My family owns John’s of Bleecker Street! Thanks for mentioning us. It is names after my great grandfather John Sasso. The secret is a brick oven heated by coal. Across the street my uncle Frank and his brothers own Ottomanelli Prime Meats!
I haven't been to NYC since I was a young girl, I probably was 12 maybe, I'm trying to remember might be even younger than that 2004 or 2005. So been a while. I'm 31 now, and I still remember Luigi's Pizza to this day, and want to go back one day. I also remember eating at this pizza place in long island, don't remember the name, but it was so good. I'm actually glad I was able to experience Luigi's even before all the hype. I can't wait to go back one day, hopefully I can next year.
I'm staying LES myself for a week in Feb (just across from Chinatown on Allen Street). Thanks for this tip, just a few blocks from the hotel I'll be staying. At this rate I'll spending all my spending money on pizza slices after watching this video lol
Man, I just got back from NYC a few weeks ago. I really wanted to get to Bleecker Street, but couldn't. But I did hit the $1.50 Pizza at 55th and Broadway a few times (it was right by the hotel) and it was amazing. Definitely has to be on this list!
I love Jonny’s it’s so so good. I haven’t been to Luigi’s in a minute, but I went there with Dan and met Gio and the Fam. The place is awesome. Has the old school pizza shop vibes and they were amazing and friendly. I just love how light and crispy. John’s on is also great. I still haven’t been to philomena’s. Lucia of Avenue x is also a great spot, I love their clam pizza on Fridays only. About how they were some of the first waves of the new slide shop Renaissance in New York L&B Spumoni Garden is a classic old school spot. Still need to go to cello’s. I’ve been wanting to go to see no evil. I need to make it there in 2025 😎 wow that crunch at Mano’s 🤤 I need to go to the other spot as well. I love this list. Jon 😎
I liked it but it was overly crispy. I prefer pizza that is crispy, but the inside of the crust is chewy and stretchy. Maybe I just got an old slice that was a little dry then the reheat made it too crispy.
@@nathanaelhart8487 There are no "old slices" there. If a pizza crust is too crispy without having any chew, it is because they are making the rookie mistake of putting TOO MUCH OIL in the pizza dough.
One of the best pizzas in NYC is Margherita's on Jamaica Avenue, Queens. They have been around for nearly 60 years, and they are hands down among the best.❤
IMO, Joe's is still the best place to send a person that has never experience real NY Pizza. It's a great starter point to understand where newer style slices came from. My current favorite is the Grandma slice at Best Pizza.
Joe's pizza is literally the worst NY slice. It tastes like a cardboard. There are way better pizza places than Joe's. Really, never ever have I been so disappointed about a pizza place in my entire life.
OK, this is a great video .. I've been eating at John's and Luigi's since I was in high school in the 70s .. However, not ONE Staten island place? Honestly, I never knew how good the Pizza in Staten Island was until my brother moved there 20 years ago .. Paisanno's and Domenico's stand out .. unfortunately, too late for the legendary Nunzios!
Jon, why am I always hungry after watching one of your videos? I can’t wait to get back to NYC next month. If I can have one last meal before I die, it would be the anchovy pie at L’industrie (heaven). Thank you Jon, you have the best NYC channel on UA-cam!
You got pretty much every spot I had in mind Jon! You can’t go wrong with any of these places, and the few new ones I haven’t tried yet look like they’re gonna be instant classics too. But that Nonna Maria though 😩 👏 😂
Dude… In a video about best "slices", talking about blocks away from Bleecker Street (which is great), so you mention John’s (granted, a classic - but NO slices) and skip Joe’s? No way.
I would like to add Mama's Too onto the list. There West Village location is getting all the attention right now, they originated on the Upper West Side, my home, there square slice is a-mazing so crispy full of flavor.
Thanks for another great video. My favorite place to stay in Manhattan is CitizenM Times Square, just a few steps from See No Evil Pizza. I will be checking that out on my next stay. By the way, I read that a number of restaurants will need to start closing down their sidewalk stalls. Have a great holiday season.
Andrew Belluci beats Lindustrie. Also you totally missed Staten Island. And I can think of at least two dozen pizza shops as good or actually better than what you just listed.
The Staten Island disrespect is CCCRRRAAAAZZZZYYYYY Joe and Pats, Denino's, Lee's Tavern has pizza that goes toe to toe with ANYTHING else NYC has to offer.
Get L&B off this list, it's absolute dog shit now. They were my local, every-Sunday spot for 30 years but the pizza part of it was quietly sold (again) recently and the pizza is GARBAGE. There are only two ways to get a tray there now, black-as-the-ace-of-spades burnt, or uncooked. I have, I shit you not, taken a half tray home only to find out that the dough was completely raw and only the bottom was cooked, whoever's got the place now has no idea how to make a pizza, and the sauce is completely different to boot. You want a real pizza in Brooklyn, Krispy Pizza on 13th Ave in Dyker Heights. Go see the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights (my childhood if anyone reading this wants to know my Brooklyn credentials) and then go over to Krispy. The sweet ricotta and Krispy trio are the best things they've got, but the palermo is good too and the white slice is the best I've had in 30 years. If you're lucky enough to score a trio right out of the oven, there isn't a better slice in Brooklyn. Full stop.; they're my Sunday pizza night spot now, won't go anywhere else and I don't even live nearby, it's a good 20 minute drive each way.
@@georgecostanza8777 lmfao no it absolutely is not, stop believing what the sign says. They were sold 20-ish years ago, one of the owners was an Italian guy who got clipped in his driveway during Covid, an the other owner is/was Armenian or something. The Italian family kept the restaurant, ice cream, and the sandwiches while the Armenians ran the pizza. I very distinctly remember when they were sold the first time (in my lifetime), the old Italian pizzaiolo had to teach the Armenians to make the apizz before he left. I was laid up all summer recovering from a serious accident and sometime in there they were sold again, all new people took over the pizza and sandwiches. Stop acting like you know what you're talking about, everything about the place has changed in the last 6 months

