What was your favorite item that I got in this video?
The swap meet
🤔
The galvanized gas can.
the 64 ss To bad it was not a 65 Z16
I used to go to that swapmeet and sell but it's always to cold and I stay with my stuff
The Chevelle's my favorite I see you sold it. .327 would gone really nice into that car. I'm a small block guy.
"I don't like pricing other people's stuff".... I love it and I'll have to remember that one. Good job Silas.
Ya don't want to insult, but don't want to offer too much
The used car lot has many genuine cars ❤
Silas, you crack me up, we know you can't go to any auction and not buy anything. I'm surprised your wife doesn't put a shock collar on you and go with you to the auction just to keep you from bidding!
Why, he makes $$$$$
@@speedfreak8200 it takes a certain amount of intelligence to understand what is humor, even amateur humor such as mine.
@@MaxDoubt2 dude, it was a joke, not to be taken seriously, are you related to speedfreak?
Everything we own and are paying for has been paid for by cars and scrap ,the good wife knows which side her bread is buttered on
@@victor22366 third low intelligence comment, can't take a joke can you?
Nice to see cash is still king at swap meets and local auctions.
I love the swap meet videos because it gives me a chance to see all the school old stuff. Keep them coming.
Fun Fun Fun! Love going to auctions with you! Thanks for keeping us old guys entertained.
Who ever got that ford pickup, that was behind your car, for 5,500 got one hell of a deal.
5250 actually, they were asking for a 5500 bid and didn't get it!
what year and miles on it
@@EfficientRVer
Those modular 4.6/5.4 engines can go at least 600k miles with nothing more than regular oil changes. From the looks of it, this one has plenty of life left.
Nice grab on that Chevelle! That one was a definite money maker for you. Thanks for another awesome video!
You got quite a deal on the Chevelle. It is a limited edition. worth a lot more!
The old radios can be converted. A place called Ricks Radio Conversions does them up to look like factory, but updated to have bluetooth and usb or I pod. He has a UA-cam and Facebook page.
Mr early riser cleans the place out before 8 am. I have the blessing of being able to sleep all night, and late on Saturday’s
I finally went to a local swap meet that people kept telling me I was missing out on. Well I didn't miss out on anything because the prices people were asking was insane. Looks like a lot of deal there for sure.
Yeah, that sucks, I guess they don't mind hauling it back home. There's a large swap meet in Portland Or. Every April Portland International Raceway...
For a man who didn't want to spend any money you sure splashed out a bundle but will surely reap the benefits in the long run . The Chevelle is going to prove to be the wisest move of them all as no matter how you dispose of it will be a bread winner . Thank you for a very interesting video and a peek into the life of a scrap dealer on a roll . Take care , till next time , Stuart in Canada ..
Hello once more Mr Silas. Thumbs up and away we go. Seventy one and I feel like a child in a sweet shop. My thanks to your family for letting your man show people like me and many others from around the world, old US cars and other cool stuff from Kansas.
That Chevelle is super cool! You got a good deal on it.
Holy crap nice people over there.
The most valuble part on that Chevelle is the cross ram intake. I can't remember ever seeing one for a big block Chevy.
Pretty goofy that someone put a double pumper and a vacuum secondary on it. I can't imagine that it ran very well. Probably doesn't even have a proper cam to work with the dual quad.
You did well to get rid of the whole car and not mess with parting it out IMO. '64s are just not worth the big bucks.
You're absolutely living the dream.
I had a 64 Malibu 2 dr hdtp in my senior year in hs. 6cyl 3 on the tree. White with a red interior.
I wish id had the money to buy that car. Not worried about numbers matching that car could be a pretty quick little car
Good save
Very excellent night silas 😊
Pump each cylinder with a mixture of pb blaster and atf fluid and let it set also drain the oil 🛢 and fill the base with cheap atf also and let it set.
Recently while watching another UA-camr channel, he showed just the outside of the Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita, Kansas. Looks like an interesting place to show us on the second channel.
You mean if some one is playing music you can't record video??
Never would have thought about collecting spark plugs cool.
It is so hard to keep a hand down at a auction and swap meets. I like what ever you show.
Last time I went to a Car Parts auction/yard sale type event, I too went with good intentions of not buying anything. I told my wife, "Just going to look, honey!" And by the time I left I was a $1,000.00 lighter! It happens to the best of us. 🙂 🙂
I'm in love with the chevelle. I would love to hear that thing running.
