle in Seattle, then taken to Alaska. Brought down in earlier 2000's and re-vamped. Youll be happy to know he was a 2-tour Vietnam vet (forward radio operator, then volunteered to be a helo door gunner) and then ran power crews in Alaska. If the collar wasnt blue from the work, it was from the temp 00
@markdewayne8442 my father had a 1968 c10 with gas tank behind seat . You could hear the gas splashing back and forth. The gas cap is on the driver's side behind the door on the cab of the truck. I was around in 1968 and remember that.
Fix the camper, it takes no welding experience, it's just wood and aluminum sideing, it's not hard. Why would you take an era correct truck and not fix the options that.made it cool??? You car vid guys smoke thr good Crack. Just put some half ton axles under it, shorten the frame and bed, some tires , wheels and some paint and call your self chip loose lol. Your build is bullshit!! Save the camper, do crazy shit later.

Gramps
Up town
The gas tank sets inside the cab of the truck behind the seat from the factory. Not a good location for wrecks
Not true