Will be hitting these spots and other recs in general 🙌🏾 Always on point Sir awesome 🤘🏼👏🏼

Our pleasure!
Literally just arrived in NYC for the next 25 days - must try these now
So glad to see Louie's made the list - insanely good pizza and a definition of an amazing neighborhood spot that is slept on.
will definitely be going to a few of these in April...... thanks for all the helpful videos
Krispy Pizza in Dyker Heights
I was there on Friday night. Definetly a great spot
Damn I was just in the area scouting Christmas lights houses smh
Could have gotten some pizzas while I was in the area scouting Christmas lights 🎄
Some houses really took it to another level. Some new houses too.
7:59
Gotta get the Hell Pie as well as a regular one
Okay I have to go now :)
John's of Bleeker Street was my "go to" place when I lived on Bedford Street in the 1970s. Miss those days and I miss John's!
Perfect summary ❤
Jon I'm looking forward to eating more NYC pizza!
Hi Jon,
Thanks for your top 15 pizza 🍕places. It’s great to see different pizzerias on the list.
Happy Holidays and Happy Hanukkah;
Peter
I visited Bleecker St in November and it was by far my favourite!!
Luigi's pizza is pizza perfection
Brodo, Pep and Jalapeno is my favorite!!
I haven't been to NYC since I was a young girl, I probably was 12 maybe, I'm trying to remember might be even younger than that 2004 or 2005. So been a while. Your thumbnails have been great lately, Jon 💯 This might be my favorite one. Pure pizza bliss 😆
I keep hearing it over and over and I'm finally going to go to Bleecker Street Pizza for a Nonna Maria!
Just gotta book that flight!
🍕 you get me craving pizza every time you include it on here. Unfortunately nothing even close to those heavenly delights around here.🍕❤
Philomena’s and Mano’s are tied as my favorite pizza joints
Awesome job Herebebarr
I’ve been twice in NYC from Europe, and twice I’ve visited Bleecker street pizza, thanks to Jon 😁
L&B's is a classic! John & Joe's in The Bronx, Russ in Greenpoint, Denino's in Staten Island.
I gotta give a shout out to Grand Street Pizza on the Lower East Side. My favorite slice I had in the city!
I'm staying LES myself for a week in Feb (just across from Chinatown on Allen Street). Thanks for this tip, just a few blocks from the hotel I'll be staying. At this rate I'll spending all my spending money on pizza slices after watching this video lol
The best Jerry, the best !
Uncle Paul’s in my favorite pizza place in NYC. I go every time I visit.
Totally under the radar, and a spectacular cheese pizza...Baked by Luigi on 23rd between Second and Third. Plus Luigi is an NYC original.

I appreciate you not making the line at Lucali's longer 😂
Hahha
Ignazio's in Dumbo, Siena Pizza on Rector St, Prince Pizza, NY Suprema
Yes so many options
Ignazios is slept on and I don't know why. Prince Street probably the best square slice in the city.
BRO! No Scarrs?! Another new place that deserves a review is Grand Street Pizza.
Krispy's is amazing!!!
Bleaker street pizza is to die for
Forget what your social media tells you, just go to Bleeker Street pizza.
🎉🎉
I liked it but it was overly crispy. I prefer pizza that is crispy, but the inside of the crust is chewy and stretchy. Maybe I just got an old slice that was a little dry then the reheat made it too crispy.
Facts
Went to NYC for 3 days for a long weekend. Went to Bleecker Street Pizza 3 times 😂