I love how he says he bought too much, but gonna walk around one more time to see if there’s anything “he needs”…
Spent $50 on some covers he don’t even know what they go to… reminds me of my old man.
Those round headlight rings are probably 47 to 54 Chevy truck. They are probably chrome under that red paint.
The Chevelle was definitely cool, especially since it came with a title. Hopefully it gets restored.
The master excellent silas 😊
Those red headlight rings look like an Advanced Design Chevrolet truck.
It's always interesting to go along with you, because you never know where we're going lol
I also tend to spend too much at swap meets although I bring a shopping list. The ones here like Tri-State I’ll go early, get what I’m looking for, bring it back to my truck and go back in to socialize. I also usually go alone and that helps with concentration on what I’m looking for
Great video, thanks for taking us along.
Never thought i would see another guy that likes all the crazy stuff that i do lol. Keep up the great stuff Silas .
Rare pieces of history as with car parts some very old ones
Great vid!!! 🤜🤛
Excellent silas went to swap meet this weekend myself very sparse do it to it cheers 🥂 😊
"failed at that mission", dropped my coffee lmao. I appreciate the adventure here man. Havent been to a swap meet since the early 90s. Just not around here anymore. Miss those days, and being able to walk around salvage yards to window shop or treasure hunt.
5:49 Silas needs a shopping cart.
😅 can you imagine him going to Carlisle swap meet ? Or Hershey's one lmfao. Probably be priceless
I LOVED THE 64 CAR GREAT DEAL
Your old car and truck parts and vehicles really taking off. 69 Camaro buckets in your 64 chevelle .
Those headlight rings might be 53 Mercury Monterey. That crossram intake for a BBC is a rare item.
you are correct about the bbc 402 engine being factory bored 396 and Chevy did that and called them the 400 big block for passenger cars and trucks
GM did this because of the emissions standards and if the engine was less than 400 cubes it had to have catalytic converters and emissions charcoal canisters and leaner tuned carburetor and timing set back on them to detune for emissions and GM figured out that if they took the 396 which was actually closer to 402 in cubes and called it a 402 like some trucks were badged they were able to sell them without the emissions on them and skate by the emissions crap .
@peteloomis8456 I'm not aware of any truck ever having a 402 badge, if they had the 402 engine the badge said 400, if you know of any please show me. I'm not saying they never did just saying I've never seen it but we learn new stuff all the time.
That was great when you go in there not to spend, and walk out spending more then you have.
Only thing better tan a swap meet is two swap meets ! 64-65 Chevelle is my all time favorite car , big block makes it more better !
I love your videos! Thanks for taking us along
I'm your buyer for 64 Chevelle, a roller with trim...
A bit of history Silas. This what I've read as a classic car buff.
When Chevrolet installed the 396 big block into the 201 65 Chevelles as part of the Z16 Package, only one was a convertible. Many Bowtie fans consider it the Holy Grail of all the Chevys produced. The lone Z16 convertible was said to have been obtained by a top GM executive shortly after it was built. Unlike it's two door brothers, the convertible was never seen in public and it's whereabouts are not known to this day.
These z16s only came with the rarest L78 375 HP 396 made. 11 to 1 forged, square port heads, AND with the only 375 HP hydraulic cam that GM ever made. EVERY other 1965 396 was rated at 425 HP solid lifter. 1966 thru 70, they advertised L78 at 375 hp solid lifter, rated at a lower RPM, even tho it was exactly the same as the 425HP. Also the rare 1 year narrowed 12 bolt.
Wow Don Silas, you have everything there in Kansas. Those items were gone from here at least 10 years ago. It seems though, its like Maine, you can't get there from here! I'm two days drive from you here in Western NY. I don't know how you do it all. Church, Family, Filming, editing, yard work and all. I'd forgotten about my 2 speed bicycle as a kid.
That was great. A nice car and some cool old stuff
Thanks for sharing
You should do a ‘will it run’ with the Chevelle.
Yes! I want to know too.
Boy I wish I was closer to your yard !
you could invest in a rollie cart or a small wagon. I see some elderly people using the pull behind cart in the shopping store
My grandfather on my mother's side had a general store and livestock auction business in Ivy, Iowa. He also sold Model T Fords, at least until the Ford reps found out he was trading livestock for Fords. He thenceforth sold Chevrolets. He always said that if what you're selling doesn't sell, RAISE THE PRICE. Apparently you aren't the first one to experience this phenomenon!