'Lupo Rosso' in LIC (Queens), and then 10 min walk and sit under the iconic pepsi sign 🤗
Bleecker is my favorite, but you've given us more to try! John's is next on our list

Hi Johnny, 😀 I want to try Pugleys Pizza 🍕 and Bleecker st Pizza. I like Joe's and Marinara's 🍕 pizzerias.
Love this style video jon. Do 5 star and 1 star restaurants on google reviews
If only these were anonymous. Been to many on the list and have had a wildly different experience
Hell yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a 🍕 🥳 🎉 🪅 party, #HereBeBarr 🎊 🍺 😋🤩🥰
Di Fara? Did I miss it?
C'mon no love for Staten Island? Lee's Tavern, Joe and Pat's, Denino's, etc.
So I'm heading to nyc for Xmas for first trip from uk. I love pizza but hate cheese so gutted that I want be able to grab a slice
My favorite pizza is LITTLE ITALYS on FULTON STREET in MANHATTAN's LOWER EAST SIDE.
Little Italy 🇮🇹 pizza 🍕 is good.
OK, this is a great video .. I've been eating at John's and Luigi's since I was in high school in the 70s .. However, not ONE Staten island place? Everything Pizza Barr.
I don't get why L'Industrie is so loved by everyone right now. It's fine but nothing earth shattering.
This video is heaven 🍕😋
Is that AK with you at L'Industrie?
It is.
As an argentinian pizza aficionado let me tell you that Luigis is FAN TAS TIC
My favorite is Vito's' at 36th and 9th Ave
My friend, as a Neapolitan, you forgot Ribalta and "Song' E Napule". Try it and let me know 😉
BEST is a few blocks down from Industrie, and is superior, imo.
As a fordham student, pugsleys is some of the worst pizza i’ve had in nyc. it’s drunk pizza and it’s priced higher than manhatten slice shops
Luigis next trip please!
Artichoke basilles and Prince street pizza for me!
😂It's like broccoli 🥦 cheddar soup. Artichoke Basille.
@@aasim8their vodka slice is banging!
One of the very best under the radar gems in Brooklyn is not on this list..I will not divulge since hey less peeps in my way is just fine with me 😉
Surprised there was no De Fara.
Surprised he didnt mention lucalis
Go to Manhattan if you want some bougie pizza. Go to the Bronx if you want the best.
Jon, why am I always hungry after watching one of your videos? I can’t wait to get back to NYC next month.
If I can have one last meal before I die, it would be the anchovy pie at L’industrie (heaven).

He just keeps doing it to us 😂

I'm a Lazzara's girl ❤❤❤
No, Scar's pizza wow my guy.
Pizza!!!
What about Full Moon pizzeria in the Belmont section of The Bronx? Located in Little Italy. Their pizza is amazing! And always crowded.
going to have to disagree on the pizza is amazing, at best it's a mid.
I would like to add Mama's Too onto the list. There West Village location is getting all the attention right now, they originated on the Upper West Side, my home, there square slice is a-mazing so crispy full of flavor.
Yep, I’ve been to the UWS spot and it’s soooo good. Everyone should try it for sure.

ok this might just convince me to visit -a person who said she's never wanted to visit nyc
l&b over luigi's lmaooooo
vodka sauce, absurd toppings, pasta on pizza: you gotta be kiddin' me :/
Scarr's.

I used to always call New York City the greatest city in the world and now I call it the greatest city in the world with an *
John's pizza turns to a brick once it cools down
No Di Fara?!?!?! WTF Barr!
Brother you gotta hit up P&M pizza on 146th and Amsterdam. Harlem. You're list is great though!! 🔥🔥
Get to Staten Island
I thought you had moved to Jersey? You should do a video of the best pizza spots across the Hudson.
Nope still in Brooklyn I grew up in Jersey
i went to johns pizza and took out a pie. wasnt that impressed.

lol no krispy
Staten Island doesn’t make the list??!! It’s not our fault you have to pay a toll to get some of the best pizza in NY..
First place you went to: jersey has great tomatoes. Would be better than sourcing from California
You forgot Pasqually's, founded by legendary pizzaiolo Charles Entertainment Cheese. Don't forget to grab a bouncy ball from the ticket counter.
You left off some of the best. Your probably did it to get people riled up….i hope….
No Best pizza????
No Di Fara? *gasp*
Johns was a disappointment from bleeker street its grandma was mind blowing
no Mama's Too? shame. SHAME!!!!!!!! Shanda!
*Pizzerias with wood or coal oven baked pizza offer only whole pies because the ovens are too hot to reheat slices.*
pizza is not rocket science