Oh, and a sure fire way to not buy anything at a swap meet?? Don't bring a pocket full of cash!
Treasure Hunt with Silas can’t go wrong 🤪👍👍👍
Cool auction at the end guys grilling burgers while selling a tractor 😂
That auction company has the best food.
In early 70's I bought a yellow 64' Malibu SS 327 4spd for $125.00 ..... it was totalled from a T-bone I made $$ parting it out, but was a shame
👍👌👏 Great purchases! Congratulations! 🎉 Thanks a lot for taking us with you. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Yes you got that right Peace out
Good Afternoon There My Good Big Bro Silas Of Adventures Made From Scratch
Thank You So Very Much There My Good Big Bro Silas Of Adventures Made From Scratch
Thank You So Very Much There To Everyone Else
The big block chevelle is by me in Naperville for $8000
I restored a 64 SS Malibu back in the mid 80s, I bought it for $800. It was an original factory 327 with four speed floor shifter and factory in dash air not under dash. It was originally a white car with blue interior but I painted it red and put white interior in it. I had about $5k into it when I was done as the motor and tranny were good just needed interior redone, all paint and body some minor body work, all new rubber, complete front end rebuild and glass felts etc. It was pretty sweet when I was done but I ended up selling it for $3500 like a dummy. They didn't put big blocks in the Chevelle in 1964.
I think those hub caps with the hole in the center might me the base for old style diner stools
Would lose SO much money, anything mopar related is my weakness! :D
You need one of those collapsible grocery carts to haul around with
The Ford tub will make a good trailer Si 👍🇺🇸🇭🇲🇭🇲
a very enjoyable 50 minutes plus,thank you
Yes I had a 64 SS 6cyl automatic nice car
good tour bro - thank you
Great adventure💯👀 Thanks for sharing
I cant believe what you gave for that stuff . I would love for you to come to my place i have alot of stuff but cant find anyone to buy it.
Silas your killing me man, now I want to go auction shopping.
Awesome video Silas I'm glad we got to see it !
Yeah, it snowed on Halloween this year, but it was very beautiful
I love it...not going to buy just look...hah. But you have to buy what you know you can sale. Busy week.
Enjoyable video!!!!!
Very glad you put this on your main chanel. Maybe the next auction or swap meet you should start saying you are going to spend a ton of money. You will still end up buying the same amount but feel great you spent so little. Great video as always. Bart from Soth Africa.
Fun thanks 👍😊
Great episode .
i need the Fleetside imblems for my truck
Nice price on the Fleetside enb. No less than a bill round here
@@vm722 i cant even find them around here
I had one of those Edelbrock crossram intakes back in the early '70s, except mine was side-by-side, not offset like that. I had thought those offset carbs were original Chevrolet, and the side-by-side carbs Edelbrock aftermarket. I had that intake on a '65 Vette 327 with a '69 4-bolt main later model bottom end & solid lifter cam (remember those?), I think Hooker headers that curved out to meet the factory sidepipes, and in front of 3:08 gears. Between Rantoul, IL & Oil City, PA I could get about 20 MPG @ 80 MPH just cruising. I filled up with $0.19 regular gas a few times during a gas war & then was about empty when arriving home where I would fill up with Sunoco 260 for the weekend.
wow that big block is an awsome car to resto
I've really enjoyed this one Silas, I absolutely love going to swapmeets and auctions here in the UK. I very rarely come home without something interesting.
David in the UK.
Keep this content on main channel.
I like that staggered intake that's rare.
Silas, you need a little wagon with sideboards to drag around swap meets with you to carry your treasures
Great job thank you
I really enjoyed watching you, much fun thanks!!
I had the light go out in a plastic pumpkin that I used for a Halloween decoration and then you reminded me of your junk o lanterns and now I realize why they sell so quickly compared to cheap decorations that sell these days.
Imagine making an accent wall with all those old Instrument clusters.
Hi, does everything in Kansas have to be “cool”. Cool headlight rings, cool motor oil, cool tailgate, cool emblems, cool carburetor etc. killing with the cool this and that. Neat or sharp every now and then would be a nice change. Otherwise great video content. Long time subscriber. Thank you.
This was a very enjoyable video! You bought some cool stuff Silas!
This is great always learn something.
I was disappointed I thought trunk probably full of vintage hot wheels models 😪 cheers Stephen 🤠⭐🦅🍀
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
